Ronneil was excellent with communication from the jump, showed up on time, and his entire crew was professional throughout the process. I was super impressed with how quickly they were in and out. They made no mess, were careful with my livestock in the tanks, and packed everything up cautiously for the move. I have worked with Ronneil and his company for years and they never disappoint. Experiencia fantástica: I got in contact with ronneil on pretty short notice to move a very large tank. He gave me multiple options and worked with me to get me a great price to move the tank. We got it loaded at the pickup spot and very quickly dropped off at my apt. The entire time ronneil kept it super professional but also treated me like a friend and joked around the whole time like we've known each other for years. Haven't got to check out the store yet but gonna go by and check it out. Sea hare is awesome especially for aquarium moves!

Experiencia negativa: Called on a Sunday morning to inquire if the store had any Pygmy corydoras or neon tetras in stock. The young man who answered the phone was unsure if they had any corys but assured me they had lots of neon tetras. I drove 35 minutes one way only to find that the store had no neon tetras. The clerk had identified GloFish Tetras to me when I asked where the neon tetras were; these are not the same species at all. The store was neat, fish were well-kept, but selection of both freshwater and saltwater fish were limited. Good range of aquariums and supplies, but prices were not generally posted on livestock.

Experiencia fantástica: BLOWN AWAY BY THE AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE, EDUCATION & PRODUCT QUALITY!!! I have three fish tanks (started with one until I visited SEA HARE AQUATICS LOL) and I am neither an expert nor an absolute novice as it pertains to tank maintenance. In the past, whenever I have visited other pet stores or other aquatic shops, I always encounter a CSR or store attendant who talks to me as if I am ignorant to all things "fish and water" and proceed to TELL me what I want versus answering my questions. It almost borders on rude and dismissive. This was not my experience at Sea Hare Aquatics. From the moment I walked through the door, I felt welcomed and respected as an active participant in the process. The owners and their team were absolutely amazing and should offer a master class! Thank you Sea Hare Aquatics for handling me so professionally, answering all of my questions, and being honest about what I needed and did not need to preserve the quality of my tanks. I will NEVER shop any place else.

Experiencia fantástica: I had a wonderful first experience with Sea Hare Aquatics this morning. The owner, Ronneil Harewood, came out to clean my 60 gallon, badly neglected, fish tank. Ronneil is a fount of knowledge about fish and so much else! He is service oriented, friendly, efficient, and helpful. Ronneil's wife is so friendly and on top of things. (She schedules appointments.) I learned so much about fish and fish tanks from Ronneil. (This tank belonged to my late husband, so I'm not knowledgeable about fish.) I cannot recommend Sea Hare Aquatics more highly! Check them out!

Mr. Harewood helped me out from beginning to end; I’ve honestly never had better customer service from anywhere else. Upon walking in, it’s a clean shop, stream lined with modern technology and such a peaceful ambiance. Within a week’s time, we were able to buy a 94 gal with delivery, and setup, PLUS more. Mr. Harewood and Rob were able to take away my old tank and reinforce the old stand -including a paint touch up! The new tank was filled and ready to go within 3 hours! He’s very transparent and personable, AND he has picked such a friendly and knowledgeable team!! I’m excited to try aquascaping again because of the Sea Hare Team. All my future business will be directed here! 10/10 !!

Experiencia negativa: UPDATE: All the feedback provided below is 100% accurate. I just posted legitimate questions on the Facebook page for this shop and Ronneil just blocked me. That should tell you all you need to know about this fish shop. The recent positive reviews are from folks that state they are new to the hobby. Unfortunately they don't know better and trust Ronneil like we did a year ago. His answer for every tank problem is to dump chemical products like Dr. Tims into your tank even after he knows he sells API test kits that are easily proven unreliable with respect to nitrates. Ronneil may have expertise regarding freshwater fish. We didn't have a freshwater tank, so I can't speak to that. Ronneil's prices are outrageous compared to other fish shops in San Antonio. His saltwater knowledge is limited to say the least. My wife and I caught him in more than one lie where he said not to do something, and then he was doing the same thing with the fish in his shop. Our best example is feeding Anenomes. Ronneil said not to do that, and my wife went to his shop to pick up supplies one day and caught him feeding the Anenomes in his shop. Maybe you can work with Ronneil IF you have experience in this hobby. Otherwise, dealing with Sea Hare Aquatics is a guarantee for heartbreak if you care about your marine fish. Even in the face of direct evidence that the API test kits he sells are flawed, he still pitches those kits as reliable.

Experiencia fantástica: Went to sea hare to start a new hobby and what can I say but that I have been taught through Ronniel how to maintain and keep up to date my tank. He is very knowledgeable and has walked me through it every step of the way. I highly recommend visiting the shop and having talks with him if you want to start a tank or even just get info for your tank. He loves what he does and I see it so I know he will help you as he has helped me.

I went to a different fish store and got what I needed, but the next time I’m in need of supplies I’ll check this place out. ◡̈ I don’t want to leave a negative review just on this, but I drove 30 minutes across time just for this store because of its reviews only to find it is closed and locked, but the hours in the door say it should be open, as well as their very own website. I get it’s a possible holiday today, but the store should at least leave a sign on the door, if not update things online. I’m happy to change my review when I get the chance to visit again, but the next closest fish store is another 20+ minutes away so I’m pretty disappointed and a bit irritated.

Experiencia fantástica: I worked with Ron to temporarily move my established 170 gallon rimless display system to support some house work. He and his team were nothing but professional. He worked around the holiday and house contractors schedules. He also provided a quarantine system for my fish and corals. I'm happy to say that not only I didn't lose a single fish, but they are not showing signs of stress. Finally, the way he set up my hard scape made it look like I have about 20 lbs more live rock, have three more caves, and showcases my coral in a way that it looks like I have a whole new system! I'm thrilled that I went with Ron and offer my highest recommendation!

He also has a great quarantine period before he has you take your fish home. His tanks are always clean! He has an incredible water system that he will explain his filtration to you when it comes to both his R.O and Salt water. You can always count on his water being as good as it goes when you take it home for your aquarium! I strongly recommend Sea Hare to anyone in San Antonio and it's surrounding area.

Experiencia fantástica: Omg they did a lovely job on my tank. The water was brown from the tannin of an improper log from another pet store. They got the tannin out cleaned my canister and the glass and made sure my eco system was thriving. I never knew anything about this hobby I started it for therapy and the stuff I learn from the owner and his staff is unmatched by any other Aquatic Pet store. I wished I could share the pictures of what they have done in mater of 2 months of my tank. And before I put anything in my system they explain the purpose of the chemical or plant or fish before I introduce anything.

Experiencia fantástica: Went in on Thursday with some fish I could no longer own because of apartment complex rules, called and talk to Ronneil and he gladly took in the handful of fish I reluctantly had to re-home. I asked if he had 20 gallon tanks for a reptile of mine, Sunday he called me and told me he had a tank and I was more than welcome to it. He was so friendly and so passionate about the fish hobby. Helped me to the car with my tank and talked about his passion for fish and the hobby keeping. As someone who has owned tanks for years and had to go through main stream stores and had so much trial and error because of misinformation, if I'm ever able to have a tank again I'll definitely come back to him to help me properly stock my tanks. I had no prior experience with salt water tanks and they were able to guide me in the right driection and I was able to move the fish and coral from one city to another with no casualties! After the big move I made a mistake and added too much freshwater to the salt water (fish not in yet at this point) and I went back to the store in a mild panic and Christa was able to put out the fire I created, and got my salintiy level to safe again. They even stayed opened late for me. She checked on me throughout the week! Experiencia fantástica: We had a quick decision move with an established 55gal reef setup and were looking to upgrade. Ronneil stepped up to the plate brought the full force of his team and got our existing setup torn down and cleaned up, housed our coral, live rock, sand, and fish at his shop and got a special order 200gal setup (and all the various lights and pumps and controllers) working around our moving schedule (3 days notice before pack out) and the new tank up and cycling in 10 days. Do talk in the shop, everyone is knowledgeable and helpful, and this is concierge fish store experience where you have people out to help you plan your space or work with your tank, not a box store level "we'll help you load your car". If you don't see it, ask, they will get it in (fish/equipment/coral, you name it), and reserve it in your name (at prices competitive with the dice rolling of on line live fish shipment.)

This place has very neat aquariums and the lights in each of them are very cool. He also allowed them to feed the fish. I will recommend to visit this place, very cool.

I was asked right away if I needed any help or was looking for anything in specific, unlike other places where the first thing you hear is “have you made a selection yet”. Not here, nothing but great vibes and energy. I left with 2 beautiful corals and even more knowledge about the hobby for a incredible price. This will be my new go 2 for my saltwater needs no doubt! Experiencia fantástica: We purchased a home that had a very large built in aquarium about a year ago. We decided it would be enjoyed more by another family and decided to gift it to a family from our church. We were extremely thankful when the new owners decided to work with Ronneil from Sea Hare in moving the tank. Ronneil was extremely professional and thoughtful about the move and ensuring the fish and aquarium would be safely transferred and set up for success in their new home. While we are no longer fish owners, I really can’t say enough positive things about Ronneil and Sea Hare. Highly recommend.

Experiencia fantástica: I don't often take time out of my already busy day to write reviews but in this case I had to let everyone know how great my experience was and has continued to be. The owner took his time with me at the shop by providing knowledge and advice on where to go with my new saltwater setup. It's been many many years since I tried to go saltwater and I left there feeling comfortable about where I was going. He has also been continuing to provide support by answering questions about issues I've been having trying to establish the ecosystem. Would highly recommend and I'll continue to drive out here for future assistance and purchases.

Experiencia fantástica: Stopped in today while my child was getting braces next-door. The gentleman who runs the place is clearly very passionate about the hobby and was very welcoming. Looks like they’re still ramping up stock-wise. Prices appeared reasonable. Good to have a LFS close by. Hope they do well.

Experiencia fantástica: Super friendly staff who are excited to help you make an educated decision when it comes to your aquatic needs. They told me all about the different fish and the history of them. They also have really cute merchandise like water bottles and keychains if you aren’t ready to decide on fresh water or salt water tank. They also made the experience of their store super engaging with raffles to win a tank and involving customer’s in the decision for what kind of fish they should display in the center tank. ( jellyfish please) All in all a fun time for all ages.

Experiencia fantástica: a very welcome addition to the LFS' here in SA. Selection is growing and there is a focus on affordability. Having a place that will actually have a variety of CUC is going to do wonders for the tanks of the area. Got to chat with the owner for a while and he is knowledgeable while staying humble, and has a great attitude and great plans going forward. Ronniel has some great ideas that are going to make this place really stand out, as well as some cool plans for community involvement/education. I look forward to seeing it grow. Awesome tank set up, check out the "plug in" transfer cups. Love that he's made a showcase out of his water polishing setup, and a clean and comforting design aesthetic throughout. Great bathroom for those who have a not so enthusiastic spouse. This place is gonna be a great little gem, and will add a lot of value to the local community of reefers.
