Experiencia negativa: I feel like the price wasn’t worth the experience, it was cool to pet the sting rays and also all the animals were really cool but also had to pay an additional $10 for me and the kids i took to feed the animals which i feel should be included in the price. for $15 a person i think it should keep us entertained for at least 2 hours but after 30 minutes we already did everything. I feel the location for the blue zoo is also inconvenient and takes you out of the experience. I also feel the atmosphere was crowded and it was VERY hot in there. The guy who helped us though was very nice and explained everything very well. and meeting the birds were cool just wish it went on for longer

Experiencia negativa: This place is way too overpriced. First the air conditioning was out and one of the exhibits was closed and they were still charging full price. They had a bird exhibit area but you could only go in if someone opened it but there were no workers around. It only takes 10 minutes to go through, I’d pay maybe $10 to go here. $20 an adult is ridiculous. And then they respond to these reviews saying they “hope they can make your future experience better” no I won’t be back because charging people full price when not even all of the exhibits are open is a rip off.

Experiencia fantástica: My family and I had the best time at the Blue Zoo. The kids loved they are able to pet and feed the animals. Have to say our favorites are the rays and ray sharks. And I personally loved speaking with Scarlet. You'll have to visit to see whom I'm talking about. Miss Haley Green was such a help in answering our questions. And the other ladies where great in educating is about the animals. My grandbabies can't wait to go back!!!

Experiencia positiva: Think of this as a fish petting zoo. It is isn't what I would consider an aquarium. Its a for profit business, not a sanctuary for animals like a zoo or aquarium. It is small but there is enough content to keep your interest for an hour. The air conditioning wasn't working during our visit but the temperature inside was tolerable. This business pays for 5 star reviews in exchange for fish food tokens.

Experiencia positiva: Gotta say, my first trip here with my family was a little rough. The AC was out, it was hot as heck, the ipads were not working (because we were interested in annual passes), a water table was not working, and I think the staffing may have been low because there was one person working multiple exhibits where guests had to be supervised by employee. All that being said, my 16 month old had an amazing time. She loved feeding the fish, and liked getting splashed by the sting rays gliding by the sides of the big tank. The employees were friendly and doing the best they could. Had great attitudes, in my opinion, for having to work in that heat. The young lady who helped us at the front desk also did the sting ray show and she did it with the enthusiasm of a much bigger (and air conditioned) park. I really appreciate all of the effort of the staff. Forgot to mention, feeding a sting ray was also a pretty cool experience for my wife and I. At the end of the day, have realistic expectations about this place, it's an aquarium smaller than JC Pennys, but there is still fun to be had for everyone, especially if you have a little one who likes to feed the animals.

Experiencia negativa: We bought tickets online a week ago. When we arrived we were told the AIR CONDITIONING was out and had been for about 6 weeks. We were never informed about this when we bought our tickets or any time until we got there. We drove over 2 hours to this place to be told it was hotter inside Athens it was outside and we are talking the 4th of July weekend. We were told if we didn't want to go in the would, give us a 800 number that we could request a refund NO DISCOUNT NO REFUND, just a young girl with a bad attitude.

Experiencia negativa: I thought the aquarium was very dirty, tanks look grimy like they don’t get cleaned, there was water all over the floor. We couldn’t let our child down to walk in fear of him slipping and busting his head open. It’s very small so definitely don’t think it’s worth $50, I don’t know how someone spends longer than 45 mins in there. There are other rooms however these rooms need staff present and the staff was unavailable so you were sitting waiting..just not much fun in my opinion. Easily crowded..

Experiencia positiva: The AC was out, through no fault of their own. It is a very quick aquarium. Easy to do in under an hour. Lots of interactive exhibits. Geared more towards 10 and under. My 8 and 10 year old girls really enjoyed it. My 10 year old loved feeding the rays.

Experiencia positiva: This is a pretty nice place. Unfairly I compare this place, and I try not to, to Bass Pros WOW (Wonders Of Wildlife) in Springfield MO. A place I've been to five separate times and it's definitely sensory overload. Blue Zoo isn't in the same league but certainly offers a nice set up that family can enjoy. It's not as extensive as WOW, but certainly offers a quick glimpse into aquatic life that many don't know about, especially kids, unless they read about in schools or recreational TV that has channels to plug into to learn. The staff are genuinely friendly and helpful or do quick tours on a few aspects of this zoo. It's worth the stop especially if you have grade schooled age kids.

Experiencia negativa: Alot of money for a very small aquarium that took about 30 minutes to explore. None of the extra amusements for kids were fully operational or had attendants to help. No information about the species other than what it's name is. The aquarium in Branson is much better and the one at Bass Pro in Springfield rocks.

Experiencia negativa: I was here and this is horrible. The only reason this place has 5 stars is that in the start of the zoo they tell you to give them 5 stars for 2 tokens. You barely use the tokens. I cried more than once at the abuse this place is. The poor crested gecko is an adult and doesn’t move all day cuz it has no where to go. The scarlet mawcaw is scared out of its mind. They have a UNLOCKED door at the mawcaw cage, so we are went inside then got yelled at. LOCK YOUR DAMN CAGE?

Experiencia negativa: Lots of broken equipment. Staff pushed us to buy tokens and make sure to wash our hands. Went to hand wash station (2 available) neither had soap or paper towels. Ok, no biggie so we went to spend tokens. Out of food for everything besides the sting rays. When paying 17 per kid and 20 for adults. This shouldn't happen. 10 for 4 tokens get you 4 slices of clam to feed the sting ray. Save your money and make a trip to anywhere but here.

Experiencia negativa: Took the kids and it was ok for little ones. The water tables weren't working, there's only one worker for both the bird room and the tropical room so we didn't get to do that after waiting in line 15 minutes they came out of one room and went into the other. The thing I didn't appreciate the most was what had to be filled out at the front. I don't do QR codes and there's no reason to require an email to look at fish; we're not entering another country. Definitely will not go back and wouldn't recommend for kids over 6.

Experiencia negativa: Extremely Disappointing – Poor Management and Logistics Among Other Things Most of our visit to Blue Zoo Rogers was deeply disappointing. We went specifically to see the 1 PM mermaid show—something my daughter has been asking to do since March. She even wore her mermaid costume for the occasion. I checked the website multiple times before going to confirm the schedule (see screenshot), and nothing indicated a change. When we arrived, I checked in and wasn’t told anything about show times, but I already “knew” the show was at 1 PM based on the website, so we continued exploring. As 1 PM approached, I asked two staff members where the mermaid show would be. One said, “I don’t know the schedule” (which was baffling—don’t they work here?), and the other told me, “We no longer have that show at that time. You need to check the reception area’s monthly calendar for schedules.” Um... not the website?? I went to the reception area, which was still displaying last month’s calendar (May—when it was June 3). I asked another team member, who told me the website is incorrect and that I should instead check the in-person paper schedule next to the desk, which apparently changes daily. Changes daily and the website doesn't even ask you to call the facility to check?? The only reason I came to this aquarium—despite having season passes to a different one—is because my daughter has been begging to see mermaids. We timed our entire visit around that one highlight. It didn’t happen. Cue tears. Additionally, we waited 20 minutes to enter the reptile enclosure near the bird area, only to find out you can’t feed them there—you have to go to a separate section for that. The walk-through itself took about two minutes. Then we waited another 11 minutes for the bird exhibit. I have three young kids, and there was almost nothing to do or look at while we stood in line. The scarf activity next to the reptile/bird area was completely out of scarves (I told a staff member, who checked and said, “Yup, it is”). Other toddler-friendly things—like the felt board—are tucked behind soda machines, so I couldn’t supervise my kids and stay in line. While helping my littles, someone even cut in front of us for one of the activities. The water table was broken, with no water pumping. The bathroom we used had no changing table, and both the soap dispensers in the bathroom and at the handwashing stations were empty (the station had a small portable bottle though). The first touch tank had no paper towels. Now, for the positives: feeding the reptiles was cool (once I hunted down a staff member), and petting the sting rays was nice, though we didn’t feed them since we've done that elsewhere. Feeding the birds was the highlight—my kids genuinely loved that experience. I spent nearly $50 for admission specifically to see mermaids—and we didn’t. I also spent $10 on four tokens: three were worth it, but feeding the turtles was not. We won’t be returning, and now I get to spend even more time and money finding another experience where my daughter can finally see mermaids. To management: please get your logistics figured out. Keep your website up to date. Have adequate staff coverage—it felt chaotic, and I was constantly hauling my three young kids around just trying to find a team member so we could do the activities we paid extra for. We were there less than an hour after you opened, and yet soap dispensers were already empty—this is an easy fix. If you have a bathroom with a changing table, please post a sign on the other restrooms indicating where to find it. I shouldn’t have to change my son's poopy diaper while he is standing up, then not be able to wash either of our hands with soap afterward. These are simple things that could’ve elevated our experience from a 1-2 stars (I chose 2 stars only because of the birds) to a solid 4—if the water table was working too. And to those reading 5-star reviews, read them with a grain of salt. The facility has signs offering free tokens in exchange for 5-star reviews. Seems a little... fishy to me.

Experiencia negativa: Blue Zoo Rogers: Overpriced, Overcrowded, Neglected, and Unsafe. Blue Zoo Rogers charges nearly $20 per adult and $17 per child, but what you get is a rushed, overcrowded, poorly maintained, and sometimes dangerous experience—not the quality, education, or safety you expect. Animal Welfare is Disturbing: A large tortoise named Ivory was slowly led through a hallway by an associate who openly expressed annoyance instead of educating visitors. The tortoise urinated and defecated in a 2x2 ft puddle on a busy entrance hallway. The handler did nothing—no cleanup, no wet floor sign. I had to fetch a sign myself to warn visitors. The waste was wiped with just paper towels and tossed into a communal trash can—not an animal waste bin. This shows a shocking lack of sanitation and care. That same associate then took a small tortoise, about 10x6 inches, into a cramped party room packed with 25+ people. The little tortoise was nearly stepped on multiple times due to overcrowding. This careless handling shows blatant disregard for animal safety. The blue-tongue skink was kept in a tank far too small for its size. The poor animal was stressed and hiding under soil. Staff called it the “grumpiest” and “least social” skink they’d seen, clearly due to cramped conditions and constant disturbance. No reflective film shields it from stressful visitor interaction. Open-air freshwater tanks were uninspiring and mostly empty, housing only dull fish. Several children repeatedly touched turtles’ limbs and faces instead of shells, with no staff intervention—hurting animal welfare and setting bad examples. Stingray and shark tanks lacked enough sand substrate, essential for animal comfort. The tanks appeared barren and neglected. Aquarium Conditions Are Poor: The small saltwater tanks at the entrance were overgrown by red cyanobacteria, signaling chemical imbalance. Seahorses once housed there seem gone, replaced by cleaning snails. UV sterilizers floated loose instead of being properly mounted, making them ineffective. Compared to local aquarium stores, these tanks are a sad and embarrassing excuse for saltwater exhibits. The pump room, once a featured exhibit, was dark and unlit—likely abandoned or broken—mirroring the facility’s overall poor maintenance. Hygiene and Maintenance Are Lacking: Every hand-washing station lacked soap and paper towels, and some didn’t have stools for kids. When reporting shortages, staff replied with “we’re trying to refill,” which is unacceptable. Bathrooms were worse—empty soap dispensers, paper towels left unsanitarily on toilet tanks, showing negligence. Water-play stations were full of sand from unknown sources, and one was only half operational. No staff monitored these areas. Unsafe and Overcrowded Play Areas: The inflatable climbing tower was downright dangerous. Kids aged 3 to 12 climbed and jumped unsupervised, wearing shoes on wet vinyl floors—slippery and hazardous. The risk of a child falling 6 feet onto another below was real and ignored. No safety rules or supervision were in place. Crowding was an issue throughout, with narrow hallways and cramped rooms making safe movement difficult and stressing animals. Cheap Presentation and Poor Upkeep: Wall paintings looked amateurish and rinky-dink. Resin flooring was peeling and patched with mismatched sea-themed decals. Despite being relatively new, the facility shows severe signs of wear, likely accelerated by poor water management and heavy foot traffic. The air-tube play area was unlit and nearly invisible. No Liability Waivers or Safety Precautions: Neither I nor my family signed waivers or received warnings about safety risks—a major oversight given the hazards. Final Verdict: Blue Zoo Rogers is an overpriced, overcrowded, and dangerously mismanaged venue that neglects both animals and visitors. The poor hygiene, unsafe play areas, and lack of staff oversight are unacceptable, especially for the high admission prices. If you value your family’s safety and want an educational experience, avoid this place.

Experiencia negativa: There’s not many exhibits. The interactive toys don’t work. The worker at the bird encounter was more worried about her friends that were visiting than other customers. The bird experience is 4 minutes only. There was very little staff helping. Only takes about an hour to get through. The tokens for food are $2.50 each. You can get one shrimp to feed a stingray per token.

Experiencia fantástica: What a magical place! From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted with the sweetest staff, and everyone has been just amazing. They encourage you to interact with all of the animals, and everyone is very kind. All of the displays are well-maintained and animals look very happy. Even on Mother’s Day when there are a lot of people it has not felt crowded at all. I got to spend a lot of time with my favorites, the stingrays. I got to pet them many times and feed them as well. An absolutely wonderful experience.Highly recommend and cannot wait to come back and visit again.

Experiencia negativa: We've had a membership here for years and finally decided to cancel it. The aquarium has always been high priced for what you get but it has really went downhill. There are way fewer fish than there used to be and maintenance of the water tables has obviously not been completed. There is only one tablet to check guests in on and if someone is a new visitor the staff cannot let members in until the new guests are signed in. After I was assured my card was deleted from their system it was charged 19 days later. They told me that oh it must have already been pending. It's been another week and I still haven't been refunded. For the price drive to wonders of wildlife in Springfield. It is not much more and is a world class experience

Experiencia negativa: Blue Zoo has charged me after they assured me my membership had been canceled and my information removed from their system. After many phone calls and emails, I have NOT been given my refund that was promised to me by the staff, nor have I recieved any call back or email back from any form of management. I live out of state, and according to staff, my only other option would be to come in person for my refund. Proceed with caution, as there is very little follow through from staff if you happen to get wrongly/over charged.

Experiencia fantástica: I initially reviewed this place one star. After about a year we decided to give it a second chance. This five star review is primarily because of the worker named Misty. She helped us at the touch tanks, bird room, and tropical room. It felt like a VIP experience and she was so great with our kids. They loved her. I'm glad we gave this place a second chance. If they keep hiring people like her we will renew our passes no questions asked.

Experiencia negativa: this place is super small. not much too look at. needs more fish and awesome animals.it had no A/C and was super hot humid inside. all the animals were acting super hungry. we did pay to get tokens to feed the sting rays and turtles. towards the end it had huge empty space that they could use for more creatures but literally just waste of money. id say skip this place and save your money. i feel as if i wasted my money for sure. would not recommend to anyone and it is super lame.

Experiencia negativa: This "zoo" is the biggest waste of money. As a mother of 6; now grown, I attended today with one of my daughters. We TRIED to take our time in order to take in all exhibits. We looked at each exhibit for the explanation plaque, of which most do not have. Multiple tanks were very dirty. The Anemone exhibit is fake plastic. The coolest exhibit was the large fish exhibit. The tank was very small for the multiple large fish in it. We were done in about 30mins, even tho we were trying to go slowly. The condition of the exhibits and living conditions are shameful.

Experiencia positiva: We arrived at opening (11:00am) on a beautiful spring weekday. Other than one other couple, the two of us & our 6 y/o granddaughter had the place to ourselves for 30 minutes, at least. We appreciated hearing interesting facts from Missy, Joshua, and Jean, who were each friendly & welcoming to us, & to our granddaughter, and well informed when answering questions. The mermaid (“Emerald”) and the pirate (I didn’t ask her name but she played the part well) made an appearance for pictures and capped off our time which extended to just about 2 1/2 hours! Our granddaughter enjoyed the time spent in each of the exhibits! If 4 1/2 stars were available, I would have given them because the employees were wonderful. The admission cost seemed high but not exorbitant when one considers cost of a two hour movie at the theatre and no memories made!. (I did note that several towel dispensers weren’t working or were without towels at the handwashing sinks).

Experiencia negativa: Being so far inland, it has great shark and stingray exhibits. Only the release you must sign going in, there is a reason. The kids playarea. That bouncy climbing tower for the kids has no gaurd rails, no floor mats around it, only a concrete floor. I saw one little kid bounce off into the floor only fortunately, not on his head. The water interaction play area floor was full of water...very slick. The interaction exhibits were not working properly. Fishing area had one plastic fish for 20 kids. The extra tokens you buy are good only for fish food. Thankfully, they didn't sell me forty as I first requested. I gave the $10 worth of tokens purchased away. Admission costs. 2 seniors, 1 child and 1 adult plus $10 tokens, $50 in the gift shop added up to $150.00. $100 for aquarium just didn't equal to the few exhibits, even with the sharks and stingrays. It was disappointing only the little one did have fun.

Experiencia negativa: I had high hopes but it's really too pricey. For a large fish tank and to touch a stingray. Then it's just a bounce house and a few water games for kids to play. See some parakeets. Honestly we went to the per store across the walkway and was able to see the same things at a pet store for free. EVEN hold a parakeet. It's a 15 minute walk thru for 2 adults and a child 65 dollars. Just very disappointed. I won't go back. Would not recommend you could do anything else for that price. That's more worth the money . BASS pro shop has all the same fish tanks again for free . It's just nonsense.

Experiencia negativa: Way overpriced. We couldn’t get any staff to help us get in to see the birds. We spend $60 for 2 adults and one kid and were there for less than an hour. Huge let down. The bathroom was filthy. They had signs offering “two free feeding tokens” if you give them a 5 star review. You shouldn’t have to bribe customers for a good review so that’s pretty telling. It’s so small there was one poor girl working the counter selling entry tickets and ringing up gift store purchases simultaneously so the line was out the door.

No bird selection, 1 macaw that hid down in a low corner, that's abnormal and parakeets, no other birds. You were given 5 min but they were moving you out after 3. Initial fish tanks didn't list what the fish were, later tanks did. The Blue Zoo was a place to take my great granddaughter while she was here, but it was not worth it.

Everything the kids want to do you can't do, there are so many kids here that the animals don't want to eat so there's no reason to waste your time or your money that is what this place is based is coming here and feeding animals and having the interactive experience I bought tokens I didn't even use because the animals weren't hungry and the staff even said don't waste your time trying to feed the animals

Experiencia fantástica: Today was our second time going and both times were amazing! My daughter loves touching the stingrays and feeding the birds. Now, they also have a few axolotls, which are just too adorable. This is an awesome place to take your kids!

Experiencia fantástica: Neat place. Smaller with a good variety. My kids loved the bearded dragons, monitor, stingy rays, and birds. Staff are nice friendly. Weekdays are best to avoid crowds.

Experiencia positiva: My family had a wonderful time. My in-laws brought us with our child, and it was so much fun. Plus, the large tank was cool. However, it is kinda small, and some of the rooms you needed staff and the staff told us that they were busy with a field trip, so they couldn't help us until the kids left. They told me another 30 minutes or so. You can only keep a toddler interested so long, and we already saw pretty much everything. As I said, it's pretty small. We ended up leaving before seeing the guided exhibits like we wanted. Our toddler was ready for a snack and a nap after running around the gift shop for 15 minutes.

Experiencia fantástica: A nice little aquarium right in the middle of town. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Feeding the stingrays was super fine and it was a great way to spend an hour with the kiddo!

Experiencia fantástica: Very nice aquarium with many different species! Plan a 1-2h stop and enjoy learning about fish, reptiles, birds and other species. I recommend getting a couple of tokens to feed the birds and rays. Also a big shout to the staff, they are super friendly and will explain cool stuff about the animals!

Experiencia fantástica: Very small but we got to see Corbin Maxey and also SUBSCRIBE TO #CORBIN MAXEY. It was great to meet him and see some animals like tortellini one of the 5 baby tortoises but... Small aquarium and you get to feed stingrays.

Experiencia negativa: Went on a field trip for my son's class and it was not a good experience. None of the sinks had working paper towels, none of the soap pumps worked. The building upkeep was not good. The field trip started at 11 but took 30 minutes to get all the adults checked in with only one cashier. Need better organization. Staff overall were not that friendly.

Experiencia negativa: Very overpriced. I got some coins to feed the animals but nobody was available to help me get the food. Almost every interactive thing for kids to play with was broken or unusable. The event on the sites schedule just didn’t happen.

Experiencia negativa: I bought a membership since online I thought this place was much bigger, now I only come back to try to get my money's worth with my two young kids (3 & 1yr). The lady couldn't check me in bc she didn't know the code to the iPad, then after finally finding a piece of paper she wrote my name down and said she would check us in. It's always a mess in there. Flies all over the turtles. Water too low and dirty for the fish. It's honestly just sad the lack of care these animals get. There were older kids there that were insane on that bounce thing where my 3yo could not safely play on it. the water stations are broken and missing toys. I figured we could feed the birds in the bird room I went to find someone to let us in and after waiting 10 mins a young person showed up and ran through a list of rules. She said we had to sit on the benches to feed the birds. We have never had to do this before. But I said fine. When we got in the benches were covered in bird poop and I asked to still feed the birds but not have to sit on those benches. She was very rude and said we had to. I said there is poop all over them and said replied "well id be worried if there wasn't poop all over them" she was very rude. We then went to see the other animals and squatted down to look and she told us not to do that. I'm just so over this place. I feel bad for all the animals
