It’s definitely a hidden gem that deserves visiting. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Feeding the fish was a delightful experience and it made me feel like a kid again. Experiencia fantástica: The Bow Habitat Station is such an amazing educational and informational gem! We visited in the wintertime but I’d love to come back in the summer because they even stock the pond out front with fish that can be caught. We came with a school group and they did an amazing job with their educational presentations, it was fun and informative, and even my little guys were entertained with the performance. We also really enjoyed the fish feeding experience and seeing the sheer volume of fish that are hatched and raised here is eye opening. They take care of their facility and are careful with cleanliness here too and it really shines. Doing a scavenger hunt and learning to identify different kinds of fish in the lower fish tank areas. And these older fish really did seem like they were listening to us if we stopped and talked to them- that was probably the fishiest part of our visit! Fish talking lol And upstairs the displays are so well done! Lots to see and the video that was playing was really great too. Learned a ton here!

Experiencia fantástica: Visiting the Bow Habitat Station was an absolute dream. We took the hatchery tour as well and our guide, Hannah, was so kind and knowledgable. She also spoke very clearly and was happy to answer questions. My wife and I enjoyed the exhibits because not only were they cool, they were easy and fun to learn from. All the staff were wonderful at the desk as well, and we're excited that it was our first experience, being from Edmonton. Bow Habitat Station was beautiful!

Experiencia fantástica: Tonight we went to adult event at the Conservatory, this was a really great event, we got to see up close the fishery tanks and feed the fish, in the theatre, an enthusiastic education on the local Trout, the nature walk in the park and view of the river and information was perfect. We got to practise casing in the children's pond. Overall great evening. Definitely if you have an evening free go spend a nice evening

Experiencia fantástica: Open Tuesday-Thursday 10-4pm, and extended summer hours call to confirm. Free parking. Right next the Bow River and Pearce Estate Park. Great place to visit and have a picnic, park is huge. The Habitat was closed but looked a lot of fun. You can walk around and check out Bow River, Harvie’s Passage and the wetland interpretive centres and wonder around while you are here.

Experiencia fantástica: Hosted my daughter's birthday party here! This place is a gem and not many ppl know about this place so makes it a surprising experience for all your guest. We were able to also bring our own food which I love! The party room was big enough to host a party of 30. The staff were all super friendly. We got a private tour guide leading the kids into several activities. I would recommend this place to any moms that are planning a birthday party for kids 10 yrs and under.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently visited the Bow Habitat Station & Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery in Calgary and had a wonderful experience. Despite its unassuming name and building, this place offers a lot for a two-hour visit, especially with small children. The highlight for us was the fish feeding activity in the hatchery, which was both fun and educational. Watching the children feed thousands of trout and learning about their life cycle was a unique experience. The interpretive centre is excellent for all ages, focusing on water conservation and Alberta's aquatic ecosystems. It features hands-on exhibits and freshwater aquariums that engage visitors in understanding the importance of water and wildlife conservation.

Experiencia fantástica: My Grade Three class had a wonderful trip to the Hatchery! So many new and exciting things for them to see. Our instructor Ellen, was amazing! We also had a great treat of seeing a family of ducks swimming by on our walk, and seeing a freshly cut down tree from a beaver. Thank you for a great day! I'll be back again with another class :)

It's a great way to show what exactly and how people pollute the environment, the consequences are shown, as well as examples of how not to do it. For the price of the room (10$) is pretty good. Experiencia fantástica: Bow Habitat Station & Sam Livingston Fish Hatchery has a lot to offer and so kid friendly! For a tiny donation, you can see and feed the fish fry in the hatchery area. This happens about every 15-20 minutes. It is very interesting to see the different aged minnows and how they react. This weekend, there was a hands-on outdoor conservation exhibition. Fly fishing/tying demonstrations, games, puzzles, contests, sun gazing, adventuring and all things outdoors! Why not visit the Bow Habitat Station on the two levels of the hatchery and find out about all the fish species, habitat, feeding as well as see the huge Alberta fish species aquarium. There is also a gift shoppe for kids, families and nature nuts! You can even buy fishing gear here. Once nice feature is that amount of games/books to use while travelling on those long car rides. Plenty of free parking and some snacks are available (best to pack a lunch). Happy fishing!

The fish hatchery is cool if you have kids that want to go but the appeal to me is the green space that lets you forget that you are in the city still.... kinda. I found some cool calcite by the river last time we went. This place is along city pathways, has free parking and is close to transit so it's easily accessible for anyone.

At first they thought it would be lame but they loved feeding the small trouts and seeing all the tanks full of different local fish, in the aquarium area. The guide was very friendly, knowledgeable, and seemed very passionate, which made the tour fun and interesting for all of us.

It was one of the most unique celebration for our son at Bow Habitat Station! Lauren was our tour guide for the birthday activities and she was SO lovely ! Children were so excited and engaged during the program, even the adults !! The stuff also were so welcoming and friendly! The birthday room was clean, spacious, bright, and just amazing ! Our guests were also amazed by all the cool features over there! We fed the fish, and then we went to the pond to explore some bugs and snails !! Experiencia fantástica: There is a lot to learn about types of fish in Alberta and neighborhood areas. We did our own tour but I noticed there is also a group tour. We enjoy feeding the fishes. There is theater room next to the discovery room which we sit and watch a documentary film for a bit. Over all it was a fun day.
