Experiencia negativa: Came back from this depressing store. I saw multiple conures in 1 cage that is far less than 18 inches square. I saw one conure that was bald of feathers on their chest, maybe already engaging in plucking/self mutilation. If you are going to charge over $200 and make money off of these poor birds the least they can do is provide adequate space for them. They need way more space than that. And for them to post that they barely meet animal welfare standards plus also a sign on the door saying no pictures/recording is allowed says a lot. I have visited multiple other stores that do not ask that so I find that very odd. The best you can do to stop places like this is to not buy anything from these stores. Anyone that buys pets from this store is contributing to animal cruelty, don't delude yourself that they are being treated well there.

Experiencia negativa: I recently visited the store to purchase two Guinea pigs. As the gentleman working there was friendly enough, I have never in my LIFE seen so many animals in such treacherous conditions. The two Guinea pigs we adopted were kept in a tiny cage, half the size as the beginner one we currently have for them. There was about 4 pieces of wood chips, old dried up hay and a very low water bottle. My heart instantly broke. I originally wanted one Guinea pig, but upon the owner explaining the Guinea pigs needs to be together I’m grateful for two reasons. That my Guinea pigs will be happy and healthy together, and that neither of them will EVER have to see another day in that terrible shop. He also informed me that if I only take one, the “livestock” as he calls them will most likely die and the store is not responsible. Great to know how much they care for the animals. I never write reviews on anything, but I could not help myself from writing this. Do better with these animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a great experience at Pet O Pets in Mississauga! The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for our fish to thrive. We purchased two tanks, seven fish, two plants, fish food, and all the other essentials. They patiently guided us through the process and answered all our questions. Highly recommend this place for anyone starting out or looking to expand their aquarium setup!

Experiencia fantástica: We had an awesome experience at the Mississauga location when purchasing a sweet little baby parrot. The seller had awesome customer service skills, he went over each and everything with us prior to taking the parrot home. He gave us a ton of advice as we were becoming first time pet owners. He didn’t only help us choose the right parrot for our family but he also assisted in choosing the correct accessories and food for the parrot. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to purchase birds, fish, cats and much more ! They have a ton of variety to choose from.

Experiencia fantástica: I love Pet O Pets! I’ve been a customer for a while now and I’m consistently impressed with their exceptional service and top notch animal care. The owners truly go above and beyond to ensure the health and well being of the animals in their store. This past visit, I had the please of speaking with the owner and it was clear that they are passionate about providing the best possible care for their animals. He shared with me that the store has always passed inspection standards which have me complete confidence in the quality of care provided. Unfortunately I’ve noticed that there are some unfair reviews circulating which seem to be motivated by racism rather than any genuine concerns about the store. It’s disheartening to see small businesses face unfair criticism, especially when they pour their heart into their the business. The owner of Pet O Pets is kind, helpful and genuinely cares about his customers and animals. From talking to him, you can tell that he takes pride in his business and strives to create a welcoming environment for everyone. If you’re looking for a reliable and compassionate pet store, look no further than Pet O Pets. 10/10.

Experiencia negativa: I frequent this flea market quite often, at least once a month for the last 10 years. A while back there was a lady working there who had been very polite and kind in assisting everyone with their pet needs. The last couple of years, the owner of this store has taken charge of it and has left this pet store horribly maintained. He is rude, impolite, and impatient with every single one of his customers. All of the animals in his care are in extreme distress, and I’m surprised that this establishment is still up and running, given how unclean, unkept and inhumane this store is. The birds are constantly Invisible distress and he keeps birds and cages from what it seems from when they are newly hatched; They still open their beaks as if waiting for their mother to drop food in their mouths. The rats and mice are kept with little to no bedding and a very dirty enclosure next to a giant parrot, which causes these pet rodents to get scared quite literally to death. The fish tanks are either overcrowded, under crowded, swamped with algae and other bacteria, or are littered with dead fish. All of the animals in the back, (the more high priced pets) are kept terribly. There are kittens, Barely 5 months old, held in a little space that would really only be suitable for a guinea pig. There are rabbits that I know haven’t been there for at least a year, and are visibly stressed out. The reptiles he keeps in the back, do not even make an appearance as I’m sure that they are being treated poorly as-well. There is a ferret that I had visited two years ago in 2023, Who is still locked up in this very same tiny cage, unsocialized, and terrified of humans. An old friend of mine had wanted To purchase this ferret, and the man was very very rude and not letting us handle it, or give us any information about it. This ferret is living in its own feces, bedding barely ever changed, And has visible Scratching and scars On itself. The animals kept here are being abused point blank. The man running the store does not care for his animals in his Establishment one bit. Why this place hasn’t been torn apart and taken down? I wish I knew. To all of you out there looking to buy things from this store I encourage you to find another store to get your pet needs at. Please do not encourage this type of neglect onto these animals by feeding this money hungry man your money.

Experiencia negativa: Was here the other day and I was absolutely appalled. All of the animals cages are infested with cockroaches, it doesn’t seem like they are cleaned regularly or maybe even at all!! They have kittens in an enclosure (hidden in the back corner of the store) that looks like it’s meant for guinea pigs, and they are charging an extreme price for the neglected kittens, so they will never be adopted. I don’t know how this place even has 3.5 stars, I left feeling horribly depressed and concerned for all of the animals well being, I wish I had photos to post to prove how bad it was but I was so disgusted I had to get out of there as quick as humanly possible

Experiencia fantástica: I went to pet o pet store to buy a pair of gold fish. I was mesmerized by the variation of animals that had, the tanks are clean, the setups were well done. I saw a whole bunch of healthy betta and eventually settled for it. The owner was a honest and knowledgeable man extremely patient gave me top of the line betta tank I never wanted my fish to be alone so he suggested a Betta pairing. He explained how to set the tank up how to acclimatize them. The store has a healthy Macau that itself shows that the store and the owner know the ins and outs of the animals he cares for. I would recommend the store for equipment and pets if you are looking to get one.

Experiencia negativa: Came in to look for fish. Was very disappointed. The owner didn’t want to answer any questions. Very rude in fact. Everyone was kicked out at 5pm even though the google listing says it closed at 6pm. So warning he closes at 5pm and will not catch me my fish because “pet section close at 5pm so everyone must leave”. The pet are kept inhumane. Made me want to save them all. But also did not want to support a store like this. Now thinking back. I am glad I was kicked out.

Experiencia negativa: I can’t believe this place hasn’t been shutdown, these photos and videos speak for themselves. Please report this place to PAWS (Provincial Animal Welfare Services). Shocking animal conditions, sick looking birds, rodents with fur loss, and unclean habitats. That poor little mouse wasn’t even able to get water out of its bottle, and is being fed what seems to be dog food. This should not be allowed to continue.

Experiencia negativa: My experience with this institution was beyond disappointing. I couldn’t believe the lack of empathy and respect the owner gave to me and my family. We came in with sick birds (they told us to come) and he hardly gave them a look and told me and my daughter in front of a number of customers “yeah he’s dead, he’s done. take him away” in the most insensitive tone of voice. The owner treated us so disrespectfully, and was on the phone ignoring us when we came in, but decided to get off the phone when another family walked in? We are also 100% sure he sold us a sick bird, as the bird had a line on his stomach and was very weak from the beginning. This experience has left me and my daughter so upset and bewildered.

Experiencia negativa: Didn't buy anything but I'm concerned about the bunny and guinea pig.. the guinea pig and bunny don't have hay and that is a BASIC need/ MUST for them, the kibbles they were being fed also looked like dog food, I have guinea pigs so i do know a thing about them, and there was no poop in the cage , which is not normal and very concerning when it comes to guinea pigs and is pointing to him being sick and not eating, there was no chew toys for enrichment either, it seems as they aren't being cared for properly and just being left in a cage in the very back it's sad... I wanted to get him but I can't as I have too many pets at home and a newborn....

Experiencia negativa: Let me start by first saying how Very impolite and deceptive the man at the store is. You shouldn’t be working with such loving pets that need care. I called the store enquiring about a baby ring neck parrot. The gentlemen told me he had several at various stages. Considering I would be driving from 1.5 hours away, I ask about price range and if he had babies that were at least 10 weeks old. He said yes and would not give the price. I went for the drive only to show up at the location and to a very impolite store attendant and only one baby ringneck that appeared deformed and had a labeled price tag. The movements of the bird seemed quite odd. I questioned the movements of the bird to which he said, it is because the bird is a baby. He said the bird is 9 to 10 weeks old. The bird is like the size of a buggie. Anyone knowing an Indian ring neck knows that at 10 weeks the bird is petty much at its actual size. The bird is probably not even 5 weeks old. When I ask for more information. He told me after buying the bird he will give me all additional information. Keep in mind, there is a no refund policy. I ask him where are the others and he told me he just sold them. So basically within 1.5 hours, this store assistant sold all the Indian ring necks that he told me he had. Leaving one that was deformed. Mr Sir, whatever your name is. All the birds you have need proper care and adequate space. Your attitude stinks and you are very deceptious and misleading.

Experiencia negativa: Selling cats and kittens as "livestock" online and for criminally high prices is bad enough, but it is VERY clear that these animals are also being mistreated and forced to live in appalling conditions, all so you can make a profit. This is ABUSE and the fact that you are still even allowed to run this "business" of yours is insane, and just goes to show how broken the system is when it comes to animal welfare. DO NOT support this company, as you will also be supporting the neglect and abuse of animals. I hope to see this business closed and these animals sent to compassionate, competent caregivers until they are able to find loving homes for a mere fraction of what you are bold enough to charge.

Experiencia negativa: I do not recommend supporting this pet store. I purchased a hedgehog on Sat. Sept. 14th, 2024 from the Mississauga Pet-O-Pets location (inside the flee market). The sign on the pet's enclosure said "baby hedgehog" for sale but it actually looked like the size of a full-grown adult hedgehog. The owner of this pet store was not able to answer basic questions about the animal such as its age, how long it had been in this store, or its sex (which is actually really easy to tell for hedgehogs). Instead he kept repeating that he was not a hedgehog expert. Once I had taken home the pet and allowed her some time to settle into the new environment, I became aware of the state of her ears and skin. The ears appeared to be very crusty with extremely jagged edges, and there was some quill loss on her body (behind the head and also on her back). Her nails were also extremely overgrown and curling over. The condition of her ears immediately made me concerned about mites (since online searches tell you that the top three reasons for crusty ears are either mites, fungus, or malnutrition), and of course I was also concerned for the health of the animal. I phoned the 1-800-Pet-O-Pets phone line around 5:30pm on Mon. Sept. 16th and spoke with the gentleman from the Mississauga location who sold me the pet. He seemed to think that there could not be any possibility that he would have mites in his pet store and did not offer me any real solution. Frankly I was surprised at the lack of concern on his end because if this was indeed mites that were affecting the pet, then there would be a real risk for this to spread to any of the other animals in my household (or myself?). His only suggestion to me was to give the pet a bath (which I did later many times, but this alone did not help the crusty ear situation at all). After some time on that phone call he then offered to contact the supplier of the hedgehogs and see if they have had any issues with mites. He said that once he heard anything from this that he would give me a call back. It is now October and I never received a call back. I also never received any Email response back from the two different Emails I sent from that time as well (I offered to send photos of the pet's condition and he instructed me to send an Email to "[email protected]"). It seems like this hedgehog was neglected during the time she spent in this pet store. It also seems like the owner does not care about customer service or the state of the animals in his store since I took home an animal in this state. I still await any response back from this pet store owner, and I am still (two weeks later) healing the animal's ears and skin with the help of natural oils and balms. I guess at this point I can only hope that it was not mites to cause this issue but simply poor living conditions in the pet store. At least now the hedgehog is now in a good home with someone actually caring for her.

Experiencia negativa: I knew a friend who worked there and they told me everything…. cockroaches litter the place and actually eat away at the birds. the birds are kept in tiny cages that weren’t aloud to be cleaned for some reason. they plucked at their feathers constantly due to high amounts of stress and the owner would keep 20 birds caged in small cages in the back room and forcibly breed them. the screams of these birds were haunting. the hamsters kill each other because they are starving to the point of resorting to canabilisim. the bunnies and guiana pigs live in small cages basically sleeping on clumped up feces. the macaw, poppy is in a small cage that he barley fits in and is miserable. a bird like that should not be permanently kept in a store suffering as people violate him. the fishes are living in filth and my friend has had to save many fishes from the filter sucking them up! rats also roam around giving many of the animals infections and diseases….. when the animals would come they would come in shoeboxes from pakistan with no food and water. the place was hell which is why my friend quit. also the owner harassed women and was very rude to staff aswell and only paid my friend $12 dollars an hour by cash! so not only is he an animal abuser but a creep aswell and just a greedy scumbag. report this place and don’t even think about going!

Experiencia negativa: Do not support this place. The conditions these animals are being kept in are inhumane—trapped in small cages where they can barely move, surrounded by filth and feces. This is animal abuse in plain sight. I will be calling the appropriate authorities first thing tomorrow morning to report these cruel conditions. Shame on you. Experiencia negativa: They abuse their animals, keep them in inhumane and cruel conditions, and resell them at ridiculously high prices, which means they won’t sell. They’re selling a literal baby litten for a “special sale” of $850. He’s kept in a tiny little box with almost no air holes with her food right beside her bathroom, which causes lung issues. He was slumped over and tired and pawing for help and making biscuits on the door to get out. Animal rescue won’t help unfortunately. This is a terrible terrible company. Shame on them

When I went it was very hot inside, too hot for some of the animals like the kitten in the back and it was inside a glass area which had very little ventilation. That’s not how you should be housing a young kitten. The stench was awful, bugs around the place. This pet store clearly doesn’t have animal welfare in mind and needs to be looked into.

Experiencia negativa: ANIMAL CRUELTY - they are neglecting a 4 month old kitten at a flea market in Mississauga. They are keeping her underneath a ferret enclosure under a shelf. Likely there is very little ventilation as the “enclosure” is no bigger than 2x3 feet and NO AIR HOLES. Her littler is next to the food and water which can make her sick. On top of all that they are trying to sell her for $850. DO NOT SUPPORT AND REPORT THIS STORE. They also have very misleading pics on their website that show their animals in nice and clean environments which is clearly a lie. Shame on this establishment I will be calling animal services

Experiencia negativa: ❗Horrible Experience, DO NOT COME HERE❗ My family and I stopped by this location just to browse. I walked in, greeted the store keeper and he said no food and drinks inside. I had a sealed water bottle and was chewing the last of my snack. I told him it was a closed bottle, but he told me that "you still have food in your mouth, get out from the store." I couldn't believe the AWFUL interaction that I had from just a few seconds upon entering. I wasn't going to post this but I saw many other reveiws indicating the awful nature of the store keeper. Truly a terrible experience. The store was not even well kept and prepared and options were lacking. Please STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, and all the best to the owners. They're going to need it because that store was so dirty and empty, no wonder why people don't come here.

I bought a bird there, and in couple of days it showed some strange symptoms, took my bird to a doctor and they said its virus. Bird is not ok, and will not live long. And it’s expensive to extend my bird’s life. Stay away from this store!

Experiencia negativa: This store is really small and its fairly hot inside. I went here to get isopods for my collection and they didn't really have anything from their website listed aside from dairy cows. Bring your own substrate for the ride home if you go here since they do not put moss or any amount of dirt in the container and that may stress the animals a bit. I had to moisten a few paper towels and add to the container myself to make sure they would not dry out.

Experiencia negativa: My husband I came into the pet store hoping to buy a bird. As soon as we enter there's a big parrot out of his cage. The owner was standing there and didnt even greet us and pretended like we weren't there. I went to pet the parrot and the first thing this man yells is "DONT PET THE PARROT MOVE FROM HIM!" And angrily wacks a sign on the other side of the cage that says "do not pet". I went on and continued looking through the store not even addressing his lack of manners. A few minutes later, i hear another customer being told off. If customers are coming in from the other side of the cage, wouldn't it make sense to put the warning sign where customers come in and can see it right away? As well, a bit of respect and a calmer way of saying it or addressing the issue would have been appreciated. His animals look depressed, half dead, unkept, and barely hanging on to life. Good luck to this maniac.

Experiencia fantástica: previously, I got two budgies, and so far, they were well until I got another from a different pet store which didn't seem to get too much care so I highly recommend buying from this store as the birds are taken care of, also I'm wondering if they have crimson conures or green cheek conure variants that just have more color plumage on them?

Experiencia negativa: Very rude. A man, maybe the owner, yelled when I had a hot dog on my hand, ‘no food allowed, can you read the sign’. For sure I am not going back to this store.

Experiencia negativa: Please be aware of this poor excuse for a business because that is all it is just a business with no care or responsibility for its animals or the products they sale. The place is very unsanitary it smells of poop and the animals are housed in cruel conditions. This is extremely irresponsible and inhumane on how they keep and treat their animals! The owner was very rude , unprofessional and careless. This place needs to be reported for violating animal rights and regulations. The poor animals are sick and need help!! They sale these sick animals to innocent customers that want to care for a pet and give it a home. Please be aware and go else where this place is absolutely disgusting.

Experiencia fantástica: I walked in told him the bird I wanted he grabbed everything I needed as I knew I was new to a cockatiel. He explained everything in details about the bird and feeding and how to take care of him. I like that I can call and ask questions. Bird is healthy and happy. And every animal in the store looks healthy and happy. Overall I will be going back there. The guy there knew so much and was better than any other pet store I went into. The knowledge he has is amazing. Not fake comment either

Experiencia negativa: There really should be signage advertising this store is NOT dog/pet-friendly as it’s pretty standard for pets to be permitted in, well… a pet store. Our very brief visit confirmed what we’d read in negative reviews before going: cages and tanks of the animals for sale kept in deplorable and very dirty conditions, entire place stunk of feces and ammonia immediately upon opening the door, and animals kept in inappropriate enclosures. Absolutely would not return or spend my money here.

Experiencia fantástica: First time going today to get bird food from this location. It is a very clean store with many different types of birds, fish, and many more. All the animals seem in good shape and lots of room to play. As a reviewer of Google map, what I do not understand is why some people complained about the conditions of the birds. I have seen all the birds with my own eyes. Some are very young while others are grown. They all seemed well fed and happy. I believe I have spoken to the owner or an employee today, he was very knowledgeable about my type of bird. He gave many suggestions which I was not aware of before. I definitely recommend this place.

Experiencia negativa: I went into this store today and saw a rabbit there laying on its side, barely breathing and looked like it was dying. This was extremely heartbreaking and a disgusting environment for all the animals I saw in this store. This place needs to be reported for animal abuse.

Experiencia negativa: Who gave this store 5 stars review? This is absolutely awful the way birds are housed there. Tiny cages foot by foot with multiple birds in it. Absolutely heart breaking. Why is this even allowed? One of some violet pretty parrot was definitely in need of medical attention , sitting shaking in a corner. Sell supplies, but this place should be allowed to sell live animals if it can't care for them.

Experiencia negativa: Birds are not well taken care of - they are all crammed in a cage and they look extremely unhealthy and uncared for. I went there recently to take a look at the budgies and saw 5 birds huddled together looking extremely sick. This place is pure animal abuse.

Experiencia negativa: Bought a betta from here and despite giving it the best care and proper living conditions, he died in less than a year. Even PetSmart bettas I've bought lived longer. Buyer beware.

Experiencia fantástica: Honestly, if you want someone to teach you the best natural way to set up a thriving habitat for your animal… this is the guy to talk to. We wanted an axolotl and had searched everywhere and asked so many people for advice and no one seemed to have the sort of knowledge I needed in order to setup the best habitat for one. (For me, best is the most natural simulation of their derivative habitat) I ended up visiting him multiple times and asked so many questions. His love for his animals and knowledge go so far beyond standard pet stores. He spent so much time with us. Answering all of our questions and helped us custom build our tank for our new little addition. If you want a traditional pet store experience this isn’t it…but if you want the best quality of life for your animal… come in with an open mind and ask for his advice. Amazing experience for me and my family.

Experiencia negativa: I bought a conure from here. It’s very cool but all the prices here are to much. And this one time me and my mom came here to clip my birds nails one of the man that work here had a really awful tone and very disrespectful. We brought the bird and he got pissed of that the cage we brought was not see through and told us to get out of here. (we brought a carrier box that they gave us when we bought him)

Experiencia negativa: terrible customer service. sold me faulty tank and will not give a refund. before I purchased the tank, the employee was super rude and didn’t care about any customers in the store, was very rude and too busy talking on his phone. terrible. go to pet smart, way more knowledgeable and friendly. not to mention they stand behind their products.

Here's what I loved: - the birds were clean and healthy - they were fed HARI approved formula and pallets not regular seeds - they didn't lie about the age (mostly are babies) - they clip the birds only if you ask for - the birds were not from a third party breeder but they have their own aviary 10 weeks BCC

Experiencia negativa: Too many birds placed in tiny cages together. They pass city inspection, but that's only because the requirementsare to just keep them alive (not happy and fulfilled). The way the birds are kept is inhumane. I recommend people looking for birds to search for ethical breeders to buy from. Sad because they had a beautiful bird I would have loved to take home. Sell dome top bird cages although it's well known that rounded cages/dome tops increase risk of injury. Claim to care about birds but will sell the cages that could harm them? Customer service & product selection are great for harder to find items but the way the birds are kept makes my lose hope in humanity.

Experiencia negativa: I recently purchased a replacement motor for my FX4 filter. I made the purchase on May 1st. A MONTH LATER IT HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED WORKING. How is is possible that’s a NEW motor stops working a MONTH after the purchased date. It’s very disappointing since this item is hard to acquire & isn’t very cheap to replace. I emailed the company in hope that someone could help or explain why this item is no longer working but have yet to hear back from anyone. I sent another email. I hope to hear from them soon. I am located in the United States and took my chances ordering from this company. My mistake! I hope no one makes the same mistake as me. My advice just look for an alternative store to get a replacement part & don’t bother giving them your money.

Experiencia negativa: I can understand why this store has some low ratings… First, the place is not clean. All the products were coated in dust, and there is a very strong odour. I didn't last long in the store. Prices are high as well. But, the hardest thing to witness was all the birds crammed into small plastic boxes/cages. There was five cockatiels in one of the "cages." The birds looked sick. I would not be comfortable taking one home. I left without buying anything. Didn't feel right.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to this store last week. Wanted to get pallets for my parrot. I read some reviews here before going in. If you own a parrot and looking for cheaper food, just go to bulk barn. Prices are different in every store same way price of milk in different grocery stores, but I could find easily what I was looking for. Store has smell but it didn't bother me. Some reviews suggested that the store has too many sick birds. THIS IS NOT TRUE! I have owned several parrots and have experienced with them for over 15 years and the birds he has have no issues that I could see.

Experiencia fantástica: Don’t believe the negative comments, I went in today to pick up a terrarium I ordered online. The owner was kind, light hearted, and an overall very nice person, I don’t know what the people interacting with him are like, but the reviews saying he’s a bad person are hilariously inaccurate. No bad smells like some reviews say, it’s crazy how convinced I was that I was going to have a bad time heading there today; I left with a smile on my face, and my terrarium, exactly when it was supposed to be ready for pick up. I will continue to use this shop for my reptile needs

Experiencia negativa: I rarely if ever review a place unless I have something good to say but if I save you a trip to this establishment it will be worth my time. The owner of this place was rude and unhelpful, his behaviour was that of a spoiled child. It felt like asking him any question about any of the products was a hassle. I highly recommend going elsewhere.

Experiencia negativa: I was in this store today to look for birds. The person in the store was in the middle of cleaning the bird cages. I was acknowledged with a look and no words. I asked for the price of a bird and was answered by being pointed in the direction of the price tag. No words, no response and no acknowledgement. I walked out and no attempt to even talk to me. I was so uncomfortable. I felt relieved when I walked out of the store. It was such a wired experience

Experiencia negativa: Decided to try this place out to support a local business. Unfortunately this place is unbelievably kept, the smell of animal waste is extremely foul. The shop was overall very dirty with bugs flying around and the animals seemed to be crammed into small cages together. Dead chicken in the freezer not in a bag just laying against the grate. the rabbit in the back was kept in a small cage and had no food or water during my visit. The fish tank was so green that I didn’t even know it was a gold fish tank until they were almost flesh with the glass. Took my business elsewhere because I cannot support a place like that. Try big al's aquarium only a few more minutes down the road.

Experiencia fantástica: Drove all the way from Wasaga Beach to get a conure for my daughter. Amazing experience and learnt some valuable information on care which was very helpful. We love our new addition to our family . Looking forward to getting an Indian Ringneck in the very near future from them. Definitely 5 star rating.

Experiencia negativa: It is the worst place i have have been visted. I sent there and bought two different fish and the man there put it for me in one bag. After one week one fish dead. I went to the store again to ask the man why the fish dead he answered me why i put it to gather in one container. Serously, this man there big cheater even he didn't tell me or Advise when i am i bought it. The store deserve 0 star

Experiencia fantástica: I have been going to Pet O Pets for a few years now and they are absolutely fantastic. The owner is so knowledgeable with all animals and is amazing with my parrot. He truly shows love to the animals and I highly Recommend if anyone is looking at buying a pet, especially a parrot. He grooms my parrot every month. They are a family run business and I love supporting family businesses instead of the big chain companies. Both their Mississauga and Burlington locations are amazing.

Experiencia negativa: Thought it would be an improvement of the oakville location but is much worse. Animals are in questionable conditions, the smell is awful even by petstore standards and the merchandise is generally overpriced, no reason to go here rather than order online for your exotic pet needs. The layout is also needlessly tight and awkward, space could be better used considering most shelves are not that full. Cannot speak to the knowledge of the proprioter but would say they are more geared towards birds than reptiles. Probably with a deep clean and re-arranging could be a nice store but as is wouldn't recommend supporting this business. Aditionally should mention livestock is overpriced, same as the oakville location where they were peddling a scrawny halmahara bluetongue for 400$ (not reflective of the animal's worth in that condition), which sat in the same corner for more than a year, I'm pretty sure they did not clean the glass once as there was a lot of mineral build up. Could tell it was the same lizard, also question its origin as it was very flighty, (not helped by the fact that it was kept close to the ground where humans most likely seem like predators to it). As a bluetongue owner, very sad to see an animal in this state, almost wanted to buy him out of pity but the price point is basically extortion and he would likely have been replaced with another one anyway. I understand charging petstore prices for merch but please don't ask prices like these for unsocialized and malnourished animals. Would love to see these stores improve, I'm sure their business would be better off for it.

Experiencia negativa: After purchasing a Netherland dwarf rabbit from this store, i wouldn't recommend anyone else do the same, and the only reason i gave them 1 star is because of how fast they found a rabbit for me. When u purchase a rabbit from this store you have no information on what you're going to get. You don't know if its male or female, you have no info about its personality and you don't even know its age. The rabbit i bought from them has a pesonality that I really dont like and i called them asking if i could return it. I was told no. So they picked out a bad rabbit and now im stuck with this problem because they won't even take it back at no cost to them. My advice is to use a site like kijiji. Not only will you know if its a male or female, but you can actually ask questions about the animals personality as well as seeing what the animal looks like, which you don't get from petopets. You have no idea what the animal will look like that you have to pay for in advance. On top of all that, you'd pay about 1/4 the price of what petopets sells you the animal for. I paid $65 for this problem rabbit and could have got one off kijiji for $20 or less

Experiencia negativa: Their website makes the store seem like they really care about their animals and have really good customer service. I called to speak to someone about making an appointment and was immediately put off when they answered. They were talking to someone else when they answered and didn't even stop to ask me to hold on for a few moments or anything of the sort. I was waiting for them for about a minute before they addressed me at all. If they're treating a potential paying customer like that then I don't think they'd be treating their animals any better. I will not be supporting this business.

Experiencia negativa: Poor animals. Like 10 rats in a tiny enclosure, the hamsters all together like 10+ , they didn’t know gender and the baby hamsters were getting eaten by the bigger ones. Saw one bloodied up, the parrot was aggressive it tried to bite us when we were passing by he told us to stay far .. just keep it in the cage then.When I purchased a hamster they taped the box shut. Idk how it could breath. Bad service. I do not recommend

Experiencia negativa: Awful service and they mistreat their birds. The cages are much too small and the handling of the birds is aggressive. The workers are uninformative and offer wing clipping and are giving false information about it to the customers. This place should be shut down, it is inhumane.

Experiencia negativa: 0 stars if we could 10:20 still not open then comes in and asks through door what we want instead of opening and allowing us into store. We advised we are there for the birds told us it opens at 11. Needless to say won’t be getting our business. I hope someone from animal control actual takes a look at this place and makes sure they are treating these poor animals right. Seemed like he was hiding something so unfortunate for those animals. Warning would not buy from someone who can’t be nice to customers who want so spend money in their store imagine how they treat those poor animals. Awful place

Experiencia negativa: Liars and fraudsters work there. I bought two hamsters and woman in the shop said they are males. We especially asked this question and received the clear answer. After two weeks one of them gave a birth and another started eating own children. My daughter and wife were shocked. Then I tried to return hamsters these fraudsters said that their policy doesn't include returns or refunds. They both didn't want to talk to me and proposed to donate these hamsters if I don't want to keep them. Liars and fraudsters, I am very disappointed.
