Experiencia fantástica: Very small, and very cute. The boardwalk trail takes you through the wetlands—it’s maybe 15 minutes, a nice easy walk. The glass bottom boats were a ton of fun and well-worth the experience. Probably not necessary to do the extended version. Nice little aquarium. Plan to spend a few hours here—it’s charming, but not an all-day event.

Experiencia negativa: drove here an hour away from San Antonio just to get into the last glass boat at 5 but they didn’t even pickup the phone or anything. But when we got there wasn’t a boat tour even though their website mentioned one at 5. Complete waste of time.

Experiencia fantástica: What a cool place! The glass-bottomed boat tour was the highlight. Our guide Connor was knowledgeable and engaging, we got to see lots of the animal and plant life as well as the springs feeding the lake. It was hot but the boats are fully covered so no baking in the sun! The trails around the lake and indoor aquarium were both the best kind of hands-on fun science for us and our children. Easy parking, clean bathrooms and lots of picnic areas!

Experiencia fantástica: Tagged along on a school field trip with my grandson and this place was fabulous! The guided glass bottom boat ride was my favorite, and the guides were so knowledgeable about conservation. The grounds were clean and beautifully kept, and the children were entertained with a variety of activities, which taught them more about conservation.

Experiencia fantástica: The property is well maintained with friendly employees. It encompasses the seven water spouts from the underground limestone water springs that created the San Marcos River. The walking paths have information spots to read and learn about the wildlife and plant life from the area. There is also a fourth story open-air lookout on top of the administration building, which also houses a small museum and aquarium. The TX State University uses this lake for the students enrolled in SCUBA class offered as part of their sports and physical education curriculum. That sounds like an awesome class!

Experiencia positiva: Nice place but... $12 per adult and $8 per kid for 25 min small boat tour, This is a 1 time place for me. Plus there are not special fish species. I hope the owner reads this. The tour guide tells you stories of “we saw bob cat, we saw deers” but the only thing you see classic river fish. lol.

Experiencia fantástica: Amazing and very relaxing place. Definitely worth exploring. The boat ride is $12 per person.

Experiencia negativa: We just did this tour. The water wasn't as clear as it looked in those pics. Our lady tour guide Michael, she was like in a hurry to dump us back, it wouldn't wait long enough to take good pictures, not even half way of the lake, we were already going back. Even if it's only $12 per person, it wasn't worth that much. Hope they clean the lake soon. The star goes to the turtles.

Experiencia fantástica: Plenty of parking and awesome boat tour for $12 per adult entrance. They run tours every half hour and there was no wait. The guide was very informative and really beautiful nature can be observed from the boat as well as through glass boat floor. The water is crystal clear and blue on some areas, there is also scuba divers courses there. There is a small aquarium that can be visited for free afterwards on the property. The 3rd floor has a beautiful view of the entire lake.

Experiencia fantástica: Went on the bottomless boat early Saturday morning with just my wife and 2 kids. Was a blast my 3 year old loved it and my 1 year old stared at the glass bottom longer than I thought. Your guide was awesome giving interesting facts along the way and showed all of the most interesting parts of the lake. Highly recommend!

Experiencia fantástica: This is a beautiful little spot. The spring is crystal clear. Lots of wildlife. There is a short walking trail and small discovery center with a handful of exhibits.

Experiencia negativa: I was really disappointed that I was turned away at 3:30 after driving a hour from our resort. We even called 1:30 and was told the last boat was at 4 but they where closed when we arrived.

Experiencia fantástica: Went on the 2-hr snorkeling tour. Note that the start and end time will depend on your group's prior snorkeling experience. I loved it; the visibility was incredible, and even though we were limited by where we could snorkel (fed protection), there were plenty of fish and turtles to see. Also: (1) If you bring anything extra that is permissible into the water (gopro, water shoes, etc.), the staff will need to dunk it for 20 min in chlorine. (2) Wear your shoes until you reach the shore where you enter the water, b/c the ants are MEAN. They're not likely to be taken, but if you want to be cautious just bring cheap ones that keep you far away from those monsters!

Experiencia fantástica: Very beautiful natural environment. It was great to tour the lake with a very good guide and also a boat captain. The bottom of the water in feet of depth is so clear in some places that you lose your sense of depth. When we respect and protect the environment, we can experience many beauties.

Experiencia positiva: Overall, it was a disappointing ride over the one I took 5 or 6 years ago. This trip, the drought had a negative effect on the springs feeding Spring Lake so they weren't visible from the boat. Also, on my first trip, we toured a part of the lake that was covered with with lilypads. On them sat many frogs and turtles and it was just a lot of fun to watch their activities. Today as we exited the park, I saw the lilypads section. Sad that it isn't featured any longer.

Experiencia positiva: I went when the park was alive. I was a little girl. I have postcards that were sold at the hotel were we stayed. Ralph the swimming pig. It was Soo much fun. I Loved the glass boats. I haven't been back since:( would of loved to show my boys. Soo much fun know it's a research cent. They really haven't took care of it. Memories.

Experiencia fantástica: The glass bottom boats are always a fun adventure if you have children. And worth a ride one time if you are an adult. There is also a learning area inside the main building for children. The rooftop is often used for wedding receptions, family reunions, or large parties. The surrounding natural area is great for photography if you are doing portrait shots. I have done several photo shoots here and enjoyed it every time.

Experiencia negativa: We saw very few creatures, little of interest, and the young lady driving the boat spoke without a microphone and so softly, we couldn’t hear her. Waste of money. Pretty location.

Experiencia positiva: The Meadows Center is a great place to visit with many opportunities. The facilities can sometimes be over loved and it's been a while since the school has reinvested much of the proceeds, but it's definitely worth some time. Great viewing of the outdoors, birding, etc. The glass bottom boats are always cool when folks visit (and they are open). The Nature Center is of some interest to small kids. And, almost every weekend the local dive shops use the springs for their open water certifications. Overall an enjoyable visit.

Experiencia fantástica: The Meadows Center (Aquarena Springs) was enjoyed by our church children's group. All the kids ages 3-12 found ithe glass bottom boats interesting and had a really good time. The boat tours are about 30 minutes and there is a short trail around the edge of the lake.

Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful outdoor space! Dog friendly except on the peer area and the glass bottom boats. Unbelievable amount of wildlife. We spent over an hour just spotting creatures in the water. Total cost was $3 to park the car.

Experiencia fantástica: Finally became certified to bring students to Spring lake to get certified. Just got back from our first weekend and it was perfect. What a privilege to be able to train in 70 degree, crystal clear water in the Winter. Worth the drive and ever penny you spend to get to San Marcos. It’s also professionally run, clean, organized, convenient, historical, on and on!

The glass-bottom boat tour is spectacular with excellent historical and natural education, all while looking down on clear spring water, fishes and the springs bubbling up below. It’s an up-close personal experience with the natural beauty of Spring Lake. And all this just moments off I-35, in the heart of San Marcos and Texas State University.

Loved the extended boat tour which gives more time to look underwater and learn about the importance of conservation. The walking wetlands tour was also fun. It is definitely worth paying a visit.

Experiencia negativa: I am a vendor at this pow wow and have been for 7 years. The first 3 years were great. In the past few it has been terrible and this year was the worst! We were set up near the portable restrooms and all day long that's all myself and my customers can smell. Some did not realize it and some did and walked out of my booth. I know this will continue if something is not done it will be my last time!!
