Experiencia fantástica: Eddie and Lewis did a brilliant job designing and creating the pond, I know the ground was hard work partly due to being so dry and partly just terrible soil but they carried on in the blazing sun! They we’re polite, friendly, very helpful and they tidied everything up before they left. Also the people I spoke to in store and over the phone couldn’t have been more helpful. It was a pleasurable experience with a great outcome

Experiencia negativa: Really did not like this place. The staff were intrusive to the point of being peculiar and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. They weren't asking if I needed help or anything, just following me around so closely I actually nearly bumped into one of them when I turned around. Thought it was someone trying to pick my pocket initially as he didn't say anything, just sort of stared at me and then walked off back behind the till. I just left in the end and won't be going back.

The staff gave excellent advice and spent plenty of time helping us understand our options and what would work for us. Bought the parts on the day and have been very happy with the pump/filter performance for our needs.

Experiencia negativa: I was told I could keep 5 electric blue rams together in a 72 litre tank, i have done a lot of research and have been advised to keep only 2 in this size of tank as fighting would be an issue, paid a deposit of over £30 and when I spoke to shop they said in there experience would not be an issue. Not happy to just 'try so said they can keep deposit. Wouldn't use again

Experiencia fantástica: We had small fry that meant there were too many for our pond. I found it really difficult to re-home these fish as I wanted them to be looked after. The fish and pond centre were really accommodating. We took them yesterday and the specialist was so knowledgeable, checked the fish over and then tested our pond water. He was brilliant and told us what was the problem and how to reduce the ammonia level as it's toxic to fish. They go over and above. Thanks

We was only setting up a small nature pond, But she was so helpful...we brought a pump/ filter and lots of plants.. on her recommendation. Today we visited with four of our grandchildren.. they all wanted to pick a small goldfish. We met Christian today.. He was so patient with the children.. obviously they wanted that fish.. pointing to one out of hundreds.. but Christian was so good with them and got them all the fish they wanted.. Massive thank you. We have four very happy grandchildren.. we hope chips, fish finger,Dora,Alfie and Spot are happy in our lovely pond..

Had to wait to go in as they're one of the rare places that take the pandemic seriously & have one in one out policy, but that's not a problem as you can then get a one to one with an expert. Very friendly atmosphere & they will test your aquarium water for free to see if you can have any fish yet.

Experiencia negativa: I have been to this shop many times.. but after today’s experience never again! Today my family have been turned away from the shop by staff as my wife was not wearing a mask because she is medically exempt. We informed the staff as to why my wife was not wearing a mask but they weren’t interested. They were allowing children in without a mask who are exempt under the same legislation but not adults. I informed them also that they were probably breaking the law under the Equality Act and the Disability Discrimination Act but all we got were shrugged shoulders...absolutely pathetic response in my opinion. I think many companies using the current coronavirus situation to justify breaking the law will be remembered after the pandemic is over...I will certainly never set foot in there again.

Experiencia fantástica: I am never in the habit of writing reviews but i am afraid that Christian, the owner of Fish and Pond Centre has made me change my mind about this. Just on 2 years ago I bought an Oase BioPress 10,000 set and some fish from them and was served by his sister Lara, who gave excellent, professional advice about setting up the pond, stocking with fish and the maintenance thereof. The Oase did come with a 2 year guarantee. One week before the expiry of the guarantee, I noticed a fault with the ballast that serves the UV system and promptly went to see Christian. Without quibble, Christian and Chris both served me, tested the ballast unit and confirmed that indeed there was a fault and exchanged the system for a brand new one - fitting the plug and bulb and even supplying me with a sample of "See your Bottom Again" free of charge. The service and warm hospitality that I received from the both of them was 'par excellence' and nothing was too much trouble for them at all. The joke about "you cannot complain about the service -there isn't any!" does not stick here. the service and after-sales service is 5 star. the advice that was given to me and what I have learnt from Christian will serve me well in keeping my pond and fish happy. (True to form - my pond had gone green in colour - but upon adding the "See your Bottom Again" mixture to the pond, was amazed that after 48 hours i could indeed see the fish swimming merrily on the bottom of my 2 metre deep pond.) I cannot recommend the advice and the products that Christian and team have given to me more, other than to see that I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the whole team and their quality of service that they give to their customers. Their prices of both fish and goods are also very keen and affordable - I will definitely be back! 10/10.

Experiencia negativa: Called today to ask if the shop had reopened now that the lockdown had started to ease. We were hoping to travel from Bedford to get some advise about starting a wildlife pond. We hoped to have a chat with someone about what we needed and the best way to go about it and buy what was recommended to begin our pond. The member of staff on the phone told me that he would have to prioritise “paying customers” over me and they were not open to customers “intending to browse”. He made it clear that we wasn’t welcome to do that. He made us feel like time wasters. When starting something like this it’s important to have someone to guide you in the right direction. Customer service - shocking!!

He did this after he had worked a full day, going the extra mile to make sure we were totally satisfied. We have asked him to come again to do further work on another pond because we were so pleased with his friendly and professional manner.

Experiencia fantástica: Such a helpful centre of excellence . I've bought fish, had my pond built and then relined this year after 12 years. Whenever I have a problem or need an annual service, out they come and do a great job. Best Fish pond specialists in the county.

Experiencia negativa: I have used this place for 20 years for varying aquatic needs, buying aquariums, treatments, equipment and fish, i dread to imagine how much I've spent. The shop itself is fine and always good for advice but a recent pond relining job has completely changed my opinion of the operation to the point I will no longer use them. The lining job was done well but the destruction and carnage of an expensively assembled garden was quite something. Attitude was not right either at various points, even denying the removing of plants that weren't dug up, just ripped out and gone and even with photo evidence im made out to be a liar. Rocks being thrown across the garden at the expense of more plants and when asked about all fish being accounted for the reply was, "ill catch what I see". Makes me question the attitude towards livestock. Could have been handled so much differently and so much better but its all about sorry you feel that way, now please pay the money... Loss of a loyal customer and I hope anyone thinking of a pond repair is prepared for what is about to follow.
