Experiencia fantástica: Doc was a great help with pond problems I was having. He went above and beyond to find the right fittings for my up filter. He also has answers to almost all of my questions.

Experiencia negativa: Bought 10 rummy nose tetras all but 1 died. The harlequins and German rams are fine. Checked the water parameters before and after 0-0-5 after was 0-0-10 my shrimp ate most of what was left. When I explained I asked if they could do a discount on my next purchase of new rummy nose I said I would bring in a water sample. I’m not new to fish keeping by any means. I was told that I could use my loyalty points. Well guess who won’t be accumulating any more loyalty points. Obviously they don’t deserve my loyalty.

Experiencia positiva: Well stocked and on both visits the staff was very friendly. They are a little more expensive than the chain pet stores but with that comes healthier and better kept fish and other animals. All the fish and shrimp I have gotten from them for my aquariums have been healthy and active. This place is definitely worth at least checking out.

Plus, other animals and supplies you would need. I try to stop at least once a month to check out what they have. I've bought parakeets and numerous fish, among other supplies. Great store. Friendly and helpful staff.

Experiencia fantástica: I went there to see what they had and I was amazed. I do not live in the area but was visiting family and I decided to look up aquarium stores in the area. They had an amazing variety of fish with some that I haven’t seen in my local fish stores back south and they had everything you would possibly need or want for an aquariums including sumps, pumps, decor, wood, stone, and every kind of filter you can think of. If I thought the fish could survive a 12 hour drive back home, I would’ve definitely bought quite a few of them back with me. The gentleman I talked to seemed extremely knowledgeable and every employee I spoke to was friendly. Always support your local businesses!

Experiencia positiva: The selection is great but the staff are very hit and miss honestly... :/ My testing kits were expired. Called today and asked if they had GH and KH liquid testing kits. They did not but that's not the part that irked me. The man on the phone questioned why I needed them then proceeded to tell me that the aquarium I'm starting (which is for shrimp (which are very sensitive to these parameters) and uses distilled water (ie has no nutrients in it and needs minerals and nutrients re-added at appropriate dosages)) doesn't need tested for these parameters and that "testing PH should be fine enough". This goes against common knowledge in every fishkeeping circle I'm associated with. Downright dangerous advice that would have killed my stock if I were a novice. Last time I drove an hour and half to get to this store for two specific ranchus the staff were also very unwelcoming. When I said my tank was 35 gallons with enough bio filtration and live plants to accommodate 75 gallons the employee helping me said "Yeah well we don't really like to sell goldfish for tanks under 20 gallons so... do you still want them or...?" It was bizarre, like he didn't even hear me. Asked for PhosGuard and was patronized me for "listening to Reddit". He picked my goldfish food out for me and took it to the front without me ever even looking at the label and deciding for myself if that was what I wanted for my fish. The goldfish are doing spectacularly in their 35 gallon despite this bad experience. My caridina shrimp are getting their essential GH and KH kits on Saturday despite the store's attempt to dissuade me. I've bought hundreds in tanks and chemicals and stock here since I discovered the location. I want to go to this store as it's the best selection of fish and supplies in a three hour drive but being treated poorly recently has lead me online to fill my needs instead.

Experiencia fantástica: Been coming here a while and recently bought a male platy and plants for my parents aquarium. Fish is doing great along with other fish previously bought here. In the video is the new blue platy and the grandchildren of previously had platys from wet pets and friends!

Experiencia positiva: I really want to give this place 5 stars because some of the employees are great! If it wasn’t for Doc and a few other employees I wouldn’t spend my money here to be honest. Prices are a little high and the owners treat their customers like they’re stupidl. Very condescending attitude. Not something I want to deal with when I’m there to spend money on live plants and I just happened to sit a Java Fern down wrong in the water and the owner goes ape shit over it. Which the reason I put it back was the $35 price tag for a Java Fern mat that was 3x2. I have two of these mats from Petco that I paid $14.99 for and they are doing great. I know $35 isn’t a fortune, but when you need multiple, it adds up quickly…. But thank you to the employees of this place. I've always gotten good advice for issues I was having with my tanks. I don’t have any pics of the shop to share, but here’s one of my tanks that have mostly plants from here. I’ll be searching for aquatic plants elsewhere for a bit.

Experiencia positiva: This is a very nice store, but the prices are way way out of line, my local store sells damselfish for 7.99 and they are 19.99, I find that more than double for the same fish is absurd. Other fish I looked are were very expensive, I have heard that they breed some of their own fish, if this is true then why the highest prices I've seen in the tri-state area.

Experiencia positiva: This store used to be good. A few weeks ago my wife purchased Neon Tetra's there. After two days all the fish in her tank died. There was definitely something wrong with those fish. We purchased fish there many times in the past. Occasionally one or two would die but it never affected the established fish like this time.

Tanks, stands, decorations, supplies, and foods of all types can be purchased. The store has been here for over 30 years. The sales staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly!

Experiencia negativa: I am very disappointed. They are not near me but I happen to be in that area. I bought two snails for my fish tank and they were dead within 24 hours. It's absolutely not my water and I'm not driving back out there to get a 75% refund.

Experiencia fantástica: Lots of pets! Wet Pets goes beyond the aquarium, but let’s start with that. There are so many aquariums that it is just a maze of delight to anyone who walks through. The colors, the fish…relaxing just to watch. You can find just about any fish including the most exotic ones you have ever seen. I have friends who have traveled from out of state to hit this location. Not only do they have fish, they also have many friends! When you enter the building you are greeted by some beautiful birds! Heading into one of the side rooms, you find hamsters, parakeets, bearded dragons and more! Cages and accessories are readily available for purchase as well! Stop in at 3695 Washington Rd in McMurray, PA. You will be amazed at this place!

Experiencia positiva: Has an absolutely incredible collection of fish ranging from saltwater to freshwater. Its collection is comparable to the Pittsburgh aquarium. All the staff was very knowledgeable and helped through the process of making a tank. They had hard to find food brands like Hikari and had many aquatic plants and rocks.They do sell birds and reptiles too, but I was disappointed in the care for the birds. The cages for some were not appropriately sized and the macaws and cockatoos out in show cages are not cared for as much as I would hope. Even though this place does not specialize in birds its a shame they are setting this standard for shoppers.

Experiencia fantástica: I came into this store as a complete beginner with an old canister filter that I acquired and very little knowledge on where to go from there. The employees there took time to look over my filter and teach me about it, all while giving me some honest and sincere pointers about its age and wear. Because of their knowledge and expertise, not only was I able to make educated and non-pressured purchases, I was also able to leave the store with so much more knowledge and confidence as I prepare to set up my first tank upgrade. I will certainly be returning in the future as I continue my hobbyist journey!

Wetpets’ ownership is great—they are family owned and have created an incredibly successful business based on solid knowledge and good interactions with customers. Very good customer service and good selection. Back in the day, they were the premier place for saltwater and reef aquaria. Now for the negative: if you own a reef tank, I’d be *very careful in selecting live rock or especially soft corals here. One coral I bought came on a piece of rock that was *infested with aptasia on the bottom. I should have known better but I listened to the employee’s advice. Aptasia are an invasive species of anemone. Very bad—they sting, reproduce, are nearly impossible to get rid of, and are harmful to corals and fish. Nearly wiped out my otherwise pristine reef tank! No store in good conscience should sell an item while knowing that such an infestation is present.

Everyone here is helpful and knowledgeable on what they do. Prices are fair. All their fish are well kept in their tanks and their displays are amazing. Also is one of the best places to get aquascaping supplies and hard scape as well as plants.

Worth mentioning, the prices there are comparable to chain pet stores but the quality FAR exceeds them.

Experiencia positiva: This place is awesome for fish, beautiful tanks and people who know plenty about them! My only concern is the other animals and their selling of enclosures that are way too small. First off, the macaw and the cockatoo just seem so sad. Their food and water bowls are at the bottom and they have gotten so disgusting inside, and I haven't seen any toys for these big birds either. The macaw even appeared to be plucking it's feathers out (I'm not a vet so I can't 100% confirm?), and I'm guessing that they don't get interaction outside of the weird glass enclosure which is way too small for these big birds. Another thing too is that they have dangerous things inside of the birds they are selling's enclosures.. like mirrors and those fuzzy hammock things which can cause major psychological damage for any bird, and not only that but they also sell these items too. Great fish keeping, but dangerous caring for the other animals in the store.

Experiencia negativa: Stopped in for the first time about 2 weeks ago and got 2 clown fish for our new saltwater tank. The store had a nice selection and good prices, but now I know why. Yesterday after work my husband found one of the fish dead and the other with Ich. The day before, they were fed and watched for awhile and looked completely normal. From what I’m reading online this seems to be a common issue with saltwater fish from Wet Pets. Now we have to quarantine this other fish and treat the tank, hoping we don’t have to scrap it all and start fresh. We also have a well established tank that is thriving. Needless to say I will stick with other Pittsburgh area stores from now on.

Experiencia fantástica: I went in to look at bearded dragons and ended up failing in love with a Guinea pig. I had to convince my partner it was the right choice. I keep calling to make sure the one I wanted was there I spoke to Jared he was super nice. I also spoke with Andrew, pat and brain all very nice and none ever seemed bothered by me asking questions and making sure the one I wanted was available till I could get back to the store to purchase her. I got her and Jared answered even more questions for me he is amazing!!! Once I got her home I was concerned how she was acting because I’ve never owned a Guinea pig so I called and pat helped me again super nice never seem annoyed everyone is amazing. I called yet again and asked for Jared he is so helpful! Thank you all for being so kind and helpful I appreciate it very much!

Experiencia fantástica: I love fish and aquarium specialty stores. For those of us in the south hills, it gets absolutely no better than Wet Pets. I stopped in to pick up some food for my Green Spotted Puffer and just like everytime that I'm in there, I'm amazed at the selection of fish and aquarium supplies available. I'm very particular about the quality of the products I buy for my fishy friend. I have no questions about the quality of products sold here. On top of that, the staff here are extremely knowledgeable about fish and fish care. My GSP is small now but when I move him to a bigger tank, I plan on planting live plants to help with the nitrogen cycle. The staff here were able to advise me on which plants would be able to survive in a brackish tank. One of the pictures I have included is a very, very large Puffer they have as a pet in the store who is a testament to how well they take care of their fish. The other is a Puffer I had never even heard of and was excited to see in person. TLDR: Lots of variety for both marine and freshwater enthusiasts, large selection of chemicals, tank dress up, food sources for both carnivorous and standard fish, and a friendly, knowledgeable, staff that will help you navigate and advise you on the right products for you whether you're a novice or an experienced fish owner.

All of the staff here are EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGEABLE, and some of the FRIENDLIEST people I've ever come across at a pet store! It's also the CLEANEST pet store I've been to! There's always people cleaning out the tanks, as well as cleaning the cages of all the land animals! You can TELL that ALL of the animals here are cared for and healthy! (Happy too!) I purchased SEVERAL plants here as well, and they are absolutely BEAUTIFUL and HEALTHY! They have BEST selection of ANYTHING aquatic, and I think that their prices are VERY REASONABLE! Way less than any local Pittsburgh pet stores! Again... Such a GREAT PLACE to go, even just to look around. My 4yr old daughter actually asked to come here for her birthday! If you live far away like I do & are contemplating coming here, I can PROMISE YOU IT'S WORTH THE TRIP!! Love you Wet Pets!

Experiencia fantástica: I took my daughter to 2 different pet stores that I knew dealt in saltwater fish this weekend. My experiences contrasted greatly and Wet Pets was the best experience. The store was clean an organized. The fish tanks were well kept, the fish looked health and active, and the selection was diverse. Their saltwater display tank was fairly large, had several very large coral species and, again, was clean and well cared for. Several staff asked if we needed help; I politely declined and did not feel pestered. I do believe they will be my store of choice to stock my tank once established. I do wish they had a better selection of corals and saltwater accessories. They did not seem to carry any high-end reefing equipment (i.e. Ecotech Marine, Kessil, Triton, etc.) and protein skimmers but I did not ask. The had a good aquarium selection but all Aqueon brand. They had a good selection of frozen food at reasonable prices. Update 4/2022: not much has changed. Saltwater tanks have started to show more dinoflagellates and hair algae. Most of the saltwater fish selection is geared toward fish only tanks.

Other pets like Birds big and small and some furry like bunny and hamsters. Outside in warm weather there are pond fish and supplies. Sometimes brackish fish like green spot puffer. Large selection of hardscape like rocks and driftwood. Good for angel fish(some store bred)and discus. Friendly Knowledgeable staff very helpful if your having problems or have questions.

Experiencia negativa: This leopard gecko is priced now at $99.99 this snakes eye leopard gecko is beyond under weight for its age, it came from a bad breeder. To where the gecko has an under bite, deformities. A dropped tail that’ll never come in proper. And the best they could do was $75 ?? They don’t give their reptiles the proper diet nor do they get their reptiles from a good breeder. They put money above their reptiles, if I could give a negative review I would. They can’t even mist the gecko properly because it has stuck shed on its toes, it’ll most likely lose its toes due to shedding. They couldn’t care about the health, bad business. Even talked to Pat. Experiencia negativa: I went to this store to buy a cockatiel. The store itself is clean and laid out nicely. The birds seemed to be happy and cared for. The associate that “helped” us was quite rude. He had made several comments that were rude and uncalled for while we were there.He kept attempting to talk us out of buying a cockatiel and into buying a conure simply because that was his preference. He kept this up even after I said that I couldn’t afford a $1,000 bird, even if I did want one. Which is my second issue with this store. It is WAY over priced. The cockatiel was $369. Which is more than any of the other pet stores in the area.The cage that I purchased there was $74 and poorly made. We had to use zip ties to secure the bottom to the cage itself so it wouldn’t fall apart. Had I been able to find a cockatiel closer than 4 hours away I would have taken my business elsewhere. Hopefully nothing is wrong that isn’t immediately evident with the bird I purchased because they also don’t offer any type of guarantee on their birds.except a “visual” whatever that means. If I hadn’t been looking for a cockatiel as long as I had been I would have just left. That being said, I won’t go back.

Experiencia fantástica: My family and I love Wetpets! Often times we will go in just to fishwatch or visit the pond area. My daughter asks to visit Peaches (the Cockatoo) everytime we're in the area. We have a 20gal and 30gal freshwater tank and have used Wetpets to stock them, as well as maintain them. The staff is knowledgeable and always willing to help figure out what to put in your community tank.

So clean the tanks are crystal clear and store it self doesn't even have a animal smell I was so amazed. We will definitely be going back. This is thee best store I've ever been to. Experiencia fantástica: One of the best fish stores I have ever been too. If you're familiar with Elmer's in Monroeville, this store is in the same league. The staff were very friendly and they answered our many many questions we had and they never once acted like we were inconveniencing them. The fish selection is excellent, including a lot of varieties that are harder to find. The quality of fish are also excellent. All the tanks were immaculate and most of the fish looked really healthy. The prices were fair, especially considering the quality of the fish and the care that obviously goes into them. The only "downside" of the store is the aisles are a little bit narrow. Thankfully when I went there weren't many customers in the store so I could look around without any trouble but I can easily imagine how much fun it wouldn't be to browse when they're busy. Overall would recommend this fish store to anyone and I'll definitely be shopping there again.

Experiencia fantástica: Incredibly clean and we'll put together store. I stopped in at lunch and was completely surprised by how nice the store was. Display tanks were kept clean free of hard water spots. The filtration system is quiet. The staff were helpful and friendly. I was very impressed. Will be back.

Experiencia fantástica: This is an amazing place! Make sure you have at least a hour to look around because you won’t see tanks and fish like that anywhere else in Pennsylvania. They have a large pond area with koi, goldfish, water lilies, water lettuce and anything you would need for a pond. Every fish I bought survived due to the expertise of the staff. At no point did I feel rushed or pushed into buying something. I highly recommend these guys.

Experiencia fantástica: Bought fish for my saltwater tank and other items we’re extremely happy with there help. They are extremely knowledgeable and didn’t try to oversell me like other stores have. My clowns are doing better than any fish I’ve ever boughten for saltwater or fresh they may have been 10 dollars more than a competitor but worth every penny. This is now the only store I will ever go to for my aquarium needs even though it’s an hour and a half drive was well worth it!

Experiencia negativa: Traveled 2 hours to purchase a blue phantom pleco. Store employee picked fish up by his fin and held him above water over a minute to show him off. I felt that was wrong but he said it was perfectly okay. Had this $100 fish less then 48 hours. Told it has to be my water. No refund or exchange is allowed. I have an established tank, according to my research and two enthusiasts who have done this more then 50 yrs, touching the fish is the most likely cause considering everything water wise tests fine and all my other fish are perfectly healthy.

Experiencia fantástica: Beyond amazing staff. Very patient and knowledgeable. Answered every question and didn't upset. Listened to what we wanted and help get us the PERFECT tank setup. I'd give 10 stars. Prices are higher but you get what you pay for.
