Experiencia fantástica: I was really impressed by this pet store. I bought my first axolotl. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The pets in the store are well taken care of. There are a good variety of pets at good prices.

Experiencia fantástica: From what I saws mostly freshwater fish. Some cool and unique ones. Prices are decent. Lots of supplies. Bearded dragons and a few other reptiles available. The shop just got crowded quickly with only like 10 costumers in it. I’d be willing to visit again (trying to convince hubby to get a pufferfish in the future )

Experiencia negativa: Used to come here back when they were on bell Rd.. But recently visited and the smell of rat and mouse pee was so unbearable to even enjoy looking around the shop. I found my self constantly covering my nose. This cant be safe to breathe. Don please if you can't keep up with selling live food rats/mice then just stop. People can teach to feed frozen.. I have a extremely bad headache now. What can be done to take care of this issue?

While I have never bought a pet or terrarium gear here, they DO pretty much always have reptile feeders. I actually had to start coming here because the closer reptile stores pretty much never have frozen feeder rodents. So this place has kept my snakes fed for nearly a year at this point, for which I am appreciative

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I love this store! My father found it years ago And introduced it to us, knowing that we love our aquariums we’ve been going ever since! They have a great selection and really good prices. I’ve gone to different stores in the area and they definitely beat out most all prices of any other stores. They get a really great variety and a massive selection! Also, the owner is really nice and he was super easy to work with. We had bought a large filter for 125 gallon tank and we decided we wanted to get the larger one and he let us do a full exchange. The box was completely unopened so we just brought it back and he let us get the credit for that one and we paid the difference for the more expensive one! Thanks 1 million tropical treasures we will be back - We always come back!! (:

Experiencia fantástica: I visited this store after my son in law recommended I go there for some shrimp. It was a little messy but the people were very helpful and came to me quickly to see how they could help me. I did get some shrimp from them in three colors they have lots of variety of fish, snail, shrimp, really anything you need for your aquarium. I watched them help others that came in and they were able to get small parts for air filters that might be difficult you weren’t as versed or just starting out with an aquarium. I will go back there is a lot to see.

The employees are all super helpful, and the shop is open 7 days a week. This is our go-to fish store, and we've been to every fish store in Phoenix and surrounding areas.

The prices are the best in town, and they support and educate you all of the way through! They also have a huge selection of all pets, food, and accessories that you will need and get different things in all of the time. The reptiles are all alert, responsive, with healthy skin and eyes. The fish and aquatic species are also so gorgeous and well kept. I have purchased a betta fish, a snail and a few neocaridina shrimp and they're all healthy and happy! Edit added January 2025: This is the place to go for hardscape. Don is super fair about pricing and has a great selection of large cork rounds and flats as well as unique driftwood and grapevine.

Experiencia fantástica: What a cool little pet shop. Also, i am told they are about to have the best arachnid guy, and one of the best reptile guys in Maricopa county. I've tried to hire T for my operation many times. As well as my pet store opening in spring, but he won't move to southern Cal. To be honest I went into this shop to find flaws, because I know T wouldn't work in a sub-standard store. Don't know what I was thinking T would have caught them long before. Couldn't find any flaws, gave 5 stars.

Experiencia negativa: I thought this place would be my go to place for new fish. Was super stoked to see how well the tanks were clean and the staff is nice... Until all my guppies have died(all 20) 2 out of three Bettas have died, 3 out of 4 assassin Snails have died has well.the guppies as well as the Bettas gave both my tanks Ich, currently have one of my oldest Bettas trying to kamakazi herself because she has ich. I've done my masters test on my tanks multiple times to completely make sure everything is perfect. Wich it was. I have emailed them, never got a reply back nor a call to see what's going on. I called them and spoke to the lady up front about this she hung up on me. My first time there I have spent well over $200 . I've had tanks upon tanks for years. I know what I'm doing. I'm highly disappointed and dissatisfied with how they're handling this. Will be reporting to animal control/health department

Experiencia fantástica: I just drove a little over a hour to come to this shop and it was so worth it. I felt like I was stepping into my old petstore back home. Very cool place with some rare fish I haven't seen in ages and some I've never seen in person. This is the type of "mom and pop" fish store that unfortunately is disappearing. The owner and employees are so friendly and so nice and you can tell they still get excited about what they do. Please take the time to stop in, it was so refreshing seeing the fish and chatting with don.

Experiencia fantástica: I stopped in Tropical Treasures this afternoon to pickup some plants for an aquarium I'm putting together for a friend. They had more plants then the big name stores and definitely cheaper. The staff was patient and knowledgeable. The girl gave me some pretty good info on each plant I chose. Everyone was welcoming and glad I came in. Sounds corny but this shop reminds me of the shops that were around as a kid. Seems like now days your bothering someone to help you after searching to find help. Not here. If you visit two or three times I bet they will call you by name on your forth visit.

Every fish I’ve gotten here have lasted and are still alive especially my spotted highfin catfish. Ask for Beverly or Nate. They are super knowledgeable and helpful. We have been having water issues, so my wife gets some products and when she asked the lady behind a question her response was " don't you have Facebook? Go there and ask questions from people who have been having the same problem as you" very rude and dismissive of my wife and our daughters, won't go there again, having fish isn't cheap or easy but worth the smiles on my girls faces, we will find a friendly knowledgeable aquarium/pet store , this place isn't it.

Experiencia fantástica: Tropical Treasures has been a staple in our families life for many years. We started when my teenaged son turned 5 and got his first fish tank. The employees really held our hands walking us through the entire startup process. Lots of fish, a bearded dragon, a ball python and a second human child later, they are still answering our questions with just as much patience and knowledge. GREAT JOB TROPICAL TREASURES! YALL ROCK!

Experiencia negativa: This place is unbelievably dirty, you can smell the store from outside the building. Staff/Owner are rude, and assume you know nothing of fish and will talk down to you when you question anything about the store or the expired products on the shelf. Tanks are over crowded, many dead fish at the bottoms of tanks, males and females kept together for constant breeding of weak inbred genetics. I would not use anything from this store even if it was given to me for free. Save your money and most importantly save the lives of your fish and do not shop here. TLDR: This place is the gas station of fish stores, it's dirty, smelly, has rude employees, and you will leave frustrated and feeling scammed.

Experiencia negativa: Smelly and dirty... Fish purchased from here infected the rest of my fish and killed 90% of them. I should have quarantined the new fish, or just not purchased any from this store especially since their community tanks had tons of dead fish in them. Very unfortunate and sad for the fish.

Experiencia negativa: The staff wasn't really helpful.. the guy just kept telling me my 75 gallon tank "wasn't big enough". Because the fish would EVENTUALLY need a bigger tank. THESE WERE SMALL ablngel and silver dollars .. I mean SMALL.. there was PLEANTY of time to up grade tank. Instead of just saying NO you need a bigger tank, He should have at least tried to SELL A BIGGERR TANK. Not a good sales man

Experiencia negativa: If I could give no stars...Update, 11/9/2023. Today I am tearing down my small terrarium. You sold me pods with predatory hitchhikers that are attacking the babies. I am thankful I chose not to add the pods to my vivarium. It would've been ruined. 10/2023 Original review, Yesterday, I watched your store take back a pricey snake habitat with light accessories without packaging. $$$ My $12.00 cup of springtails you assumed I wanted a refund, cause they were alive yesterday. I woke up today with three alive. You refused me service. I'm disappointed in your lack of care and customer service. I was enjoying coming to your store as I built my Vivarium that I bought from your store.

Experiencia fantástica: 11/7/2023 stopped.in today , it was amazing to see a wonderful assortment of fish. The store had just gotten 25 boxes of fish from Florida wholesalers. It was great to find neons for $1.99, cardinals for 3.99 and all the other livestock well priced and affordable. The store actually has everything you need to set up and maintain an aquarium at reasonable prices ( unlike the two big box stores) Tropical Treasures harkens back to the era of true mom and pop stores, hobbyist centered, run by hobbyists for hobbyists.

Experiencia positiva: Loved visiting this store for the first time a few days ago. Everything was well priced, all the animals looked healthy, and staff were very eager to help and answer questions. I’m only giving four stars because the store did smell badly, it was very crowded with products, and the floors were full of water. There were a few animals I wanted to view but couldn’t because there was more stuff like empty tanks and shelves stacked in front. You couldn’t fit more than two people in an aisle. I also understand that water on the floor is to be expected when walking in a fish store, but it was excessive and nasty water. Looked like it hadn’t been cleaned all day. That being said, we will be visiting the store again, as the animals we bought from them were very healthy and happy and the products were good quality.

Experiencia fantástica: My buddy Travis kept telling me about this pet shop. When I saw how healthy Travis' Pac man frogs and Savannah monitor was. Not to mention some of the best looking tarantulas I've seen in the valley. I had to check it out. I was very impressed with the shop. Not the largest pet shop in the valley, but I believe it's the best for reptiles and arachnids. Probably fish too, I am just not a fish hobbyist. Not only great pets, but the prices are incredible 20-40% less than other shops. If you're not an expert this is a good shop too. They take the time to give you the info you need to be successful. I highly recommend this shop. .

Experiencia fantástica: This place was recommended to us through pets mart by an employee when we were inquiring care for our house gecko she adv the food for him would be cheaper at tropical and so we headed straight there and they had more and better food for Def less the price. What seemed to be the owner or store manager was very insightful and helpful he knew exactly what we needed and we plan on returning every month for our geckos food and any other needs! Loooove this place! Thank you so much!

Experiencia negativa: This business used to be a good place to buy fish supplies. Now the tanks are nasty and the whole store stinks so bad that you just want to leave and not shop here. I just bought 8 fish and only 3 survived. Never had so many die in one day. The guy who was short and chunky got the fish out of the tanks was not gentle by any means. I knew better I should've just said nevermind when I saw how aggressive he was getting them for me. There are many great fish stores around and this is NOT one of them. Go somewhere else. I won't be shopping here again.

I hope to share my experience with you to encourage you to adopt from this place. Also encourage the employees to keep up the outstanding customer service . Although there are several “ fish stores “ this one is by far my favorite. Really because the wonderful experience they provided for me . One day I called and asked if they had any surrenders available , let the lady know I had a 75 I wanted to adopt one fish for . She gave me a few suggestions , also let me know they had baby flower horns in. MIND YOU , I DIDNT EVEN ASK FOR THIS . Her suggestion completed my tank. I had been looking for flower horns all across the city , Ocean floor ( NONE) , Kona reef ( NONE ) & every fish store you can think of . Without her kindness and passion she has for her job I would have never thought to ask or look here . Most people don’t have good customer service and would answer yes or no . ( that’s the service I’m used to at places like this ) . SHE WAS SWEET and there her small suggestion gave me everything I ever wanted . This fish is not common in fish stores . I was extremely surprised to know they had my dream fish . Next morning right at 10 I walked in . I was greeted and asked if I needed some assistance . ( AGAIN , something I’m not used to ) . The gentleman who helped me , gave me some info about my fish , asked me which one I wanted & even tho I was indecisive he was very patient. After he directed me to which fish would would be best , snatched the 2 packs up and to the register I went . As many people might feel like 100$ for a fish is a lot , it is but it was a lot easier to spend with a great experience I had . I was pleased and very happy to spend that $ at this place . Experiencia positiva: When I first walked in the smell made my stomach turn. It smells like mildew as soon as the door opens. It's extremely cluttered and there are a lot of fish that look ill in the tanks. I only come here because my daughter chooses to come here to buy fish and aquarium tank plants because there is a wide variety. They carry reptiles, salt water fish, fresh water fish, turtles, frogs and a variety of tanks and substrate.
