Experiencia fantástica: Kevin was a fantastic tour guide very informative my daughter loved it too. Very interesting facts about all the fish and sea life in Achill Aquarium. Great to see the tools from the past too. All 3 adults and 1 child had a fantastic time would definitely recommend. Lovely gift shop too.

Experiencia fantástica: Very impressed with our tour guide Kevin, he made sure we were well informed without overloading us with info and was funny too! We had been before a number of years ago and it was great to see they have expanded the aquarium with more tanks. Our kids enjoyed it too and the sensory pod is a fun addition to the space too!

Experiencia fantástica: Did the tour of the Aquarium with two young kids. Not the biggest Aquarium you will ever enter but really enjoyable experience. The tour guide ( Kevin) was very informative and involved the kids. Would recommend visiting when in the area. Would look up tour times before arriving, we arrived mid tour so had to wait 30mins for the next one. Nice sized gift shop there also.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing little spot. Wealth of knowledge in a 45 minute tour. I especially liked hearing about how the sea and it's residents have changed over centuries. Don't be fooled by its small size, not to be missed! Nice little gift shop too.

Experiencia fantástica: Lovely place with loads to see and learn and friendly staff. Nice little shop and place to have your packed lunch together with a coffee or tea. There is even a sensory place fir children with additional needs.

Experiencia fantástica: A brilliant place to visit in Achill! It is small but the guides make it good crack with lots of stories and interesting things to see and learn as you go. Our little ones loved it particularly the part of sticking your head through the bubble in the tank and also searching for a Snoofish. Nice gift shop attached with lots of lovely things. Experiencia fantástica: Lovely aquarium, tours are every hour. The staff are lovely and very welcoming. There is a small café with great hot chocolate and a gift shop where you can wait until the tour begins. Perfect for a rainy day in Achill.

Experiencia fantástica: I would happily go here again. So much to learn about our coastlines and still many things we have yet to discover. The tour guide is really enthusiastic, knowledgeable and approachable and you can sense his passion for his role which makes it really engaging. Not all fish are kept captive and are released when they hit their milestones which I love. There should be more aquariums like this, showing and educating us what is in our coastal and inland waters.

One of our unique abilities here in the Achill Experience is our ability to release some of our residents back into the ocean as we try to avoid chemicals and only use natural sea water straight from the Atlantic. Our main mission when we established the aquarium was always to focus on the local sea life that sometimes does not get the same recognition or awareness it truly deserves, as Ireland has a thriving marine ecosystem that sadly needs protecting. Experiencia fantástica: Popped in while on spin for my partner's birthday. Greeted by a lovely lady (whose name I sadly missed), who straight away made the place so welcoming. Then, took the short tour with Kevin, who was an absolute legend, and an absolute font of knowledge, and whose obvious love for what he is doing, really shone through! He did not stop smiling and joking (joking in a great way!) the entire way through. Also had a great chat with him at the end, for a little additional background on the centre, and what they do. Then, when leaving, a different lady was on the counter - again, absolutely lovely - super friendly. Centre: 10/10 Staff: 10000/10 Overall: Will 100% be back, likely repeatedly!

Experiencia positiva: Very very small aquarium with over priced souvenirs. Not worth the money when compared similar places in Ireland. Might be interesting for kids but will recommend for adults.

Yes we are a small aquarium, however we are also home to over 100 different marine species with many being native to Irish waters. Through our guided tours we aim to cater for all ages and raise awareness about our native sea life in a fun yet educational manner. As for pricing, compared to other establishments around Ireland we believe we are competitively priced and provide great value for money. Experiencia fantástica: Brilliant tour!!! I wasn’t expecting much being honest, but legit was 10/10. The different fish were very varied and it wasn’t just your normal run of the mill stuff. Host was brilliant, gave us very interesting info. Initially wasn’t sure bait going in, but 100% it’s worth the money so do it!

Experiencia fantástica: What a fantastic experience, what a visit, what a guide. What lovely people. I have been to many european aquariums and never enjoyed a visit as much. Generally I would walk around without such information being fed to you as you journey. The guide made this aquarium visit so unique. The pools where you get a hands on experience combined with knowledge. A beach visit could overlook so many of natures creatures hiding in their natural habit. Its a must for all at any age a true pleasure both educational and fun. Along with the guded tour there is a large amount of marine history to absorb. There is a shop with a multitude of lovely gifts to purchase and a place to have coffee. The area also has a great view of Minaun Cliffs. Can't wait to return.

Experiencia fantástica: One of the best aquariums our family has been too, despite its small size. The tanks were set-up well to showcase the animals and keep them comfortable. The guide was entertaining and very passionate about the animals and educating visitors about the local sea life. There are also local history exhibits and a well-stocked gift shop. Absolutely a must-see if you are visiting Achill with children.

Experiencia negativa: The staff was friendly, but the price was far too high for the small rooms. There are three tiny sections: one with two tanks and the other with maybe six to eight tanks. We expected much more and left after 20 minutes, totally disappointed!!! The guide's information was nice for children but quite boring and umneccessary for adults. The good recommendations didn't make any sense to us. We also had to wait 30 minutes for the tour to begin, even though we were told we could walk around freely. However, we were done after just 5 minutes because, as mentioned, the place is tiny. It's not worth it, I've never seen such a small aquarium before.

Yes, we are a small aquarium, however despite this we are home to over 100 different marine and fresh water species that are predominantly native to Ireland, with some being found around the Indo-Pacific and South America. We are also not privately owned but instead are a community lead initiative aimed at promoting and raising awareness of the diversity and importance of our Oceans through interactive tours. Our passionate and knowledgeable guides always strive to make each tour a fun and educational experience for all demographics and so far, the guided tours have been welcomed positively as having a human being explain the unique characteristic of our marine residents and to answer questions, allows the tours to be more interactive rather than reading information on a board or screen. We also have a visitors’ centre that explores the unique history and traditions of Achill, documentaries on the shark fishing industry and a replica Boley house filled with genuine artefacts from the Deserted Village. This is included in the entrance fee and if compared to other similar venues is competitively priced. While your experience may have been negative, we hope you may give us another chance and visit us again as we would be more than happy to welcome you back to the Achill Experience.

Experiencia positiva: We went yesterday, lasted 45 minutes before the next tour had to start. The tour guide was really good and you can tell he loves talking about fish etc. Its really small but I would of stayed longer, a woman came in to tell the guide the next tour was starting in a minute so it felt rushed, couldn't really look around properly. It's probably different during quiter times.came out with alot of interesting facts and kids loved it

The Aquarium slots are 45 mins long with a tour guide talk for normally 20 – 25 mins long. It is normally enough time to see all our sea creatures and enjoy the tour. We also have our history museum where you can visit for as long as you wish. I do hope you get to visit us again.

The aquarium tour guide was really fantastic, he was very enthusiastic about the wildlife and incredibly knowledgable. Experiencia fantástica: This place was recommended at our B&B and we weren't disappointed. The aquarium is principally displaying local sea creatures although there are some from further afield. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable making the whole experience very worthwhile. A coffee lounge and gift shop are a welcome break. The museum was about local history and very well displayed. We went on to see the deserted village afterwards which is just down the road and we had background knowledge before we arrived there.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is wonderful we were kindly greater at the door the admission was extremely inexpressible for 2 Adults and 3 children the gift shop has huge selection and was very inexpressive the whole decor of the place was very well thought out and gorgeous you really felt like you were under the sea the tour guides/ speakers are full of information and are extremely kind and friendly they are very personal and involve everyone I couldn’t drag the children away they were so Interested the selection of fish was unreal the little bits I got in the gift shop were cheap and gorgeous and I hope will last for a long time the Achill experience is based in a gorgeous part of the county you are over looking the sea and the mountains and some very friendly sheep the drive to the Achill experience was stunning we got to see lovely beaches mountains sheep and the lovely deserted village which is so infesting I will hopefully come back next year

The place was well kept and the guys there are enthusiastic and excited about what they do which was really fun to experience and learn from. This experience is good for all ages, and a genuine hidden gem which i would highly recommend visiting.
