🗣️ Acuario de Waikiki: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: It took us an hour to explore. A nice insight into the species that are native to Hawaii. Parking is free for 2 hours.
Experiencia positiva: Whenever you’re in Waikiki and you have spare time and you wanna have your family involved to see all kinds of ocean life beautiful nature come to Waikiki aquarium 12 bucks and if you’re staying downtown, it’s only minutes from walking distance. You don’t even have to have a Uber, because you enjoy the Waikiki strip, Kalakaua Avenue! Aloha, Mahalo! Love life, love food, and shut up and eat! #shutupandeat!
Experiencia negativa: Extremely underwhelmed. Very little open right now. It's going through a renovation. Should've just completely closed until renovation was complete. If you can wait until it's completed. I'm sure it's a fun place to be.
Experiencia positiva: Mostly under renovation but is great to take the kids to see it.My daughter loved it. And prices are decent
Experiencia negativa: Boring, small, lack of exhibits. Nice staff. If you’re on vacation just go to one local to you back home, it can’t be worse than this. Only paid $24 for 2 tickets.
Experiencia negativa: Like others have stated, it only takes 45 minutes to go through everything (while taking your time). The exhibits are okay but nothing special. A fair few of them were down. The space feels a little run down and there’s a lot of empty space that’s not being used. The main exhibit was down as well. I don’t think anyone was happy or smiling other than the young children. I’m not really sure why the aquarium is in this state when it’s in the heart of Waikiki and part of the University of Hawaii, you would think there’d be more funding. The aquarium is over 100 years old which is a little sad. Having a gift shop inside feels like an insult on top of everything. I don’t really feel robbed since the entry price is only $12, but unless you have really young kids (5 or younger) I wouldn’t consider coming here until a major renovation has taken place.
Experiencia fantástica: We had a great native plant tour from Volunteer Alice, it was very interesting!
Experiencia fantástica: This is a beautiful Aquarium. The information given in audio is very interesting. Would definitely visit again.
Experiencia positiva: It’s a very small place but has real nice sea life and price is very reasonable
Experiencia positiva: It's $12 should be $5 it's cute but VERY SMALL it took 15 minutes to see everything
Experiencia positiva: Aquarium is very small. Price 12 an adult kids under 3 are free. We finished in about 30-45 mins. To be fair seems a good amount is under renovation.
Experiencia fantástica: Cute critters, beautiful ocean, nice parks nearby.
Experiencia fantástica: so fun! my husband and I just walked around and really enjoyed it! also seemed really kid friendly! we spent around an hour walking around! sweet seahorses were def the highlight and super friendly staff!!
Experiencia positiva: Waikiki Aquarium: A Mix of Old Charm and Marine Wonders The Waikiki Aquarium offers a fascinating glimpse into Hawaii's marine life, but it's a bit of a mixed bag. Parking is limited, though weekdays offer a better chance of snagging a spot. The outdoor exhibits are currently under renovation, which is a bummer, but the indoor displays are where the aquarium truly shines. The jellyfish are mesmerizing, and the grouper is a definite highlight. You'll also find plenty of other cool creatures to admire. The seahorses were especially amazing! However, the aquarium's age shows in some areas. Some of the signage and stickers feel a bit outdated. Still, if you're looking for a quick and easy way to see some amazing marine animals, and at a relatively cheap price, the Waikiki Aquarium is worth a visit.
Experiencia positiva: Very very small aquarium, we normally love aquariums and we finished everything in 15 minutes. Currently almost all of the outdoor exhibits are under construction so we may have just gone at an unfortunate time. There's a small indoor walk through area with lots of tanks and colorful fish and coral. Bathrooms are available, you get a parking pass when you pay your admission, there is very limited parking in front of the museum but it clearly turns over quite quickly due to the size of the aquarium. Staff was friendly and helpful!
Experiencia negativa: Half the exhibits closed it’s small and you probably can walk whole thing in 20 minutes or less.
Experiencia positiva: The aquarium has many excellent exhibits on the inside, but be aware that the majority of their exterior exhibits are closed for renovation. The Monk Seals are also currently on-loan elsewhere. The facilities are undergoing some updates, but what was open was in fairly good condition. The restrooms were clean but somewhat hidden. The gift shop is a bit too small and has too much stuff inside to easily navigate. The grounds were well-kept with a variety of plants. Several of the exhibits were being cleaned while we visited, but it didn't impact our time. We got to see a very wide variety of sea life, including fish, shark, seahorses, clams, jellyfish, and more. The exhibits are very well done. I wish more aquariums were like this one. The staff was very friendly, and were willing to answer questions. Currently, you have to buy tickets at the gate as they are not available online. The admission price is reasonable, but do note that they take all type of credit cards except American Express.
Experiencia negativa: Probably the worst aquarium I’ve ever been to there is literally three sharks in total and a whole bunch of tiny fish. Very disappointing to say the least.
Experiencia negativa: We've enjoyed the aquarium in the past but they're really pulling one over on people now. They are charging full rates but half of the place is closed off and that includes ALL of the outdoor exhibits. So no interactive experiences - just walking around in the dark looking at aquariums. It's NOT worth the price of admission anymore.
Experiencia negativa: In such a spectacular setting, it is criminal to see such a sad site as the Waikiki Aquarium. Is there no budget? What in the world has happened to allow this place to become so rundown? Honolulu deserves better. There must be someone who wants to invest to bring this aquarium amazing exhibits, highlight conservation and inspire the many tourists visiting the area. Even the store is tragic—so full of plastic garbage. Shame on U of H!!! Embarrassing.
Experiencia positiva: Not highly recommended. But it was a good time for checking in for kids
Experiencia fantástica: Loved the fishes and it was super relaxing. Kinda sad I didn’t see a seal, but price of $12 was worth it!
Experiencia positiva: The parts of the aquarium that are open are good. However, the monk seal and other outdoor exhibits were closed. A couple of aquarium volunteers were available to help explain the exhibits and answer questions. I was disappointed that there was no explanation of the exhibits' closure, but I just considered it a donation.
Experiencia negativa: Great collection of sea life it’s such a shame the centre was in such poor shape. Some of the exhibits weren’t well maintained. I hope they continue to refurbish and expand the entire aquarium because it could be so spectacular
Experiencia negativa: Maybe I've been to too many aquarium but this one was really disappointing. There was nothing to see outside, the aquarium was under construction/renovation. I went on their website before visiting and nothing stated that condition nor that their was no seal. We felt like it was a total rip-off. We were there for maximum of 30 minutes. Don't waste your time going. One good thing is that their was one staff that was really nice and she thought us some things about shark and the fishes that were in that tank. The fishes on display were very beautiful.
Experiencia positiva: Fun little aquarium for a quick visit. The phone narration for the displays were nice. Looked like they had good activities for the kids. It is small and the monk seal exhibit is closed for some time, but it's still worth a visit. We enjoyed it.
Experiencia positiva: A pretty nice aquarium, but only the indoor parts of it were open. The monk seal was away on loan and other outdoor exhibits were under renovation. We liked the indoor exhibits though! Some of the tanks were a little cloudy and we noticed that the signage didn’t always match the fish that were actually in the tank. At one point a staff member came out and shared some fun facts about the sharks and large fish that were in the big tank, which we would’ve liked more of. Overall a pretty enjoyable visit but we wished there was more to see when we were being charged full price admission.
Experiencia negativa: I brought my kids, and that was a huge mistake. There were only 7-10 little aquariums. That’s all! There is nothing to watch at all. Very disappointed! It's not even worth $12 for the ticket.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice aquarium, some exhibits are truly mind blowing. Other reviews noted it’s smaller, but that just means you will have enough time to see every exhibit and not rush through. We really enjoyed our time there
Experiencia positiva: We really enjoyed our visit to the Waikiki Aquarium! It’s a smaller space, but beautifully curated with a lovely variety of marine life native to Hawaii and the Pacific. The jellyfish and coral exhibits were especially mesmerizing. Staff was friendly and informative, and the outdoor area gave a nice view of the ocean. The only reason I’m giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that the visit was a bit short — we finished in under an hour. Still, it’s a wonderful stop, especially for families or anyone interested in marine biology. Definitely worth supporting!
Experiencia fantástica: Nice aquarium in beautiful location. Support a great cause. Admission is a deal compared to most Waikīkī attractions.
Experiencia negativa: Very limited and small. You can see more fish at the pet store. It only takes 5-10 minutes to see everything.
Experiencia positiva: The Waikiki Aquarium offers a glimpse into the marine life of Hawaii, but it may feel underwhelming for seasoned aquarium enthusiasts. Having visited several aquariums globally, I found this one rather small in comparison. During my visit, the outdoor exhibits were unfortunately under renovation and inaccessible, which limited the experience. However, the sea dragons and jellyfish tanks stood out as exceptional highlights. Both exhibits showcased the delicate beauty and mesmerizing nature of these creatures, making the visit worthwhile. The aquarium seems particularly tailored to children, with its approachable size and engaging displays suited for younger audiences. One notable positive was the friendly staff, who were welcoming and helpful throughout the visit. For families with children or those with a casual interest in marine life, the Waikiki Aquarium may be a charming destination. For others seeking a more expansive or immersive experience, this might not be the ideal choice—especially if you have the opportunity to go snorkeling.
Experiencia positiva: Echoing what others have said, the Waikiki Aquarium is a charming little place. At a reasonable $12 per adult, I found the experience to be well worth it, particularly given the aquarium's commitment to conservation. The shark tank was a definite highlight, as were the leafy seadragons! It was a shame the seal exhibit was closed on my visit, but there were volunteers pointing out baby birds in the surrounding trees that honestly made up for it. Net-net, if you're looking for a way to spend the afternoon in some A/C in Waikiki and like ocean wildlife, I'd recommend checking this place out!
Experiencia fantástica: A good place to wander around if you don’t have better plans
Experiencia negativa: This should be called "A small collection of fish tanks" rather than an aquarium. It's just all around really bad. Extremely small, not worth the admission fee, and -- possibly due to timing -- there was literally nothing outside and the monk seal exhibit was gone. Add to that the terrible parking situation, and we spent more time finding a parking spot than we did in the "Aquarium." Please save yourself some time and money and avoid this place.
Experiencia positiva: Very disappointing! It's literally Hawaii known for its ocean life, yet the aquarium is so damn small! I was expecting a lot more.
Experiencia fantástica: Small aquarium. It had a lot of very exotic fish I have never seen before. Loved the jellyfish and sea horses. $12 per adult. $8 kama’aina. $5 for juniors and seniors. It can get busy so try to get there early to avoid big crowds.
Experiencia positiva: Small aquarium but is has diverse types of sea creatures including seals, fish, turtles, seahorses I would say that kids would love it
Experiencia positiva: Small aquarium, very limited display, in march 2025 there was a lot of renovation going on, there was no outside animals just empty places. It effectively took 5-10 min to view everything there. It is maybe worth visiting with very small kids, like below 2, but not for older.
Experiencia fantástica: I love the Waikiki Aquarium. It's quite small but has wonderful exhibits, with beautiful fish, seahorses, sea dragons, and a big beautiful grouper that I just love so much. One of my favorite places to bring people when they visit, and all the people working there are really nice. Highly recommend
Experiencia positiva: A cute aquarium, even though it looks small on the outside, it contains so many different aquatic species. It’s post outdoor and poster indoor. Really cool and worth a look at if you’re on the beach near it.
Experiencia negativa: Neat fish, but not worth the money to visit. Exhibit is incredibly small. And they have the same fish in nearly every tank. The outdoor exhibits were all closed.
Experiencia positiva: A cute little aquarium. Under construction when I went so no monk seal. It's nice if you aren't going snorkeling- or to help identify fish you've seen. For the price it's worth it, just know it's small. Plan on an hour tops. Nice less crowded beach with turtles for snorkeling next door. As aquariums go it ranks low but the experience was a really pleasant one.
Experiencia fantástica: Small but they really incorporate corals and salt water plants with their fishes. Unlike other bigger aquarium that has fake corals.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice little self tour. Very friendly staff.
Experiencia positiva: While locals call this aquarium underwhelming, we really enjoyed it as the first stop on our honeymoon. There's not much outside with the seal currently on sabbatical, but I really enjoyed the displays inside and the staff were really nice and informative. Super good value for the ticket and a nice way to spend a morning.
Experiencia positiva: The aquarium is surprisingly affordable. It cost $29 for two adults and a 4 year old. It is small but mighty. There are washrooms located outside by the outdoor exhibits and water fountain. There is a gift shop too! We went on a Tuesday morning and it wasn't too busy.
Experiencia positiva: Small but charming and, as usual with aquariums, you can count on the critters to be active! Everything was clean and there were only 1-2 unavailable exhibits. The signage on different animals and fun facts varies by tank, but it would have been helpful to have a few more. There were 2 spots with workers/volunteers: one with a children's activity and one near the shark/grouper tank. It was great to hear from them and I wish we had used the audio tour because of it.
Experiencia positiva: Very small. They don't tell you part of it is closed for renovation. We saw everything in less than an hour. I recommend pairing this activity with the zoo.
Experiencia fantástica: The aquarium was nice we brought our daughter an area was under construction for outside, so there’s nothing to see there but overall, it was a quick nice, not overpriced fair aquarium and it was nice to park on the street again very inexpensive and convenient to all other activities
Experiencia positiva: Very small aquarium but it is quite nice. It seems that they are missing a lot of their exhibits — everything that was outdoors was closed down and empty.
Experiencia fantástica: If you have a half hour to spend, come on down and enjoy the Waikiki aquarium. They have fishes and sharks, sea horses, jellies and sea stars. Cool place to spend a half hour and enjoy the marine life that Hawaii has. It's only 8$ for kamaaina and 12$ for non residents. Cool place to hang out and see what's in the ocean. If you want more of Hawaiis marine life check out Maui Ocean center on a different island. Very enjoyable!!
Experiencia positiva: It’s super small. On top of that there is a large construction project ongoing which means only 1/3 of Aquarium is open
Experiencia fantástica: From moment I entered I was greated with such welcoming hospitality! I was offered a local or military discount even though entrance was less than $10 and included free parking ( extremely generous for an expensive city!!) the volunteer staff was super helpful and informative. I loved how much everyone there seemed to love their job even the sweet maintenance guy ( so wish I remembered his name because we had excellent discussion about conservation efforts!) So important to spread knowledge and love of the aina the land and ocean!! I regret not visiting sooner when I was raising my 2 young boys in Honolulu.. We always went to zoo but never too time to visit the awesome aquarium ( I actually thought it was going to be too expensive on a military salary!) I have to give so much credit to the management I met when I was at gift shop and one can definitely feel his pride and care of the wonderful establishment and why I am giving 5 stars plus. I have membership at Maui Aquarium but enjoyed the hospitality and volunteer staff at Waikiki. Mahalo!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Affordable activity to pass the time. Took us about 1.5hr to walk through. The information is geared more toward adults than can be explained to children. The kids enjoyed looking at each tank and learning about the different corals found around Hawaii.
Experiencia negativa: Negligence is the only word that comes to mind. I’m not a big animal person but growing up we had a fish tank and we kept it clean. While I know they are under construction, it was concerning to see the fish were all fed with murky water instead of proper food. The tanks were horribly dirty and in one there seemed to be a very dead fish that was supposed to be acclimated but it was sunk to the bottom of the net and not moving. There was also a sad little lonely seahorse holding on to a tiny piece of kelp by itself and the tank was dirty. I attached photos, and I know this is dirt because we had to clean the tank to keep the mold and growth from affecting our own fish tank. There’s no reason the staff should not be cleaning the tank and keeping the fish clean and not covered in mold. If you all fix this, I will absolutely take this down.
Experiencia positiva: Tiny aquarium that's perfect for toddlers to explore. Definitely meant for toddlers as there's not much else beyond the small aquarium exhibits.
Experiencia positiva: The Waikiki Aquarium is a fantastic gem nestled along the shores of Honolulu, offering an enchanting experience for visitors of all ages. Our family visit to this charming aquarium was both educational and delightful, leaving us with a deeper appreciation for marine life.
Experiencia negativa: Was disappointed that the aquarium wasn't very big. We literally walked through the entire thing in 15mins! (Family size 6) not worth the money.
Experiencia fantástica: KEEP WONDERING. CONTINUE BEING AMAZED. WANT UNFORGETTABLE, UP-CLOSE AND PERSONAL ENCOUNTERS WITH SOME REMARKABLE DEEP SEA CREATURES? .This is a relatively small, but highly information-packed, well designed aquarium facility. Their elegant, well-lit exhibits, ocean salt-water tanks containing a wide variety of sea-life keep the viewer of all ages riveted to the unfolding action. I highly recommend this visit. I believe, that you and each member of your family, young or old, will be absolutely enthralled and not be disappointed from your various encounter(s). This is a REMARKABLY FUN, unforgettable outing for the whole family. THANK YOU for your support of this local business.
Experiencia negativa: Indoor exhibits were interesting, but the information on the signboards didn’t always cover all the species in each tank, leaving gaps in the educational value. It was especially sad to see seahorses and sea dragons confined to sparse tanks that vastly differed from their natural habitats. Outside, the seal pool was drained and dried out for maintenance, and there was very little else to see once we exited the indoor exhibit so our visit was a short one. Visitors were still charged full price despite a reduced experience. While marine conservation is vital, the Waikiki Aquarium left much to be desired. This facility needs a significant overhaul to meet modern standards, focusing on creating enriching habitats, not incarceration. Until then, it serves as a somber reminder of the impact of keeping marine life for human entertainment.
Experiencia negativa: The habitats were too small. Had a pretty broad selection of animals but each had very small and dirty tanks when we went summer of 2023.
Experiencia fantástica: Cute little aquarium nestled in front of the beach. Smaller than we initially expected with a few quick walk through exhibits. This set up is perfect for toddlers and small children. We spent a lot of time sitting in the resting area outside, enjoying the breeze underneath the shade and listening to the sounds of the waves.
Experiencia negativa: A great an inexpensive little outing but very underwhelming. Specificly on 12-13-24. The indoor exhibits are nice but several are closed. Other indoor tanks had no lighting making it impossible to see anything. When you get outside there are 2 small fish aquariums. All the large exhibits are closed. Making the only thing to really see the indoor exhibits. Take the kids but they are still charging full price with half the attractions down. There is no notice that I saw making the public aware. So maybe wait and verify they are fully up and running before paying the ticket price.
Experiencia negativa: Literally go anywhere else. 30 minutes of wasted time and money, the fish were definitely fish yet the place felt rundown, empty, overpriced, and dirty. The main attraction monk seal wasn’t even here, and I think that’s the kinda thing I should know before I pay to get in. A lot of stuff is just not there and not worth the hassle. If you’re a tourist, don’t waste a day here, go to your aquarium back home it’s probably better. Also, as a University of Hawaii program, there should at least be some benefit for actual students of the university. No discounts for students when it’s an academic program??
Experiencia negativa: Growing up, I used to love going to the Aquarium on the weekends and on field trips with my school. There were tons of varieties of fishes and the exhibits were well kept. It's been about 15 years since my last visit and unfortunately it was extremely disappointing to see how run down the Aquarium has become. If you look all around you, it is quickly obvious that whoever manages the facility does little to upkeep the place. Lots of peeling paint, outdated exhibits, and a general feeling of dinginess. There's also lots of empty exhibits and what was once the highlight of the Waikiki Aquarium, the hawaiian monk seal habitat, is now a dried up pool. A bit of advice...save your money and pass on the Aquarium.
Experiencia positiva: The second oldest aquarium in the United States after the New York City aquarium. The perfect addition to the reefs and fish areas next to Waikiki
Experiencia fantástica: 10/10 go if your on vacation and visiting the area. Great staff, good entry price, and so many interesting creatures to see. Had a ball. PS the Halloween decorations were a neat touch
Experiencia fantástica: This aquarium has awesome coral displays and some awesome fish ones too. I’ve been a couple of times and it seems like it needs a bit more love but still really great. I’ve been three times and this was my first time with a toddler. He loved it. Great place to allow him to peep some fish and I great to appreciate the corals.
Experiencia positiva: Very small aquarium, around 10min spend there. The best part is the octopus and the small shark Colorful fish. Notice⚠️ HAWAIIAN MONK SEALS ARE TEMPORARILY OFF EXHIBIT‼️
Experiencia fantástica: This small but cute aquarium is just adorable. I love seeing the sharks swim.
Experiencia fantástica: Cute little aquarium and a great beach from the heat. Loved the seahorse exhibit!
Experiencia fantástica: The aquarium it’s pretty small and less attractions than other aquariums I’ve been to, but it’s worth it. There is a lot of different things and videos, explanation of things I did not know about. My husband and I loved it!!
Experiencia positiva: A small aquarium with many small exhibits. PERFECT for small children so they can be up close to the marine life. The seal exhibit was closed for renovation, so there wasn't too much to see outdoors. For adults, it was small. There were extensive coral displays, but nothing really over-the-top. Nice people working there. Some of the tanks needed cleaning.
Experiencia fantástica: Small aquarium. Perfect if your looking for something to do that would only take about an 1hr. We went to the zoo first and then walked to the aquarium.
Experiencia fantástica: Visiting from out of state and figured the aquarium would probably be an amazing experience here, it wasn’t bad! The seal monk was out for the day and that is probably the main attraction. Very very small aquarium but still worth it. We met the sweetest old man who volunteered there and shared some stories with us.
Experiencia fantástica: Relatively small aquarium, but great diversity of marine life on display!
Experiencia fantástica: Small aquarium, but really good and interesting.
Experiencia positiva: Very small aquarium but beautiful displays of fishes, jellyfish, seahorses and colourful corals. Didn’t get to see the seals as they were renovating their enclosure. Enjoyed walking around after visiting the zoo (15min walk down the road). Took approx 30min to see it all. No lineup and you can buy tickets there.
Experiencia positiva: Only a $12 admittance fee. This aquarium is very small & showcases all the beautiful local fish, some you wouldn't necessarily see if snorkeling. It was a nice break from the heat. My favorites were the seahorses & seadragons.
Experiencia positiva: Very small but definitely a cute place worth visiting. I loved learning about how the aquarium helps with conservation. I was a bit sad that most of the outside was empty. We did get a cute picture book. I would probably recommend people visiting for a longer period of time. They also offer military and local discounts for tickets.
Experiencia fantástica: Really pretty aquarium, small and easy to get through in about 35 minutes. Beautiful grounds, plenty of tropical fish to see and reasonably priced at $9 for an adult.
Experiencia positiva: It was a small, but beautiful aquarium. The sea horses and jelly fish were the best parts.
Experiencia fantástica: Small but well maintained aquarium that's also going through some improvements. All the tanks are clean and appropriately lit with a great variety of native species. Many of the tanks were easy to view for my two year old to just walk up to, and he ended up staying at each tank for more than several minutes in pure fascination. Very easy to navigate with a stroller. There is a cute tiny gift shop you can browse near the entrance.
Experiencia positiva: The information and species are beautiful. This is a very small aquarium. It would be good for small children, but has its limits on species.
Experiencia positiva: Great little aquarium for an hour or two of entertainment. It's not a large aquarium, but it is very well maintained. Prices are fair, especially with a local discount. Overall, the Waikiki Aquarium was a great time and my kids loved it. Parking can be a little difficult because it is Waikiki after all, so be patient driving around the street in front of the aquarium waiting for someone to leave because the parking lot for the aquarium is pretty small.
Experiencia fantástica: Visited in March and loved it! A small aquarium but quiet and quaint. The animals all seem very well cared for and are so fun to just stand and watch. I knew there were no seals before visiting so I wasn’t disappointed as other people have stated in reviews. The gift shop is small but has plenty of cute items. Definitely not a whole day worth of entertainment but worth a visit!
Experiencia fantástica: Definitely one of the smaller aquariums I've been to but I definitely love going here just to see all the fish and their giant grouper. The volunteers here really try to make your experience memorable by teaching you about some of the animals in the outdoor tank. I definitely recommend going here and supporting the aquarium!
Experiencia fantástica: Great little aquarium!! Tanks are impeccably maintained. Beautiful exhibits. Wasn't crowded at all. Took some cute lil photo's right when we walked in and they are adorable memories to keep for a lifetime. Would definitely recommend this lil gem of an aquarium!!!
Experiencia positiva: This place is a small aquarium with a good selection and diversity of various Hawaiian fish. It takes about 30 or so minutes to see and there are very few parking spots but plenty of side parking would definitely recommend given its cheap price and it’s right across from the zoo as well.
Experiencia fantástica: This is the second oldest aquarium in the world and if you're on a visit to Waikiki I suggest you catch the trolley here they drop you off right in front the blue trolley we had a really good time the jellyfish were amazing plus the white tip reef sharks were huge and the Goliath grouper was the size of a car so make sure you go through all the exhibits in the beginning they have you take a couple pictures The tickets are fairly cheap so I suggest you get the book cuz it's something you'll never forget thank you very much
Experiencia fantástica: We went to the aquarium while in Waikiki. It was $14 to enter. We spent about 1.5 hours here. It had plenty of things to see and do. There are no seals here anymore which we never knew before going. Really enjoyed the visit.
Experiencia fantástica: The Waikiki Aquarium's 120th anniversary was a local treat for us, showcasing the marvels of marine life right in our backyard. From the vivid fish displays to the hypnotic jellyfish, it was a day of discovery and appreciation for the ocean's wonders. The event highlighted the aquarium's dedication to conservation and education over the years, making our visit not just fun but meaningful. Celebrating such a milestone at the aquarium was a unique way to connect with our community and the natural beauty that surrounds us. A true highlight for residents and visitors alike!
Experiencia fantástica: Small, but amazing. The tanks looked bright, clean and well maintained. Fascinating displays of fish, coral, giant clams, seahorses.. the outdoor tank is really cool.. The place seems a little timeworn and underfunded. There must be a small army of staff and volunteers behind the scenes holding it all together as a labor of love. Definitely worth checking out!
Experiencia positiva: A wonderful use of space! Family friendly with many exhibits for kids to get into the jellies, sea horses, sharks, fish, and more! Indoor and outdoor spaces, my 18 month old loved the "bubble" that allowed him to lean into the giant tanks to see the fish up close. The sea lions have been out for over a year and we are anxious to see them in the future, as well as development of the empty green space. Parking fills up fast and parking passes are good for up to 2 hours with purchase of entry tickets.
Experiencia positiva: Good experience to learn about reef animals. The aquarium is small so you could finish the tour under 30-45 mins. Staff are friendly and around to answer your questions about the animals. Overall positive experience.
Experiencia fantástica: It was a small place but only cost $12. There were lots of really cool fish, seahorses, jellyfish, coral and more. Unfortunately the seals were not there when i went.
Experiencia positiva: Lovely place to go for families with small kids. You’ll probably get through the whole thing in under 30 min. We had a very good time and glad we went. 3 adults (locals rate) and 3 kids cost us $26. Some of the displays were shutdown. When we went there was no petting ray area for the kids.
Experiencia positiva: This was a very cool aquarium, although small it felt larger due to the audio guide that my wife and I had on our phone, the audio guide made the experience very enjoyable.
Mahalo for supporting the Waikiki Aquarium. We hope to see you again soon!
