Negative experience: 1. The room not isolated at all - every little noise is noticeable. From 8 it starts when the first guests are checking out. And from 8.30 the cleaning lady is making so much noise & being on the phone on speakers its an absolute no go. 2. no trash bin in the room!! this is the bare minimum 3. No shutters to close to make to room dark. 4. there is not even a door sign “don’t disturb” & “clean the room” and 5. Last but least both bed lamps are missing a light bulb or is not working. Small things like this show a lot about how much you care about the experience of guests. very bad experience. The only good thing was the digital check-in process which was very smooth.

Fantastic experience: Amazing experience in this lovely hotel. Family run and attention to detail. Beautiful sea view from my room. The airport was only 15 minutes drive so made my stay so much easier.

Fantastic experience: A beautiful, comfortable, and elegant place to stay. The location is perfect if you need to go down the street to the Feria or other events nearby the Palasport. The Bnb is easy to get to by car/taxi and the owner, Oscar, is super kind, helpful and professional.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful building in a great location for the marina, restaurants and shops, also a short bus ride from the historic centre. We were glad to see the building was being cared for even if it meant there was scaffolding to the front of the building. The STIGLER lift was of great interest to us and we were pleased to see that also well maintained. Communications with Oscar were very quick and easy and the check in instructions very easy to follow. The room was well appointed and immaculate. Our only very slight disappointment was the ‘breakfast’ which wasn’t adequate really and rather let down the whole experience: plastic cutlery and cheap low quality, long life items and nothing even to eat them from eg. plates. We very soon swerved this part and headed to the nearest (excellent) bakery instead. Also the fridge was very loud at night. All in all a great place to stay, personally you could forget the ‘breakfast’ bit though!

Negative experience: Location is quite good but there was no mention of construction going on and that the there is not parking inside the facility and the sink was clogged. The room was clean but the breakfast was nothing like what I expected.

Positive experience: I stayed for two nights in Genoa at Home Grifondoro in March 2025. Check in and all of the procedures were easy, with Oscar’s CRM giving me a clear set of messages on how to check in etc. (though perhaps the large number of messages could be combined into one to reduce clutter?). The room was fabulous, with white marble all around and a wonderfully firm bed. Given the relative chaos of Genoa itself, coming back to the room felt incredibly relaxing. An espresso machine in the room was a nice touch. My one complaint is that the breakfast seems to be largely a joke, consisting of pre-packed croissants, boxed juice and inedible pre-packed toast so hard it would likely survive a nuclear apocalypse. That this kind of breakfast was not clear in the marketing feels misleading, and is a strange justaposition in itself, given how nice the room is. Accepting that one must find breakfast elsewhere however, this is a very nice place to stay.

Positive experience: We recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it's a decent, rather average place. The rooms were relatively clean, although one day our bed wasn’t made. Breakfast consisted of a simple selection – pre-packaged bread rolls, mini jams and nutella in plastic containers, juice and water. It was okay but nothing special. One downside was that there’s currently scaffolding around the building, which obstructs what could be a nice view. The first night was quiet, but the following days we were disturbed by a family with children in a neighboring room who were quite loud, and it was hard not to hear them. The atmosphere felt a bit cold as we didn’t meet the owners or see any staff, which some might not mind, but it made the experience feel a bit impersonal for us. Overall, I would rate it as a standard 3-star hotel, but given the price, we expected a bit more. There’s definitely room for improvement in some areas.

Fantastic experience: This was our second stay at Grifondoro. We had the yello room (104) which is great, with a little balcony overlooking the sea. Oscar has the BEST beds - and absolutely wonderful linen. I wish I knew where he got his sheets and pillows!!! The breakfast is a bit spartan, but there is a kettle, a fridge and a coffee machine , so we were well set-up. Loved it. Will definitely stay here again!

Positive experience: Genova Accom: 4 star We were lucky to get a late check in and had clear instructions to access the room. Being only a few rooms, it was quiet and simple. As we only had a couple of days it was all we needed however we needed to buy our own plastic wine cups, plates and cutlery to enjoy a platter on the terrace. The fridge can fit very little. The shower was tricky to close properly so tended to flood the bathroom and not replaced towels each day. There was very little space for large suitcases so perfect for a little romantic stay for a couple nights. The breakfast was cute but didn’t get coffee pods each morning so had to go out to get breakfast/coffee the days we were not refilled. Otherwise clean, tidy and loved the authentic building with view of the ocean.

Negative experience: Room 106 has a bath screen which leaks badly and consistently flooded our bathroom every time we showered. Otherwise the room itself was spacious, with an A/C unit and a very partial view of the sea. There's a blanket policy about no irons, so come prepared. Walls are a bit thin so be prepared if you have noisy neighbours. Service was lacking as during our four night stay we saw nobody, neither guests nor staff other than the cleaner. Cleaning is every 3 days but it's not explicit whether that is every 3 calendar days, nights of your stay, or something else. As a result the cleaner came on our second night offering to clean at 2pm but we were resting and our room wasn't cleaned at any point prior to checkout. Checkout instructions aren't provided and we had to text to find them out. According to the leaflet in room staff are available from 14:30 - 18:30 each day, however we never saw any staff during that period. Additionally, we asked Oscar to book us a cab to the airport on our last day, as we had previously encountered a language barrier with the cab companies. Oscar didn't call us a cab as it "seems strange" so we had to make a mad dash for the bus. The location is good as there's good bus links to either the town or the bars on the coast. All in all, I'd recommend staying here if you're okay with being left mostly to your own devices, but it may be worth exploring an air BnB or booking a hotel if you want full freedom/amenities or full service. Additionally we paid €14 for breakfast for two days but there is no clearly signposted breakfast area, or staff to ask where to go, so that's was €14 we could have spent elsewhere.

Positive experience: Nice room in a lovely building. Unfortunately due to corona they didn't serve breakfast, which is kind of strange since there are so many possibilities to do it safe. The staff was kind. The downside is that you can hear the other guests in their room. So I woke up at 3 am because the neighbours came back and were very loud.
