The prices here for fish, corals, and equipment are actually priced pretty well that’s why they are my go to place for anything I need for my tank. Plus Brandon does a biweekly maintenance on my tank and honestly that helps me out a lot. Makes sure everything goes right and if you have any issues he handles it for you. Got my tank running great.

Last time they had a stingray and seahorses! There's just a lot of stuff you don't see at other pet stores, and the staff are always super friendly and knowledgeable.

Experiencia positiva: Was kind of stunned to see “Donated clown fish” being sold for $50(nothing special or large by any means), and then their regular stock of clowns only $19.99, pretty much the same size. I could not for the life of me wrap my head around why they would want $50 for a fish that was given to them, (there were several of these by the way, even one pair labled “donated pair $100”) but want 250% less money for fish they purchased for stock. I mean, if someone gave you the fish, why not offer it at a discounted price to someone new to the hobby, instead of trying to sell something that’s worth $19.99 for $50?? So weird. I hate capitalism

Experiencia negativa: Sold me a protein skimmer they said would fit in my tank. 2 trips worth 50 in gas to seek correction, one nasty electric shock (from mains voltage after setting it up the way they told me and I can honestly say I am disgusted. I almost died (no kidding and verified the skimmer was ridiculous) I will never set foot in the shop again and will cut my losses at 90 dollars based on poor recommendations. Avoid at all costs. (OH and by the way, electrical based tech for 20 years, this was not on me.)

Experiencia positiva: Happened to be in Columbus and thought we would swing by on our way home. The store was clean, and there were some nice coral and fish options (everything looked healthy too, which was great). But the downside was there seemed to be a few workers, but not one of them came over to see if we needed help finding anything. We did have our twins with us, but they're well-behaved, so I'm not sure why they kept a distance. The bummer is I did like some of the fish and probably would have bought one if they would have asked, but I don't go out of my way to buy where I'm not being helped. Again, the stock looked good, but the lack of attention is what lost the sale for us. We probably won't go back.

Experiencia fantástica: Nice little shop tucked away in a tiny suite on Lincoln Circle. I was delighted to see a very comprehensive selection of everything one might need for reef keeping, including cured wet live rock and RODI systems. I thought prices were very fair, even for a brick and mortar shop in the middle of Gahanna. Helpful and friendly employees, eager to provide advice if asked. It's a long drive from my house in Mount Vernon, but I will gladly make the trip again. The 2 fish that I bought acclimated well and are healthy and thriving, already eating!

Experiencia fantástica: This is a very nice place. It's nice and clean and the staff is really kind. I got some clean up crew and a clownfish. I do have to pick on the fact that a copperband butterfly fish had white spot and was housed with a ton of clownfish. Also there was a few dead fish. But to be honest I loved my visit there and will be coming back. Edit: I got another clownfish and he was super healthy. Like last time staff was extremely kind and informative. This is most possibly the best saltwater aquarium shop there is.

They have the best selection of higher end aquarium products that normally i would have to purchase online. The livestock they offer is top-notch as well and great prices. I will continue to try to get as much as possible from Matt's because I feel it's a critical resource for the hobby to have a great local business that succeeds.

He has tons of frags, a nice variety of fish, pre-treated salt water to sell (so bring your buckets), and supplies. He very often has more rare coal fragments, clams and fish.

I bought the most gorgeous Male African Midas Blenny that's healthy and already eating. Prices were about the same elsewhere so within the normal hobby pricing. Will be going back when I'm in the Columbus Ohio area again.

Experiencia negativa: I purchased a bashsea skimmer and it came in defective and damaged. I was never able to use it because of these defects caused by poor craftsmanship. the build quality was absolutely horrible. I was told by bashsea he was not willing to replace the skimmer so I got stuck with it. its sad when you spend over 800 dollars on something that doesn't work. I would stay away from bashsea products.

Experiencia positiva: They helped me do a no contact order of livestock. Got my live rock from here for a fair price and the staff has been very helpful getting me started in my first saltwater aquarium. Edit: I started my saltwater aquarium using solely the RO saltwater from Matt's. I was fighting Algae my entire first year. After buying an RODI system all my algae problems have gone away. I really do like this store and the employees but the water that is sold to customers needs to be maintained better. I once walked in the store and asked them to test their water for me. I was told I would need to wait 10 minutes while they "refreshed" it before testing. This was the only time I was ever told they needed me to wait before getting saltwater. This didn't happen the 25 other times I went in to buy 15 gallons of water.

That being said, please visit the shop, the corals they have are GORGEOUS. They are worth a pretty penny, but you're definitely paying for quality pieces; no other storefront in the area comes close to it.

Experiencia negativa: I scheduled service with this company back in May of this year. They committed to helping us move our 90 gallon fish tank this month, September 21st. I confirmed with Matt on August 30th and was assured they had us covered. On September 16th I received an email saying they lost an employee and wouldn’t be able to move our tank. My Husband called Matt on September 17th to let him know we would assist the company with moving but needed their professional assistance. However, Matt was unwilling and unable to help us. This has left us in a horrible situation as other companies need advance notice for a job this large. If I could give Matt’s Corals & Service 0 stars I would. A unreliable and unprofessional company!!!!!

Experiencia positiva: Amazing coral selection! Store is super clean and set up very nice! The only down side is there are several sick and or dying fish in the sales tanks. Nature of the beast when selling fish and inverts directly from the supplier without a qt process first. Try to select a healthy animal and definitely quarantine it before introducing it into your tank at home.

Experiencia negativa: This is a terrible place to order online!!! First i received a damaged clam, it happens. . This was made up with 3 acros, 2 of which also died... I know what im doing and have over 350 acros and have never had this issue with anybody else out of over 100 orders.... The website has listings that aren't available and when brought to owners attention, who didn't bother to get back to me about it, a month later it's still for sale.... i called the store and the item was in fact sold over a month ago but still being offered.... Hopefully this shop is better in person but beware of ordering online!!!
