🗣️ Marine Mammal Pavilion: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Our visit to the Baltimore Marine Mammal Pavilion was absolutely breathtaking! The multi-level design allows you to experience the beauty of the dolphins, sharks, and a vibrant array of colorful fish from different heights, offering incredible views of the entire underwater world. My son Antonio was mesmerized by the variety of marine life, especially the stunning, illuminated jellyfish (Medusa), which added a magical touch to the visit. The whole space feels like an enchanting underwater escape. The staff was knowledgeable and passionate, making the experience even more enriching. Highly recommend—super beautiful and an unforgettable adventure! ❤️
Positive experience: Its okay but They should do dolphin shows
Fantastic experience: Wonderful marine aquarium. The exhibits are outstanding and it's great for the kids
Fantastic experience: The view was thrilling. I love every bit of the experience.
Negative experience: It's not as good as it was. My family use to go and learn about the dolphins, but not there is no one there to talk about the animals. You can only stand an look at the tank and hope a dolphin swims past. My kids learned nothing in the Marine Mammal Pavillion
Positive experience: The National Aquarium in Baltimore has plenty of beautiful fishes, In addition to the sea world it holds Amazon forest setup and Australian desert setup Kind of too pricey
Fantastic experience: The National Aquarium in Baltimore is awesome. They finally stopped the dolphin shows, but visitors can go into the amphitheater and watch the dolphins swim. They do a few flips and jumps at feeding time. It is expensive to get in, but this is a worthwhile activity.
Fantastic experience: Great place to go with the family. Beautiful
Fantastic experience: This is a gorgeous facility! I love the view of the Inner Harbor while you get to watch the dolphins. I do not know enough about dolphins to judge the ethics of keeping dolphins in captivity.
Fantastic experience: The aquarium is exciting for all ages. The various types of jellyfish were beautiful. Also, the sharks were breathtaking. Unfortunately, they no longer have the dolphin show but you are able to watch the dolphins swim around. It was truly a fun day.
Fantastic experience: Fun and educational places for little kids. Loved the overall experience at the aquarium except for the large crowds.
Fantastic experience: It's an interesting experience for the kids! The fish and the sharks are beautiful ❤️
Fantastic experience: We went and watched the dolphins, and saw puffins too
Fantastic experience: Really cool aquarium that had tons to do. Great for families!
Fantastic experience: It was better than I expected, it beats the Camden Aquarium hands down. It is very clean and the employees are all friendly and helpful.
Negative experience: Trapping animals for entertainment is not nice These are living creatures that should be free You wouldn’t like it if you were stuck in a small area when your home is the whole entire ocean. Free these animals
Fantastic experience: Dolphins do their own thing and I've seen them do nothing to doing jumps in the air and zipping around the tank. Hard to predict. Worth checking out and if they aren't active the jelly exhibit nearby is great too.
Fantastic experience: The Flight Of The Manta Rays ride near the dolphins is the best!
Positive experience: Love the Marina the only thing is the area doesn't really feel 100% safe. I mean I had a crazy guy literally threaten our lives at 930am in the freakin morning. If not you have sketchy people walking behind you gotta keep your head on a swivel. Doesn't really make a tourist feel welcome. Other than that, the Marina itself is a nice place to visit love the ships and restaurants.
Positive experience: The water was a bit cloudy so it was hard to see the porpoises. They aren't doing shows now. There is an interesting jelly fish exhibit there too.
Fantastic experience: Great experience for mom and dad and the kids. Get there right before opening and no wait to get in to buy tickets.
Positive experience: I have been to quite a lot of aquariums. I would not recommend this one. It is basically a bunch of smaller aquariums with the same types of fish. There is a large aquarium with sharks and fish, but again, they have the same fish in the smaller aquariums. The aquarium is like a maze and is hard to find your way around. Asked associates for help a few times, and that seemed to be a bother to them. The price is too much for what you get to see.
Fantastic experience: This section of the aquarium was really great. The dolphins were fun to see, the cafe was busy, but there were tables available, and the food didn't take very long, and the portion sizes were reasonable for the prices. The best part, though, was the jellyfish exhibit! It was very well done.
Fantastic experience: The Mammal Pavillion was amazing. Love the dolphin pool and the dolphins were swimming around splashing and showing off to the public. Such majestic creatures
Positive experience: About the fourth time I've been here in a decade, could really use some improvements. Kids had fun with the dolphins.
Fantastic experience: A wonderful area at the famous Inner Harbour of Baltimore. Beautiful views on good weather days.
Fantastic experience: Second time we visit this place. It continous to be amazing! Try the weekdays to avoid congestion!
Fantastic experience: Was fun . Too bad the deny creation though. Oh well .
Fantastic experience: Good place to visit with family. Was not crowded when I visited.
Fantastic experience: Worthy to visit
Fantastic experience: Always love to visit the aquarium!
Positive experience: Just a bunch of dolphins in a deep pool. Viewing experience isn't bad. They claim that the dolphins don't perform and yet the pavilion has stadium seating with a splash zone and toys for performing dolphins. Seems fishy. Hope the dolphins are being treated well and not being forced to perform.
Fantastic experience: This was amazing. Exceeded my expectations, there's so much to do! And it's not that pricey.
Fantastic experience: Home to a few bottlenose dolphins, this space is large and airy.
Fantastic experience: This place was really cool! We started off in the Australia exhibit which I'm happy about because it was the least impressive one but there were still lots of little fish. We were able to see a variety of fish, sharks and sting rays very close up. We were even able to pet some of the baby sting rays and some sort of crab. The little kids were all over that. There was also a cool rainforest exhibit at the very top level where we saw birds and a sloth, weirdly enough. Everything was really cool, but my absolute favorite were the dolphins! You can stand right up next to the tank and watch them play and we even got to see them eat lunch and do lots of adorable tricks. The tickets are pricey but I'd say it's worth it considering everything they have there.
Fantastic experience: This was my first time at the Marine Mammal Pavilion and it was a blast! As you enter, there is stadium style seating with the lower section easily identified as a SPLASH Area . The dolphins put on a remarkable show that was enjoyed by all in attendance - highly recommended.
Fantastic experience: Super excited to be able to see the dolphins they are so beautiful! First time visiting this huge Aquarium is worth the money to be able to be able to see all this beautiful undersea creatures. From sharks to jelly fish to rain forest, excellent experience. Great family time
Fantastic experience: Do the early entry, well worth it.
Fantastic experience: It was fun, had a great time with the fishes. learned a lot about marine animals
Fantastic experience: Loved the dolphins. The show wasn't that long, only about 15 minutes. And there's a splash zone but no splashing...hmm.
Positive experience: So, when we arrived at the Marine Mammal Pavillion to see the dolphins, the entrance had a sign posted saying they were no longer offering any dolphine shows. I didn't get a picture of the sign, and unfortunately, I was unable to speak to anyone working in that area as they were all busy at that time, but I'm still unclear if this is a temporary situation or if its a permanent change. The area is very large - lots of seating surrounding the massive marine mammal tank, with splash zones and handicap accessibility. The way the layout is designed allows for great views anywhere you're sitting in the audience. Even though they were not offering any dolphin shows, we did get to see about 4-6 different dolphins interacting with a few trainers during our time there. The trainers were practicing different tricks with them all for quite some time, so it was almost like getting a show anyway, lol. It was so awesome to be able to observe these beautiful animals up close and get to watch them practice various tricks and swim around. I would definitely come back to visit them again, whether or not they're still offering shows. It's definitely worth a visit! The only reason I'm giving this a 4* instead of 5* is because I feel like there was not enough clarity on the dolphin shows. I would have liked being able to ask someone there that day, but like I said earlier, I was unable to. I would have also appreciated the experience more had there been some more information displayed around the area about dolphins in general, and maybe even about those specific ones we got to see in person, since the trainers are no longer giving shows and educating the public. I had a great time otherwise, I would have just liked learning more about dolphins and the exhibit itself.
Negative experience: Missed the dolphin show to demonstrate the intelligence and physical capabilities of the animal. Big disappointment
Negative experience: Dolphins in captivity, Sad face
Fantastic experience: The dolphins were definitely showing off!<3
Negative experience: As expensive the aquarium is it’s ok but they definitely changed especially with the dolphin show they use to have them do tricks the last time i was there it was boring the dolphins were playing but there was no show it’s not the same anymore for almost 40 bucks per person
Fantastic experience: This is in the second half of the National Aquarium in downtown Baltimore. This pavilion has shows in for the dolphins. In the first few rows are splash zones so pay attention to the signs if you do not want to get splashed. There is also a jellyfish exhibit here. It is a beautiful place. I recommended for anyone who loves aquariums, dolphins, and jellyfish.
Fantastic experience: Great place to take the family.
Fantastic experience: A great section of the Aquarium, the dolphin show is entertaining and the Jelly Fish Exhibit is a great way to finish off this section of the Aquarium. Note, the first 4 rows are in the "splash zone", sit higher if you don't want to be part of the show!
