Experiencia fantástica: The staff is very friendly and super outgoing! Took time out of their day to show my son their resident Pac-man frog (he had to be dug up) and their white turtles! Lots of aquatic plants to choose from and even some houseplants! I'll definitely be coming back!

Experiencia fantástica: Had a really fun time looking at all the fish and choosing which ones to bring home! Super knowledgeable people. They were willing to answer all of my million questions and be patient with me as I changed my mind a couple times. I really appreciated the honesty - there were a couple ones that didn’t look so hot (obviously this happens to everyone!) and he told me he didn’t want to send me home with those specific ones at that time. Most of the prices were pretty comparable to the big name fish stores. The fish were all clearly well cared for so I didn’t mind spending a little extra on some. Unfortunately one of my shrimp did not even make it home, but everyone else is doing really well! Looking forward to coming back when I upgrade to a bigger tank!

Experiencia fantástica: Great store, unlike most fish stores, these fish were actually in tanks appropriate for their size as well as decorated so that they may not only survive, but thrive. Even the larger tanks with the larger fish were set up for the fish to thrive in. Most fish stores have their fish displayed in a large commercial unit with multiple very small tanks. These folks have most of their fish displayed in 20 gallon long tanks that are fully planted. Staff was very knowledgeable about the fish they had for sale. And provide provided accurate knowledge as to their proper care. Keep up the great work!!

Experiencia fantástica: This is a true aquatic store. The owner is super nice and beyond knowledgeable. If you want well treated and disease free fish this is the place. This isn't uncle bills, these are well maintained and cared for fish. If you want to learn and want a real healthy aquarium this is the place you need to go.

Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely love fish happens, I knew nothing about fish when I first walked in! A month and a half later I have 3 tanks varying in sizes and all of them are perfect! They have the sweetest employees who are very patient and readily available to answer ANY questions you have. I go in atleast once a week if not more they’re like a second family lol definitely check them out if you’re new to fish or even experienced hobbyists you’ll learn something new every time to make your hobby more simple or more awesome!

The people here just don’t rush you the guy who helped me educated me when I asked him if he had a specific plant on how it would thrive in my water since I use city water, because he took the time to educate me I finally got some plants home and they didn’t get all the all nasty and disintegrate! These plants have been thriving since I put them in my tank and that was over a week ago now. Also left with another beautiful angelfish that I didn’t plan on buying, but who could walk past their selection and not see something amazing. These fish were in such good quality and had such and good color.

Only downside is theres like 3 guys working the front so if it's busy it may take a bit, and the store has ton of options and fish but it's a bit cramped. Still 5 stars they are workin very well with what they've got.

Plus he threw us a plant on there because I had been wanting some badly. Excellent service he answered every question me and my girlfriend had and even gave me some advice on my tank set up. Experiencia fantástica: I’ve had a very positive experience with this shop. About two weeks ago, I bought a prefilter sponge, two nerite snails, and a hillstream loach. Unfortunately, when I got home and floated the bag, I noticed something wrong with the loach, and sadly it passed away within 30 minutes in my quarantine tank. I went back yesterday to buy another hillstream loach and two more nerite snails. While they were gathering my fish, I mentioned what happened last time. When I went to pay, the staff told me they were going to take care of me and didn’t charge me for the new hillstream loach. That’s real customer service! They genuinely care about their customers and their animals. I’ll definitely keep coming back. Highly recommend this shop!

Experiencia positiva: We love it here! From aquascape,plants and fish they have a bit of everything. We drive an hour and a half to shop with you guys and get advice on our tanks. I’ve only had one issue where I purchased duckweed and within 3 days I found over a dozen pest snails in our tank during a water change. I think that’s an issue you generally have with buying live plants but I was not expecting it I guess. Will just check better next round

Experiencia positiva: Perfect for plants and large aquatic animals. The fish selection was better than a PetSmart for example, but the tanks could have been cleaner. A decent amount of fish had died in some tanks. I'd definitely recommend for plants though!

Experiencia fantástica: Anyone that tells you or that you happen to read on these reviews that fish happens prices are more than The Reef is lying to you. I personally have found that The Reef is almost double the price on a lot of the same items they carry. Freshwater and saltwater included. The day i went up The Reef a couple weeks ago i asked them if they knew about Fish Happens on the southside. I got a snicker and some negative comments about the owner. Fish Happens sells quality healthy fish. I dont bother quarantining any of my livestock and have not had one issue, not one fish die. This place will be the only place in town i go to for freshwater fish and inverts. On a side note Modern Aquatix is basically right across the street from Fish Happens and is the only place in town i will go to for my saltwater hobby as well.

Experiencia fantástica: Our family LOVES this place. There is a large variety of plants to choose from, (which was what brought us in) as well as many varieties and sizes of fish and snails! The owner/operator is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Experiencia fantástica: After recently becoming an aquarium enthusiast, we came across this store. The workers here are far more helpful than any petco/pet smart I’ve ever been to. Also free water testing! We picked up some guppies, a mystery snail, some water plants & stickers. My son loved the huge puffer fish. My nephew definitely had a blast seeing all kinds of fish. I believe Tyler helped us he was super rad appreciate the help today!

The variety of fresh water fish, especially guppies, and plants are fantastic and you can tell they prioritize the health and wellbeing of the fish. Each tank is heavily planted, clean and well maintained. Their betta fish are happily housed in actual tanks, not just cups or bowls. Tyler is incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about fish care. He took the time to answer all of my questions and provided me with valuable tips on setting up my aquarium and maintaining a healthy environment for the fish. It’s clear he genuinely cares and wants to educate others in the hobby.

On top of everything, the staff is great and always well informed with any questions anybody may have about anything in the fish keeping world.

Experiencia negativa: EDIT: Owner personally messaged me with insults after finding my Facebook. Presumably angry about this honest review. Very interesting behavior… Also not sure what “not getting my way” refers to. I told the associate what fish I wanted and he gave them to me. Tanks infested with BBA, hair algae, and snails. Fish were poorly bagged (what fish store worker doesn’t know how to properly bag?) and came with duckweed in the water. Tanks DEFINITELY need cleaned. Prices were higher than The Reef and Aquarium World. Associate that helped me (I think he may have been the owner) was quiet and somewhat rude. No welcome when I arrived, no asking about tank parameters, giving advice on fish species, etc. Decent selection of African Cichlids, great selection of guppies, not much else here.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing selection of African Cichlids especially peacocks. I would recommend anyone that has any fish needs to fish happens. I will buy all of my future cichlids here. They are a pretty good price for the quality of the fish. And there are many different sizes at different price ranges and I don’t think there is another store in the state with the selection of peacocks and there all beautiful fish. The service was great and he was very knowledgeable in what he was talking about. And it’s a small business I 100% support.

Experiencia fantástica: One of the best fish stores I’ve been to you can really tell how much the owner cares about the fish. every tank is really good taken care of and all of the fish are healthy and thriving. if you want fish that are healthy and well taken care of and need tips and advice this is the place to go absolutely amazing service and I want to keep coming back!!

Experiencia negativa: First impression of this place, not very clean, tanks looked dirty with algae. guy working the front greeted us with a simple welcome and that was it, he went back to playing on his phone, no “hey what are we looking for” or anything. My fiance and I are still kind of new to the aquarium thing and this place was closer to us then the reef but the reef has a better selection and multiple workers that are knowledgeable and helpful we will continue to make the drive there to get better service.

Experiencia negativa: Although there was a wide assortment of fish and invertebrates to choose from. The tanks were not clean. The worker was rude and very knowledgeable about things. I called and asked for a specific item and was told they had it when I arrived they didn’t have and haven’t ever had it they had something similar and was told that most people can’t tell the difference. Which is not true I had 30 minute drive for no reason now. I have years of experience with fish and tanks and decided to quiz the worker. They definitely wanted to make money rather than actually help people. I will never go back to this facility. Also the owner made this response in the picture and then went back and change what he said. I truly hope he fixes things. I don’t give reviews to hurt anyone. I give honest reviews and hope it helps a business change anything to help better themselves. I don’t like seeing businesses fail. I want to see others succeed and do well.

Always has a nice healthy selection of beautiful local and imported fish and plants my whole 300 gallon planted tank is all from his store and is absolutely thriving without hiccup . He’s very knowledgeable and is willing to give knowledge on how to make you succeed in planting your very own tank. Definitely check them out if you are in the area or just make the drive it’s worth it .
