🗣️ Acuario Audubon: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: Seen sharks, pirahnas, alligator, poison dart frog, jelly fish, stingrays, tarantula. I love animals that kill. Paid $3 because I have EBT. (And ID) Blessed all I had to pay $3. Hallelujah.
Experiencia fantástica: A fun day. Great location and fun for all. The butterfly exhibit was our highlight. Lots of interactive activities for the little ones while exploring. Disappointed that I needed to pay for a bag after our purchase at the shops. Overall, good say.
Experiencia fantástica: We had a blast here. The jellyfish and the butterfly garden were our favorite!
Experiencia fantástica: We went on a Tuesday and the crowd was very small. We were able to take our time and enjoy the exhibits. The grandkids really enjoyed the aquarium and trying insect treats at the insectarium.
Experiencia negativa: I paid over $130 for myself and my son to visit the aquarium. We were done with the tour in about 40 minutes. It was a big disappointment at a big cost. If you’re gonna charge that much money you need to make it last longer
Experiencia fantástica: A great place to visit and have fun with the kids.
Experiencia negativa: Audubon spent $41 million to decimate half of the aquarium and cram the insectarium into there. They took out the entire amphibian exhibit, the seahorse exhibit, the otters, the IMAX, and frankly most of what made it feel so special. Even the cafe felt mainstreamed. The kid's meal used to include a reusable tote bag and a refillable juice squirter in the shape of a sea creature. While the menu is still much more impressive than the zoo's, it was disappointing to see those personal touches removed. The aquarium went from being an all-day adventure to a couple of hours roaming fish tanks. And a lot of off-limit offices. The insectarium isn't what it used to be, either. They took out the cockroach experience head dome and all of the insect-based games, and the butterfly garden is tiny compared to what it used to be. The walk-through path was incredibly crowded and we didn't get any magical moments with the butterflies. It felt like you were just being shuffled through a garden path. They were much better as separate entities, and they should have stayed that way. I paid a fortune for these Audubon passes and got disappointment in return. Also, a tip to Audubon members - the food kiosk will not give you an option for any kind of membership discount. You have to pay at the counter.
Experiencia positiva: Aquarium and Insectarium were both nice I like that they announce feeding times so people can watch if they choose to. However, combined I think we spent $50 per adult and $45 per child and that's a bit pricey for the overall amount of time that we spent inside (about 3-4 hours total).
Experiencia positiva: Good for kids; just 5 or 6 small tanks with fish, and a large tank with beautiful jelly fish, not really an aquarium place, there are more insects and butterflies, insectarium is a really big one! If you are looking to see fish - that's not the right place to see a real variety and many species. Only local fish are introduced, not fish from around the world. To the honor of this place it's needed to say that they have a white alligator, a very unique species!! A pretty good educational children's place tho!
Experiencia fantástica: Amazing aquarium to bring the kids. There are special events like feedings, painting with the penguins, and more. They even have hot food for sell inside.
Experiencia positiva: It was okay. I felt like the atmosphere was geared more for the tourists/guests than it was for the animal residents (captive creatures). I feel like the tanks could have had better habitats. The insect exhibit was fascinating and a butterflies were beautiful, but one of the employees kept picking them up and it was irritating (just because you can doesn’t mean you should). The staff was all very nice. Part of the exhibit must have been closed (because we never found the bird atrium) which, by-the-way, is outside right by the train and ferry boats and every time the train honked it’s horn or ferry boats steam engine announced itself to the entire globe, the birds freaked out in a panic and I felt for them. Some tanks offered nothing but fish and were very narrow and just seemingly a shite place for the fish to live. Albeit, sometimes an aquarium is better than the wild, as the signage does explain: overfishing, polluted waters and oil spills have destroyed habitats. I hope for the money spent- the animals are first in-line to receive the benefits. All in all not bad and we had a good time! Clean VR Gift shop is accessible even if you don’t buy tickets No parking at all Right in the riverwalk!
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome little aquarium! Definitely worth the trip. Get there early to beat the crowds. The stingray pool is one of the best we've ever seen—interactive, clean, and unforgettable. Great for all ages!
Experiencia fantástica: If you have little ones and live close enough, buy season passes. It's totally worth it for you to have endless hours of indoor fun and wonder for them.
Experiencia fantástica: We were warned ahead of time that parking isn’t the greatest. We were told to make an adventure of it and park across the Mississippi River and catch the Algiers Ferry to the aquarium. This is what we did and my family had a lot of fun doing so! The aquarium & insectarium is beautiful!! We had so much fun walking through, reading everything and participating in the exhibits. We went on a Wednesday, it was roughly 2pm when we arrived. It was “busy” but there were no waits, nor were there people in the way. We leisurely were able to see everything. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, directing you along the way. We bought the 3 park combo pass which included the zoo. I felt that the ZOO gift shop was much better and had a lot of “Audubon Zoo” branded items. The aquarium had a lot of marine life and insect plushies, but not many things with the Audubon Aquarium or Insectarium name attached. I really wanted an Aquarium/Insectarium magnet. Oh well. Overall, we had a great experience and HIGHLY recommend it!!!!
Experiencia fantástica: Very cool Aquarium, definitely lots to look at. Make sure to look up what parking they validate before hand as there are many places to park and not all are able to be validated!
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome upgrades. The tanks are clear and it's really fun to see all the animals out and about. The insect part was awesome ! The butterfly garden was also a fantastic walk thru. Slightly pricey for a family of 4 roughly around 180$ for tickets. Over all a really chill and wonderful experience.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice and well laid out aquarium with Interactive exhibits!
Experiencia fantástica: This was a pleasant surprise it wasn't even on our list for vacation. It rain that day I'm so glad it did. I would recommend this Aquarium to everyone. We had six people in our group all adults. We ended up spending over four hours there. A really cool insect section. The butterfly walk through was fantastic!!!! Even had some bugs to snack on. Of course bird's, fish and much more. If you're after down in this area please check it out.
Experiencia fantástica: The staff was great. The lady was very eager to answer any questions. She talked to the guests about the different exhibits. She showed the children the different sea animals and called some of them by their names.
Experiencia positiva: The aquarium was very nice. I have been several times, and it is very clean inside. The animals aside from a shark look healthy for the most part. I do wish there were more differing species of sharks and cnidarians. I do reccomend bringing kids and family.
Experiencia fantástica: We had a good time when we visited NOLA. It’s a nice aquarium. Lots of different areas to see. We LOVED the butterfly area. So many beautiful butterflies and they just fly around. We wished there was more animals to see and more variety of insects as it was a lot of beetles. It’s kinda pricey but we enjoyed ourselves.
Experiencia fantástica: This is an awesome aquarium! A lot to see. Very well kept and organized. We've been to a lot of aquariums, and this is one of best...
Experiencia positiva: The aquarium plus zoo price was a great value. Aquarium is a bit small so expect that. But they do have really neat enclosures! Staff were kind and helpful!
Experiencia fantástica: Really cool and fun place to visit! The insectarium was super interesting — you can even eat bugs and walk among beautiful butterflies. The aquarium was calming and a great escape from the heat. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: We had a blast, and the staff was all friendly and helpful. We have the membership, and it was well worth it. The insectrium is connected, and you can do both in about 2:30-3 hours with a 6 and 2 year old. Maybe faster with older kids. Bathrooms were nice and clean. It was a lot of fun to be had with some interactive exhibits. Smell and hear some bugs, fun facts all throughout for different types of learners.
Experiencia fantástica: The Audubon Aquarium & Insectarium was a winderful indoor treat for us the families from all over the world. They have a lot if aquatic species that you can have touch experiences. The Insectarium was also interesting with 350K plus varieties and species. The bees and butterflies pupae and pollinators are good idea to propagate them. They have insects at the cafeteria that you can delightfully taste!
Experiencia positiva: First time visiting after Katrina, but not much had changed. They added the insectarium but the aquarium focuses on bayou fish and gulf fish around oil platforms. There is a touch pool for rays and sharks, but the sharks were a bit shy. Having experience the Georgia aquarium, this one can be a bit less WOW! but is still nice.
Experiencia fantástica: This was the best part of my New Orleans visit. So nice easily walkable. Kind employees.
Experiencia positiva: I had not been to the Audubon Aquarium since before Hurricane Katrina, but as a kid, we bought memberships every year and went as often as we could. The aquarium isn’t as nice as it used to be. There are a lot of blank/empty spaces, the fountain isn’t working, and the money grabs are wild. Like the two places to buy pictures and two gift shops, followed up by the deep sea ride. The rainforest section doesn’t have half the displays it used to and you used to be able to go up in the treehouse, now it’s blocked by trash cans. I was so excited to see the poison frogs! The biggest disappointment was the removal of the tide pool, I really wanted to show my daughter the baby sharks and a starfish and sea anemone, etc. Also I don’t remember the Audubon Aquarium being so dark! They’ve blocked all of the windows in the front. It used to be a premier aquarium, one of the best in America. We would travel and see other aquariums and I would think that the one at home was so much better. I don’t know that o would say that now. Also the half baked Mayan section is pitiful
Experiencia fantástica: Cool, little aquarium, and insectarium. Spent about 2 hours there. We really enjoyed the butterfly room and touch pool.
Experiencia fantástica: We had a nice time at this aquarium.
Experiencia fantástica: Very good aquarium well set up.
Experiencia positiva: This was a rainy day activity on our vacation. Nice aquarium and a cool insectarium (there’s even a butterfly room). There’s exhibits explaining the local ecosystem, and a “bug cafe” (which we did not try but certainly looked interesting!). Unfortunately, aquarium admission is pretty pricey for what it is ($40+ for an adult!) and I wouldn’t recommend this as a top NOLA activity - it’s fun but not unique. Good way to keep the kiddos entertained for a bit, or to kill some time on a rainy day.
Experiencia positiva: It was ok, nothing spectacular. Especially when compared to other acquiariums in smaller cities it was a bit disappointing. It looked like tons of fun for kiddos.
Experiencia positiva: As an old person, it was nice to take a break from the heat, but if you have young one they would diffinlety enjoy it.
Experiencia positiva: Awesome exhibits, staff is very knowledgeable, wish there was more tanks and everything is extremely overpriced but overall a great experience
Experiencia negativa: I am disabled and I have multiple disabilities. The main one's are mental illness and a disease that makes it hard to stand or walk for long periods of time and cardiac issues. I have a service dog that is trained for these illnesses. I have a stroller that is designed to help.me walk and hold me up and support my service animals. My husband and I were in New orleans for our anniversary 04/2025. We travel.often and always visit aquariums and zoos and never had a problem in any place we visit including other countries. We arrived at Audubon and were quickly approached by what appear to be a greeter, aggressively and asks was our service dogs service dogs and what do they do etc extremely triggering for me, mind you they were fully vested with equipment on. I answered his questions even though they are not suppose to ask me what my issues are and what they do, and it was not a nice curious ask it was intruding and aggressive. He then point is to get tickets he then hurries.over to speak to her about us. When I get there the young lady begins to say the same type of questions to me and the I pull.out my certified license and service dog card and she then says 1 second get another lady (that we find out is off the closk).who also very very aggressively approaches and says okay well you can't have the stroller (I am only 49 and I .trying g to avoid a wheelchair for as long as possible and the stroller is designed to hold my weight and theirs and assists me with being mobile and somewhat normal, as I again have to explain the refused to listen refused to the highest level vy this time I am panicked and crying and my husband is trying to help the understand other visitors have entered and we are the spectacle and I cannot tell you how I felt I would not wish this on another disabled person ever. I have filed a complaint directly with the aquarium and heard nothing! I tried to file with BBB and I am also speaking woth the American Disabilities foundation to make them aware, I have never been treated this way anywhere we have traveled, they just kept saying I had to leave the stroller that the dog needed to be on their floor, the they kept telling me the areas I could not visit because I had a service animal etc. Not 1 time did they listen nor care the distress they placed me in. There were familys.coming invite children bigger then my 28 pound service dogs with stroller being allowed to take them, when I mentioned that I was told it's just their policy, so PLEASE IF YOU ARE A DISABLED PEROSN DO NOT VISIT THIS AQUARIUM THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT US AT ALL!!!!I WOULD GOVE NO STARS IF I COULD. I will add this was our last day in New orleans and ruined the entire day for us.
Experiencia fantástica: It was a fun experience and a decent aquarium!
Experiencia fantástica: We had a fantastic time at the Audubon Aquarium and Insectarium! It’s a great value for the price—there’s so much to see and do, especially if you have little ones. Our toddler was absolutely fascinated by the colorful fish, interactive exhibits, and especially the butterfly garden. The insectarium is surprisingly fun and educational, with plenty of hands-on displays that kept our child engaged. Everything is clean, well-organized, and stroller-friendly, making it easy to explore with a young family. Highly recommend for a fun and memorable day out in New Orleans!
Experiencia positiva: It is a nice aquarium. The insectaquarium was also nice. About average for the exhibits and the size. It makes a nice 2 to 3-hour visit. If I could give it 3.5 Stars I would.
Experiencia fantástica: Such an amazing experience! The animals are all well cared for and clean. We got to pet stingrays and they were super adorable. It's filled with information and you can spend a whole day here!
Experiencia positiva: Brought 3 kids under 2yrs old, they were a little young to appreciate it, but it was still fun. My only gripe is they made us turn our wagon in and use a stroller, yet I saw other families with wagons throughout the building. Kids 4 and older will definitely appreciate it more.
Experiencia fantástica: This is a seriously epic Aquarium. Locals love it and if you are visiting, you will find the location feels quintessentially New Orleans, right next to the Mississippi and in the heart of the CBD. There are multiple parking lots around but they only validate parking at the Hilton Whale Lot, parking info is on their website. They recently added the Insectarium to the Aquarium (it used to have it's own site), so that's an added bonus! The exhibits themselves are amazing to see, they have a lot of room to house a wide range of marine life. This is great for families or adults looking for something to do indoors to escape the heat. It is probably best to plan on eating before of after your visit, the food there isn't really worth the premium cost. We only eat there occasionally if we're really hungry and didn't plan well. There are so many good restaurants nearby! They have season passes that also work for the Audubon Zoo (another must see!!)
Experiencia fantástica: Wonderful place with so much to see. We purchase tix for both. Spent about 3 hours there and was amazed. Very clean and so much to see.
Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I had a great time at the aquarium! We loved the insectarium as well. Everything was very clean and well kept. The workers were very nice and informative, especially Grant. If we are in town again we will definitely revisit.
Experiencia fantástica: The most Breathtaking, Amazing place to visit. This is a Must see!!! It will blow your mind with wonder
Experiencia fantástica: My son, and even family, really enjoyed the aquarium. It's not so huge that it's intimidating or tiny to where it's just a few minutes of exhibits and you're done. Well kept and appealing displays. As an added bonus the insectarium is now joined with the aquarium so two displays in one! I would recommend the Audubon Aquarium and Insectarium primarily for kids <12 as it's absent of your large fish (ie sharks, tuna, etc) and marine mammals I've seen at other aquariums, but nonetheless awesome for the young children: aquarium, insectarium, play area, "try a bug" café, etc.
Experiencia fantástica: At the insectarium we had a blast My grandson, my son-in-law and I all ate a bug! Chocolate chirp cookies are great! Then we went to the aquarium where we had. Lots of fun watching the fish, the penguins and the rays Great family fun!
Experiencia positiva: The aquarium was not the best one I’ve ever been to. I thought it would’ve been a lot better to be honest. I think it would be nice if you have small children, but if you’re an adult, I feel like you could probably pass. The price of the ticket wasn’t worth it. Personally for me if you really like aquariums do it but if you’re just looking for something to do find something else.
Experiencia positiva: Loved the aquarium! The building was huge but deceptively smaller on the inside. I loved the butterfly exhibit.
Experiencia fantástica: My 2 year old daughters first time at the zoo and we had a great time. We went the day before Easter and we all enjoyed ourselves.
Experiencia fantástica: This is a beautiful aquarium with the most fascinating exhibits of aquatic animals and birds. You will have a marvelous time.
Experiencia fantástica: Very fun and insightful! You can easily spend at least 3-4 hours here. I even tried their chocolate chip cricket cookies! (Don't worry, you can't taste the cricket)
Experiencia positiva: The newly included insect area was quite neat. Overall it was a fun walk through but didn't really wow me compared to other aquariums. The restrooms were not very clean and the staff did not seem all that enthused about their topics at the sting ray touching area. There were not very many kid friendly interactive experiences so it was fun but I would not pay to go back again.
Experiencia fantástica: Such an amazing experience from the aquarium and all the interactive information on the under sea life to the insectitarium where they have a butterfly garden you can actually walk through and they land on you! Such an amazing experience all of our kids had an absolute blast! I recommend getting the zoo tickets included as that's a day adventure and you save money vs buying separately! DO them seperate on different days as the zoo took us 4.5 hours to do!
Experiencia fantástica: I thought there used to be sharks there but my family enjoyed it overall! Boudin balls were pretty good
Experiencia positiva: The insectiquarium and aquarium are together which is nice. Neither are very big, so it doesn't take terribly long to get through either. The facility is very clean. If you're traveling with a stroller or wagon and we were, plan on taking a couple of elevators to get from A to B. Easy to traverse and manage. Good for kids and handicapped.
Experiencia positiva: It was an amazing experience. It was very memorable. The over all service was good. The tickets are priced decently. The whole visit was worth the price. Very inclusive and hands on. The interaction is amazing. The guides were very professional, informing people of places to see and explaining the exhibits. There was so much to see and explore. We loved it. However..... (I know, there's always something right?) There is 2 issues we had here. First, they made us pay for one of their umbrella strollers which was $11. I called ahead of time and described the wagon we had and if they allow it, they said yes! When we got there I acknowledged that i had called and they still said No to us bringing our own wagon in. We had a wagon which would have fit throughout the Aquarium and Insectarium perfectly. It wasn't that big at all. They weren't very polite about telling us to buy on of their strollers. Second, the photo they take of you at the beginning. Make sure you get everyone in the photo. If you have babies pick them up. The photographer was NOT professional at all, there wasn't a line behind us he just rushed us and took an awful photo. My son was barely popping up over the photo. I was really bummed out about that. The photographer didn't ask us if we were satisfied with it, again he just rushed us off. Which if you ask me is lazy... Overall double check everything before you go here.
Experiencia positiva: Great place to visit while in New Orleans. Admission costs for children 12+ is an adults ticket. We didn't eat there, although there is a restaurant. The butterfly section was the families favourite part. Ample parking around the aquarium. Will take you roughly 1 hrs 30mins to walk around.
Experiencia positiva: There were a lot of variety of animals with good exhibits. The zoo was clean and a decent price for what you get to see.
Experiencia fantástica: My kids loved the butterfly exhibit. I loved watching the sea turtle.
Experiencia positiva: Overall good place to visit, it is compliant with the Animal Welfare Regulation. The aquarium and insectarium are well maintained and pretty with nice displays but the visit is quite short (~1 hour and a half) for the price (~$40). Can be worth it if you come from far and would like to see fishes from this region!
Experiencia fantástica: It was our second time there and the first time with our son. He loved it!! We were told we couldn't have a wagon in the aquarium but a regular stroller was fine. However, there were a couple of wagons going through while we were.
Experiencia fantástica: Great place to spend a few hours. There were a ton of exhibits in both the aquarium and insectarium for everyone to enjoy!
Experiencia fantástica: $40 per person for full access to insect and aquarium. $5(?) more for access to a zoo, but I did not observe any entries or anything that specified where that was anyway, I was here for approx 2 hours and had a great time. Music and ambiance are lovely!!! Please check this place out
Experiencia fantástica: Fun experience to have with friends or family. Was nice to visit and learn new facts about the many different insects/marine life.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely stunning!!! Best aquarium we've been to yet! Thanks New Orleans for an amazing experience.
Experiencia negativa: IT was crowded! The people there were nice. The insectarium is a part of the aquarium. The best park was the butterfly enclosure. The reason for the two stars is that if you've ever been to another aquarium, this one will be disappointing. There isn't a whole lot to look at. They do have a tunnel to walk through to see the fish swim all around and over you, but it is very short. I personally would not spend the money for this again.
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful aquarium! You can’t miss the insect area—my kids, my parents, all of us enjoyed it so much. There’s a butterfly sanctuary where you can walk among them, it’s truly beautiful. And the section with fish and sea animals is very well designed to give you a complete experience. 10/10
Experiencia fantástica: Fun family fun. Recently bought membership so will return. It only takes a few hours to trully enjoy, so plan a half day. Add insectarium for the Littles. Beautiful butterfly exiihibit. Learning fun within the aquatic world. Then enjoy the Riverwalk.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome experience with the combined insectarium and aquarium!!! Great exhibits with loads of information and interesting facts. Great for kids and adults alike!
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome place to go. I tried cheddar and bacon crickets and chocolate chips cricket cookies. We also went through a huge room with butterflies and petted sting rays.
Experiencia fantástica: I really enjoyed my time at the aquarium. I went for an event, which overall it was great. I went years ago and have the same joy as I had before.
Experiencia fantástica: Very fun experience! Two adults, no kids and had a blast!
Experiencia fantástica: Family trip with the whole tribe, little ones had a great time! Not a lot to do in the quarter for kids, but this was a lot of fun for all of them. Recommend doing the insectarium first, really cool, but after walking the aquarium first you might skip it. Only word of caution...only buy tickets from the Audubon website, other sites show the days all booked.
Experiencia fantástica: Very nice city aquarium with an impressive insect section and some rescued birds of prey. It gets busy so buy in advance.
Experiencia positiva: A bit pricey for the size of it and the butterfly exhibit was very sparce, which I was excited to see. I did really enjoy the underwater tunnel and the large wall aquarium. Those were beautiful!
Experiencia fantástica: It took us about 5 hours to get through the entire zoo. The perfect way to spend a day with our kids! We enjoyed the new River Jungle exhibit very much. The weather was perfect, too!
Experiencia fantástica: I've been to Monterey, Shedd, Milwaukee Discovery, so I have some expectations. My teens and I really enjoyed the Audubon during week day spring break- not crowded. Helpful informative staff. Really like insectarium, especially the chance to try bug cuisine. Nice, active, interesting
Experiencia fantástica: Super fun! Loved the stingray petting area and butterfly garden! Super cool atmosphere, 100% recommend!
Experiencia fantástica: Great aquarium and great location. Very clean and easy to navigate. Large variety of fish and insects with very few displays closed.
Experiencia fantástica: Aquarium and insects were a lot of fun to see, employees have good information about all the creatures. Plus, penguins are cute
Experiencia positiva: We started our trip here by going to the insect area. It was cool to see these different insects and the high point was the butterfly room. We then went to the aquarium and enjoyed our time walking around. My son especially enjoyed the chance to pet the sting rays.
Experiencia fantástica: Fantastic engaged staff and very exciting spot to visit in New Orleans for both adults and kids! Recommended!
Experiencia fantástica: An incredible yet costly experience ($40 per person) we did on a whim. Completely worth it though because we got to pet a sting ray (by far our favorite part of the experience)! In fact they were so adorable we had to come back to them at the end. They have a wide variety of sea creatures and creepy insects to observe here. Took us about 3 hours to get through the whole thing. The jellyfish exhibits were mesmerizing to stare at. There’s a glass tunnel at the end that you get to walk through and see rays, sharks and fish swimming all around. The insect exhibits were super interesting and a little bit unnerving to look at. At the end you can even try a free sample of roasted mealworm and/or cricket! Definitely worth the $40 to visit. You can even add on zoo admission to your ticket at a discounted rate. I recommend doing that if you have time.
Experiencia fantástica: Loved being here. Aquariums are my favorite place to visit wherever I go. So much to see...and I ate a cricket...tasted like a sunflower seed...very interesting!
Experiencia positiva: The insectarium was really kool. The overall aquarium was average. The staff was friendly. The only thing that kind of suck was the lack of lockers and the size of them.
Experiencia fantástica: This was a great experience we did on a whim. We went during parade season so it was not super crowded. Tons of interactive exhibits were very fun and accessible for all age groups (we are adults). Very cool to see the biome exhibits and tons of variety in species and presentation. Highly recommend.
Experiencia fantástica: A very calming and well laid out reimagined project! We hadn't been since before the updates (when the butterfly Garden was located on Canal St), and it flows very well. There's something for everyone, especially the kids, and Audubon knows its target audience. A pleasant stroll through sea, land and air.
Experiencia fantástica: Really cool aquarium it had a good amount of animals and information. There's a lot of insects and information on them. We didn't get to go to the zoo unfortunately. It was clean and the staff were nice. A good place to spend a couple of hours with the kids.
Experiencia negativa: If you’re looking for a place to go with your children, this will do the trick. In a city without a huge amount of family friendly activities, this is surely something enjoyable to do with the kids. As a big marine wildlife and aquarium enthusiast, I wouldn’t recommend it. If you are looking for an educational experience with a real interest in the animals, this will not be it for you. The enclosures/tanks are not awful for the most part, but they aren’t great. Many of them are very overstocked. Most of the plants are plastic. The fish on display are equivalent to your local fish store, with less variety. If you are looking for saltwater fish, you won’t find much of that. The information available is sparse. The employees and volunteers were all lovely. The facility itself is beautifully done. If you’re looking for something to do with your family in a city with few options, it’ll kill some time. If you’re an adult looking for an aquarium experience, skip it.
Experiencia fantástica: I can’t get no—bad attraction! 'Cause this aquarium’s pure perfection! I saw fish, and I touched rays, Even saw awesome insects in a glass display!
Experiencia fantástica: My fìance & I had the pleasure of going to the Audubon Aquarium, insectarium, & the zoo for the price of one. All of the workers were HIGHLY knowledgeable & intune with their sections. first we went to the insectrium & was greeted by a man telling us facts about all different bee species & was amazing with facts on every species. We then went to the butterfly pavilion & that was a treat, kids love it. last but not least we met Steve one of their fish & her bff Freddy (who terrorizes the tank at times lol) everyone was so kind, knowledgeable & knew everything & more about these creatures. 10/10 experience for couples & families! today is the 13th of February & our tickets are good until the 17th! I loved it completely I recommend this for anyone coming to New Orleans!
Experiencia fantástica: This zoo has everything! First zoo I’ve been to that had actual animals to see.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome aquarium. Great staff, GRANI was so nice and explained so many things to us. Just great. The insectarium was great as well, more for kids but nevertheless interesting even for adults. A must see in NOLA
Experiencia fantástica: My daughter loved going here more than the zoo. Plenty of stuff to look at and if you walk about 20 minutes down the road there's plenty of food options!
Experiencia fantástica: Lots of exhibits, was able to take lots of great pics! The jellyfish/nettles are simply mesmerizing. The butterflies are a delight. Definitely go when it's not too busy. Easily walkable from French Quarter/Jackson Sq. One ticket gets you into aquarium, insectarium, and zoo (zoo is located 20 min from the other 2, easy Uber).
Experiencia fantástica: Had a lot of fun learning about really cool gross insects, the walk through the butterfly area was amazing the people working there had a lot of knowledge. Just ask questions! Let’s not forget the fish. Learned alot about penguins and saw their feeding. The hands on experience with the stingrays was crazy.
Experiencia positiva: We bought aquarium+ insectarium tickets on this New Orleans trip. Touch a ray's fin, see penguins feed and observe sharks and myriads of fish at the aquarium. If I could do it over we would have skipped the insectarium and opted for the aquarium only - it's the better museum
Experiencia positiva: The Aquarium is nice but it is half of what it used to be. Some of the exhibits are photos and art work. The prices of the souvenirs make Disney look like a goodwill and the prices of tickets for what you get or see is ten times worse. It is a shame that this fine establishment has gone so far down hill.
