Experiencia fantástica: Please save your time!!! Do not go anywhere else but HERE. I am new to the world of aquatics and I want to at least 10 different stores asking multiple questions. Finatics one of the few places where they showed patience and passion. Never brushed me away no matter how entry level my questions were. Every single staff in that store is helpful. I come from Vaughan just to do business here at Finatics. Shoutout to Abby as well!

Experiencia fantástica: We're new to the world of aquariums, and over the past two weeks, we've visited several places like Big Al's and PetSmart. However, Finatics has definitely stood out as the cleanest and most organized. We went to check this store out today, JUNE 28 and they have a great variety of fish, and everything is well-maintained. The staff is also really knowledgeable. We were assisted by a young man, probably a teenager or in his early 20s, who was very patient and gave us lots of helpful information. We’ll definitely be returning!

Experiencia negativa: 5 star for the fish tho. They are hardy and strong. Unlike big ALs. The fish from here are unique, good selection and don’t die on you. Can survive transport and are confident fish. They don’t hide and have great appetite. Store was ok, along with the quality of fish. Staff consistently ignore you and you have to wait 35 minutes before you are helped. Luckily after 45 minutes of waiting a super nice guy just started his shift and helped us out. He’s the only reason this post is getting two stars. Otherwise it would be a 1star review. Constantly understaffed, trash management and the staff had to adept bad attitudes just to get through the shift of constant over working. Shift manager should be disappointed in themselves and should be hiring more staff.

Experiencia negativa: I’ve been a customer here before, but unfortunately, this store isn’t what it used to be. The staff felt dismissive both on the phone and in person—not the welcoming or helpful experience you'd hope for when dealing with live animals. The real disappointment came after purchasing a group of Tetras. I noticed visible bruising on some fish right after acclimating them. I called the store immediately and was told it was “fine” and they'd recover. Less than 24 hours later, 3 of them were dead in my well-established, stable aquarium with perfect water parameters and other fish. Quality and customer care seem to have dropped significantly. Sadly, I won’t be returning after this experience.

Experiencia positiva: Tanks look very clean and fish look healthy. Lighting is good so you can actually see in the place. They have a decent selection but sometimes hard to know what you’re looking at because of the mixed tanks and unlabelled. Prices are a little steep but I guess if someone wants to spend the money then it is what it is.

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely love Finatics! When I got into fish keeping, I quickly realized that PetSmart wasn’t going to cut it - I needed more variety. That’s when I went on my search for a better fish shop and started coming here. Johnny quickly became a friendly face that we saw often. He is hardworking, knowledgeable and just a great asset to the company! We always know we are in good hands when he’s around. The owner is also very friendly and will answer any questions you have. Every single time we come in, someone is cleaning a tank. They love their fish and it shows! They have been very helpful and I love all the different products they carry here :) will be back many times over!!

The staff is highly knowledgeable and passionate about the hobby, and many, if not all of them have aquariums at home, which really shows in their expertise. They have a great selection of fish, plants, rocks, décor, and supplies, all of excellent quality. Even when the store is busy, they always take the time to help and offer great advice. Prices are reasonable, and the overall experience has been great. I'm really glad I found this place early on in my aquarium journey—definitely a top spot for any hobbyist!

Experiencia fantástica: Visited again last Sunday and was impressed with the renovations. This store is 2hrs from my home and trust me, its worth the drive. Great selection for just about anyone, but as a keeper of strictly Tanganyikan Cichlids, their selection has to be the best in Ontario (possibly Canada). The staff are great, knowledgeable but I want to give a special mention to Sam, who was amazing and went above and beyond. You can tell Mike takes pride in his store, tanks are clean, organized and grouped well. Looking forward to my next visit.

Experiencia negativa: Went there. Their website isnt even updated. They didnt have half the stock they said they do. Waste of a drive. And good care of fish? Most of the tanks had multiple dead fish. Ive seen chain petstores have less dead fish.

Experiencia fantástica: Visited this store a month ago or so. Found the person there to be honest and sincere. I think the gentleman's name was Amir. Provided me with some advice/guidance so that I could purchase some fish for my tank, whilst ensuring that I do not purchase more than my tank can accommodate. This gentleman went above and beyond by sharing insights on their business amongst actually a free plant!!

This is the place you need to visit as your jumping off point! This is absolutely one of the top fish stores in the GTA.

We didn't catch the name of the person who helped us- he has a shrimp farm we would have followed on Instagram if we had it! Inspired us to want to try a shrimp farm for the next set up. When this happens we will definitely be returning to this location for our purchases. The fish love the moss coconut and shells we purchased. Great location.

Experiencia negativa: It's the second time I bought fishes from them... first time very next day fishes started dying.. even after following proper process of transferring from bag to acquarium. I called couple of times as I lost entire batch of 8 fishes in 1 week... they blamed me.. I thought may be I did something wrong.. Yesterday I went again and bought another batch.. to my surprise they have started dying again. :( all my old fishes and one from other stores are fine...just from them keep dying. Messaged them on Instagram last time.. no response. Never going back.

Experiencia fantástica: After my tank has been established for more than 2 weeks I guess I could give a honest review. The store is really spacious, clean and easy to shop but the label on the tanks could give more details and instructions, I could only understand their system after I quickly talked to Mike the owners. The variation of species and tank set up are all really impressive, this store actually motivates me to go back to the hobby after I was so busy with life for a while. Price is reasonable considering you will have healthier fishes. I have all rock and plants from them - love the plants on driftwood even it is on the pricer price. I get all my fish from here too like my picture of my tank I posted here, mostly they survive and thrilling except some but it is my mistake of not doing my research and my tank is too new. The other Mike is really helpful I enjoy to talk to him a lot, and Sammy the helper is a great guy too. The only thing I wish Mike the owner could open to talk more and sharing more since I know he has been running the store for greatness for so long

Experiencia fantástica: I was in town for an exam and had a minute to kill afterwards. It is a really, really nice clean shop. The owner was very busy and still took time to answer some of my questions. I even heard him grill a guy about his setup before he would sell him certain cichlids(respect). I asked him about some nano fish and the super cute girl working there came over to help and was really informed and helpful. Ya gotta love beautiful "fish enthusiast" girls.

Mike and Abby were extremely helpful and knowledgeable helping us decide what our first fish should be. Any question we had was answered in great detail. The store has many tank's...BUT unfortunately very few fish in most of them...poor selection !! Several tank's also had fish "not for sale" due to fish being sick (appeared sick)...other tanks had dead fish floating around (is it that difficult to catch and remove dead fish???...store wasn't busy and had staff around)...others had price tags that said "NO Guarantee" I was shocked to see tank's also had signs saying "NO PICKS"...what's with that??? Lazy staff/management??? Tank's have very few fish to chase !! POOR customer service/NO customer appreciation !!! (I NEVER had an issue at Bigals/others asking for a specific fish !!) Where is customer service at this store??? Shame!!! As for..."Live" Plants...ALL looked like the leaves were melting...plants way over priced...some $39.99...I wouldn't pay $1.00 for any plant !!...in fact...even if free...I wouldn't waist my time trying to plant !!! I think many reviews for this store are from staff, family and friends... First and last visit...I'll stick with Bigals/others...better selection, quality, price...and a points program's to boot!! ***UPDATE to owners review response below: No mention of outrageous prices for plants melting...$39+ tells it all... Other stores do mark the "ODD" tank "new arrival - not for sale" Fish purchased at other fish/pet store's are healthy and doing well...thanks !! I'm not ONLY referring to fish purchased at Bigals !!!...and I DON'T work at a fish/pet store...have kept fish for 30+ years as a hobby... Other businesses have how many locations???...PROVEN...price, selection, QUALITY and customer service !!! As for your comment "jealous what you built"...LOL...anyone can keep water in tanks !!! Very helpful staff as well helped me out with getting some shrimps for the tank I made for my kids! Highly recommend you check them out if you're in the GTA!

Experiencia negativa: When a entered the store to look around I saw many workers concentrated on the fish but not too concentrating customer service because let’s face it keeping a beautiful and clean shop doesn’t pay the bills You could have gotten a sale that day but no one was really asking me for any assistance like other shops do Personal note to owner is have your employees concentrate on customers and not on the fish which they do when they have time because the shop wasn’t really busy at the time there where maybe 3 customers in total at the time Try bid al’s way which is customer service first and fish later. Good like with your method

Experiencia fantástica: I have been a customer of Finatics for more than 1 year now. Their fishes are healthy, store is very clean and has no bad smell at all. Their prices are reasonable and they share their knowldege if you ask them for advice. I went this time to buy a hideout for my kuhli loaches but ended up buying a ceramic stone cave instead which replaced my decor. My betta and kuhlis LOVE the stone cave. They go and hide inside it altogether. I will keep buying fishes and aquarium needs from Finatics. So worth the drive there.

They went above and beyond by not only helping us set up our tank but also generously providing all the supplies we needed for my kindergarten classroom which was also free of charge! One of the employees, Abby, was so passionate and informative about the fish. Her knowledge, friendliness, and willingness to assist was truly outstanding! This all made it a memorable and positive visit to the store. My students are SO happy that we now have pet fish in our class. We couldn't be happier thanks to the team at Finatics Aquarium!

Experiencia fantástica: So I have been a customer of theres for about 5 years on and off because I got curious about saltwater. So since they deal in freshwater i was mostly buying filter floss and food. Maintence stuff. I got the bug again for freshwater plantted tank with nano fish. SAM and Mike couldn't of been more helpful. Both those guys have alot of knowledge and pass it down in a way I can understand. I get a sense there not there to just have you spend spend spend. The stores well kept and growing. I will definetly be a future customer thanks to those two. Even thou its a 20 min drive down the highway and i got a big als like two blocks away. Im a Finatic !

Had these parrot fish for 2 years with no problems and the severums have been added a few months back with no issues thanks to these guys I've been loving my 120 gallon

Experiencia fantástica: This is an awesome aquarium store. They had a very large selection of fresh water fish. There was a good mix of cichlids from all around the world, lots of other great freshwater fish. The fish I got from Finatics were healthy and didn't cause any issues in my tanks. The staff were also friendly and knowledgeable.

Appears to specialize in African cichlids, but nonetheless has a good selection of interesting community fish along with one of the best selections of South American cichlids (including Apistogramma and similar species) in the GTA. Very highly recommended.

Went to Finatics and asked if the fish could be bagged since they would be in the bucket for around 8 hours and won't make it. Immediately Randy the supervisor said bring them in and got to it. The service was impeccable. Thank you so much for the help you provided to bring the fish home safely. They have a very good selection of fish, accessories and food. I would recommend this shop for anyone. Even worth just to pass by. In short the best shop in Ontario
