Experiencia fantástica: I recently visited it was an incredible experience! The variety of marine life was stunning, from vibrant fish to sharks and reptiles. The exhibits were informative, making it easy to learn about the different species. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to answer questions. I especially loved the interactive touch tanks where you could get up close with some of the creatures, especially the rays. I highly recommend visiting the Aquarium of Bosie– it’s a fantastic adventure for all ages!

Experiencia fantástica: My wife and I visited from out of state. The entire experience was incredible! Every room we walked in to, there was a staff member who told us stories about each specific animal. We loved it so much, we visited twice during our 5-day visit to Boise.

Experiencia positiva: Pretty decent variety of sea creatures here and lots of touch tanks which were cool. We noticed that most (if not all the plants in the reptile cages were not real and it made us a little concerned about the care of the reptiles since it’s so important to have real things and potentially bigger spaces. Some habitats seem very compact and potentially stressful for the animals living in them. The staff was very friendly though and told us many fun facts about the animals

Experiencia fantástica: A good place to visit when in Boise. A small area with a lot of educational marine species. From kids to adults will love the experience. The main stay to look for are the huge fishes like the grouper, paco, catfish to name a few. You can also touch some fishes like the stingrays, kois. Friendly staff.

Experiencia negativa: This aquarium was below average compared to my previous other aquarium experiences. It is very small and has very limited types of aquatic creatures on display. There's hardly,if any, info on what you're looking at, so no learning about them. Many tanks were too small for the amount or size of fish. Their tank environment lacks cover/ having anything much to keep them stimulated. The goldfish/koi are kept in a tiny boat labeled as a touch tank. Not only is the space very small for the amount in there, they also have to deal with the stress of many children trying to touch them. The reptiles are kept with fake plants, which doesn't very much resemble their natural habitat. The employees are nice. The place seems a bit run down and perhaps doesn't have the budget to properly display/house the fishes. Sadly, it is the only aquarium here. I love going to aquariums wherever I go, but this one I wouldn't be able to recommend it. Most of the fishes/reptiles here could be seen at petco/zamzows. However, if you want somewhere to take your kiddos and for them to run in and try to pet a sting ray or goldfish, this would be the place to do it

Experiencia positiva: Overall it was pretty fair. Facility does not seem well kept cracked windows, dirty bathrooms, and some exhibits looking decent others rough. Staff were either friendly hopping in to tell you fun facts or would ignore you. Not a ton of clarity if you can touch in some tanks or the main touch tank with rays they have a small shark that you cannot touch. How this works out is many small children are confused and a staff member is always there yelling at the kids. There are a decent variety of reptiles, and fish with a few birds. The best part really is the touch tank of safe sting rays and the chameleon. A number of the other fish you can see at the Petco in town. Overall it is decent, but I would check out the reptile zoo or Boise Zoo first (both I think are cheaper and more engaging).

Experiencia fantástica: My daughter and I both enjoy the aquarium. It's really cool to just check out the creatures and my daughter absolutely loves the touch tanks. There are normally employees there to assist with information about the reptiles and aquatics life. It is definitely a good place to take your kids at least once. If not more, I definitely have.

Experiencia positiva: Cute little aquarium. There’s a good variety of things you’re allowed to touch after washing your hands like rays, koi, plecostomus, starfish, urchins, and such. There’s albino sharks that hatched in the aquarium, a blue big lobster, a kid-sized grouper, animals in many sizes including teeny-tiny. Interesting facts are posted all over. The staff is friendly and helpful with answering random questions. For land-locked-Idaho, it’s pretty good.

Experiencia fantástica: The Marine Biologist accepted my jellyfish artwork that I made out of plastic bottles! I am so glad it's going to a good home! Thank you! He showed me around their jellyfish room and showed me the other jellyfish art pieces people have donated. Very creative pieces! My 7 yo LOVED the sting ray petting area! He even got splashed by one and I asked him if that was the best thing that's happened to him and he said yes really great staff there too and they are very knowledgeable! (I added some pictures of the piece I donated. I made it for a work competition and I used a lighter to melt the plastic into the jellyfish shape. I've had it hanging at my office for over a year and it's time to let go. Thankful for the aquarium taking it)

Experiencia negativa: This review is a bit different. I’m a free lance reviewer and had driven by this place quite a few times. I decided to check it out and possible draw more attention so they could get more people to come and check it out. I walked in and there was a door that said enter. Just as I got to it a staff person said WAIT a minute you need to pay to inter. The price was a bit steep for such a small place and I told her I do reviews for business to help drive more business. She call up a man and I explained it to him and he said in a stern voice everyone pays. Told him and the girl ( really you don’t want free advertising ) the man told me the same thing. I told them I will do a review with what I got but it’s not going to be a very good review. The lady just said in a happy kind voice ( ok ) smiling as if she did not care at all. The price is not worth it just go to the Boise zoo for a bit less and see some real exhibits with great animals.

Experiencia fantástica: I love this place so much. I always have a great time whenever I come here. We have a much larger aquarium in Boston but I prefer this one by far. It’s generally pretty quiet, and you don’t feel rushed to move from exhibit to exhibit, which is really nice. I also get anxiety from crowds, so it helps. If you want to feed the fish (which is really fun), you should go earlier since they tend to sell out. They have some freshwater and reptile exhibits too. Staff is excellent and the animals seem well taken care of n

Experiencia fantástica: I have been here many times, I've brought my nieces and nephews and my grandkids. It's always a great experience sometimes better than others but overall I always enjoy going and watching the kiddos get so excited. They sell food to feed the fish and it's a couple dollars but is limited. They also have a pond that you can touch starfish. They also have some reptiles, iguanas and snakes.

Experiencia fantástica: Very basic but perfect for a 4 yr old. The interactive aquariums were really neat for my grandson. He loved the ray exhibit and the fact that you can touch them was terrific. We were there for about an hour. The exhibits were clean and well taken care of. Nice little field trip on a cold wet day. We will be back.

Experiencia positiva: Great little Aquarium. My two kids absolutely loved it. They have plenty of touch ponds for the kids and some of the fish clean your fingers. They have a handful of different reptiles and birds as well. It's a little combination of animals. It's pretty amazing and it's clean and well taken care of. They have a decent gift shop as well to take goodies home. Plenty of wash stations to wash your hands. There's always an employee in each section to help out or inform you of the animals. They just got a little shark when we were there too. Definitely worth checking it out! Would take the kids back again!

Experiencia negativa: The ticket price of $13 isn’t expensive, but it’s surprising that it’s the same price as the much larger and more diverse zoo. Rather than calling it an aquarium, it feels more like a reptile house since there are far more reptiles than fish. The aquarium is quite small, with an outdated exterior. The tanks are also very small and shallow, making the fish look cramped and uncomfortable. Stingrays and sharks are swimming in a pool that’s only 30 centimeters deep. The environment isn’t very clean, and the gift shop is almost as big as the exhibit area. I can’t say there are very few animals, but it’s obvious that there is a lack of planning and design.

Experiencia positiva: A nice hidden gem. Though it is small it was still enjoyable. I would have like to seen a larger variety of fish there was aloy of the same types of fish in multiple tanks.

Experiencia negativa: I thought this would be a great visit to educate my kids. While the amphibian enclosures were appropriate sizes, the fish were in too small of tanks based on their size. I've included a picture of these robust freshwater fish in a tank with other large fish. Given their size, they needed bigger. It seemed highly inhumane. More importantly, their petting tanks remove the slime coat of the fish and stress them, ultimately decreasing Lifespan. Finally, their aviary enclosure had a bird that was clearly in distress on the ground and they were still selling access to go in and touch them. The grounded bird was laying on its side and looked panicked someone might come in.

Experiencia fantástica: While very small, there are a lot of touch stations for young kids. For older children it will be a quick visit, plan less than an hour.

Experiencia fantástica: Cute, little aquarium. Better suited for kids than adults, but I still enjoyed it. Most of the display tanks are on the smaller side but I didn't mind because there were lots of different animals and you can easily view the animals, even in the smaller enclosures. There were a lot of touch tanks throughout. In addition to aquatic life, there are lots of reptiles and amphibians. The staff were all really friendly and knowledgeable about the animals. I spent about 45 minutes here.

Experiencia fantástica: The Aquarium of Boise is a small-scale aquarium with many types of interesting tropical animals including the Blue American Lobster, Giant Sea Stars, Sea Anenomes, Stingrays, Tang fish and Clownfish (from the movie Finding Nemo), Red-tailed Catfish, Goliath Grouper fish, Black-tipped Reef Sharks, Plecostomus Fish (tank cleaner fish), Eels, Turtles, small parrots, Poison Dart Frogs, a Chameleon lizard, an Iguana lizard, a Monitor lizard, and other lizards, a Columbian Redtail Boa and other snakes. They have a display of dry sea artifacts, including a Blowfish, sand dollars, shark teeth, shark jaw bones, coral, and other assorted sea animal treasures. In addition to the tank displays, the aquarium has interactive activities like petting stingrays and other fish in open tanks (the Black-tipped Shark should not be petted because he is new and not used to people), an assisted visit to the parrot sanctuary, getting a hand manicure from the Plecostomus fish and other tiny fish, and petting the starfish. The aquarium is a great opportunity to see and experience tropical fish and animals that do not live in our local area except for a few animals found in local pet stores. It is a great kid-friendly activity to educate them about various animals.

Experiencia fantástica: This aquarium is an excellent place to see and interact with sea life! There are multiple touch tanks throughout the building, but the staff will ensure that you are handling the fish properly (ie: No picking up the fish, just stroke them with a couple fingers.) However, the aquarium does not house "larger" aquatic life such as dolphins or seals that you may find at larger aquariums, though I didn't mind this at all. Just be sure to check their website ahead of time to see if the exhibits are ones that you/your group would like to see. There is also an aviary containing four birds (at the time), where you can pay to enter and feed them using a small cup ($3 at the time of writing). One of the birds was a little more aggressive and ended up biting my finger (and breaking the skin) while I held the cup, so be wary regarding this. Despite this, I had an amazing time, and would definitely return if I were to visit Boise again :)

Experiencia fantástica: Our family really enjoyed this experience. There were 3 tanks for the kids to touch fish and rays, a wide variety of fishes and other animals to look at, and even a bird-feeding experience (we didn't do that one). You do have to pay at the door, and food for the fish and birds was extra (not extravagant). I thought it was a very cool hands-on, up-close experience that can be lacking at bigger aquariums. Staff was friendly and engaged. Overall good value for the money.

Experiencia positiva: This is a wonderful small aquarium. They have some freshwater, saltwater, reptile exhibits. Not a ton in the way of interactive experiences, but they do have a really large tank which is nice. I would like to see some more saltwater exhibits, coral reef style, I would also love to see some community classes on how to start a fish tank, maintenance care, and just general information on the habitats and what they are.

Experiencia fantástica: We come here frequently because we have an annual pass. We love this perfect little aquarium. My 3 year old is autistic and this is his happy place. He actually touched the water in the touch tank at our last visit. The staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable.

Experiencia positiva: Staff are friendly and the interactions were good for the kids. Seems a little run down and is pretty small. I maybe was expecting a larger aquarium for a big city.

Experiencia negativa: This is the saddest aquarium I have been to. They have fake plants inside all the tanks and there was visible mold in the tanks. Workers were kind but the place was small and shouldn’t be a place for that many sea creatures. The amount of touch tanks was also alarming. The animals are cute to look at but it was very sad to see. There was metal poking out in the sting ray touch tank and made me feel like they would be cut by it. And it was rusted. The fish were hardly swimming as well. The plants were really what did it for me, they cannot thrive in an environment that isn’t close to what they should actually be living in. Very disappointing.

Experiencia positiva: What the aquarium lacks in size, it makes up for in experience. Almost every section has a “touch pool,” allowing an immersive and interactive experience. Guests can feed and pet a variety of fish as well as interact with several amphibians. My only deduction is really for the lack of information on a lot of fish.

I was happy to hold a walking stick insect. Super cute! All the staff were very friendly and cages clean. I wish the gift shop was bigger but still ended up finding a token to take home from our little swing in.

Experiencia fantástica: We have a family pass, and use it often. When it is too hot or too cold, this is a great educational place to go. Get there early so you can feed the manta rays at 10 am and again at 2. Fun interactive place to learn.

Experiencia positiva: Great places for kids ages 2-6. It's small but there are a lot of touch pools and a lot of things are.low to see for kids. I would say you would spend 30-60 minutes here. I probably wouldn't go here often unless there is a membership pass and I lived here. We are just visiting for a weekend and this was fun for my kiddos. Mainly consists of fish, crabs, small sharks, reptiles and a few birds.

Experiencia positiva: We visited the Aquarium of Boise on a Sunday afternoon in June, 2023. They were pretty busy, but not overly so. We waited a few minutes for our turn to pay our admission to enter. They had discount rates if you were either over 55 years old, or a US Veteran. But not both. It's one or the other. But hey it saves you a couple of bucks if you qualify. The Aquarium isn't very large. Actually it's quite small being in a smaller warehouse. It's designed to start in the front left corner. You then proceed across the front of the building then it wraps back around the back. So it seems larger than it actually is. You of course exit through the gift shop. Would you expect anything else? They do not have any fish that is really considered large. Yes they have some sizable fish that are fairly large for a small tank. But you will not be seeing dolphins, penguins, or whales. No this is a smaller indoor building with smaller tanks. But, they have some fun things to see and learn about. There were not only fish and eels, small sharks and stingrays. There were also lizards and birds. So there is a good amount to see. Small children would probably really like this because it would be less overwhelming compared to an Orca jumping out of a pool and scaring them. Parking was adequate and right in front of the building. It was also free. It's always a good start when you do have to pay to park. They get a plus for that. We had a good time visiting the Aquarium of Boise. Yes it was smaller than almost every other aquarium I been to before. But it was different and totally indoors. As such, I feel most people would enjoy visiting the Aquarium.

Experiencia positiva: A really awesome experience. I took my 3 month old son there and he loved it, the tanks were like giant sensory videos and he was mesmerized. A nice selection of fish for a small aquarium and seemed quite clean. Lots of petting stations which is lots of fun for the Littles but my only complaint is the touch tanks need to be more supervised as I did witness several bratty unsupervised kids grabbing the fish today and that made me feel sick and horrified for the animals.

Experiencia positiva: Love this place get to touch animals and get up close. It is small you get through it in about 1 hour it can be longer if you wish to take more time. I feel their smaller salt water tanks are a bit repetitive. My issue is the cost to get in is more than the Zoo but in no way compares. Family of 6 total was $70 that's $20+ more than the zoo for us

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent, lovely staff and wonderful displays. There are lots of touch-pools where kids can interact with the creatures. So fun! Bring an extra t-shirt for the overly enthusiastic pool-touchers.

Experiencia positiva: Actually rated 5 stars but, statistically, more people look at the 4 star reviews. The aquarium is split into two sections: aquatic and reptiles with multiple open tanks, touch tanks, and various outer tank decorations that really bring out the atmosphere of the room. The workers can be seen feeding the animals in the morning and throughout the day - I saw the Caiman (baby alligator) and a lizard being fed. You can even feed the birds and Koi fish for 3 and 2 dollars respectfully - best to get there early, though, as they stop feeding past 4. I highly recommend the Behind the Seas tour. For only $36, a worker will take you to each tank - our guide, Hannah, let us feed the rays (only open to tours for feeding), sharks, fish that resembled large piranhas, and various other fish. The feeding was surprisingly diverse as well and Hannah had tons of facts about each animal. We even had a sighting of Stingray Steve. Overall, great experience. And the gift shop has the softest animals; I bought a blobfish.

Experiencia fantástica: Hannah was excellent on our Behind the Seas tour! She was very knowledgeable about all the rays and fish in the aquarium! She even knew a bit about the reptile section! Everyone should do a tour behind the scenes. You get to feed a lot of the larger animals and get up close and personal with them! Would highly recommend a visit to the Boise Aquarium! It was the highlight of my family's trip!

Experiencia fantástica: Its amazing that this place is in Idaho. Very awesome experience. They have Shark eggs in the baby shark nursery, stingrays that fly through the water, lucky Coy fish in a modified Boat tank, some reptiles, birds and a fish petting pond. Kids of all ages will love it and learn a few things as well. The Grouper fish is huge!

Experiencia positiva: Delightful. I will say that I wish staff would supervise the touch-tanks a little more, since some parents don’t feel the need to supervise their kids. The enclosures feel small but are obviously well cared for. It’s a quick and affordable bite-size way for kids to experience the ocean which we loved! Would recommend and look forward to returning.

The large touch tanks were so interesting and fun. It was a delight to watch the children interact with the fish. . There are beautiful parrots that like to interact with you. The staff acted as if they enjoyed their work and we're knowledgeable and helpful.

It was so much fun to have a behind the scenes tour that allowed us to feed and meet the different animals. I especially loved meeting the Rays. Experiencia positiva: This is a cute little aquarium. Loved the atmosphere here. Staff was very welcoming. They have a few different touch pools that were actually pretty awesome! I would say though that this place is pretty small and doesn’t offer a lot of room if it’s super busy. My wife and I took our time and still looked at everything in under 30 mins, Which isn’t a bad thing just I’m used to large aquariums where you can spend an easy 2 hours walking through the place. Either way this place is super awesome and I would love to see this place maybe grow and expand to a larger faculty!

Experiencia fantástica: Very interactive, very kid friendly. My kids absolutely loved it. Even my 7 month old had his hand in the touch tanks, letting fish nibble on his fingers, with help of course. For only 3 dollars and change, anyone 7+ can get a cup of fruit and go into the bird enclosure and they will land on your arm and eat out of your hand. My kids say that was their favorite part. Great variety of animals that you don't normally see at the average aquarium. The staff were super friendly and helpful, especially one guy. I didn't catch his name but he had long black hair with the sides shaved. He was great. Very knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly to the kids.

I would highly recommend it as a family outing. The Staff was pleasant, professional, and kind. Wonderful fun place for all ages.

Experiencia fantástica: What a wonderful place I took my bestie who was visiting from out of town and we had such a great time from feeding the rays, to seeing the aquatic and reptile life and having fun with the birds.

Experiencia positiva: Great place to bring your kids. Living in New England and having been to the New England Aquarium a few times it is not fair to compare the two. They make up for lack of exhibits with a few touch tanks which is cool. The staff is very friendly and you can tell they really care for the animals. Would I go again? -No. Would I recommend it to someone else? -If they had kids that loved fish, then yes; otherwise probably not.

Experiencia positiva: This Aquarium is definitely for the kiddies. Nice enough, its truly just a very small Aquarium for children to walk through and see different fish, have an educational experience and maybe take a photo with the employee dressed as a Mermaid. Very sweet. This is a toss up for me, good for a quick fun time, plan for something else to do afterwards you'll spend an hour tops here.

Experiencia fantástica: Lovely small aquarium in Boise. Don't come here expecting a large underwater tunnel like you'd find at many other aquariums. This place has its own charms. It's small and well laid out, good for kids. Several spots to interact , touch and feed the fish.

Experiencia fantástica: First time visiting the Aquarium and was very surprised by the cleaniness of the displays. All the tanks had clear water, vibrant fish, and looked amazing. Great job guys! Nice flow of the layout which allowed a lot of people to move around to see each display.

Experiencia fantástica: Loved the touch pool experiences! So many different animals & also a reptile area. Some of the reptiles are rescues which made my heart very happy. Definitely recommend you stop by for a visit (:

Experiencia positiva: We had somewhat low expectations because it seemed a little expensive for such a small place, but we really enjoyed our time. It was definitely worth the extra money to buy the fish food as well. I'd recommend planning at least an hour, maybe two if you like to pause and enjoy each exhibit.
