Experiencia fantástica: I love this exhibit at the zoo. The penguins are adorable and fascinating to watch. On my most recent visit the volunteer docent was so lovely. She was very friendly and knowledgeable and really enriched our experience. Don't miss this exhibit next time you're at the zoo.

Experiencia fantástica: 2 hours of behind the scenes interactions, well informed and friendly staff, from our zookeeper to our liaison official guide, who took hundreds of photos for me. 5 Star experience for us and hopefully the penguins. Cleanest environment, very practical and bird health conscious safety efforts. Don't miss watching the Chin-straps with Zoomies or relaxed bubble time. Can't say enough good things about the Detroit zoo, thank you Shelly!

Experiencia fantástica: I love the Detroit Zoo, most especially the Penguin exhibit! They are always so active, and the tunnel is AMAZING! Penguins swimming over your head, what could be more magical. It's best to go in the morning before it gets too crowded.

Experiencia fantástica: Polk Penguin Conservation Center is truly awesome. You walk through tunnels under the water and can view penguins swimming above and next to you. You can watch the penguins being fed. It's a fun time!!!

Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely loved it. Super fun exhibit to watch the penguins walk, waddle, swim, play, and eat. Try to plan your visit when they are feeding the penguins. Its educational and comedic at the same time! The Zoo staff come out with their buckets of fish to feed these hungry birds. Like a human family, there are the greedy ones, and those who may not be as hungry.

Experiencia fantástica: The exhibit contains two walk through water tubes as well as a 15ft plexi wall that holds a floor to ceiling view, underwater, of the penguins. You can't miss this!

Experiencia fantástica: This is the best part of the Detroit zoo. A peak into the underwater and above world of the penguins. There's little areas for kids to crawl in and get a better look at the penguins. Also, numerous facts adorn the walls. Make sure to leave plenty of time to check this place out, or hit it first, as it is near the front of the zoo.

From the ramped descent to beneath the tanks, the walls are lit up with glorious imagery down to an educational photo display before venturing off to witness the penguins and others' enjoyment of them. BRAVO! Quite the very lovely addition to a beloved zoo.
