🗣️ Acuario Marino de Clearwater: Opiniones
Experiencia fantástica: I had such a blast at this aquarium while on my vacation here. Walking through the entrance you’re greeted with getting your pictures taken and have the option to buy (like the usual). You then walk through an area of a touch display. All the staff was super friendly and cheerful and fuuuuuuulllllll of knowledge about the animals. It was interesting to listen to their stories. I was highly tempted to jump into the water with the dolphins for a swim because I’ve always wanted to do that and they are just so cute hahaha! I would definitely come again if I even come to the Clearwater area again. Thank you for the fun time!!
Experiencia negativa: Disappointing. Not busy, no issues but very underwhelmed by the whole venue. Kinda of run down and be aware most of it is not air conditioned so plan accordingly. BUT, I did really enjoy the dolphin boat ride. Definitely worth the money for that.
Experiencia positiva: Nice local attraction but too expensive for entry plus $15 parking. Kids will like.the marine life and the hands on stations but not enough to do for the price. The manatee station was closed plus a few other exhibits. I would say its ok if you're looking for something for kids 5 or under.
Experiencia fantástica: Been here many times growing up on trips to Florida. Brought my daughter back and got to see Winter before she passed away. Love this aquarium and all of the great work they do. Must do on the list if visiting the area.
Experiencia positiva: This place was ok, they didn't really have much for animals or much to do. The dolphin show was lame. For an aquarium the size that it was they could have more species.
Experiencia fantástica: While visiting the Aquarium with my wife and children. We experienced a lot of educational information. Some staff members helped with questions we had. Also a young lady volunteering I believe was super helpful with sights we could take advantage of. Believe her name was Jaimie just remember she was from Woodstock... Just want to thank you for an amazing and everlasting experience... our family truly made memories. We will be back soon!
Experiencia negativa: A few of the exhibits were under construction/renovation and closed so there were very few animals to see, however this isn’t disclosed before guests purchase the tickets. There isn’t much to see. The best experience we had was the boat excursion, they take you out for about 45 mins to see dolphins, birds, nature and teach about local wildlife, but if you don’t buy your tickets online before heading to the aquarium they’ll be sold out before you get there since they only have about 20-25 spots on the boat. Clearwater was very nice place to visit and we definitely loved the Dolphins at the aquarium.
Experiencia positiva: We parked a few blocks away to get free parking on the street. Great experience with sting rays that you can touch. Feeding them costs extra money. It was very confusing getting around the building. There are several floors, but it was difficult to actually tell what floor you were on. It's like a maze. They have a large fish tank where you can see a few dolphin. There is a marine hospital, but everything is in tanks, and you can't see any of the turtles or fish there. They have a movie theater that runs short 30-minute clips of educational videos. I didn't eat there, but folks look like they were enjoying the food. There are plenty of clean bathrooms.
Experiencia positiva: I’m glad my money went to conservation and rehabilitation, but the place, felt like a dump. They told us it would take 3-4 hours to see everything. It took us 90 min for the dolphin info thing, seeing everything, and watching two movies. All my kids were bored. (Aged 8-18)
Experiencia positiva: There are so many places to go in Florida to actually get up close to nature - and see it for FREE, instead of paying exorbitant prices for artificial viewing. We have kayaked in areas where dolphins are swimming next to us. The Aquarium is nice but not great. Hoping to see more things soon from this place. It's still worth going I think.
Experiencia positiva: It is a very cool place. A little to much in price for what it is. The website made it look like there would be dolphins and manatees, however neither of those things were there. The coolest part was the turtle.
Experiencia negativa: I don't recommend this place. Tickets are expensive, they have almost no fish. They offer a dolphin show, and the space is uncomfortable. Only the first 15 people who stand in front of the railing can see it, and everything is under the sun. I feel like I wasted my time, and especially my money. There are no fish, and nothing fun.
Experiencia negativa: Was fun to see but 100$ for family of 3. We were able to walk through in 1 hour. Not much of aquarium more of a rehab center. Was a nice place and neat to see but expensive.
Experiencia negativa: Dolphin show was just Education, My 5-year-old didn't understand nothing. When we were there about 15 years ago They had a nice dolphin show doing tricks. Won't go again! Nor will I recommend it to anybody!
Experiencia fantástica: Dolphin Tale and Dolphin Tale 2 were such a big part of our kids lives growing up. Leia always wanted to see Winter but sadly we weren't able to make the trip before she passed away. For her graduation trip we made a stop at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium to meet Hope the Dolphin. We happened upon the nicest volunteer names Susan who took us right to see Hope. The whole experience was just wonderful and very much worth the trip. It was a great experience as a dad to be able to give this experience to my girls. We even got to see Roofus! Thank you Clearwater Marine Aquarium!
Experiencia fantástica: 4.5 ⭐️ The Clearwater Aquarium is a must see if you are visiting Clearwater Florida. As an active animal rehabilitation center, it is fascinating to see all the work they do to rescue Florida wildlife. We did the Behind the Scenes walking tour, which I would probably not recommend if you plan to spend time going around the aquarium before or after the tour. Although we did go in some staff only areas, it felt a little redundant to what we had already explored ourselves. We did pay to feed a dolphin on the tour, which was really cool, but we wish it offered a chance for a family member or friend to take a photo or video of you feeding the dolphin. We ended the day at the aquarium by going on the Dolphin and Wildlife Boat Tour. Our captain and tour guides were very knowledgeable on how to find wild dolphins in the gulf and identifying them with their dolphin identification system which was really cool. We even saw a family of dolphins with calves. I’d highly recommend the boat tour. Overall, we had a great day and would recommend the aquarium as a must do for animal lovers.
Experiencia fantástica: The Clearwater Aquarium is very nice and has very beautiful marine life. My daughter and I enjoyed watching the Dolphin show and the fact that we can touch and see the stingrays. It was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed it very much. Thank you.
Experiencia negativa: Nice parts but as a whole it's very disorganized and kind of a mess. You can tell the focus is on things like the dolphins and other specialties but if you're coming for a "walk around for a few hours" experience I do not advise it. Especially if it's hot as most of the experiences are outside.
Experiencia fantástica: Last time I visited this aquarium, they still had Winter the Dolphin there and it was much smaller. They have since drastically expanded so I took the wife here. Upon entering they have several options for touring. We opted for the private tour. We had our own personal guide. He took us around the behind the scenes of everything from the kitchen to the operating area to a back stage seat of the dolphin show. It was well worth the extra money. This place is great!! Highly recommended and definitely pay for the private tour.
Experiencia fantástica: The Capybara experience brought us here but watching the dolphins was my main highlight. I really liked watching them from the underwater view. They have so much personality. Staff was awesome from start to finish. The cafe food is worth it!!
Experiencia negativa: I visited this aquarium with my family but it was pretty boring. There were not many species of fish, no sharks which is strange considering it is in Florida, there were no manatees, no dolphin shows except that every now and then they only talked about some fish. I have visited other aquariums, in Barcelona Spain, Malta, Sarasota and Genoa Italy here is the most beautiful but this was the worst I have seen very boring.
Experiencia fantástica: It was so much fun. Most of the activities is inside. They have people everywhere if you have questions. The gift shop was pricey.
Experiencia positiva: Visited on the Tampa City pass, would have been massively disappointed if we had paid full price. $15 dollars to park in the Aquarium seems excessive also as we went round it in about 2 hours as so much was shut (manatees) or under construction. The best part were the dolphin pools, however due to the ‘window of wonder’ being partially in the sun and covered in children’s dirty finger marks (despite the best effort of the poor guy trying to keep it clean) it was very difficult to see into. A lot of the other tanks were dirty also. It is also strangely laid out with not much direction or a map. I would advise that you think about visiting on a full price ticket at the moment, but I applaud the hard work of the staff for rehabilitation and ethos of the Aquarium.
Experiencia fantástica: I've wanted to visit here since the movie Dolphin Tale came out lol, finally got the chance and very thankful I was able to stop by. Very cool experience.
Experiencia negativa: Cool experience if you're interested in the animal rehabilitation part of it. Otherwise VERY expensive for a family of 8... plus $15 for each car to park! Only took about 45 minutes to see everything. Lots of construction. Disappointed for the money spent!
Experiencia fantástica: Great wild ocean life rescue! I love how they contribute to rescue and rehab wild life in the water. Their staffs are very kind and informative that I learned about their animals from what happened to them to what their habitat is like. Very educational and fun place to visit for everyone
Experiencia fantástica: We came on a rainy Monday while on vacation. Well worth the 45 minute drive from the resort we stayed at. I could have watched the dolphins the whole time but it was fun checking out the other animals they have on site too. My only complaint was it was hard to see the dolphins and the trainers with the grid cage around the area. I don’t know if that’s down for safety for the animals and trainers and if that’s the case I completely understand. We spent about 2 hours here.
Experiencia fantástica: What an unforgettable experience at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium! From the moment we arrived, the staff and volunteers made us feel welcome and engaged. The volunteers were amazing. They were so friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely excited to teach us about the animals and their rescue stories. One of the highlights was feeding the stingrays, which was such a fun and interactive moment for the whole family. This place is not just an aquarium, it’s a place with heart and purpose. We’ll definitely be back!
Experiencia negativa: I wish this review was better. I SO wanted to love this place but did not. Many exhibits are closed or under construction. Difficult to maneuver around. No one to ask questions to find exhibits. Few talks or shows to see. The 1 we did see it was difficult to hear. There are BEAUTIFUL large tanks to see the dolphins in but no educational talks on them. You just get to watch employees interacting with them from afar. The place was very clean. Pricy. $12 or so to park. Look for parking on the street for free. One of the elevators was down. Long line to get in. I'd go to the Gulfarium in Destin 20 times over before going here again.
Experiencia fantástica: Clearwater Marine Aquarium is amazing! There's a lot to see & do. The dolphin exhibit, petting the stingrays, & watching the otters play was my favorite part of our day spent there. Unfortunately, the manatee exhibit was closed when we went - the sign said due to a hurricane. We still had a great time & would recommend visiting while in the area!
Experiencia positiva: We bought a membership last weekend & visited on Saturday. Parking was easy on 3rd floor deck & you walk right into the lobby. Even with a membership the short line took a while. On a Saturday morning there were only 2 people & They’re helping people decide how many tickets what they wanna go see plan which extra stuff they want. And needs to be a person dedicated to memberships And more than two people on a Saturday morning overall. Then, as soon as you have your tickets, you walk around the desk to go in, and there are people with cameras that you don’t know where they are there Who start barking instructions at you. Apparently they want to take a nice family photo, which was a very nice touch, But my hands are still full of receipts and tickets and trying to put things away. I didn’t want to do that at the desk because the line was so long. I didn’t want to hold up the next people.. They seemed a little put out that I would not drop what I was doing and take a picture right away. It did sour the whole experience because we start the visit with somebody barking at us and then unhappy with us. Then we Decided to go outside because you can see the big tank right there. The exhibits were nice. They were very well taken care of. The people manning the animals were pleasant & Knowledgeable . And they happily interacted with people. I do like how they put the animals on Touch breaks so they weren’t overwhelmed. And they were very nice when they explained what was going on . The only issue we had with the Experience inside was that it very difficult to navigate your way around. There are signs, but they point in general directions. I’m sure after we go three or four times we will learn our way around, but if you are a one time visitor to the area, this was not easy to navigate. Also, I have no idea if we actually saw everything. I’m sure there are maps, but we didn’t see any. I think there is one online. When it was time for us to leave, there is no clearly marked way out. It’s a very meandering and nothing says like this way to exit to the parking garage. It was a little frustrating. Two staff members were very nice and helped us find our way out and said yes they have to do this every day 15 times because no one can find their way out. We bought a membership so obviously we will be going back. Again, the aquarium itself was very, very clean And the people with the animals were very nice.
Experiencia fantástica: I love this place!! I grew up with winter and visited as a kid and still love to go. They are a rehabilitation center and care for their animals very much. I want to try and volunteer here during my college years. Thank you for all that you guys have done!!
Experiencia positiva: Clearwater Marine Aquarium is a great rescue and rehab facility with a focus on education. AZA accredited. To me, the gem of this place is getting to see the clinic, parts of which are open to the public. You can see the sea turtle rehab pools and everything. Some things I didn’t like about CMA: it is pretty expensive ($42 for each adult plus $15 for parking). The money is going towards rescue efforts but it’s still a lot for what you see. Outside of dolphins and turtles, the species on site are pretty limited. The facility is actually pretty big but there’s very few animals in the space. It’s not well laid out and difficult to navigate, and it’s easy to miss something. Still, You can get through in less than an hour. You won’t see a variety of fishes. Additionally, the visibility inside the tanks is pretty poor (see picture). Bottom line: if you’re interested in rescue and rehab, this is the place for you. If you want to see a variety of animals and spend a day at the aquarium, probably go somewhere else. If you have to drive more than an hour to get here, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Experiencia negativa: This is a rescue facility not an aquarium. If you're coming here expecting big zoo quality displays of sharks, rays, tropical fish, etc for the most part you will be disappointed. What you will find is a working rescue facility. If you're looking for clean glass without algae, freshly painted pretty areas this is not the place for you. The Tampa aquarium is beautiful, aesthetically pleasing, and well maintained. Teaming with a variety of species of waterfowl, alligators, sharks, fish, etc... To wrap it up if you're looking for a working rescue facility Clearwater Aquarium is great. If you want a beautiful well maintained aesthetically pleasing experience please go to the Florida Tampa aquarium.
Experiencia negativa: We have visited several times over the years and it seems that each time, it becomes more lame. First of all, $15 to park seems steep. The parking garage is not well marked and seemed somewhat confusing. Even when exiting- had we not glanced to our right, we would not have known to pay at the kiosk for parking. There were no discounts for disabled or seniors and the entry for three people was over $120. The floor where you enter and pay for admission, is entirely food and the gift shop (which you are required to exit through). Although there were several employees, none really seemed engaged with the patrons (except for the trio that seemingly were accosting those that just entered for photos). There was a very small tank to put your hands in (which many were reluctant to 'pet' a horseshoe crab). The top floor was a theater and a few small fish tanks along with a virtual reality video game which was another $14. We saw one turtle and two otters- again, this exhibit is so scaled down from what it was. Employees just sat there- not engaged with visitors. The dolphin 'show' was a fraction of what it used to be. There were many 'out of order' signs posted and the frequency for any audience engagement was lacking. I would also suggest they make an effort to shade the public area in front of the dolphin exhibit- the heat made it prohibitive for elderly patrons and infants. I saw several removing themselves rather than bake in the sun. For the price we paid, I would have thought we would be entertained for a couple hours at least- I felt like we just kept walking around to find something to see. Adding in the price for a couple stuffed animals and drinks for three, it was a VERY expensive visit. Years ago, it was an educational experience- now it just seems like a money maker.
Experiencia fantástica: Such a great place! It’s not splashy and state of the art. It’s the emphasis on the care of the animals and rehabilitation. The people truly care. We took a dolphin cruise and they were telling us why they stay back from them and go slow. Truly dedicated to the safety and well being of all the marine animals. It’s a non profit so all the money goes to helping sea life. Truly glad to have went there and spent there!☮️❤️
Experiencia positiva: Too expensive for what it is. They are doing a lot of construction so many exhibits are not open. Not only is it $42.00 per person just to enter, but all experiences are also extra per person, and not cheap!!! Very disappointing. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. And the food at Shark Bites is tasty. Make sure you mention you are member if you get the membership so you get your discount. They will not prompt you.
Experiencia positiva: Lovely aquarium. Love their mission and passion for rehabilitation. The “animal talks” were so fun and informative. I strongly urge guests to attend each “animal talk.” The aquarium provides a schedule. It was a nice way to see all the aquarium has to offer and learn about the animals as you go. They also have a nice theatre with some fun, educational movies that seemed to keep all ages entertained. The food court actually had some pretty tasty food and the prices were reasonable. I gave 4 stars because the admission price was high (which I personally didn’t mind paying because it goes to a good cause) and unless you follow along with the “animal talks,” it seems a little disorganized and you wouldn’t get as much out of it.
Experiencia positiva: Being a marine hospital and rehab facility first made sense and helped lessen the blow of the ticket price per person. We enjoyed the live animals such as sea turtles and stingrays. The exhibits could use some updating and more descriptions about the animal you're viewing. I do admit that my opinion may be a little biased as my home town area has one of the best aquariums in the country. Like I said the fact they rehab and release the animals they can made it worthwhile, but would have been more enjoyable if we could have participated in the extra add-ons but they were WAY overpriced. We did buy the photos as they weren't terrible $35 for 3. However $15 to park is ridiculous!!
Experiencia positiva: To sum up. It's okay. As aquariums go I've been to much better. But, it's not a aquarium in the usual sense, it's a marine aquatic rescue center. They do have some really cool animals though. Very overpriced add on's can be purchased if desired. The initial ticket price is a touch on the high side when you could literally get through every exhibit in about 40 minutes and that's trying to force yourself to go slower. But I also didn't have young children with me that would take longer. Some areas are very climate controlled others you will start baking lol. A portion of ticket and add on sales go towards the rehab and release of the animals and the others that are deemed "unfit" to be released are housed and get very good health care from the facility. So that softened the blow of the inflated prices for me. I get it. Great family friendly environment. Great for something to do on a rainy beach day. Good upkeep on the facility, really great photographers and the staff seemed very knowledgeable when questioned about the animals. I would recommend for anyone just have the wallet handy. Have fun
Experiencia fantástica: My family had such a wonderful experience here. There are so many sea creatures, dolphins, and even a raccoon! There were three touch pools with varieties of creatures, even sharks! We got to pet and feed capybara and go on a boat to the bay to help with a research project. AMAZING
Experiencia negativa: As far as attractions go, this is pretty lame. It’s mostly little aquarium fishes. No show, no class, nothing remotely exciting or fun. The facility is pretty nice. But I won’t regret going if, as they claim, a lot of the entrance fees go towards helping creatures in need.
Experiencia positiva: We had a great time. It's a bit pricey but proceeds go to help the rescued animals so it's worth it. I feel like they need to hand out maps or have big maps on the walls because it's not really marked that well in my opinion. It was hard to find things. We finally found a QR code that you could scan for the map but it was hard to read on my phone. Watching the dolphins play was fun. The manatee area was closed but that's understandable because it was damaged during the hurricane. We did a boat tour and while that was also pricey it was a lot of fun. We were able to go to a little island and find seashells and we learned a lot about the local marine life.
Experiencia negativa: Was not worth the admission fee. Elevators were down and I have bad knees. I had to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs. The snack bars only take credit cards, no cash. I didn't really get to see many of the animals. There wasn't really anyone to tell you where to go to find anything. It was really hot, even inside. I was very disappointed.
Experiencia fantástica: I loved visiting Clearwater Marine Aquarium! I grew up watching the Dolphin Tail movies, Winter and Hope hold a special place in my heart, so this was special for me to experience!! I truly wish I could have gotten to come see Winter, her and her story will always be remembered and I loved seeing her memorials, I got to learn even more about her! I loved seeing Hope and the other dolphins, as well as lots of other sea life! I would love to go back! I definitely recommend going!!
Experiencia positiva: Very educational and lived up to the experience. It was interesting watching the trainers do the dolphin shows because they train them in unconventional ways. Plus the tank is super big!
Experiencia negativa: I had been so so excited about coming for years and was really disappointed today. It’s an iconic place, but the experience doesn’t match. First, the signage is hard to navigate and the layout is confusing. The staff wasn’t engaged with people near them, playing on their phones, or just sitting there. The glass was dirty to the enclosures — it’s hard to see in. Much of it closed off or just empty and doesn’t seem kept up well. Seems like they are doing a WONDERFUL rescue work, and I commend that, but they need to shine up their customer experience side or lower the price—not a $40 experience. I was so disappointed after many years of being an eager Winter fan!
Experiencia fantástica: Always love the Aquarium, but definitely a great place to attend a Candlelight Fever concert!
Experiencia positiva: We had a great tour around the aquarium. The mammals and animals are very well cared for. Based on the fact that they are all rescued and deemed non returnable to their natural habitats, it is heartwarming to see how well they are taken care of. I highly recommend making the trip and taking a tour around to the various habitats. You will learn alot!
Experiencia fantástica: I had a blast! The staff is very informative and educational. Seeing the time and effort they put in to recover and rehabilitated the marine life is incredible! Would highly recommend check it out!
Experiencia fantástica: This place is a gem. I first visited the aquarium in the early 1980s when they were early in their journey, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my visits ever since. It's a great place for out of town visitors and locals alike. They do important work in conserving our marine environment.
Experiencia negativa: Over priced for what was offered. Overhyped as well. Aquarium exhibits were spread across multiple floors. Not super simple to navigate. Some floors were not accessible on one elevator. Not visibly marked either. Staff didn’t seem very accommodating unless they wanted to sell you something. There was an additional cost for parking as well. Not sure how this received a “best of” nomination. #Disappointed
Experiencia fantástica: We attended with my wife's 8th graders from her class and really enjoyed the dolphin show and to see how you folks care for these animals. Heart warming to see their dedication. BTW we used City Passes to attend. Would highly recommend those as well.
Experiencia fantástica: We did the behind the scenes tour and the dolphin boat tour. Both were so informative and worth it. We got to feed dolphins with the Behind the Scenes tour and you get access to the kitchen where they breakdown each animals diet. Michael, our tour guide was great! On the boat tour there were plenty of dolphins and we even got to see some manatees! I highly recommend including at least one experience during your visit.
Experiencia fantástica: Had a wonderful and educational experience today....fascinated with the diversity of animals and loved the dolphins exhibits. ..Staff was friendly, professional and helpful. So enjoyed the stingray tank too....I definitely will come again.
Experiencia positiva: Took my son here the other day and I love that they're rescuing animals but I feel with the prices they charge for tickets the money should go more towards cleaning the tanks and putting more then cement in them rather then ballrooms, VR experiences and food. Otherwise its a great place.
Experiencia fantástica: Love this place. Did the vip dolphin guide. 10/10 recommend.
Experiencia negativa: I'm disappointed, we drove here for 2 hours because we thought there were really good fish, big sharks and lots of dolphins here. But this is not here, we didn't like it, we paid 184 dollars, and we and the children are dissatisfied
Experiencia fantástica: We did the VIP Dolphin meeting experience behind the scenes & it was worth every $ to make ever lasting memories!!
Experiencia negativa: Very disappointing! The venue was confusing and difficult to navigate. The performances were extremely brief, and it feels more like we donated money to support the care of injured animals than receiving a memorable experience. I’m not sure I would recommend this place. Also the cost did not equate the experience!
Experiencia fantástica: What an exciting adventure. We learned so much from our fantastic guides, we got to see a bald eagle, 6 dolphins, watch pelicans dive bomb for food, and we got to drop a net and catch some things to discuss. Never experienced something like this and I would do it again. Oh it was the seas life safari btw
Experiencia fantástica: Beautiful facility with a wonderful mission. We learned so much and all the employees and volunteers were kind and helpful.
Experiencia fantástica: Dominick and the photographers were amazing and hospitable. There was a young lady in a salmon color shirt that was cleaning the dining tables and who brought our food to us, she was an absolute doll. Appreciated her kindness very much. Kudos to Kailey who checked us in with such a great spirit. Our first time visiting and will recommend to all of our out of town guests
Experiencia positiva: Great experience. Although I don't know why I expected more. But it's still a really cool place to go with the family. We went to a boat ride, which cost less than $60 for 2 people. They have a café inside. Water is around 5 dollars. A place where you have to go at least once
Experiencia fantástica: Had a great time, didn't see a lot on the boat tour, but still worth it! Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area, especially if you're into Marine life, and / or have kids!
Experiencia fantástica: My daughter and started coming to the aquarium fifteen years ago. We have done just about every experience with our latest being painting with a dolphin and time with the baby kangaroos. My daughter’s favorite experience was many years ago as a trainer for a day. She also attended camp for several years. I recently bought a house in Dunedin and can’t wait to put my membership to more use. Each time here has been such an incredible memory and magical for us. The aquarium’s mission and aid to the animals is not only incredible, but their education to the community is so impactful. Thank you CMA for all the wonderful memories and look forward to many more!
Experiencia fantástica: My visit to CMA was an absolutely wonderful experience. Me and my husband decided last minute to do the VIP dolphin experience. While waiting for that we went through the whole aquarium and all the tanks were clean and animals appeared happy and living their best lives. Seeing all the Winter memorial stuff was a bit emotional, but the impact of her story is very real to everyone who visits. I had a very memorable encounter with Hope while observing the dolphins habitats and I almost cried from pure happiness. The VIP experience is an amazing experience and all the staff involved were very friendly and knowledgeable about all the dolphins. I wish I could’ve spent more time with each dolphin. I could’ve probably stayed there all day just watching the dolphins. Photos are very pricey, but pretty good quality.
Experiencia fantástica: Great place! There's so much to see there. We took the behind the scenes tour last year, and fed the stingrays this year. Definitely looking forward to visiting again next year
Experiencia positiva: Decent museum. Really not a whole lot of animals to see. Get the discounted tickets online for the best value.
Experiencia negativa: Very disappointed in our visit today. Almost $90 for 2 people to walk through and little to no actual aquarium. The dolphins are fun to watch swim around and there are a few turtles but overall very disappointed as we walked through everything in under 45 minutes. Not an aquarium. This is basically just a rehab center that you can walk through with a few activities for little kids.
Experiencia fantástica: THIS IS NOT A FORMAL AQUARIUM IT IS PRIMARILY FOR MARINE RESCUE!!! Made popular from the movie "Dolphin Tale" (and "Dolphin Tale 2"), the Clearwater Aquarium is awesome, for those going to better understand Marine Rescue and be able to get more information on it. We went for our son who wants to become a Marine Biologist. 100% WORTH IT FOR US! We took a behind the scenes tour and got to see quite a bit more of the facility. We also got way more information than just walking around will get you. Note that the facility isn't laid out 'well', but that's because it started as a waste water treatment plant, yep. Then they added on over time, then expanded when it became popular thanks to "Dolphin Tale". They have more and more displays coming in, but they are about HELPING AND RELEASING than being an "aquarium". Yes, they have permanent residents, but that is only because those residents can never survive on their own in the wild (Dolphins, some sharks, LOTS of sea turtles, etc.). They do have some tanks for fish, but not many. Some people complain about the cost, but these places cost a TON of money to operate, most of the people are volunteers. After the Helene and Milton came through they were forced to lay-off 50 employees. Helene pushed 4'+ of water into the lower levels, decimating the hospital area and other places. They are STILL recovering from that as of LATE March 2025. We spent over 5 hours there, my son was just loving everything there. He was able to ask questions of the staff, volunteers and such. On one tour he happened to ask the "right" question and they allowed him to get to see the last prosthetic that Winter wore before she passed away. The staff was amazing, and answered all kinds of questions, let us get pictures of him with it, and such. Again, NOT your standard aquarium. If you want that, head to Tampa and go to the Cruise docks and go to the Florida Aquarium there. If you want to support marine life rescue and education, learn something about all of that, then go here. Best? Go to both places!
Experiencia fantástica: MARCH 2025: You wouldn't normally expect to see a kangaroo at an aquarium, but when that place is Clearwater Marine Aquarium you do! What a fantastic place. It is truly like a second home for us now. We love the employees, atmosphere, and of course the marine and other animals we get to see! They team with Amazing Animals Inc. near Orlando to bring these beautiful creatures for us to experience. Keep it up CMA! We love ya! APRIL 2024: You can feel the love here - feel the love that the employees provide for these lovable creatures from God. We have been several times, and today we fed the turtles. Just puts huge smiles on our faces each time. The employees couldn't be better - seriously.
Hello TJ. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're glad to hear that you had a great visit and that our staff members played a role in that! We look forward to welcoming you back in the future!
Experiencia negativa: Don’t waste your money! There is not much to see at all for the price. Only were there for a half hour, paid over $80 plus $15 to park. Half of it was under construction. Also had stroller and the elevators were out of order in the parking garage. Don’t waste your time!!! Was going to ask for my money back on the way out.
Experiencia positiva: The dolphins were great and such a cool story. They have different exhibits than any aquarium I’ve seen before (like seeing the otters and turtle from above). But it is pricy for a small aquarium with $15parking on top of admission. The animal care exhibit is neat but nothing was happening at it during our visit so it fell flat.
Experiencia negativa: A little pricey but I thought it was worth it when considering they are a rehabilitation center. Unfortunately, I won't return considering the lack of security. My family and I witnessed an employee getting yelled at and insulted by an aggressive group of people and security didn't intervene after I heard the employee called them. We stayed around to make sure it wouldn't escalate but do think that lack of security is a concern considering what could potentially happen. Made me feel uneasy knowing my kids once came here on a school trip.
Experiencia fantástica: We enjoyed our visit! The photos were fun, tons on educational materials. We'll cared for animals.
Experiencia negativa: We used to really enjoy going here 10 years ago. They used to do a great deal for the military. Today it just felt like a regular Orlando type trap and they wanted a whole bunch of money for tickets. We gladly declined.
Experiencia negativa: We’ve visited this aquarium several times, and while it’s always been decent, our most recent experience was disappointing, particularly when it came to the lunch service. We decided to grab a bite at the aquarium café, and that’s where things went south. The girl at the counter (black hair, nose piercing) took our order, and we sat down to wait. When our food finally arrived, it was the wrong order. The hamburger was delivered to the wrong table first, and when it was brought over to us, it was clearly taken off another table. We politely mentioned that we didn’t feel comfortable accepting food that had been served to someone else, and the employee responded by saying, “They didn’t touch it.” We pointed out that we had no way of knowing that for sure, and she insisted that she had “seen” it, which didn’t reassure us. When we requested a fresh burger, she became noticeably rude and gave us an attitude. Eventually, we were refunded, but honestly, we would have much preferred not to deal with the unpleasant attitude. We hope this is an isolated incident, but it definitely impacted our experience. The aquarium itself is mediocre, but the customer service could use a lot of improvement. It’s clear that customer service isn’t for everyone, and we hope the aquarium can find staff who enjoy working with the public and can provide a more pleasant experience. This particular visit really left us disappointed.
Experiencia fantástica: A must do if you are an animal lover! The rescue information and stories they provide are so educational and inspiring. There is plenty to look at and we found the price great since it funds the animals and rescue efforts. The staff were so friendly and passionate. The animals are well cared for and the facility was spotless. We spent 3 hours there with a family of all ages.
Experiencia fantástica: Staff was very friendly. LOVED GETTING TO PET THE STINGRAYS. Otters were really cute. So much information about wildlife rescue and conservation. There was a boat tour as well, but I didn't go on it so I can't comment. Not a huge aquarium, but definitely a good way to spend an hour or two.
Experiencia positiva: For 5 adults, the ticket price was about $275.00 and that included 2 senior rates. The sound system around the dolphin exhibit echoed so understanding the speaker was tough. Some areas were closed off to visitors which limited what we could see. We hadn’t been there since the renovations and perhaps we were expecting too much. We realize it’s a research and recovery facility and that may explain the lack of brightness as you walk to the different exhibits. We were there in a weekday so that may explain why there weren’t many volunteer staff there. We left feeling disappointed. That all said, the staff is to be commended for the incredible work they do. That part of the facility cannot be denied.
Experiencia fantástica: Visited with Tampa CityPass. So easy to set up reservation, crowds were minimal, and loved that ticket prices go directly to helping rescue marine life. Highly recommend. Movies on the top floor I nice way to relax a bit after walking through all the exhibits.
Experiencia positiva: We were visiting from out of town. And visited Clearwater, the gulf, and the aquarium. Nice aquarium, got photos, and our kid had a great time.
Experiencia positiva: We had a nice outing and decided on this aquarium since it was nearby. However, there was not too much to see for the price. It is much smaller than the aquarium on the other side of town. Easy to navigate, and we were able to see a handful of dolphins, sharks, and pelicans. Nice for a family trip with smaller kids.
Experiencia positiva: We had a great time. The only reason I’m giving 4 starts is because I think it’s a tad overpriced. The dolphins were very active. The staff were extremely welcoming and informative. Our daughter even decided to feed the sting rays!
Experiencia fantástica: The entire staff there does an outstanding job with the conservation and protection of the marine wildlife. The boat tours are amazing and informative, and the aquarium itself very informative. Can't wait to be back!
Experiencia positiva: The Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Clearwater, Florida was where the movie Dolphin Tale was filmed. It was about an injured Dolphin named Winter. She was rescued and lost her tail and an artifical tail was made to help her swim. She became popular and famous and I am sorry I didn't get to visit there to see her while she was alive but, we enjoyed the aquarium and are glad we went to visit.
Experiencia fantástica: This place is great for kids and adults to see all these animals and the story behind them. A place to go for sure if you are in the clearwater area.
Experiencia fantástica: To watch Dolphins up close is a dream. Lovely family place to visit, good here is good but a bit pricy as usual. Lots to see such as Sea Turtles, Boa, Tarantula Spider, Mantas, and more!
Experiencia fantástica: A must do experience in Clearwater! From feeding the stingrays to the Florida room and of course Dolphin shows, the whole family will remember & have fun, plus it’s such a great learning opportunity as you’ll get to learn about their conservation efforts. Love that they have local f&b vendors onsite too! The Kawha coffee was great. Can’t wait to come back!
Experiencia fantástica: Our second time at the aquarium. The weekday was nice because there was no crowd. What distinguishes this aquarium from the others, for me, is their commitment to dealing with animals that had been injured, and their volunteers and staff, who know the animals so well. We'll go back more often now.
Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I took his daughter and Grandkids, we had so much fun. Our Granddaughter was a dolphin whisper, I swear. The dolphins were swarming her and posed for pics with us, it was awesome. I love that the have windows for the operating rooms and you can walk around and look at the hospital there. The staff was great, and we loved feeding the Stingrays (must do). Great experience .
Experiencia negativa: Expected aquarium but was very disappointed. It's a sea animal rehab but all you saw were empty rooms. A few dolphins, turtles & otters but not worth the price.
Experiencia fantástica: Absolutely amazing! A must see when in Clearwater, Florida. The facility is well maintained and the Marine life are treated like royalty. The Aquarium staff and volunteers are really amazing, informative, friendly and helpful! Jody the gave us the Behind the Scenes tour and did an amazing job! #D-LOrecommended
Experiencia fantástica: Such a wonderful place! They take such good care of all the residents, and the volunteers and employees were very knowledgeable about all of the animals.

Experiencia fantástica: This is an awesone space to enjoy aquatic animals that are being rehabilitated. Come play with the dolphins who love performing for you! Catch the Aqua Lanterns exhibit at night before Feb 2nd... it is beautiful and inspired ✨️

Experiencia fantástica: We had a wonderful time seeing all the animals and playing games. French fries were delicious
Experiencia fantástica: Really enjoyed the venue will be a lot earlier next time! There was confusion getting to the right floor so I was only 15 minutes early and missed my seats! Next time will be an hour early! Great show, intimate venue!
Hi Gigi! Thank you for taking the time to write about your visit to Clearwater Marine Aquarium. We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the show! We appreciate your feedback and look forward to welcoming you back in the future!
Experiencia fantástica: Great concert. Lovely atmosphere. Talented bunch. Wish the sound was louder, no microphone was used, but other than that, we enjoyed the intimate setting.
Experiencia fantástica: Awesome experience.. only really took us 2 hours to see everything but the experience was great. My son had an amazing time seeing the close views of the dolphins, turtles, otters, fish, and shark. The dolphins were fun to watch as they were playful and interactive with the guests. Was a spacious place so you can really enjoy each spot as there wasn’t an immense amount of people. They offer food, and a gift shop. There’s also a cinema on the top floor which we didn’t bother seeing but that might intrigue some. Great for kids as they offer educational places all throughout. It’s nice to see attention to the marine wildlife life that’s injured and cared for.
