Fantastic experience: this aquarium was epic! as an autistic girl who hates crowded places this was so calm and relaxing, it was a great day out for me, my little sister and mum. it wasn’t too busy, but was a beautiful little self owned aquarium. the sea animals was well looked after, and was so cool too see. the wait to get it in was nothing and it was a fun walk round we took around 45-1 hour to go round (doing the quiz) and it was in a really pretty little area, thankyou again☺️ ps the octopus and rays was really cool!

Negative experience: This was the worst experience my family ever had, after paying a substantial amount of money for the experience we was completely shocked of how small the aquarium was and literally took 5 minutes to view everything, we was very disappointed and feel the cost of entrance is far too much for what is on offer

Iain Todd 1 month ago

Fantastic experience: Great aquarium and well worth a visit if you're visiting Ilfracombe. It's quite small compared to other aquariums so it doesn't take very long to get round it. But theres plenty to see. The exhibit takes you from the source of the river, through freshwater, into the sea so it's all local fish, which makes it all the more interesting. There are nice activities ans trails for the kids, too.

Positive experience: Small but priced accordingly, enough to see for around an hour. Really helpful/friendly staff

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hi Kevin,
Many thanks for your review. Pricing wise, in order to help visitors we have kept the same prices since 2023. In the meantime all our purchase and running costs have gone up significantly. We can't make these prices any cheaper unfortunately.
We hope you consider a revisit in the future. We'll certainly look forward to welcoming you.
Kind regards,

Negative experience: Dismal. Can't do 2 takeaway teas within 5 minutes. Loads of teenagers running around clueless and and ego maniac rude boss. Teenagers are polite. Two customers were told more than 20 minutes wait for a pasty and a drink. Pasties were already baked just needed serving up. The place was no more than two thirds full. Takeaway customers are told to wait outside. Worst cafe experience ever in my 50 years alive.

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

I should be diplomatic here but you sound like a very unpleasant and angry man. The team here do their best at all times. The seasonal and peak daily demand can make operations challenging considering too the resources we have available to us but we always do our best, provide clarity to the customers, and serve with a smile. Contrary to what you refer to as 'Loads of teenagers running around clueless...' we are in fact very proud of the whole team and their ongoing commitment to doing their best for the customers. On your description I will ask myself am I in fact an ego maniac rude boss? In fact best I ask my colleagues that. In addition, quite an achievement that, - 'worst cafe experience ever in my 50 years alive'. Snap - the worst review we have ever had by far. Rest assured we'll pick ourselves up from your dealt misery and not let it phase us. We take great comfort and pride in the fact that the vast majority of our visitors in the last 24 years have been very satisfied and grateful for our service.
I wish any other establishment you decide to visit the very best of luck as your expectation and tolerance is clearly on another scale. Best not visit us again...

Positive experience: We visited here and it was a lovely little aquarium. The young lady who went on the dolphin course recently was an absolute asset to this aquarium, she was so lovely, really knowledgeable about everything marine related it seems and super lovely to our son. They had a little quiz for the children as they walked around.

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hi Jim,
Thank you so much for your support in visit and words of encouragement. The young lady you refer to is Rheanna. Agreed, she's a star and is very committed to engaging visitors especially youngsters with the wonders of our aquatic life. Will relay your appreciation.
Please consider a revisit in the future. You will be most welcome.

Fantastic experience: A wonderful and enchanting place to visit with extremely friendly and very knowledgeable staff. So much interesting information especially if you take time to read about it as you move around. Such a welcome and pleasant change to be amongst staff who are so passionate and caring about their work. They couldn't do more to help. The place is a credit to them.

Fantastic experience: Visited a week ago with my family and found it to be a really lovely place with staff who are clearly dedicated and passionate about what they do. All of the fish/sea life can be found locally and there was lots of interesting information available. Loved Davey the octopus! The price is perhaps a bit higher than I would have expected for an aquarium that size (can walk round in about 20 minutes) however given they must rely on tourist season, employ local staff and clearly look after the aquarium really well I think on balance it's reasonable. Also kudos to the staff member who politely stood her ground on the no hot drinks in the aquarium section with a rude member of the public!

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hi Jessica,
Thank you so much for your support and review. It means a whole lot to the team here and helps us to steer efforts to improve in the future.
With regard pricing, you are absolutely right, despite great support from locals we are very much dependant on the tourist season to carry us through the autumn/winter/spring months. We have held our prices since 2023 with all our running costs increasing. It is squeeze, squeeze but we are committed to doing all we can to provide value for money and a memorable experience. We hope off the back of this you will consider a revisit in the future. We'll look forward to welcoming you again.
Kind regards,

Positive experience: Love to give this 5 stars as it is very informative and very pro conservation, however for the size of it, we found the price to be a bit higher than we'd expect. (Takes half hour or so to walk through it). All the staff were very friendly.

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hello Mr Hall, Thank you for your considered words and review. We value each review we receive. We are sorry that you thought the price was higher than expected. We carefully consider our entry prices which are directly influenced by our ongoing and increasing running costs and the seasonal nature of the visitor footfall and income. As a small independent aquarium we do not have the luxury of all year round income and substantial resources that some of the bigger aquaria and attraction chains have. However we consider our attraction as unique. We specifically showcase local species and offer a very personal, fun educational experience. We are reassured that the vast majority of our visitors enjoy the experience but we'll continue to work hard adding value and visitor interest where we can. We hope you will visit again in the future. We'll certainly look forward to welcoming you. Kind regards, Team Aquarium.. :0)

Fantastic experience: My brother took us to Ilfracombe Aquarium on Tuesday, it was just perfect! All the fish were local species! The guide was very friendly, helpful and informative! The staff were all lovely! So approachable, polite and helpful! The tanks were all nicely set up for the fish All the fish and crustaceans looked so healthy and content as they were! All the information on the fish was very educational & I really do adore that they're all found locally Also, THEY HAVE SHARKS!!!! I absolutely adore sharks, they also have a squid, an octopus, rays, CRABS AND LOBSTERS!!!! Everything was just so beautiful, I could've stared at them all day & the location was so gorgeous! We drove about 1hr & a half to get there and it was SO worth it! I definitely recommend paying a visit! & I will 100% be going again some day! (p.s. the gift shop is so so lovely, the pottery is absolutely stunning, I wanted one of everything, there's plenty of toys & things that kids will love & oh my god the food we had at the cafĂŠ was gorgeous! I also got a seagull dog toy for my sister's dog & he adores it =) + i got a shark pencil which is awesome, a beautiful bracelet & a gorgeous starfish dish!) I took SO many photos, I want to draw them all, they are all STUNNING! I didn't want to say goodbye! The rays kept waving at us so cute! Thank you Ilfracombe Aquarium, for having us! =)

Fantastic experience: Had a great time here recently, it's filled with a whole host of local aquatic life (both saltwater and freshwater) and has very friendly, informative staff. I would highly recommend it if you are interested in learning more about the aquatic creatures we share these islands with. PS One of the Nursehounds got stuck whilst we were there, I hope she managed to get back out.

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hi Matt, Thank you so much for your feedback and support. Great to know you had a fulfilling visit. Rest assured the bullhuss - one of our resident sharks can haul up behind a rock in our harbour exhibit. It can look a bit compromised but don't worry it soon gets out on the prowl when food is in the offing! Hope to welcome you again one day. Kind regards, Team aquarium.. :0)

Fantastic experience: A terrific small, independent aquarium, perfect for families on a rainy day. Really liked the flow(!) of water creatures exhibited, starting with Exmoor, then rivers, then the harbour and finishing with Lundy island. Positive experience: An aquarium with great spirit and visible proximity to most sea life within the area. Extraordinary to see (skate? ) or similar flatfish cruising as though in flight over one another. Very odd when seen from below. Somewhat humanoid features. Helpful engaging team full of information. Personally some anxiety re tank sizes for large fish?

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hello Martin, Thank you very much for your review and support. Rest assured animal welfare is a top priority for us with careful observations, an Ethical Review programme and future stocking plan in mind. The team here are all too aware of the importance of continued best care for the animals in our unique collection. We hope you will support us again. We'll look forward to welcoming you. Fantastic experience: Lovely little aquarium. Staff were excellent with their information. Looking forward to returning

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hello Eloise, Thank you for your review and comments. Regarding our young team member Sam despite his young years is passionate and knowledgeable about the animals here. Negative experience: Good grief - it took less then 5 minutes to walk around. ÂŁ16.00 down the pan, better off going to a garden centre for free to see the fish.

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hello Jan, Sorry you were unsatisfied with your visit. It is a great shame you didn't grasp the concept of what we are trying to achieve here. We take reassurance that the vast majority of our visitors enjoy their experience. On your recommendation we must visit a garden centre to find out what we are missing!

alice ineveryland 8 months ago

Positive experience: We visited Ilfracombe Aquarium on a Sunday afternoon during the Christmas break. Parking was easy and reasonably priced, though I imagine it could be more challenging in the summer. There are no toilets inside the aquarium, but public restrooms are located right next door. Unfortunately, they weren’t very clean. The aquarium itself is quite small, and I felt the entry price was a bit high for the size. We walked through in about 15 minutes, even after encouraging my daughter to take a second look at the informative signs. That said, a friendly staff member added to the experience by feeding some of the fish for visitors to watch, which my daughter really enjoyed. The exhibits mainly feature local marine life, such as crabs and fish found in the nearby harbour. It’s a nice educational experience but not a place for a long visit. Also, it’s not dog-friendly. To help extend the visit for children, I recommend trying the trail they provide. It adds a bit more engagement and makes the experience last longer. Overall, it was an enjoyable but brief visit. It's worth considering if you’re in the area, but be mindful of the size and entry fee.

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hello Alice, Thank you for your detailed review. Is much appreciated. Rest assured one of our priorities is to continue to invest time and effort towards further engagement opportunities for children. They are after all future custodians of our precious natural world. We hope you will visit and support us again soon. We'll certainly look forward to welcoming you. Kind regards, Team Aquarium.. :0)

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hi King, Thank you very much for providing a review. We are glad you had an enjoyable experience. We too would love to be bigger and even more fascinating and rewarding for visitors but as we are a small independent aquarium with limited resources and experience the continued seasonal demand challenges we are not in a position just now to take that financial risk unfortunately. Who knows, maybe one day! Despite this, rest assured you'll remain a valued visitor and we hope to welcome you again in the future. Kind regards, Team Aquarium.. :0)

Negative experience: I think it's important to state that the aquarium is based within about 3 x separate small rooms. You can be in and out in 5 mins. 10 mins if you read every information board. A bit disappointing but understand it's important for local awareness and education. Price feels too high

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hello David. Thank you for your support and review. Review is harsh and misleading however we're just sorry you experience did not meet your expectations. We'll take on board your comments, keep up the hard work and shall continue to care for each and every visitor and their experience.

Fantastic experience: Took my toddler there today for the first time and will definitely be back. Even though it's small, we still spent a good while in there looking at everything, I loved how it was showing the local sealife. The staff were unbelievably nice, I've never had such good customer service. A lady with black hair on the front desk, she interacted with my daughter and got her excited and gave us all the information we would need to understand it better. The staff that were showing us the sealife were incredible, they really interacted with my toddler even when she was a bit shy at times. They let her and a few others touch a star fish which was the highlight of her day, and were talking to us all throughout the feeding time. I will definitely be back, honestly the staff there absolutely made the experience. The biggest shock to me was the gift shop bits weren't too expensive at all, that's very rare!

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Amy, wonderful feedback. Thank you. So pleased to hear that you and your toddler had such an enjoyable and fulfilling time. I'll relay back to the team here and will remain very aware that the team and their customer care is so appreciated. We hope you will visit us again soon.

Fantastic experience: A really great and well made aquarium. It's not big, but that just gives it more charm. Some rather intersting species that are not common in my home country Norway. Very friendly and helpful staff. We got to witness a staffmember feeding some baby rays!

Fantastic experience: An excellent aquarium with a wide variety of marine life to see, but what really sets it apart from some of the other aquariums I've visited is the amazing staff. These lovely people made every bit of the experience an absolute delight, from welcoming us and selling us our tickets, telling us all about the beautiful creatures on display, right down to the attentive service in the gift shop. I would absolutely recommend dropping by, and cannot wait to visit again the next time I'm in the area.

Thank you for your visit and review. We value your support, comments and recommendation. We'll share with the team here as am sure they will be very comforted to know their customer care efforts are appreciated and play such a big part in the visitor experience. Fantastic experience: A lovely independent aquarium with great educational information about the local environment, waterflies, and sea creatures in the area. They put things in context so you can immediately name the local animal you see outside right after the visit. A great way for children to learn and understand about the non-human life around them. It's a short visit, but I absolutely love the rays and sand soles nursery!

Positive experience: I echo what some of the other reviews say. It is tiny. I really took my time and even half went around a second time yet was still out of there in 40 mins. Perhaps a little expensive taking into account the size. It was alright and did kill a bit of time. Some decent species and course you are there and into sealife for sure check it out. I did not use the cafe there but that looked alright. The cashier was friendly at the aquarium.

Fantastic experience: We visited during school holidays and rainy day so the waiting is expected. Great little aquarium with lots to see, we caught the small shark feeding time which was good to see. The quiz sheets are good to keep the littlens even more enguaged. All the staff are friendly with lots of information. On exit, we ended the visit with a coffee under cover and my daughter had an armful of teddies.

Negative experience: Very disappointing, fish looked bored in small tanks just swimming a few feet before turning round. Whole tour took only minutes and certainly was not worth the entrance fee. Probably better to spend your money at the cafe instead.

Negative experience: Lovely staff but for what it is this isn't great value for money. The introduction speech was longer than the experience itself. I think the pricing model should be a donation. I couldn't even finish my KitKat I started when I entered before I got out to put it into context how short it was.

Negative experience: Friendly staff but I’m afraid to say this was the smallest place I’ve ever visited and we were in and out in 10 minutes and for two adults it was £15.90 so not great value for money

Fantastic experience: Fantastic aquarium. Perfect for 30 minutes to an hour for a walk around with the kids. Little game for the kids to go hunting for. On website says no need to book in advance.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic aquarium focusing on local marine wildlife. It’s quite a small aquarium but the layout is fantastic, taking you on a journey of the local water environments and what creatures you’d expect to find there. My daughters (2yo + 4m) both really enjoyed it as we were given a step at the beginning which enabled my daughter to see the fish at a much better height (such a lovely touch!) Highly recommend ☺️

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hello Caitlin, Thank you so much for you review. It is greatly appreciated. Great to know that your family enjoyed themselves and we're look forward to welcoming you back soon. Best wishes from the fishes! :0)

Positive experience: It's an amazing & interesting place but it's rather small for the money we paid. The sea creatures are very well looked after & everything is on 1 level.

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Hello Maria, Thank you very much for your review. I am sorry we didn't quite achieve the 5* and that you considered the cost being a little on the expensive side. It is an expensive operation here wholly reliant on public support not governmental or charitable supplement. Rest assured we'll be continuing to invest in order that a greater value for money is achieved on your return. We hope you consider that return visit in the future. Meanwhile 'best wishes from the fishes' :0)

Fantastic experience: I spent an afternoon in Ilfracombe Aquarium and it was just as brilliant as I remembered. Small but perfectly formed. It was fascinating to learn about the animals living just beyond the shore. Lawrence who works there was a font of information and only too happy to point out things I’d have never spied including ray babies! I thoroughly recommend. Incidentally I went without my kids and still had a ball!

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Thank you Leisa. Is really kind of you to send such an encouraging review. There is always things we can do to improve things here but great to know from discerning visitors like yourself that we are on the right track! Good luck to you too with your children's book writing. Maybe we should look to have your Our Blue Planet & Blue Planet II books available here in the shop. Any which way we can to further connect with our next generation of wildlife enthusiasts has to be a good thing! Kind regards...

Fantastic experience: We visited yesterday with our 3 year old and this was a really lovely end to our morning in Ilfracombe.. Perfect size for our daughter to be stay engaged and enjoy it as she can become distracted very easily. Very quiet weekday so didn't feel rushed and the staff were really lovely.. Lots of talks about the species of fish

Fantastic experience: Lovey independent aquarium, where you walked through a story of Devon's fish and marine life. Lovey to visit with plenty of happy fish and friendly staff.

Positive experience: We visited today as it’s raining - it is a small aquarium but worth a visit if you have the time. The staff were very friendly and helpful as our children were doing the provided quizzes. These were tailored in difficulty to their age groups (7 and 11) which I thought was a nice touch.

Fantastic experience: What a little gem of a place! We did what all wet-weather holiday makers with small children did and headed to the aquarium in the August deluge… and we were so delighted with what we found. So much to look at and so we’ll explained. The introduction at the start, taking us through the trail from the source of the river down through the lakes, ponds, tributaries and ending up at the harbour. The knowledge and enthusiasm from the guides, especially Sam, made the visit so much more immersive and informative. The thought that has gone into to the quiz, as well as providing steps for the little ones to ensure they don’t miss out - just so well thought through. Thank you for a memorable morning!

Duncan Cooper 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Really liked it. So it is small, you could go through it all in about 10 minutes, but you can also read everything and watch all the fish and spend an hour there. Follows the journey of water from Exmoor down the rivers to the sea and all the various habitats and animals that like there. The big tank at the end being the sea, with some great fish and crabs. Staff are lovely and chatty, feeding the various fish on a fairly regular basis so you get to see them all in a natural habitat. Worth going to and spending some time there.

Fantastic experience: It's amazing how much knowledge and passion the guys here spoke with! And for it to be all local species of fish meant that we actually got to learn what was in the waters just a stones throw away. Excellent aquarium, will definitely be going back!

Negative experience: Absolutely shocking experience of harassment from a senior male member of staff. After requesting a refund due to a rude demand he confronted me and continued to harass me after I requested several times to leave me alone. He then came back when my friends had returned and started harassing all 3 of us further. Appalling behaviour from him. Shame as the other staff were marvelous.

Fantastic experience: This place is small, but kinda mighty! Take the time to speak to the passionate team, read the displays and gaze into the tanks - (the more you look, the more you’ll see) and you’ll find a couple of hours simply disappear. Highly recommended!

Positive experience: Free for under 3's. Free trail for children to find letters around the aquarium and you recieve a sticker at the end. It's not very big so don't expect to be there for long. Staff were friendly and the gentleman who gave a talk about the fish when he was feeding them was very informative. I don't think we would visit again if we had to pay full price for our daughter as it took us around an hour to go around. I would rather spend the money on going to a bigger place.

Gemma 2 years ago

Positive experience: Cute little aquarium. Small, but filled with lots of fish, sharks and other creatures of the sea and water. Price is very reasonable. Takes around 30 minutes with a slow walk around. Small gift shop and cafe downstairs. Not very busy for a Saturday.

Fantastic experience: This place is a hit for my family and over the years we've visited several times. We just recently visited for the first time since covid and the aquarium is definitely bigger than before. This aquarium is all about the local freshwater and marine ecology from Exmoor moorland to the coast. There's lots of information on clear to read displays around the exhibits. The children aged 9 & 10 were able to lead themselves around the exhibits and learn kids by participating in the quiz for a sticker at the end... I think there's 3 age related quizzes for children aged EYFS - KS2. All of the staff in the centre are on hand to answer questions, and I was particularly impressed with how the young chap with the dark hair patiently listened to one of the children's questions and made sure his answer was at a level the child could understand. The setting is small and friendly, this is not the national sea life centre. Parking is nearby at the car park near the church at the end of the harbour, we went the week after May half term 2023 so it was well quiet. Toilets are the ones on the harbor. It's a large building next door. Hold your breath and learn to hover.

Fantastic experience: We loved the up Close and personal aspect of this small but so very interesting aquarium. We actually went through it and reversed back to catch some creatures we had missed . It’s great for young children as it’s small enough not to lose them but interesting enough to capture imagination. The chunks pasties in The cafe were best ever tasted!

Negative experience: Staff were friendly and gave us some information prior to entering. We expected the aquarium to be much bigger and had seen everything in around 10 minutes. Due to the price of entry, we felt really disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I visited the Aquarium with my partner today. The staff were friendly and informative. We were given lots of opportunities to ask questions and find out more about the animals in the aquariums by a very lovely member of staff. He was extremely knowledgable and we left feeling like we not only had a lovely experience but learnt all about the wildlife too. It is set out in a lovely way and is a must see!

Positive experience: It's worth it to visit Ilfracombe aquarium especially if you are visiting Ilfracombe with kids. The special takeaway is a bag full of gems at just ÂŁ3.5. Although this is a small scale aquarium, the friendly and dedicated staff, kids fun quiz sheets add up the level.

Fantastic experience: A sealife centre this is not, however, it is a very entertaining, educational and very interesting trip following the course of local freshwater streams to the sea visiting samples of the aquatic wildlife on the way. The staff are really friendly, knowledable and eager for you and the children to ask questions & interact. The aquarium site is only small but has good theme from start to finish. Nice Cafe on site with great service also.

Fantastic experience: Such a lovely little aquarium, amazing how much wildlife can be found around here. The staff are really attentive, always on hand to answer any questions and fed 2 of the tanks in front of my little girl so she could see all the animals. Well worth a visit

Positive experience: Small amount of fish and marine life/exhibits. Very compact and squashed. I've been to much better Aquariums. I'm tempted to say 7.50 is a reasonable price for an adult but we were done within 15-minutes.

Fantastic experience: It's interesting aquarium. I only would recommend lowering the price as you can walk through in 10 minutes. Not a bad experience but worth visiting the cafe at least.

Fantastic experience: I recently completed 2 weeks of work experience at the aquarium. Prior to doing the experience, I wasn’t sure what area of animal care I wanted to specialise in but, due to my 2 weeks experience here, I have decided that marine biology is definitely the area I would like to specialise in! This is due entirely to the fact that all the staff were very welcoming, knowledgeable and keen for me to get as much out of the experience as I wanted. The aquarium, although small, has a very wide variety of local marine life. I didn’t expect to learn as much as I did and my confidence has increased tremendously! I would thoroughly recommend this aquarium for work experience as I have benefited greatly from my time there and everyone’s support!

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Thank you Kathryn for your kind words, we are so pleased that you had such a fulfilling time and we wish you every success in your career in marine biology. Lawrence and the team.

Fantastic experience: I thought this aquarium is very expensive for its size, Its absolutely tiny, there's only about 10 tanks spread out in a couple of rooms but if you know that in advance obviously its your choice wether to pay it or not. Having said that, what there is, is very well done. Great location in the harbour, parking right outside, free toilets right outside the main doors. Lots of eateries next to it but it does have a lovely little cafe and tiny gift shop inside it. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly, there's quizs for the younger kids and an advanced one for older kids, every tank has informative boards next to it and staff ready to chat. Nice to see wildlife native to Devon and the local area.

Fantastic experience: What a great location for an aquarium! Amazing amount of information, lots of fish to look at in their tanks which are easy to view whatever height you may be. You can simply enjoy gazing at the fish up close or you can have enjoy a more in-depth experience by reading all the information - its perfect for whatever level /age you are at. As a paddleboarder in local rivers and estuaries, I found it very interesting to know how the types of sea life and habitat change from one point to another. Looking forward to coming back!

Negative experience: I found the staff at the aquarium very rude. I came with my nephew who has fragile X syndrome and a therapy dog. We were refused entry because of the dog. We had no paperwork to prove the fact my nephew had fragile X syndrome. Young girls that haven’t correct manners or experience to deal with this situation.

The Ilfracombe Aquarium

Dear Mr Allen, The team here are very saddened to see that you have left such a derogatory review. We take all our reviews very seriously and take great comfort that after 21 years of service the vast majority of our reviews remain very positive. We will continue to value each and every visitor who comes to support us. The grievance as I understand is over being asked at reception by a young but experienced female member of staff for some form of official confirmation of the dog that was with your group being a therapy/assistance dog. I can assure you that no offence or confrontation would have been intended and to date the member of staff involved has an excellent track record with her customer led duties. Unfortunately for dogs we have to have policies in place to ensure that everyone entering the exhibits is kept safe. We have many dog owners requesting entry with their dog but due to the alien environment within the exhibit area appealing to young and old it is just too much of a risk. Unfortunately my understanding is that at present there is no clear visual indicator such as a coloured tag or other to confirm on sight a therapy or assistance dog status. As a result of this we have to request some form of certification or letter. Ironically, prior to you requesting entry we had another entrant with a therapy dog who was perfectly understanding and willing to provide evidence via a certificate. They had an enjoyable time with us. Please accept our sincere apologies. We hope that the event didn't spoil your day. I shall reassure the member of staff who was also very upset by the event that I have done my best in reply and to mitigate the result of this most unfortunate episode. If I can advise you, in order to avoid a similar issue in the future, should you wish to enter similar indoor attraction, you may be best to have some form of official evidence with you. You may find that they have similar policies regarding dogs in order to keep visitors safe. This should avoid any further misunderstandings. Sincerely, Team Aquarium..
