Experiencia negativa: Very dirty tanks, minimal selection, multiple dead fish in the tanks. They do have a lot of tank decor, but echo other reviews where that side is just chaos and dusty with things all over the place.

Experiencia negativa: I've been in here twice, and I'm not impressed. The salt water display tank in the front was barely dripping from the clogged filter. Multiple dead fish, extremely limited stock, dirty and disorganized. I saw 2 axolotls a monthish ago, and they looked fine...went in yesterday and it's missing all of its gills and looked rough. I'm always down to buy fish, but most tanks were empty and the small stock they have isn't that great. The back room is just weird and a waste of half a store with 3d printers and overpriced stuff covered in dust. Small shop that nobody seems to be taking pride in. Comes off as someone who just likes to sell fish, but has no idea what they're doing.

Experiencia fantástica: Friendly, helpful, and understanding. I'm new to saltwater so I had questions and concerns. There was a younger guy that was a bit quiet, but after asking my questions, and some help from the owner, he was very helpful and talkative. The owner was also helpful and understanding. I got a friendly vibe from the people working there. The store doesn't look like the pictures and could use some cleaning up/reorganizing. There's an urchin in the front tank that could be a cool display piece but the tank is very covered in algae. There were a lot of corals that I'm excited to come back and buy. I'll be back to support this small business.

Experiencia fantástica: Decent selection at decent prices. The mother was there when we went and she was very helpful. Left with 2 new saltwater fish, and 6 corals. Good saltwater and fresh water selection, corals, equipment, food for the fish and corals and a super cute guinea pig

Experiencia negativa: Terrible shop. The lady working didn’t even bother to greet us, shelves and floors overflowing making it hard to get around. I have no fish knowledge so I cannot speak on any of that but there was a crested gecko in very poor condition. No moisture in the tank and the food was dried up solid. Same with the bearded dragons. There was two Pac-Man frogs sitting in completely dried up sphagnum moss with no water. Owner replied in a previous review that he does not offer hides as to “show off the animals” that are for sale. These animals do not thrive if they cannot hide and feel safe. DO BETTER OR SHUT IT DOWN! These animals are being neglected and suffering for your ignorance! Do not shop here and support this care!

Experiencia negativa: Looks nothing like the pictures, almost unrecognizable from the pictures from 4 years ago. Not sure what happened but my wife and kids said there was a dead gecko shriveled up and dried out in one of the cages and I saw a dead fish in one of the salt water tanks. Looked like nothing is taken care of and also looked like atoll of fish had fin rot.

Experiencia negativa: We were excited to buy from a local store, as we love to shop small businesses in our community. The owner assured my husband that the bearded dragon he was looking at would be a better fit since it was about 6 inches long and “already grown out of the age that anything could really go wrong.” I’ve tried to call the store to talk about the health of the poor little guy and whoever answers offers no help, he wasn’t even able to recommend a veterinarian. I’m certain this BD was either a surrender or maybe didn’t have the right environment and/or diet while in their care. It’s really unfortunate and sad quite honestly. Will not be returning and I wouldn’t recommend any reptiles from them. I can’t speak for the saltwater supplies or fish.

Experiencia fantástica: Best place to buy reptiles. All cb bread reptiles. From local breeder's. I know for a fact that they get the best reptiles around. They don't buy from the big box wholesalers. Like your chain stores do.

Experiencia negativa: Reptiles were not taken care of well- there was a leopard gecko kept on sand with nothing but a single hide, basking light, and at least a few weeks worth of droppings in the corner. On top of poor husbandry, the owner was not clear on where he was buying these animals from; cheap prices and the boxes on top of the aquariums make me believe it's all from wholesale markets, which produce a lot of ethical questions about this shop.

Experiencia fantástica: Love going here for fresh water fish and shrimp my pea puffers and now my reptile stuff from filters to food bedding and accessories. Super friend staff. Highly recommend.

The owner will help you out to find exactly what you need even if he doesn’t have it in stock. This place is definitely worth visiting.

Experiencia fantástica: Our goldfish didn't work with our albino African clawed frog and our plecoctemus got to big for our tank so we took them to badgerland saltwater!! Also decided to go back to get some fish that WILL go with the drog

Experiencia fantástica: Oh my goodness, I can not rate Jerimiah high enough. I am just getting into saltwater as a hobby so of course I have a million questions. He took the time to answer all of my questions and guided me to what I could have in the tank and what I couldn't. He didn't rush me away or seem annoyed at all. He seemed genuinely happy to help He could have very easily sold me all sorts of stuff but he took the time to actually explain it all. While I only bought 10 gallons of water and 4 fish, I was able to leave with a wealth of knowledge worth far more. I will happily be back soon. Thanks again.

Excellent service, what he didn't know he looked up for us and he went above and beyond to make sure our fish's needs are met plus gave great advice for safely cleaning tank equipment. I got this adorable fresh water Red Flame Sword plant along with an airstone. I highly recommend this shop for freshwater and saltwater aquariums.

Experiencia negativa: Edit to my original post. My parents had a few problems with stocking their tank and misinformation by a staff member. They have a 75 gallon freshwater tank, and had been stocking slowly(per my request) and as they were adding angel fish, they had a die off that was blamed on them, and it shouldn't have been. They were sold multiple juvenile angels that hadn't even been released from the shipping bags they were delivered in, without being told the risk of buying such young, stressed fish. A MASSIVE no-no in this industry. All but one out of that group died, when they tried to understand why it happened, the guy brushed them off and told them it was their water. WITHOUT TESTING THEIR WATER. They have an at home kit and I test their water when I visit, the parameters were within a healthy range(no ammonia, nitrites, or nitrates, ph and hardness also within a healthy range for acidic species) I own an aquatic service business and have worked with animals for over a decade, and was honestly so disappointed hearing about this. We were so excited to have an lfs so close to them. They ended up going to PetSmart to restock their fish and will probably never step back into this pet store. Was visiting with my parents over the weekend, and am in the process of helping them set up a freshwater community tank. I wanted them to have a lfs that she could rely on since I'm 200+ miles away. The fish and Inverts are well care for, the system set up makes for easy viewing, and prices were REALLY reasonable. I purchased a round tail hellboy male betta, and have every intention of going back with a cooler to stock up on coral and supplies.

Experiencia negativa: Went in recently and while the owner was very nice, numerous saltwater fish tanks had dead fish in them as well as fish heavily breathing on the bottom. Most were also covered in algae or cyano. In addition, I saw some freshwater tanks that looked like they had ich on the fish. Their coral tanks looked excellent though, but overall I could not buy anything given the state of the tanks

Experiencia fantástica: I like this private small business because the personal attention that cannot be found at larger higher traffic aquatic centers that are not focused on FISH and CORALS. When every type of dog, cat, guinea pig and pet supplies are added at other shops. Staff are so stressed out with so much stocking and the number of customers “They have No Time for You” or You wait in long lines for help and to check out. Staff turn over is so high at the box stores that you’re out of luck with service and finding knowledgeable staff. The guy at Badgerland Salt Water not only knows his stuff but has time for you.

Experiencia negativa: I spent 5 minutes in the store and was never greeted so I walked out as the owner was too busy talking with someone else than to acknowledge a customer. The inventory was extremely limited, and I’ve seen individuals with better assortments in their basements. Keep on driving and go to Main Street Reef in Rockford it’s a much better shop with friendly and helpful owners.
