Experiencia negativa: So expensive for whsr it is How do they justify the price is beyond me Will never visit again

Experiencia positiva: A lovely morning walk around the aquarium, felt sorry for the pelicans though not much room to fly around. The bit behind the reception seems very empty though and maybe could be used for something. Really enjoyed the shark tunnel and the aqua theatre.

Experiencia positiva: A good morning out. Felt a little crowded at times but we enjoyed the birthday party.

Experiencia fantástica: After reading a lot of the recent reviews, I went to the Blue Planet Aquarium today with low expectations! However I was pleasantly surprised! We had a brilliant day and our 1 year old absolutely loved pottering around looking at the fish. The place felt lovely and there was lots to see - it's not huge so maybe better for little ones than older children.

Experiencia positiva: Went in for a diving with sharks experience. Staffs were nice and professional. Got the see the aquarium and enjoyed the tour.

Experiencia fantástica: A great way to spend a couple of hours, You're able to walk around as many times as you like. Parking booked online at the same time as tickets so wasnt an issue on the day. Staff pleasant and happy to answer any questions. Shame the tunnel wasn't turned on - that was the only disappointment. But for a first time visit we really enjoyed it!

Experiencia positiva: I've been a few times in the past and always had a great experience... Unfortunately it seems it's been left to rot a little. It's very dated now, feels a little empty compared to what it once was. The staff were all friendly and lovely, the fish etc are great to see but for the price of what we paid to get in, I was really disappointed. There's just a bit of a sad vibe to the place, could definitely do with some TLC.

Rorksen 1 week ago

Experiencia positiva: I'm very mixed on Blue Planet. The displays are good and the staff are fantastic and have great knowledge of the different species. However, the prices are disgusting. It is so expensive to go in and I would find it very hard to justify going with what's there. I understand that conservation is an expensive business. But with the constant price rises and with how busy it is I do struggle to believe that the prices are so high for any reason other than pure greed rather than caring for the animals. At the moment I wouldn't recommend you visit unless you can get a discounted ticket or free entry.

Experiencia negativa: Looks very tired. Poor signage. We were very disappointed. Had to wait to get in despite having pre-purchased tickets. Only one person on the admissions desk.

Experiencia positiva: Great day for the kids. The only downfall is I think it's pricy as its not really a full day out 3/4hrs maybe tops. Great experience for the kids tho. The feeds are also good.

Experiencia positiva: Honest review. It's getting tired looking. It's slightly overpriced. Struggle to get 2hours out of it.although I can imagine it costs a lot to upkeep....gift shop is very expensive.....all the fish reptiles kept well......for me to expensive to visit

Experiencia positiva: Great aquarium. Takes about 3 hours to see everything, so cost is a little high compared to other attractions that fill the entire day.

Experiencia negativa: Bardzo fajne miejsce... 10 lat temu.

Catherine Williams 1 month ago

Experiencia negativa: Very over priced, I was there with my family for 4 hours 1 hour of that was lunch and we'd been around 4 times. Also I don't understand the feild with the dinosaurs in, if there were all dinosaurs to do with the water/oceans I would understand but they make no sense. They say online make sure you pay for parking then both barriers are up and no one checks if youve paid to park or not. Very outdated for the price theyre charging. would not reccomend.

Experiencia fantástica: Visited for the first time and had a lovely experience. The tanks were very well maintained especially for a large aquarium. I’d seen some reviews complaining of overstocking however the tanks were incredibly clean and well filtered, the fish looked very healthy. Again much better conditions than I’ve seen at say the world museum. I also thoroughly enjoyed the centres focus on a variety of species and even British species rather than just ‘fan favourite colourful’ fish. Although they still had a good variety of those. The cichlids tank had an excellent variety. The sturgeons are adorable as well as the dog fish. Loved the rock pools exhibit with the tidal simulation in one of the tanks. The tunnel was an absolute highlight as well the aqua theatre. Unlike previous tunnels I’ve been it this one wasn’t scratched up and it felt like you had time to walk at your own pace and enjoy the animals. Although we benefited from going outside of school holidays so avoided the majority of small screaming children. I loved that the cafe had windows into the main large tank really gave a unique experience. Overall, staff were kind, tanks were lovely and the exhibits are well looked after. My only complaint would be that I wish the information boards in certain spots were better laid out and there was slightly more prevalent information on climate change in ocean environments as well as micro plastics.

Wendy Jones 2 months ago

Experiencia fantástica: This venue has a large selection of well established aquariums. It was clean, accessible and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The cafe is a reasonable price and it cater well for children of all ages. It wasn't over crowded and there were plenty of parking spaces. An enjoyable day was had by all.

Experiencia fantástica: A Very Good Day Out With The Granchildren

Nick 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Went on a weekday hoping it would be quiet and 3 x coach loads of school children arrived which made it very hard to get around with a pushchair. Would be better if they did corporate days to prevent this issue. Place is quite dated and small. Took us about an hour to get around so didn’t feel like great value for money. The downstairs toilets smelt horrific. We left disappointed

Michael R 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Holidaying in the area, we had this on our list of things to do. We weren't disappointed. We went on the afternoon of Father's Day and it wasn't busy. They have some great exhibits, the only thing that is lacking is some better signage around the venue. It tells you about the outside bit, but I couldn't see any signs sending you downstairs to the show piece, we only hoped there was more to see down there. Which there was thankfully.

Alistair Holdsworth 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Good but a pretty short visit for what you pay to get in (£27.50/head). Car park is charged (at £2.75) though you do get a free coffee with this apparently.

Rachel Simonds 3 months ago

Experiencia fantástica: A brilliant day out! You pay for parking at the desk when buying tickets, everywhere was clean and tidy, animals all look well looked after, the talks are great we really enjoyed the shark one! The staff are friendly and informative would definitely recommend coming here!

Experiencia positiva: Lovely to visit this place again as used to go when I was little. It's just as I remember, which is nice. Can't believe how much the price has gone up, but everywhere has I guess. Worth it for a day out, although very sad no jellyfish or seahorses!

Melissa Kimg 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: The Aquarium is great to visit lots to see and lots of shows seeing the fish getting fed. They also have, frogs, lizards, snakes, tarantulas and pelicans. The shark tunnel was great and very large which was great. Only reason I never give it a five star was only because of a few reasons. The toilet facilities were not very clean, they need to be checked and cleaned more regularly. The cafe was very expensive a slice of cake costing £6:50 And the gift shop was the same not much choice and very expensive with most costing around £20. The outdoor nature trail could not see anything there and don’t really know why they have it but was a nice little walk outside but not good for disabled as very uneven. Overall would recommend and will return in the future.

Grant T 3 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Not overly impressed, thought it would be a good day out with the kids but we got round in just over an hour including the bits outside. Way finding signs, there’s almost none and it’s too expensive at nearly £30 per adult. I’d recommend sealife over Blueplanet unfortunately.

Andy Saunders 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Great to go back after nearly 20 years with the children and grandchildren. Still as good to see. Only thing that would be nice and I couldn't find was the type of fish and sharks in the main pool. I knew some but not all.

Experiencia positiva: We had a good day out here. Lots to see. We arrived at 2.30 and left at 5pm. The shark show was great. Some areas feel dated now. And some tanks feel like they should be bigger. The giant octopus for example seemed to be in a very small tank for its size.

Sparrow Q 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Good Aquarium, I took my 8 year old during a quiet period and was pleasantly surprised by how large this place was. It has lots of different sections with fish from different parts of the world, each tank has signs with the fish in, each fish has its own fun fact which is often related to conservation. The outside of the tanks and music for each area is different which gives some sensory experience. As well as fish and sharks there is a section on insect and another on amphibians and reptiles, for arachnophobs the insect bit may be a fright but still informative. The main attraction of the underwater tunnel is brilliant as the tunnel double backs on itself and the tank it's situated in has a large double high window prior to the tunnel. There is also an outdoor playground and nature walk with a roar-some surprise for further burning off energy. All this said I would still recommend looking for discount codes or vouchers as I found the ticket prices steep.

Kayleigh Hall 3 months ago

Experiencia negativa: I went here numerous times as a child and had fond memories… not sure what has happened? Visited today, it was completely empty, we saw around 10-15 other people there and it wasn’t hard to see why it was so empty. The place itself is dated and there is very little going on. Firstly we were directed to a talk/show that was supposed to be on and was told to follow a lady in a green top. She then went into a staff only door, another member of staff told us there was no show and the next would not be for an hour… The moving floor through the shark tunnel was either broken or switched off. The entrance fee I feel is extremely overpriced given there is little to see/do there. Wish I’d saved my money and gone somewhere else.

J Lloyd 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Was expecting a lot more So this has been on a place to visit for ages. Finally got round to going taking my nephew and niece both 8 for a trip to see the aquarium. We pre booked tickets but they are open for 6 months so we headed down early to make sure we got in. Arrived just after opening and didn’t have a big wait to get in. Parking is 2.50 bout we got told to show the ticket at the cafe for a free hot drink. The entrance behind the desks is not used to its full potential a lot of wasted space. There was a few activities for the kids to do as junior explores and the staff were great with them while they did a few guess what’s in the box only touching experience full of knowledge and helpful. We then headed into the aquarium and as much as it was good it looked a little dated and a few things missing from said areas. For the price of entry I was expecting a lot more than what we got to see. The tunnel through the aquarium is great but is that really what we came to see and pay nearly 85 pound entry for? We stopped off at the cafe and again hit with over the top prices but can’t fault the food spot on. After this we had a little wander outside to see the pelicans and spotted a dino trail. It lacks any effort or enthusiasm just some plastic dinosaurs plonked in a field. Yes we had a good time the kids did for sure was I fully happy with the entry fee and what we got not really. Wouldn’t return in a hurry. Such a shame as I was expecting great things from here.

Jodie Keeble 3 months ago

Experiencia fantástica: I was abit apprehensive with some reviews saying that it was very quick for the price or that there wasn't much to see... Well, we had the best time today. We spent 4 hours all together at blue planet. We took our time enjoyed sitting and watching the fish. We read all the information on tanks and found out some really cool facts. The talks were really good, especially the aqua theatre show with the divers. I would definitely come again and I recommend taking your time to enjoy and learn rather than rushing around.

Elle 3 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Took us 50 minutes to walk around and we paid £55! Glad our daughter was free. Waste of time, would’ve been better off going to Chester zoo (or the free aquarium at the World Museum). Wouldn’t recommend to anyone and won’t be coming again. I had to ask did we miss something as it was so underwhelming and I was expecting to be there for at least 2 hours and the staff member laughed and said nope we’ve been all around! No sea horses or octopus. Pelicans were sad to see as the enclosure was tiny and they kept extending their wings flapping like they wanted to fly and couldn’t (guess their wings have been clipped). 0/10 all around. Cade was empty, but looking at the food for the prices you can see why.

Kevin Vaughan 3 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Dropped my Daughter and granddaughter on her 2nd birthday and her Dad off here at Blue Planet while we went shopping. Later on was about an hour was about to order meals got a phone call to pick them up they said it was a load of rubbish not what it used to the Daughter said. She cried at the state of the Pelicans no octopus and place run down not worth the money they charge be better off going to Chester Zoo.

Experiencia positiva: Really interesting, my 5 year old loved it. Lots to see, but not cheap.

Lauren Millward 3 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Very average - on entry (11am during half term) only two people on desk. Pre booked and on the day tickets all being seen by these two staff, so pointless booking on advance, queuing out the doors into rain. Not a great first impression! Place was absolutely packed. Queue for cafe was full length of the cafe itself. No toilet roll in first three cubicles I tried. Nappy bins all full. The moving belt through the shark tunnel that the kids love not working. Saving grace was the kids still loved it. Cost close to £90 for my family and had seen everything (no talks) within an hour. Not worth the money.

Nicola Rehm 3 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Second visit in 3 years and I quickly remembered why I should have just went to the free aquarium in the World Museum. Went with a nearly 4 year old and 9 month old. It is really not worth the money. I'm happy to pay over the odds for things but bottom line is it's really just not that good. Around the whole aquarium in 50 minutes. 3.5 year old said the best bit about it was the play park and asked why all the fish were grey/brown which is a fair question... Drive a bit further and pay the same to go to Chester zoo.

Oliver Massey 3 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Not been for a years, and was a little disappointed. Not a lot of interactive screens and things you get at other aquariums like sealife. Definitely not worth the price for what it is.

Miyya M 4 months ago

Experiencia positiva: It's okay it's not very interactive and you spend most of the time just trying to see if you can spot anything or wondering if that cage is actually empty. I'm pretty sure the one with the lizard and hatching eggs is actually fake lol. There is a nice garden part outside with pelicans and dinosaurs too if you want to go for a walk though.

Rik 4 months ago

Experiencia positiva: I've been here before in the past, and unfortunately now its looking a little dated and could do with a bit of a face lift to get it back up to scratch. The upholstery around the shark tank was frayed and coming away from the walls and the glass is fairly scratched and could have done with a bit of a clean. Its sad, as I remembered it as an amazing day out and for the money I'd expect a little more. That being said, I did enjoy wandering around and looking at all the creatures, tho, unfortunately on this day the octopus one of my favorites was being exceptionally shy and refused to come out to play and the lack of jellyfish was somewhat disappointing. On this visit we spent roughly 3 hours wandering around, taking photos and trying to get our moneys worth. The reptiles area tho small was quite enjoyable as trying to spot the frogs, lizards snakes and spiders was quite challenging. The pelicans were indoors due to an outbreak of bird flu which is understandable, so we had a wander around the "dinosaurs". This was in reality, pretty underwhelming. Its a few, small to medium sized plastic dinosaur models which don't really offer much. I particularly enjoyed the overly small T-Rex. Just next to the child's play area which my child seemed to enjoy more than the aquarium itself, is a small ice cream shop. The vanilla and caramel ice cream I got was thoroughly enjoyable until my child decided that it was now theirs. We arrived at around 10am and there was no queue to get in, the lady on the desk scanned our ticket and we were straight in, it did, however seem to get busier around 12. The gift shop is as you'd expect overly expensive for what it is.

justyx povyx 4 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Too expensive for the size of place, 10-15£ should be fine per person, We paid 86£ and spent less then hour‍♂️ also food very expensive. Coca-Cola is more water then syrup But it's worth seeing once, most amazing thing is tunel, that's probably why all coming

Paul Colton 4 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Very good aquarium. Staff were very helpful. There are lifts if you need them as there are two levels. The lower level has more tropical fish and the shark tunnels which are some of the best I have seen. As a photgrapher my only remark would be the glass needs a good clean. There is a great cafe and I was told by staff that using my parking ticket you get one drink free. As for the shop it is a shame there are a lot of kids visiting but none of the items were in there price range. The cheepest thing i could find was £4. Get some pencils rubbers badges etc. All in all great day out.

Experiencia positiva: Blue Planet Aquarium is a fantastic family-friendly destination that offers an engaging and educational experience for all ages. The presentations are informative and well-organized, with instructors and underwater divers delivering captivating demonstrations. Visitors can enjoy close-up views of fascinating marine life while learning about ocean conservation. It's a perfect outing that combines fun, learning, and excitement under one roof.

Experiencia positiva: I thought it would have been bigger for the price. Was expecting to spend a couple of hours there but was done in just over an hour.

Catherine W 4 months ago

Experiencia positiva: A lovely aquarium and staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Tickets expensive for a couple of hours visit, though we appreciate it takes a lot of funds to keep the aquarium going. We booked in advance but could have turned up as it wasn’t busy from the general public - 5 school trips though which made it difficult for my autistic sons to cope with noise levels. Staff were great though and suggested quieter areas and the possibility of leaving and returning later if the kids needed a total break. Overall a lovely place to visit, shame it has to be so expensive or we’d consider going more frequently.

Paula Niemczyk 5 months ago

Experiencia positiva: It was our fist time visiting this aquarium and I must say I was disappointed. The tickets were quite pricey and what was inside did not reflect the price we paid. I understand the prices went up and I was happy to pay but I would appreciate a bit more effort especially when it comes cleanliness. Most of the aquariums could do with cleaning up from the inside as all I could see through the glass was smudges and sediments from the inside. Especially the main attraction which was the undersea tunnel which did appear quite dirty from the inside. I was also disappointed with the standard of the food. I did not expect a fine dining but I must say it wasn’t very tasty. We’ve had a burger with fries and the fries were cold when we’ve been given the food. The burger wasn’t particularly tasty either but it did the job. I also had a halloumi fries and they literally made me sick. There was more batter than halloumi and all I could taste when I was eating it was oil with every bite. Another disappointment were the downstairs baby changing toilets. I walked in and literally turned on my heel and walked out. I’m a mom so I am used to the smell of baby changing facilities but the bin was overflowing with nappies letting all of the odour out. It was very unpleasant to see. There were some empty exhibitions which I had no issues with but I wish there were more activities for children available such as petting stations (you couldn’t touch the water at all which I understand but for the price I’ve paid I could have gone to different aquarium that offers such experience for children). But not having the petting experience wasn’t that big of a deal but it would have been nice if there were maybe some other stations that would engage children more. There was one table with some colouring and the rest was just paid rides which completely took my little one’s attention and it felt like it’s there just to make parents spend more money.

Nguyen Tran 5 months ago

Experiencia positiva: If you want to go to this place, just be prepared to understand that the place is not that large. Yes, it is larger than Sea Life Manchester, but that’s not very difficult these days. Even your local Odeon or Cineworld is larger than that place. Blue Planet Aquarium can be fully experienced in about 2 hours, and that is with checking out every animal they have there. The only reason to stick around is for the presentations, but these are over really quickly. Everything there is overpriced like most other aquariums and zoos because of the required upkeep of such places, so if you want to eat there just understand a single pizza - which is about medium size - costs £16.25. You want ice cream? They will say they only do double-scoops for £4.50. One thing to look out for is that the ice cream is not a separate queue but you need to queue up as part of the main queue in order to order the ice cream, so make sure not to stand at the ice cream area because nobody will serve you. Overall, pretty average. I say only go if you can get discounted tickets, not worth full price to enter.

Experiencia positiva: Great Destination, family pass pays for itself after 3 ish visits. Good rainy day alternative to the nearby Zoo. Whole marine life experience is excellent. No complaints at all. Be aware, parking charge is mandatory for non members. Some facilities are needing renovation / missing: Entrance toilets (men's) are in need of renovation. Only 1x cubicle which is needing renovation No baby changing (that is obvious) in the entrance.

Experiencia positiva: Our second visit with our 7 year old grandson. He loved it so much we returned this Easter. It is an amazing place, so much to see and the egg trail made sure we saw it all… twice. Very busy but we were still able to see and experience everything except; There was no aqua theatre show as a faulty pump caused the main tank to be cloudy. We could still see all the fish but this plus the broken moving floor in the tunnels and dirty glass due to the cleaner divers being unable to work was a major disappointment which I believe should have triggered discounted entry. I’ve seen Blue planet at its best. It is currently below par so for the price I can’t recommend it until the issues are fixed. They do answer the phone so worth a call before buying tickets online to ask about the status of repairs.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a good visit to Blue planet. Well maintained, very clean, loads of species to see. There is also a nice place to eat and a good play area for the kids.

Experiencia positiva: Having being inspired by my recent visit to the aquarium in Cape Town I wanted my 4yr old grandson to have a similar experience here. Sadly not the case. For double the cost of my amazing encounter in Cape Town this sadly was lacking in almost every area. It’s very poorly signposted inside. There is a distinct lack of content with little in the way of labels on the tanks. So many exhibits did not have much to offer and I get that you don’t always see the animals, but very disappointing. There were only a handful of sharks to view. We were done in an hour and that isn’t good value for money. The staff, however, very friendly and helpful but watch out, it’s a money making racket in the actual aquarium itself, the cafe and the ridiculous prices in the shop!

Experiencia fantástica: Good experience for a day out, avoid busy times. We were lucky to have visited during a quiet time. Excellent staff and friendly place to visit and even eat at. The shop had a lot of stuff but it could get pricey. Good bargain for the kid's GIFT bag, recommended. Disappointed because my son loves dinosaurs and wanted to visit the Dino area. Quite a lot has changed since the last time I visited. The car park was spacious, paid online with tickets. The entrance to Blue planet had cars parked on both sides on the footpaths with a car dealership made it a bit difficult to understand or see properly the car park entrance up to the roundabout though the big signage was clear. Made the feeling of visiting a bit weird because of the road being narrow and unusually hard to see.

Experiencia fantástica: Blue Planet Aquarium offers a fascinating underwater experience with a great variety of marine life, including sharks, rays, and exotic fish. The underwater tunnel is a highlight. However, ticket prices feel a bit high, and some areas need maintenance. Overall, it’s a fun and educational visit for families and kids.

Experiencia negativa: Just okay. Visited on a Tuesday afternoon, fairly quiet aside from a school trip shrieking the whole time. It really isn't as good as it used to be, walked the whole thing in about 30- 40 minutes, online it says 2-3 hours no way is that true. At £27 per adult to enter, I think it leaves a lot to be desired and I wouldn't return. Half the cafe menu not available, prices extortionate, the shark tank walkway was closed and we only got told this as we arrived which in itself is disappointing, half of the reptile tanks were empty with refurbishment signs in them. It overall is pretty disappointing for the price in my opinion and I wouldn't return or recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: We haven’t been here for at least 15 years! So on a break in Chester we decided to visit. Tickets have shot up in price wow!! but, if it all goes towards keeping this place running it’s worth it. Husband and I really enjoyed it, lovely seeing all the different species. We really enjoyed the diver show! and Faye did a fabulous job speaking! :) Big Betty sure is a fabulous shark!! We visited during term-time so it was pretty quiet. Spent approx 2 hours here, loved it :)

Experiencia positiva: Really quite expensive for how big the place is. I guess it costs a fortune to run and to care for the fish/animals. Great to see the fish up close, though. We paid for parking, and then the barrier was up, so turns out we didn't need to. It was difficult to spend longer than two hours there, but a couple of the areas were closed.

Their aqua theatre talk was so great to learn all about sharks mostly, get a chance to see real divers and the experience of seeing a animal being fed which changes daily! The food was also amazing in the café with huge portion sizes and a variety to suit all allergies and preferences!

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing place, so big and great talks and demos. Took 3-4 hrs to get around and so much to see, puts places like sealife london to shame. The aqua theatre has a wonderful calming atmosphere, definitely will return

Experiencia positiva: A little expensive. £90 for 3 adults but free child. Food was over £40 but great couple of hours looking at the different creatures/fish my grandson loved the sensory element.

Experiencia positiva: Visited on 10.3.25 with my partner and our 2 children aged 3 years and 7 months. Myself and my partner have been several times before and our 3year old has also been once before when she was around 2months old. Whilst we have thoroughly enjoyed previous visits and also our most recent visit yesterday, both myself and my partner do feel that, sadly, the entrance cost is getting far too expensive for what is on offer. Yes, I understand all the running costs increase therefore entrance costs need to increase to reflect this, I just feel the aquarium could offer more to justify the expensive entry cost. I feel the area behind the reception/entry desks isn't being utilised to it's full potential. Yes, there may be some benches/seats to sit on, kids rides and teddy machines, I just feel this area would be better utilised by having tables out with a craft/colouring activity available all day everyday, therefore making the aquarium more appealing to younger children. It was a shame to not be able to see the Giant Pacific Octopus plus it was also a shame that the moving track throughout the tunnel was either not working or hadn't been switched on. I completely understood why the pelican weren't in their display outside (due to avian bird flu being in the area) however what I couldn't understand was why the Nature Walk was closed for the same reason. There also seemed to be several exhibits missing/empty with no explanation. Definitely recommend taking your own food when you go as the cafe prices are quite extortionate!! For example, the tuna baguette or roll that was on display in the covered food counter was £8.10, something you could get exactly the same at any supermarket for at least £5 cheaper, if not more!! The ice cream was also expensive at £4.50 for a 2 scoop tub, however it was delicious ice cream so I didn't mind paying that. Whilst we did thoroughly enjoy our visit yesterday, I do feel it will be a good few years before we will consider going again as we feel we have done everything there is to offer there.

Experiencia positiva: Nice place to take kids if it's their first time visiting an aquarium. Not a very big aquarium so you'll probably lap the place in 15mins. The highlight is the shark walk under the water.

Experiencia fantástica: Great aquarium. Visited for the first time in a while with my boyfriend, and he really enjoyed himself. Love the feedings and shows. It's a shame that the pelicans aren't currently there due to the bird flu, but we'll definitely visit again.

Experiencia fantástica: Went for my daughter’s birthday. Had a lovely day with the family. Can see it getting really busy but it wasn’t bad on the day we were there. Fish look happy and healthy and the staff we saw were really friendly. It’s pricey but worth it.

Experiencia positiva: Great family trip out, lots of great things to see. The kids loved seeing the animals. Only small downside was a lack of sign posting, the guide tells you what time special events take place in the day but no detail on which part of the aquarium. A few more signs leading you around would be beneficial as we almost left without seeing the main shark tunnels as the entrance is located behind a side wall from the auditorium, which you naturally walk straight up to as its huge and impressive so easily miss the other side entrance. I'd also say take your own food as the food prices were so expensive for what you get plus a long wait in peak times.

Experiencia fantástica: Great place lots to do, they had plenty of extras for the kids at half term as well.

Experiencia fantástica: I took my daughter and her bestie here for a Junior Shark Dive experience and couldn't recommend it enough. Going and visiting the aquarium is one thing, but this trip really gets behind the scenes of the work that goes on here. There's some very cool and friendly staff who want to help young people not only understand more about the marine biology of site and the breeding that's done here but the technical aspects of diving safely and enjoying being an actual fish for half an hour. It's one of those magical experiences for young people that helps them understand more about the world we live in and perhaps what they can do in it when they are older. We fed the big fish from above the tanks, and then after a comprehensive and in-depth training session, the kids go into the tank with experienced diving staff who take full care of them. Yes, it's not cheap, but it's worth every penny when you see how much care and attention goes into it. Even though I was only with them and didn't get wet, I loved it too! Great work, Blue Planet x

Experiencia fantástica: We bought a membership when my son was born, it was definitely worth it. Lovely place for a sensory experience for babies, though it's a shame they've reduced the interactive things for children over the years.

Experiencia positiva: Been wanting to visit here for about 10 years but been put off by the price. Finally got round to it yesterday and I'd say it's decent but not great value for money. There's a decent amount of fish, lizards etc. to see, but you can easily get round everything in an hour. The shark tunnel was really cool and probably the highlight. It feels a bit dated compared to SeaLife and is a similar size, but something it has over SeaLife is you don't have to arrive at a specific time and watch a show, so you're not bearded round in a group. The cafe is really expensive for the quality of the food though imo. Might be worth stopping for a brew and cake, but wouldn't recommend the hot food or baguettes. The play area is a nice extra and has a decent range of equipment. There's also loads of parking. I think the gate barrier is currently not working but you're offered a free hot drink if you've paid for parking. Enjoyed our visit but probably wouldn't visit again unless it was half the price.

Experiencia positiva: We really enjoyed this aquarium, it was open and spacious with lots to do and see. The children really enjoyed watching the octopus being fed, although the setup for this wasn't ideal. It's a shame that we didn't get to see the turtles or pelicans due to flu. Also I wished to see seahorses and jelly fish but there weren't any. The only thing I really wasn't happy with was the restaurant and the extortionate prices, £16.50 for a pizza and £3.50 for a juice felt nothing but greedy, so we decided to go elsewhere for food.

Experiencia negativa: Absolutely appalling. £106 for 2 concessions, 1 adult and 2 children. Extremely overpriced for a visit which took less than 1 hour. Overbooked, far too many people in at one time for health and safety. I there had been a fire it would have been a disaster. The council needs to address this. Pushchairs left anywhere for people to fall over. Many of the exhibits closed. Some of the glass you could not see through because it was too dirty. Many of the tanks overstocked with far too many fish for the volume. Everything looks tatty and in need of updating. Food overpriced and substandard. All in all a thoroughly miserable and depressing experience after travelling more than 1 1/2 hours to get there. It asks "do you recommend buying tickets in advance"? I recommend not buying tickets at all. I would like a refund but won't hold my breath.

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely fab. Kids love it. Adults also. Interesting/ my granddaughter was blown away with all the different species. Restaurant. Play area for kids. Fun day out.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a fantastic visit there on 19th Feb. My granddaughter loves Sharks and was extremely excited and happy during the visit. One particular member of staff was really helpful her customer care was excellent , didn't get her name unfortunately. I was also impressed with how hard the catering staff worked as it was incredibly busy at the Eating outlet.

Sue Rogers 7 months ago

Experiencia fantástica: Half term visit, so very busy but still enjoyable. Pre booked tickets on line. Paid for parking (2.95), you get a receipt which gets you money off a drink in the cafe. Lots to see, my 6 year old granddaughter loved it. The cafe was ok, slow service, bit pricey (lots of people had brought their own food). Play area outside is great.

Experiencia positiva: Been many a time before! Great half day out! All the tanks are great and our daughter loved every aspect! The outdoor play area was well enjoyed too. Negatives, the pelicans outside looked depressed and frankly the pen they "live in" looks a bit dank. Food and drink, is a bit over priced. Decor needs attention. Otherwise a great half day just needs a bit of investment and updating. Definatelygo though!

Experiencia negativa: Very expensive entry fee. The place itself is ok, but nothing wonderful considering the price. Toilets are dirty, no soap, eating area is absolutely filthy with food all over the floor. Prices of food are ridiculous - £8+ for a baguette on its own?! Even parking is £3! Could be decent, but these issues let it down massively. Quite disappointed to be honest.

Experiencia negativa: Horrible place. Dated and in need of maintenance. Poor animal conditions. Car park is a rip off. Already paying over 100 to get in then they try and sting you on yhe car park. Free parking as far as the eye can see outside the gate. The manager has a bad attitude and the staff are really un presentable. Really scruffy looking staff with poor customer service skills. On entering customers are made to queue and then squeeze through a football match type turnstyle It takes less than 2 hrs to see it all. No diver on the do a presentation for the kids and they can't even be bothered to switch on the conveyor in the tunnel. Chester zoo is about 3 miles away. Id suggest going there instead. Much more to do and endless exhibitions and play areas for the kids. Plus indoor picnic areas. Blue planet expect you to sit out in the cold if you bring yoir own food. Actually can't believe this place still operates. No wonder they have to give out cheap tickets in the holidays

Experiencia fantástica: Blue Planet Aquarium is a fantastic place to visit with children! The experience is truly amazing, with incredible underwater tunnels, fascinating sea creatures, and interactive exhibits that keep kids engaged. The large shark tank is a highlight, offering an up-close view of these majestic creatures. The daily feeding sessions and talks make the visit both fun and educational. With its well-designed layout and friendly staff, it’s a perfect day out for families. Highly recommended for a memorable adventure with your little ones!

Experiencia fantástica: My boyfriend took me to Blue Planet aquarium and it's the best aquarium I've been to! There are so many different fish and animals and you learn so much about all the creatures, especially from the talks given, which we found really interesting and well presented! You get so many different things here that we got over excited and had to have a break in the cafeteria, I thought it was a shame to be missing out on seeing all the amazing fish but even in the cafe, you can look into the giant aquarium and watch the sharks and coulourful fish while you eat! We loved walking through the tunnel and seeing the huge sharks and rays, you even get to watch the divers feed them. Would recommend this place for both adults and children!

Experiencia fantástica: We bought our daughter a dive experience for her 21st and I've got to say we all had a fab day! The centre is clean and well stocked, staff friendly and helpful. She loved her dive. Thanks for making it special.

Experiencia negativa: Quite small for the price of the tickets, gift shop extremely overpriced, fish grabber £8.25, £3 in the works, small plushies £12, hand puppet £14, plastic shark £3.25, left very disappointed. Managed to stretch the visit to 4 hours but we took an hour for lunch. Tickets no cheaper online.

Jessica Corbett 8 months ago

Experiencia negativa: It is extremely expensive when you can get around the whole aquarium within an hour . Money needs to be spent on improvements . The outdoor area could have a seal enclosure / penguins . The shark tunnel was good but there were no divers present to carry out the shows when we were there which was disappointing . It has so much potential but I feel like it’s stuck in a bit of a time warp. Not much has changed since I went as a child. The admission prices are overpriced and they also charge you to pay in the car park too!
