Experiencia negativa: My Saltwater Tank Disaster: Let me start by saying this is only the second time that I have done a review like this. Just think folks need to know… In the 10 months that Aquatic Underworld has been servicing my Saltwater tank, it has been at least 5 different guys that have come out to my house.... More importantly, my tank is a complete disaster due to the lack of true “Saltwater” tank experience on their part. To make matters worse, the owner called me last Friday (2 Feb 24) because there was a miscommunication on their part and the maintenance guy (who would have been the 6th different guy to come out) didn't show up. The owner is the rudest, most disrespectful person in customer service that I have ever spoken with, this includes almost 30 years of military travel around the world. I have paid Aquatic Underworld hundreds of dollars over the last 10 months, and all I have to show for it is a Saltwater tank that is a complete disaster. Additionally, based on their lack of experience and greed, I will have to spend hundreds of dollars to just get things back to normal. With that said, it’s the lack of accountability, professionalism, and attitude (especially by their leadership) that's really shocking to me. ______________________________________________________________ I am back....I missed your very inaccurate response because I don't make it a habit giving out bad reviews... I tried to keep it professional but seems like you took it personal. So here we go... everything you listed in your sorry response is a complete lie. You acquired the company at the same time of the issues at least that what I was told. I only spoke to you once... which was the last day because your attitude was garbage and thanks for confirming it with your no accountability response -- you proved all of my points for me. Lets talk facts for a second...I have (still) dozens of text highlighting the issues as well as what was done (and not done) to include paying for "mileage" really... My tank was NOT looking like that before "Aquatic Underworld" started maintenance.... by the way, it looks fantastic now...So thanks for showing your true colors in your response.. By the way, my dialog with the former owner (Nathan) highlighted all the shortcomings of his maintenance team/company.... And obvious from your response -- seems like you fit right in. Rude and disrespectful and no ownership (literally). How about at least 5 different guys in 10 months -- in some cases 2 guys came just to "hang out". This is not my first rodeo - so I know more about Salt Water tanks than you think -- just easier to have "qualified" folks maintain but I've learned my lesson - thanks Kevin. And I have been maintaining my tank since. They did not appear to be trained in the details of salt water tanks -- rather just water change outs and very minor stuff. I know YOU live in a world where facts don't matter but they do in my world -- so my goal is to set the record straight for other consumers. BUYERS BEWARE!. Good Day Kevin.

Of the 6 different coral stores in the area, this, while not the most packed with "stuff," provided the best customer service and advice. The owner is currently rebuilding and stocking the store, but it is a pleasure to work with and had corals and supplies I was looking for. I would recommend anyone to come in and give this store a good look around.

Experiencia negativa: I do not write reviews often. I hope that it’s just because they are renovating the store. The owner wasn’t there and the employee working there was nice enough but when I asked for pricing for coral he didn’t know and had to call the owner. When the owner answered he was rude over the phone when I was trying to explain which coral I wanted to know the prices of. The coral was also extremely overpriced most overpriced coral in the area and I’ve been to almost every store in the area in a 50 mile radius. Terrible selection as well. I had to get dry goods while I was there but the owner made me so mad over the phone that I did not want to spend a dime there. Not to mention there’s no pricing on corals and you really should not have to ask the employee working there to call the owner for pricing. So unorganized and the tanks were dirty and the fish did not look healthy. I would absolutely not spend a minute of your time or a dime at this store. Update: As you can see the owner still can not apologize fully for his rudeness. I have worked in many customer service industries and when a customer complains you apologize not apologize and criticize the customer some more. Your “apology” just showed how very unprofessional you are as a business owner. I apologize I am not a zoa knowing expert and know the names of all the zoas it looked kinda like utter chaos to me and if your store was more organized it would’ve been very easy. Also if you do a quick google search you can find ny knicks torches online for a the same price with 2-3 heads that was a one head coral. The only torch in your store may I add. Maybe if you just said I’m so sorry for your experience instead of further criticizing your customers I would’ve change my rating but now I can just add to it thank you. Also I’m glad you do your due diligence with your quarantine but your tanks looked dirty in my opinion. Never would’ve written a review in the first place if you weren’t so unbelievably rude and unprofessional. I probably would’ve bought some zoas and some dry goods as well.

Experiencia fantástica: I don't get my tank serviced by any store so I can't say anything about that side of the business but the store itself has been improving since it opened. The prices on coral especially are extremely reasonable and so far I haven't come across any problems from live stock gotten from them (my clown had a few parasites but he is getting better). Any one in the area who needs live stock should check out their selection it may be limited but they are healthy.

Experiencia positiva: Small little aquatic store. Came to look for some fish to buy for home but found they had mostly a saltwater selection. They do have some shrimp, hermit crabs, and exotic fish but the selection is limited.

Experiencia fantástica: So I don’t normally leave reviews but this place was a refreshing experience. This little family owned store made the effort to make us feel loved and welcomed. Not only was the service outstanding, from both the manager (Britton) and the worker (Trent), but they have gone above and beyond to answer all questions and give us direction since we are new to the hobby. (Currently keeping fresh water fish). I have loved how kind they are to my whole family (I have 4 littles) and how willing they are to help me out with all aspects of my fish keeping. When I need to save money they give me advice on how to accomplish this and are willing to give me knowledge to make well informed decisions. We have bought fish from several large chains and box stores and they have all sadly died. Every fish we have purchased from here has thrived and is so different in their demeanor. They will come to the front of the glass and let us handle them at feeding time. I will definitely make the drive here from Tampa for all my fish keeping needs!

Experiencia fantástica: I went in here to get some estimates on setting up a pre owned tank and the owners son actually came to my house and after getting pricing back to me I actually decided to buy a pre owned tank. Once I decided on this pre owned setup they met me at my house and spent nearly 7 hours setting it up properly and making sure there were no leaks and that I was happy. They have been great to deal with and communication is excellent and timely. They have been great at advising what chemicals I needed to keep my tank healthy and also what foods to use. Pricing is great and all the staff are pleasant. They are now my go to fish store in the area .

Prices are a little bit high compared to other reef supply stores, but this could be because of the rent at the location. I am not sure if I will continue to shop here as paying a dollar or five dollars extra can add up over time, but I will support this lfs from time to time as we need a premium spot for reefers like WWC or Living Reef Orlando in Tampa. I'm a bit surprised we don't have something as nice as that here, who knows maybe one day Aquatic Underworld can be the first for us here in the bay area.

Always open to answering questions. They are my go to place for RODI and they mix your salt water to order and offer three types to choose from . I get their reef water and my tank always looks amazing and my coral are growing like crazy

Experiencia fantástica: The world needs more people like these guys. If you are looking for fish supplies, tanks, fish or have questions you have found your guys. I had a nearly impossible fish rescue project and they came and put together a 250 gallon salt water tank with live rock sharks, groupers, tangs a eel and all sorts of fish. If it wasn’t for them all these fish more likely would of died. They are very knowledgeable nice funny and just great guys. They have the best prices on everything and a great store with fish everywhere.

Experiencia positiva: I am giving this place a regrettable 3/5. I have my reasons outlined below. This place is difficult to find but I will let this one slide. I felt that while I felt a vibe of professionalism, it was a little too polished for a little store. Almost like this is an affiliate of a bigger establishment (ie bestbuy mobile kiosk). They had a selection of fish and a couple of fish tanks, some corals and even a couple of tanks with freshwater fish. One area I felt took away from the benefit of the store is tremendous overstock of about 17 billion small bottles of chemicals occupying extremely valuable shelf space. I was surprised to see mag drive pumps... a rarity in the aquarium store industry.. to actually have decent brand product stocked. And that is where it sort of goes sideways for me. I feel that there is no specific need to take 20 feet of shelves and dedicate 15 feet of it to bottles. This is not a shampoo isle at walmart. I sincerely wish that they boxed all that stuff up, only left a few samples, kept overstock behind the counter or in the back of the store. Space that could be freed up could be used for freshwater fish or things like bulkheads, strainers, plumbing parts and supplies, heck even drilled fish tanks. Unfortunately for them they will have a lot of competition on the freshwater front. Walmart behind, Petsmart in front, pet supermarket a little ways a way. I just hope they can root themselves and become "that store" that everyone goes to anyways, maybe in due time even sell more things mentioned above. Best of luck to the business. One thing they have going for them is they are on same plaza as harbor freight tools where I go a lot. I can see myself visiting them when I go.
