🗣️ Acuario Roundhouse: Opiniones
Experiencia positiva: God this place is really tiny like literally the size of a living room. I went with a friend and the small space felt kind of cramped honestly. Still, it’s cool to see baby sharks and rays up close. We caught the shark feeding at 12:30 pm, cute but super quick. It’s free to visit but it also felt a bit sparse, don’t expect “big aquarium” energy. And on weekends it was a bit crowded for the size, so you kinda have to wait your turn to get a good view.
Experiencia positiva: Small aquarium. Open to the public and free admission. Donations welcome and accepted.
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely. It’s free admission.
Experiencia fantástica: Free aquarium on the end of a pier with some cool animals?? Fantastic
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful aquarium, perfect for a walk at the beach (free) ️
Experiencia fantástica: Cute free aquarium, staff are friendly to everyone and openly speak about their creatures. Some sea life on entry level and up stairs.
Experiencia fantástica: So cute!! I loved looking around and finding new information about the sea creatures inside. They actually have a lot more than I expected and who knew there were 2 floors! There’s a cute goldfish on second floor who keeps turning over but not to worry they are aware she isn’t dead lol I recommend this place
Experiencia fantástica: A small interactive aquarium that requests a donation upon entry but doesn't have formal tickets. You are able to engage closely with the staff to get to touch sea creatures like starfish, sea cucumbers, and anemone. They also have impressive collections of jelly fish and a few small sharks. A high-quality experience that's definitely worth a donation
Experiencia positiva: While checking out the area, we decided to stop in the aquarium since we were already on the pier. We realized it didn't open until 2 p.m., which seemed late to me. Since it was 10 minutes until 2, we decided to wait. Some employees started bringing stuff outside, but it was more than 10 minutes past 2 that they let people in. I get and generally love the laid-back atmosphere of Southern California, but waiting an extended period of time after opening to get in was kinda annoying, especially because we needed to leave by 3 and were concerned we wouldn't have enough time on the parking meter to see all that we wanted to see. Once we got inside, we discovered it is a free aquarium, but donations for operation are appreciated! You can make a cash or electronic donation. The aquarium itself isn't very big, but there are some neat things to see! My two highlights were seeing an octopus moving around its tank and the volunteer that was there explaining and teaching things to people! I learned a few new things while I was there! I always appreciate a chance to learn more about the world around me! The man was very friendly and did a fantastic job engaging with visitors! Overall, there were many interesting things to see and experience! However, some of the displays could be improved for a better viewing experience. Some were hard to see because of poor lighting or light glare. The octopus was my favorite thing to see but probably had the worst tank of all. The poor lighting made it more difficult to see with good clarity. There was also a working area by the tank that looked disorganized and blocked good viewing. The octopus looked to be healthy and in good shape, but it could use a bigger, better tank. I wouldn't list this as a must-see aquarium. However, if you happen to be in the Manhattan Beach area and like marine life, it's worth the look around!
Experiencia fantástica: Front desk worker So nice
Experiencia positiva: Small but worth checking out they have some cool animals
Experiencia fantástica: The kids loved this tiny walk in aquarium
Experiencia fantástica: Very fun aquarium. The exhibits and tanks rival that of the aquarium of the pacific. Very kid friendly and you are able to see a lot of fish. Free activity
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice place. The kids really enjoyed it and it's free.
Experiencia fantástica: Small but fun! We enjoyed. Takes only 15 - 25 minutes to see it all. We also saw dolphins off the pier
Experiencia fantástica: so cute and fun! free!
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing place to go. School had a field trip here and it was amazing. They have a teaching program and the kids got so much out of this. Highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: Cute aquarium at the end of the Manhattan Beach pier! It was renovated a few years ago and looks AMAZING. Even better that it's free!
Experiencia positiva: Small but very nice. Volunteers are amazing!
Experiencia fantástica: An incredible amount of sealife packed into the aquarium at the end of the pier. Volunteers are always so helpful and kind to answer all my kids questions. Love the touch tank!
Experiencia positiva: Small but great place... I recommend you!
Experiencia positiva: This small place is great for free activities. Arrive at least 30 minutes before closing, as staff will start to kick people out on time and won't allow entry within 3 minutes of closing. Always double-check their hours, as they can change; for example, when we visited, it was supposed to close at 7 PM but changed to 5 PM.
Experiencia fantástica: Had a great time & was very interesting. Really loved that it was free so we donated.
Experiencia fantástica: For what it is, an aquarium at the end of the Manhattan Beach Pier this place is special. It’s free, it has cool eels and critters to pique kids interest. Since I was little every time we go to MB we take a stroll to the end of the pier to see this gem.
Experiencia positiva: Fish with lip abrasions from swimming against the glass shouldn’t be in there regardless of whether it means they’re older than usual... All the other fish seemed fine.
Experiencia fantástica: Truly a great aquarium! Great for little ones. Friendly staff.
Experiencia fantástica: Cute little free aquarium love it we need more things like this in general where you don’t have to pay ridiculous prices.
Experiencia fantástica: A free, small two floor building at the end of Manhattan Beach Pier
Experiencia positiva: Quaint aquarium. Free admission and you get to see some interesting sea life.
Experiencia fantástica: The Roundhouse Aquarium is a really cool free aquarium. It is fun to check out if you're at the Manhattan Beach Pier and is relatively quick to enjoy!
Experiencia positiva: Part of the delight visiting the Roundhouse Aquarium is the easy stroll along an extended pier standing in the deep water for many to admire... the ocean, ships and surfers. If lucky, the sunset is absolutely gorgeous! Like other piers, many find the pier filled with fishing folks and entertainers. The Aquarium is tiny, compact, educational, and "free". Yes, as pricey as everything associated with the coastal cities, this gem is basically free and open to the public with limited hours. Donations are welcome. It's enjoyable for those with extra free minutes to wander around, both first and a second floor. Kids have the opportunity to touch live sea creatures in a tank! Splendid time to expose youngsters to appreciate sea life and value nature in front of them. Plus side of walking the pier... at the start of the it, there are public bathrooms, but not at the Aquarium. Would we visit again? Definitely! The pier walk is worth it!
Experiencia negativa: I ended up here with some friends and checked it out. It was simple and not much to it. I was expecting a bit more.
Experiencia fantástica: small but informative, great for families with kids. they love touching star fish!
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice but small aquarium with a good variety of aquatic animals
Experiencia fantástica: Fun little place. No charge, just donations.
Experiencia fantástica: The Roundhouse Aquarium, perched at the end of the Manhattan Beach Pier, is a hidden gem that offers an intimate and engaging marine experience. Housed within a charming building reminiscent of coastal architecture, this small aquarium makes a big impact with its immersive displays and welcoming atmosphere. Upon approaching, visitors are greeted by “Manny,” a larger-than-life white shark sculpture that piques curiosity and excitement. Once inside, the aquarium offers a fascinating peek into the underwater world with exhibits like the “Immersion Gallery.” This unique exhibit captivates guests with jellyfish gracefully floating in vibrant, illuminated tanks, creating an almost ethereal ambiance. Despite its modest size, the Roundhouse Aquarium impresses with well-curated educational content, interactive displays, and an inviting environment perfect for families, tourists, and locals alike. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, eager to share insights and answer questions, making the visit both informative and enjoyable. Whether you’re taking a leisurely stroll along the pier or exploring the marine life within, the Roundhouse Aquarium provides a delightful stop. It’s a beautiful blend of education, wonder, and oceanfront charm—a must-visit destination for those exploring the scenic Manhattan Beach area.
Experiencia fantástica: The Roundhouse was quaint and not busy, 3pm, you learn about how dirty humans are when we litter and how long it takes for our trash to decompose, there are different cool looking shark eggs and a small pool to touch certain sea creatures like sea-stars and other clams.
Experiencia positiva: Nice small aquarium place . I love the jelly fish aquarium, amazing . Free to enter ✅️
Experiencia fantástica: This is a small compact aquarium. There isn't much to see. The creatures inside appear to be very well taken care of and that's very positive. No need to go upstairs unless you like going up stairs to exercise. It's a very clean and well maintained aquarium. No charge to enter and I just walked in because there was no waiting necessary. The best part is the aquarium doesn't smell fishy.
Experiencia fantástica: By the sea, free to explore, The aquarium offers wonders galore. Eels twist in a quiet dance, A world of magic at first glance. Small, but enough to stay for days, In its depths, you'll find your gaze.
Experiencia fantástica: Cute tiny aquarium with some neat aquatic life (fish, eels, anemones, etc.)
Experiencia fantástica: The Roundhouse Aquarium is located at the end of Manhattan Beach Pier. Great spot for photos any time of day. Check out their website for hours. Blessings
Experiencia fantástica: This is a special place I remember bringing the kids to this aquarium to see the sharks when they were very young. We should all be extremely thankful for Skechers to stepping up and improving the quality and experience of this many aquarium. We love our pier. ♥️♥️♥️
Experiencia positiva: It’s a small aquarium at the end of the Redondo Beach pier and has many animals living there and it’s free to enter.
Experiencia fantástica: Very small aquarium on the Manhattan beach pier. Packed full of sea creatures and fishes.
Experiencia positiva: Great little aquarium. We were on a day trip along the California beach. Very informative and fun free experience.
Experiencia negativa: The fish in the first tank on the right as you walk in are in distress. Their chins are red from constant bumping onto the glass. The large fish looks like it’s going die any day soon. The eels have hernias or some sort of bad growth on the side of the head. Very sickening to watch. The tanks are dirty . The only good thing about this place is that it’s free entry. But it would be better if they char money for entry and took better care about the creatures
Thanks for visiting, and thank you for the concern for our animals. You are correct that some of the animals in the large tank may have outlived the life expectancy for their species, which shows they have been well cared for and are continuing to thrive during their time with us . We work with a veterinarian who monitors the health of the animals in our care, and he provides care for the animals on a consistent basis. Since we are a small aquarium, we do not have the same "back of house" areas larger facilities have to house their aging animals. Also, you may have visited shortly after we had a power outage in the area recently. When our systems restart following a power outage, it kicks materials in the tank up that may cause the tanks to look murky. The tanks have settled now. We hope you'll come back and visit us again. Thank you again for your feedback.
Experiencia fantástica: What a wonderful tiny aquarium. If you are on a date or hanging out with your family strolling the beach and enjoying the views this little aquarium has a wonderful selection of tanks and is worth a 30 minute wander through the native wildlife tanks of California ocean ecosystem. It was free when we went and we donated 5$ to keep the fish fed! Highly recommend if you enjoy quick neat places to visit. Skip it if you will be disappointed it isn’t huge. It’s not. Not at all large. (Also tell the eels I love them. )
Experiencia positiva: It's completely free, but I recommend you donate something in the donation box. Very small and classroom like atmosphere with small variety of local fish. Eels were the most unique species.
Experiencia fantástica: Quaint local aquarium at the end of a long pier - full of wonders for young and old
Experiencia fantástica: Small Aquarium, but free. Will be interesting for kids.
Experiencia fantástica: Super nice place, ppl working there are excited of their work and the place itself is created with great care and love
Experiencia positiva: A very cute small aquarium off the pier. It’s two small stories, with a couple small fish and crustaceans like red spiny lobster, moray eels, and assorted fish. It’s worth a quick look at if you’re in the area but don’t expect it to be a “main attraction”. No payment necessary, but donate if you can. Park in the parking lots outside the Rock’N’Fish (South Pier Parking Lots) for the shortest walk although they can get full during the weekends and peak hours. Parking there is metered at $2.50 an hour.
Experiencia positiva: Small aquarium, free with enthusiastic curators. Upstairs was closed for refurbishment but still, a pleasant experience. It's small so don't expect to spend more than 10 minutes in the aquarium unless you have a special interest in one of the exhibits. Would be interesting to see what it is like once upstairs is open.
Experiencia fantástica: Free entrance. Small aquarium, nothing to go on about, but still pretty cool to see it on a pier. Not too busy even during the weekend
Experiencia fantástica: It's a small aquarium/teaching center located in Manhattan Beach pier. You can visit it for free, but I recommend making a donation, it have 2 levels and different species that you can see along the tour.
Experiencia fantástica: Little fun place to visit. Very very small. You can touch/experience some of sea creatures. Fun to walk pier and watch surfers.
Experiencia positiva: Great learning atmosphere for being a local and free resource. I recommend adding this to your beach list if you’re near by.
Experiencia fantástica: beautiful way to discover aquatic friends and it’s free
Experiencia fantástica: Nice free or donation-based attraction for something to do on a weekend beach trip
Experiencia fantástica: Very small aquarium that doesn't waste even a square millimeter of space. Everywhere I looked, there was something to read, to take in. It shows the love and care everyone contributed to it. Plus, the view from the wraparound Pier is amazing, especially when surf's up!
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome little aquarium with jellyfish and a few other fish. It's free to enter and is located at the end of the pier. We saw dolphins from the pier as well. 100% recommend if you are in the area.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome free aquarium. Great spot to go if you're walking around Manhattan Beach.
Experiencia fantástica: It’s amazing what they fit inside this tiny building at the end of a pier, so much to see inside.
Experiencia fantástica: Free aquarium in the middle of the ocean , good place
Experiencia fantástica: I was almost convinced by the volunteer to kiss a sea slug but I was able to have self control and keep it to the two-finger touch.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice spot for relaxing or doing active sport.
Experiencia positiva: Would've given five stars, but they removed the children's library / play area when they remodeled. Stay focused on the children because they are future
Hi John, thanks so much for your message! We actually had the kids library area when we remodeled, but we removed it during COVID. We rely mostly on volunteers to assist us during our public hours, and it was too much for us to try to coordinate to sanitize the books, table, and chairs. We love our smallest visitors, and hope they enjoy touching in our touch tank and viewing all our live animals.
Experiencia fantástica: Cool little aquarium with some nice information and friendly staff. They have a looking tank with a bunch of star fish and local sea creatures. Pretty cool to see the jellies upstairs along with some different fish. Thank you to the staff for keeping a fun beach excursion going for everyone!
Experiencia fantástica:
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful little gem of a place! Small enough to easily walk through while genuinely enjoying the wildlife displays and interactive experiences! The aquarium is conveniently located at the end of Manhattan Beach Pier. There are educational labels with pictures at each display, and there is a tide pool with guided interactive experiences on site for kids of all ages! The moon jellyfish were so cool to watch! Definitely if you are in the area check it out! It's easy to get to and free to enter, although donations are encouraged and accepted.
Experiencia fantástica: The Roundhouse Aquarium is an excellent deal for everyone, as it’s an educational experience for younger and older visitors! Aquarium tanks offer live views of how fish look when they swim. Exhibits offer an immersive insight into the local marine environment. Located at the far end of the Manhattan Beach Pier, the aquarium is in that familiar landmark building with the white exterior, green trim and red roof.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful view of Manhattan Beach from here
Experiencia fantástica: An amazing aquarium, and great staff. It’s a smaller aquarium but a great place while visiting Manhattan Beach.
Experiencia positiva: It's a small aquarium off the pier. Last time I was there they had a tide pool where people can touch sea anemone, sea star, and sea cucumbers. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.
Experiencia fantástica: Super cool small aquarium. Touch pool was the best part, with sea cucumbers, mussels, urchins, bat stars, sea anemones, abalone shells, and sea snails all vibing together :) Animals look like they’re being treated decently. Some cool jellyfish and moray eels!
Experiencia fantástica: Fun & FREE activity at Manhattan Beach Pier. My daughter loved it there. There is a small tide pool right when you walk in where you can see and touch the starfish and anemones. They also have a small area upstairs where you can see some jellyfish, lobsters, abalones, shrimps, and etc.
Experiencia positiva: Located at the end of the Manhattan Beach pier, so it has wonderful scenery. Has live and pictorial examples of fish and sea creatures that habitat locally. Great experience for families.
Experiencia fantástica: Great place to go with friends or family. Has exhibitions that are focus for children but enjoyable for all ages. Is free entry so it is easy to get into it. Besides being small it has a lot of things to see and is two stories tall. Also you can have a great view of the pier where it is located. Don’t miss it.
Experiencia positiva: Great spot for a quick visit. Kids love it.
Experiencia positiva: Nothing to see few fish that’s all free to enter
Experiencia fantástica: Looking for a fun and affordable date idea? Look no further than the Roundhouse Aquarium and Teaching Center in Manhattan Beach! This small but beautiful aquarium is located at the end of the pier, making it the perfect spot for a romantic stroll with your significant other. But don't let the size of the aquarium fool you - there's plenty to see and do here! You can get up close and personal with some sea creatures by touching starfish and other marine life. And if you're feeling brave, you might even be able to catch a glimpse of a lemon shark! But the best part? Admission is totally free! So leave your worries at the door and dive into the world of the Roundhouse Aquarium - you won't regret it! Just make sure to leave a tip for all the hardworking staff who keep this tiny treasure trove of marine life up and running.
Experiencia fantástica: Had a wonderful time! Got to see and learn a lot of amazing things. Would visit here again any time I’m at the beach, better than any real aquarium for the free price. The volunteer staff are wonderful, especially Dave.
Experiencia fantástica: Located on the Manhattan pier, parking was a but difficult. Beautiful view of the sunset.
Experiencia positiva: Very small, but cute and fun for kids. On the pier, off the boardwalk, so a nice excursion to stroll to
Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I stopped by this Aquarium while walking about Manhattan Beach. I never been here and was interested of what they have inside. It's free to come visit, you just have to check in at the front. They asked what city you're coming from and that was basically it for us. This place is very small so be aware of that and they have a 2nd floor as well. They had some fishes, bones of sea animals, octopus and starfish. We had a good experience and was nice to experience seeing some sea creatures.
Experiencia fantástica: Free small aquarium with some great information. Great for kids. Thet have an area to touch sine starfish and other sea stuff. Located at the end of Manhatten pier
Experiencia fantástica: Nice little aquarium with local fish and underwater wildlife.
Experiencia fantástica: Everything there is soo cute, they even have an octopus :)
Experiencia positiva: Lovely little aquarium sitting on a lovely little pier.
Experiencia positiva: Very friendly cute aquarium. Small but informative! Good place to Support!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Nice place to watch dolphins and surfer!
Experiencia fantástica: It’s free but I recommend donating, it’s quaint , a real gem on the beach
Experiencia fantástica: It's a unique approach to build this Roundhouse Aquarium at the heart of Manhattan beach in LA. Every person should visit this place before going to the beach to understand how his/her small effort can save many underwater lives. The display of many objects with the title of "How LONG does it take your TRASH to BIODEGRADE?" In the staircase really blew my mind ! The entire setup of the aquarium can be a great learning opportunity as an education trip for any school going kids.
Experiencia fantástica: Installing the Audio visual equipment for the new facility. It's going to be great!
Experiencia negativa: Love that it is educational and free, but the fish tanks were so dirty and there was actually a dead fish in one of the tanks! Seems like the staff should be a little more concerned about the welfare of their main attraction…
We're sorry you did not enjoy your visit! Our aquarist staff are experts in marine life, and take great care to ensure the health of all the animals. It sounds like you may have visited on a feeding day, where there could be leftover food (dead fish) in the tank. While algae on the glass doesn't look great, we assure you it doesn't hurt the animals. Our tanks are scrubbed of algae on a rotating basis, so you may have spotted one that is getting cleaned next. Please feel free to reach out via email ([email protected]) if you have any other concerns.
Experiencia fantástica: The remodeled aquarium is quite amazing for its size! It’s like a miniature LB Aquarium. There’s an octopus, small sharks, and a bunch of jellyfish. It’s free, but donations are greatly appreciated to maintain this educational spot. The staff and volunteers are super too!
Experiencia positiva: It's a sweet little free aquarium with beautiful moon jellies, an octopus and all kinds of other sea creatures that impress with their colorful beauty. But the fish told me the tanks are too small. They don't need tall I would assume they would rather appreciate a bit more depth. Maybe the tank could go all around in the roundhouse? But what do I know?
Experiencia fantástica: Small but free aquarium with a decent variety of sea life. The large tanks have an assortment of sea bass, moray eels, and various other fish. The open tanks have lemon sharks, sea cucumbers, sea urchins, and more!
Experiencia positiva: Nice view! the place is always packed! however it has few fish, but it is worth the visit! the pier you have a very beautiful view!
