🗣️ Centro del Mar Texas: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Great aquarium center to visit. It is free of charge and accepts donations. They do a wonderful job. I wish it were larger. But I guess a large donor could make that happen. It has a small gift store so the children can leave with a souvenir of their experience. Hands-on touching of some sea creatures for the kids is terrific. Great job. Wonderful people work there. Don't forget to take a walk down the walkway to the fish hatcheries. Very interesting. Thank you Sea center Texas. We have visited several times and will be back.
Experiencia positiva: Nice stop for the kids. Wife said the ladies restroom was unpleasant
Experiencia fantástica: This place is a fun visit for the family if passing through the area. It is not an aquarium, but it has a decent amount of aquatic life exhibits.
Experiencia fantástica: Staff was friendly and knowledgeable very educational and the best part it's free.
Experiencia fantástica: Small but awesome to see, ran by awesome volunteers that dedicate their time and energy just so I can learn more about sea life and they even have a tour that has even more info about the Sea Center
Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic tour guide. Did not know such Centers existed and the good done for the ocean
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful place to visit. Recommend the guided tour to the hatchery area. All free.
Experiencia fantástica: Took my daughter up here for a fun, free summer activity! We enjoyed listening to the volunteers tell us about the stuff in the touch tank and then looking at all the fish! The wetlands walk was nice too! Just a bit hot in the Texas heat!
Experiencia fantástica: Highly suggest the Hatchery tour, Mr. Warren is amazing and makes the tour so interesting!
Experiencia fantástica: Don't miss an opportunity to stop here, we loved the staff who answered all our questions. The boardwalk is a great opportunity to see alligators!
Experiencia fantástica: We stop while we were taking a mini vacation in that area. It was very interesting. No charge. Would recommend to family.
Experiencia fantástica: The boardwalk area outside is wonderful. Saw two large alligators and a baby alligator. Great wetlands area
Experiencia positiva: This is a free and small aquarium. The staff members are very nice and welcoming. I enjoyed the outdoor boardwalk .
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome, free conservation and education institution. Largest saltwater hatchery in NA. The very, very kindly docent, Ed, gave us a kid-friendly tour of the facilities. Daughter could have stayed at the touch tank forever. Unforgettable!
Experiencia fantástica: What a wonderful find! Beautiful facility and nature walks. Amazing Staff and Volunteers. We will stop by regularly, it's free and we happily donated. I highly recommend!!! We saw turtles, alligators, lots of fish, and a snake!
Experiencia fantástica: Visited on a whim with my youngest. It is nice and small, the tour of the hatchery was fun to learn a lot. You can see some local species and there is a small touch tank.
Experiencia fantástica: Mr Gene (most amazing tour guide ever) gave us an amazing tour of the marsh and we saw a few gators and turtles. He was patience and so very kind to our 5 year old with a thousand questions and the 12 year old daughter that thinks she knows everything! Definitely worth the visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice stop with the kids. Free admission and a cute little gift shop.
Experiencia fantástica: Such a cool place! My son and I stopped by during a quick trip to Lake Jackson, TX. We were originally looking for a place to fish, and the receptionist was helpful in finding places to fish as well as inform us about the Sea Life Center. Staff was incredibly kind and helpful and the aquariums were beautiful! We will definitely be back.
Experiencia fantástica: We love this place and take the kids all the time. It’s free and the kids love watching the fish. We’ve done the tour through the hatchery as well which was totally worth it.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff was so friendly and kind and it is such a gem. Not super big but so worth it and fun to see! We walked through it twice it was so good!! And FREE!
Experiencia fantástica: Took the kids to see the fish and was able to get a tour with one of the volunteer tour guides. He was knowledgeable and patient with my 3 year old throughout the tour, and let the kids feed the fish in one of the stock ponds at the end of the tour. All saltwater, no freshwater, in case you were wondering.
Experiencia fantástica: We found Sea Center Texas online while looking for things to do during our visit from out of state. We were able to schedule a tour a day ahead of time to learn about how they hatch and raise the fish which was very informative. All of the volunteers we interacted with were awesome! Very knowledgeable, very friendly, very helpful. The touch pool was our kids' favorite part and they spent quite a bit of time there. Very clean facilities. Unexpectedly one of our favorite parts of vacation!
Experiencia fantástica: Fabulous free aquarium, if you are nerdy and interested the fish hatchery tour is great too.
Experiencia fantástica: Very cool experience.
Experiencia positiva: Pretty cool place for kids especially plus it's free will return
Experiencia fantástica: This place is always a good time. My daughter loves it here. We come here at least once a month and the staff is always super friendly and the tanks are always really clean and well kept. Love going to visit the nurse shark!
Experiencia fantástica: The Hatchery tour with Mack was very informative, and interesting. He makes a great tour guide, and I would recommend the tour. The tour requires reservations, but those are made easily by contacting the Aquarium from the contact info on the website. I also recommend visiting the Aquarium part where all the native fish are on display.
Experiencia fantástica: My son loved it!! They taught the kids how the hatchery works, they saw some pretty big fish and some really tiny ones, they learned about conservation, Texas fresh and saltwater and basic fishing skills. The personnel is friendly and super knowledgeable. We had a great day!!!! ♥️
Experiencia fantástica: I had a great time, the staff are friendly and helpful. You can go for free and look at fish, the touch tank was super fun and it was very kid friendly. They do a lot of activities there and have camps over the summer. I wish there were more places like this.
Experiencia fantástica: Best free exhibit ever. Make a donation. Money goes for good cause
Experiencia fantástica: A wonderful place ! Got to learn so much! The people were so nice and informative! Fishes are cool Gene our tour guy was really helpful and kind ✨
Experiencia fantástica: My colleagues and I visited here. We learned a lot. A great place to visit, take the kids.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome aquarium+hatchery located close to Houston. It takes 40mins to visit the place. For the hatchery tours ,check the timing and call in prior before visiting. The place closes by 4pm so better plan to visit before 2.40pm. You can touch some of the sea life here.
Experiencia fantástica: Very cool exhibits including a touch pool. My son loved the different fish and how the aquarium was set up to show the transition from on to off shore environments.
Experiencia fantástica: Certainly was an educating experience. Words can’t even describe it. Highly recommend visiting here if you’re interested in learning more about Speckled Seatrout, Red Drum and Flounder. I learned that Speckled trout are a very sensitive fish
Experiencia positiva: Super cute and indoor place for kids to learn more about sea life. We’ve been wanting to visit for some time but it is about 45 min away from us. We decided to visit during their Shark celebration event which was super cute for the kids but just a bit crowded. The building itself was a bit smaller than I imagined but still fun for the kids. However, outside of the event I’m not sure my toddler would spend enough time inside to warrant another drive in. Wish there were a free more interactive things to do during regular hours.
Experiencia fantástica: Free!! They only ask for a small donation. Cool volunteers and you get to see some big fish. Loved it!
Experiencia fantástica: A nice stop! It didn't take a long time to walk through it, but we enjoyed seeing the fish and reading about their efforts to keep fishing in the area.
Experiencia fantástica: We were visiting from Dallas-Fort Worth and came by to visit. The museum is free and they have guided tours as well. Our tour guide was Warren and he was very nice and knowledgeable about all subject matters regarding the museum and fishing.
Experiencia fantástica: I take my Grandsons a few times a month. They love the touch tank and walking around outside on the walkway.
Experiencia fantástica: It's free and very interesting. Love looking at the fish in the huge aquariums. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff answers all your questions. Great place to take kids!!
Experiencia fantástica: Great place to stop and learn about local wildlife. The outside walkway is nice and we got to see a few different animal friends along the way!
Experiencia fantástica: What a great little gem. Free admission and a LOT of displays. The little nature walk is also awesome - we saw 4 different types of birds in the 30 minutes we walked the boardwalk. Just beautiful. We also did the Fish Hatchery tour which was also informative. Definitely worth a stop!
Experiencia fantástica: Took the short drive down to Sea Center Texas today. I have been several times in the past and am happy to see the aquarium and wetlands area are still active and well maintained. If you are curious about the ecosystems along the coast of Texas and the Gulf in general this is a great spot to visit. Doesn't take long to wander through and is completely free to visit.
Experiencia fantástica: While I took my aquatic science students today for a field trip, this is a wonderful place for families as well. This facility has a touch tank, wetlands, a hatchery, aquariums, a gift shop, and more. We had a wonderful time and students were able to have fun learning. The Sea Center provides important opportunities to grow fish fry for release to support our local ecosystem particularly for trout, red drum, and flounder. Our tour guides were full of knowledge and wonderful. Even with little kids this would be a great way to spend a few hours.
Experiencia positiva: If interested in seeing the fish hatchery, be sire to make reservation for tour in advance. Beautiful facility with great aquaria and many mounted examples of area fish. Plentiful parking. Free admission.
Experiencia fantástica: Great family activity for children , teens, college students , and grandparents. Andy our tour guide was was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. I was extremely impressed with the aquarium and fisheries. I have lived in Pearland for 19 years and sad that I did not discover Sea Center Texas sooner. Thank you Sea Center Texas for conservation efforts , and providing such a wonderful center to learn in.
Experiencia fantástica: Each visit there's something different to "sea." The volunteers are polite and knowledgeable, always eager to share. The exhibits are fascinating, especially the jellyfish.
Experiencia fantástica: Free and a beautiful drive from Houston! They do accept donations which are encouraged but not forced, they do great work in keeping locals informed of what lives in our waters and why we need to keep these special ecosystems protected. The hatchery was unfortunately closed but we will be making a trip back. There is a boardwalk to go down and so much Information! Make sure to read the signs posted and be respectful of the creatures that live there. There are very nice volunteers and even a creature feature feel tank! Make sure to ask questions and again be respectful of the creatures inside. They will inform you of how to do so and what not to do. To make it a full day trip go visit Brazoria county state park before or after your visit! Great place to go after hiking or fishing at the state park down the street to cool off in the summer time! Go nature and learning about our local inhabitants beside the local humans.
Experiencia fantástica: My 3yo granddaughter loved this intimate aquarium, touch tidepool and its boardwalk. The volunteers are helpful, informative and very nice. Will return.
Experiencia fantástica: Pretty cool place where you can check out the few water tanks with small and large fish. They also have an interactive touch tank (make sure you wash your hands and rinse them off really good before you participate). There’s also an outdoor walking area where you can view the outside wetlands. The staff were very nice and courteous.
Experiencia fantástica: Very small but fun place to know more about sea life in Galveston bay. Volunteers are very nice people, always happy to answer your questions.
Experiencia fantástica: This Sea Center was very nice, and the fish hatchery tour is a must. Our guide gave lots of information about the fish stocking process for the once endangered Red Fish along with others. It has beautiful trails and many programs for families & kids. We really enjoyed our visit and best of all it's Free! I do recommend you call to set up your hatchery tour, especially if you have a large group.
Experiencia fantástica: FREE admission to this very interesting place. Lots of fish from Texas waters in different ecological areas. A great touch tank the kids loved. Volunteers are very knowledgeable and kind. Dave B. was a wealth of knowledge about the fish and creatures in the touch tank and in the aquariums. He was very kind to my granddaughters and spent a lot of time talking to them about the tank life. We made a donation on the way out. Well worth the 1 hour drive.
Experiencia fantástica: Free admittance. Super friendly people and affordable gift store. Spent about an hour inside and out. They have replicas of the largest fish ever caught throughout the state of Texas, each species. Great place for kids. Would definitely go back.
Experiencia fantástica: Great little place to stop in with the family. Hatchery wasn't doing tours that day, which is a shame because I'm attempting to get a job there. On that note, I think this is the greatest place in the world and if I could I would spend as much time there as possible. Local fish and information on each one and their environment. Information on conservation efforts in the area as well.
Experiencia fantástica: Free admission to Sea Center in Lake Jackson, TX. Santa and his elves were scuba diving to say hello to lots of kids who enjoyed seeing them on this December Saturday.
Experiencia fantástica: I drove down from Dallas to take the Introduction to Fishing Basics Class. Mason and the volunteers were knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to learn from. The Sea Center does a lot of work to help with the fish population. The tour of the facilities was interesting to go on and learn about the different tasks that go into helping the fish population. There is a catch and release pond where I was able to use the skills I was taught, and I caught four fish. I am happy to have taken this class at this facility,I am hooked! (pun intended) I'll be back for the 2024 season to take the fly fishing class.
Experiencia fantástica: Free and a great display! Donations are a help of course.
Experiencia fantástica: Nice family place for the whole family.
Experiencia fantástica: We were looking for something fun to do with our 9 year old granddaughter and had heard about Sea Center from another friend that took her 3 year old grandson there. We went on a Saturday and were pleasantly surprised. It is definitely small, but it is also free. They have a touch tank for the kiddos to look in and touch various sea creatures. There are a couple of small aquarium tanks with various fish and one with a jellyfish. These things kept our granddaughter's attention. We also had signed up for the fish hatchery tour (email ahead of time), and Dave was our tour guide. He is an older gentleman that volunteers there and is so full knowledge and passionate about conservation. There were about 8 of us on the tour of various ages and he was able to keep both old and young engaged. I highly recommend the drive to Lake Jackson for this quaint excursion. You will definitely learn something!
Experiencia fantástica: This was a nice place to visit. It was free to go to but donations are appreciated! there's not much else to do in this town so if you have kids it's definitely worth the trip to come see. Glad I went!
Experiencia fantástica: Fun thing to do in Lake Jackson!!!! You have to get reservations for the fish hatchery part, but it is well worth it! Dave was a great tour guide…it’s free and all volunteer so buy something from the very reasonably priced gift shop on your way out!
Experiencia fantástica: Lovely place to visit! We got to see the fish be fed and do a touch tank! It’s a small visit when it’s too hot to go out and see the rest of the center but it was lovely nonetheless
Experiencia fantástica: It was my first time there. My great grandson and I enjoyed the entire experience. We bought a fluffy shark because all proceeds go to feed the fish. The scavenger hunt was fun. Their is a tank for touching the different sea live.
Experiencia fantástica: A surprisingly good aquarium for a community of this size. Children flock to the touching experience where they can get very close to tidal pool creatures. There are several large tanks that are stocked with sea life from the Gulf of Mexico. They also have outside areas for a fresh water environment as well as a brackish water environment. There are also several hatchery pools which produce huge numbers of offshore fish each year. The parking lot is near the front door.
Experiencia fantástica: We always stop in here if we’re in the area. For a free attraction it’s really nice. Takes maybe 10 minutes to walk through the whole place, but the tanks are really well maintained, and they do add different small exhibits each time we’ve been. Plus, there’s a touch tank area which is really neat.
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing place! The place to go for those who love sea life. We went for the shark celebration, and were able to get up close with real sharks and those who study them.
Experiencia fantástica: We attended the free shark event and had a great time
Experiencia fantástica: This place was absolutely amazing. It’s free to get in but donations are appreciated. We waited to do the tour of the hatchery which I highly recommend. There were 11 of us for the tour and we all enjoyed it and learned a lot. It’s amazing to see the volunteer work a lot of these individuals put into the center and the passion they have for it.
Experiencia fantástica: Wow!!! The jewel of Lake Jackson!! We took the entire family, 18 of us, and had one heck of a great time. So many amazing animals, a nature trail, a touch tank, and a nifty gift shop. Don't walk, run to this amazing place!!
Experiencia fantástica: Our first time there. We enjoyed the entire experience. People are very friendly. Donations or buy something at gift shop goes to feeding the fish.
Experiencia fantástica: This is a really neat place to take the children. They have a petting tank. You can also walk out on a trail that goes through a reserve to a pier. You are able to take tours of the hatchery when they are g given. The park is free or donation. There is a fee to see the hatchery. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Experiencia fantástica: For the full experience allow them to tour you around whilst gaining intuitive knowledge fish and beyond. Btw kids love this simple trip so much my 2 year old did well considering how sensors were overwhelmed
Experiencia fantástica: I've have learned a lot from my visit what the Sea Center do for our state to maintain the fish population so many generations will have plenty of fishes to catch and eat.
Experiencia fantástica: Went on the nature walk of marsh land. Toured the fish hatchery. I loved it
Experiencia fantástica: This hatchery is a nice place for families. There were several tanks with several different native species of fish. The most interactive exhibit included live crabs (spider and hermit). The presenter was very knowledgeable and friendly. The hatchery tour was about 30 minutes long. The tour detailed how the hatchery began and the breeding cycle of the fish.
Experiencia fantástica: Loved the tour.. decided to become sponsors. A worthy donation and fun exhibits and visitors shop.
Experiencia fantástica: We love going to the Sea Center. It's very small. There is an area where children can touch shells, crabs, and other underwater creatures. This area is fully air conditioned. There is a tour of the hatchery available. I found it pretty interesting. However, my 7yo granddaughter was kind of bored. More talking than 'hands on' type tour. Plus, part of it is outside. Even inside, the hallway is basically the only area air conditioned. It takes about an hour. There is a small Boardwalk through the Wetlands, but it was June and hot, and that's for another day. It's all Volunteer ran and free (although donations are greatly appreciated!) There is a very small gift shop. Bathrooms were spotless.
Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I were on a mini vacation and found this place on a whim ! We absolutely enjoyed the tour and learned about things we never knew ! The experience was fun and we plan on visiting again on our next trip down !! It is free but they accept donations! Definitely keep donating as their cause to help the ocean is amazing ! We also got to play with crabs and touch things you normally wouldn’t from the ocean
Experiencia fantástica: A unique local experience and a walk down memory lane. Perfect for young ones, enough to see and learn about without being too long a visit. The touch tank is great too! Plus it’s free!
Experiencia fantástica: The Sea Center is a great place to bring your children and show them some of the fish in ou area. They have a tank for the kids to touch creatures, and some pretty massive fish in the Tanks as you walk through. There is also a Nature Board walk that brings them through a Wetlands Swamp, if you go at the right time you might see a Baby Alligator
Experiencia fantástica: We visited from North Carolina and my son absolutely loved it! Great place for Kids and parents to come and enjoy some aquatic beauties! HUGE fish aquariums and lots of great information about marine life! ITS DEFINITELY A MUST SEE!.
Experiencia fantástica: This was such a fun field trip for our high school students! We took a tour of the hatchery and did some fishing off their pier. The guides and volunteers were awesome and helpful!
Experiencia fantástica: Great informative trip, and great staff and volunteers in Texas Parks and Wildlife Department!
Experiencia fantástica: We stopped by and was lucky enough to have a last minute impromptu tour from the sweetest lady since we were in town from missouri. I cant remember her name but she was so nice asking us if we had any questions and even took some pictures for us. This was one of the best parts of our vacation and we highly recommend it. I may have gotten schooled on what a flounder was but that's my favorite fish now they're too cool! Check out the wetlands outside it's a beautiful scene. Dont miss a chance to see this spot and a do a hatery tour! Also please donate when you visit this place is free and does so much for the community and wildlife!
Experiencia fantástica: This is a great place to take anyone! You can learn so much about sea life!
Experiencia fantástica: Free!!! Small but cute and informative. We especially liked the boardwalk through the wetlands. Volunteers were very kind, helpful and cheerful. We had a great time!
Experiencia fantástica: Where do I start , Wonderful experience for my husband and I who are from New Hampshire coming to visit grandkids . Great Tour about the fishery given by Theresa and I’m sorry the young girl that did the tour with her they both did a very educational tour about fish that our 3 grandkids and us loved Everyone from the first girl that you see the minute you walk in are friendly and helpful , and the gift shop was very reasonably priced well thank you for a fun experience we will be back
Experiencia fantástica: Our granddaughters love the Sea Center! It is the perfect size. The volunteers are so friendly and helpful. Just a fantastic little outing!
Experiencia fantástica: I loved their scavenger hunt, and learning about all of the fish and wildlife. You can see all sorts of stuff, but I won't say what. There are all sorts of fun animals, plants and fish. There are two types of scavenger hunt, the aquarium hunt, and the wetland hunt. You can volunteer, and do all sorts of fun stuff.
Experiencia fantástica: first time here! It’s a small aquarium but you will sure enjoy it it’s very educational also! Staff is very helpful and will answer any question to their best knowledge.
Experiencia positiva: Make sure to check their hours of operation before going. Not too big but good enough for a venture. No fees, donations are welcomed. The "Touch Tank" should be a hit with the younger crowds.
Experiencia fantástica: This place is so wonderful! Magical for wee-ones! My hubby and I love taking our little loves here, it's free, donations are welcomed. The volunteers are always kind and knowledgeable, even if our toddler doesn't yet have the capacity to understand what they're being told at the touch tank, it's still good socialization and educational (who knew when the sea anemone is "sticking" to you thats really it stinging you with microscopic harpoons)! We are all lovers of marine life and though this facility may be smaller, it's full of fantastic oceanic life. I think the Jellyfish are our favorites at the moment, close second to the giant nurse sharks. There's an observation pier outside to walk on and they also give tours of their hatchery, though we haven't done these things yet, they are highly recommended by friends and family. We highly recommend this place to anyone in the area, whether it's a stop on a fun date outting, or to share an awesome memory with your kiddos, Sea Center is a gem! ✨️
Experiencia fantástica: We were so impressed with this place. So many interesting things to look at! The touch tanks were great fun and the aquarium tanks were well-maintained and full of interesting sea life. Volunteers were over the top in friendliness and information. Hard to believe it's free! Highly recommend for all ages - be sure to call ahead for a tour of the hatchery!
Experiencia fantástica: Great experience! Bubba the tour guide of the hatchery was awesome and very informative. This wasn't our first visit and won't be the last!
Experiencia positiva: Really nice adventure for the children! Had great fun and enjoyed it!
Experiencia fantástica: Cool little place to look around
Experiencia fantástica: Kids absolutely love the sea center. The touch tank is pretty cool. And the walk out on the pier is really nice. The volunteers are always so nice also.
