Experiencia fantástica: While stranded in the area due to a car breakdown, I decided to visit the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) and was pleasantly surprised! The sheer number of penguins nesting right now is a highlight—such a positive sign for conservation. The staff were friendly, eagerly answering questions and sharing insights about the animals. The variety of attractions is impressive: from bees crafting hives behind glass to playful otters and a mesmerizing tunnel where sharks and sea life swim overhead. There are plenty of spots to grab a snack or meal, making it easy to spend hours here. I noticed some construction underway, but it’s safely barricaded and didn’t detract from the experience. The new addition—a massive coral reef exhibit—looks like it’ll be incredible!I’ll definitely return to this gem, which is hard to miss thanks to its iconic arch from a U2 concert. A great outing for families or anyone curious about wildlife!

Experiencia positiva: I have always loved the aquarium. Today was frustrating, as there were many groups of hyper children. They often pushed past people, bumped into people and many were exceedingly loud. I love kids, but most people that were there displayed no manners. It was unfortunate, but we will be back again.

Experiencia fantástica: Such a fun and well run aquarium! I go with my baby often!! I think the annual pass is well worth it!!

Experiencia positiva: Great for the family, there are several areas themed around continents and regions including the deep ocean and Arctic regions. My only concern is the stairway in the main lobby is very wide and edged in metal. So any falls there are likely to be dangerous.

Experiencia fantástica: Went for a double date, and it was lots of fun(: we missed the otters and the leopard, but still a good experience

Experiencia fantástica: Had a great time with my wife, our daughter and her boyfriend. Loved all the exhibits and learned many new things. Highly recommended for people of all ages.

Experiencia positiva: Love going to the Aquarium it's always a good time for the whole family. I was disappointed that we didn't get to actually see any of the otters but. It's fun picking what exhibit to check out first. We did the virtual reality experience of the Amazon it was awesome very entertaining! Gift shop is a little pricey but I'm sure some of the money goes towards keeping up with the animals and their expenses!

Experiencia fantástica: Great place to bring kids, yet entertain for all ages too. This aquarium has a great variety of animals, some which are not usually found at your average aquarium such as a leopard or a sloth. They are continually improving their amenities and expanding which helps me be inclined to keep my membership with them. One of my favorite parts to this aquarium is the kids playground are inside away from the heat or cold, which also has a lounging area for the adults. Very convenient and access is included with a membership. I’d say one of my only complaints about this aquarium is the price of admission seems rather steep if you do not have an annual membership. If you are a local, I’d suggest buying the membership your first time to save money in the long run.

Experiencia fantástica: Huge place with tons of exhibits and sea creatures! The outside playground was awesome, as well. I would recommend bringing a packed lunch if you have littles because the cafe items are WAY overpriced.

Experiencia fantástica: Some things are still under construction, but that did not take away from the fun that was there to be had. I particularly enjoyed the penguin exhibit. They had four new Macaroni penguins who were so sweet. One of the workers (I am so sorry I forget her name) was particularly lovely and incredibly knowledgeable. She helped us pick out the one named Loki, as he shares a birthday with my boyfriend. She also took a picture of us with him in the background haha! It was a good experience all around.

Experiencia fantástica: We love going here! This is our third year to have a membership for the family. Our kids just run and run to see each exhibit and love being able to pet snakes, play games and interact with sea life!

Lisa Skeen 3 months ago

Experiencia fantástica: We love visiting and enjoy walking through all the exhibits. It took us about 2 hours to walk the whole thing. My kids loved all the animals and sea life❤️ we liked the indoor playground on the 2nd level. It allowed my kids to run around and release some energy from sitting in a stroller most of the time.

Experiencia positiva: We love visiting the Loveland Living Planet Aquarium! The size is perfect — big enough to have a wide variety of exhibits, but small enough that you can see everything in one visit without feeling overwhelmed. My kids (ages 11, 9, and 4) all have a great time every time we go. There’s something for every age, which makes it a great family activity. We haven’t tried the food or coffee bar since we usually bring our own lunch, but having that option is nice. The membership has definitely paid for itself with how often we visit. Do be careful, the gift shop is a bit pricey. Highly recommend for families!

Experiencia positiva: We loved the exhibits. My favorite was the penguins, and my son loved the sharks. Actually, it's impossible to pick a favorite section because they're all fun and interesting. I can't wait to go back.

Experiencia fantástica: We’ve passed by before, this last trip we took the time to go to the aquarium. It was good!

Kali Moon 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: It’s a good place to try once but I would not return a second time. My favorite part was being able to touch the sea stars and watching the penguins being fed. The aquarium is a little pricey for how small it actually is. When I was there half of it was close, so perhaps it would have been worth it if I could have seen all of it. Overall, it’s a nice place to visit at least once.

Joshua Ellis 3 months ago

Experiencia fantástica: 2nd time here and this time we brought our little dude. He seemed to love it. Great place to bring the kids. Prices were fair for admission. Probably better to get the season passes in the future. The gift shop is a little pricey. We brought our own lunch. They are still under construction for the additional building but something to look forward to next time.

Experiencia fantástica: If you have ebt look up museums for all. Fantastic program. Got to visit the aquarium for $2/person up to 4 people total. All the staff was extremely kind and understanding of my disability. Most of it is wheelchair friendly. If you cannot handle ramps it makes a few places a little difficult, but it's not too bad if you start at the top for the penguins and South America. There are little areas where it flattens out, so you can slow down if you're going down the ramps. Great experience both times I've gone.

Experiencia fantástica: Membership is totally worth it. We’ve had a family membership for years. Great place to take the kids and stay for hours. Cafeteria has good options for kids and adults. We love the animal exhibits, indoor play place and outdoor playground.

Experiencia negativa: Deceptive ticket pricing on their website. You click on "tickets" and it takes you to a page that have prices upwards of $10 cheaper than they actually are. Turns out that they are advanced purchase pricing, but this is not clear and takes some reading into. In conjunction with prices, it is definitely NOT worth the fee of entry. Once all of their other buildings and exhibits are finished, then it might be worth it, but not yet. $130 for a young family of 5 is extortion. Lastly, hours of operation are nonsensical. Kick everyone out at 6:00 on a Saturday? They're missing out on 3 full hours of extra income.

Experiencia fantástica: Very well organized and beautifully presented. I was invited to birthday party at one of the Tiki room. It was great. Clean room, staff are helpful. Check out the garden outside, too. It is so beautiful and peaceful. I went on Saturday, so it was busy, but I got to see an Otter race with a kid in front of tank. After 5 pm, is the best time to see Sloth moving, clouded leopard awake.

Experiencia fantástica: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing Experience Every Time! We had such a fun time at the Living Planet Aquarium! It’s always a hit with our kids (ages 6–11), and this visit was no exception. There’s so much to see and learn! tons of great information throughout the exhibits, and everything is super engaging for kids and adults alike. The shark tunnel was definitely a highlight!! it never gets old walking through and seeing those huge creatures swimming overhead! We’ve been a few times now, and it still doesn’t disappoint. Every visit feels like a new adventure. Highly recommend for families looking for something educational and exciting!

Experiencia negativa: A warning for people who want to go here, My family of five was here about 6 days ago, the day after my almost two year old got a fever and each day after that one by one all five of us got sick, we had fevers, body aches, sore throats, bad coughs that are lingering. One of the worst colds I've had, were still trying to get the flem out of our lungs, my husband thinks it came from breathing in the hot humidity section of the place. We have mixed feelings about this place now.

Rainie Schlichtmann 3 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Despite being under some construction, the layout of this aquarium is excellent. There's a great flow between well designed exhibits. I appreciate that there are creatures other than fish, as well. The 4D shark video wasn't 4D from what I could tell (and we made sure not to sit in the seats which specifically did not have the effects). The price was also a little high at almost $30 per person, but we were able to spend a few hours here so it was decent value. It might not be my first option for activity, but it would make a great rainy day or cold day indoor activity. Buying tickets in advance enabled us to skip a small line that had formed to purchase tickets, we arrived in the early afternoon.

Experiencia fantástica: LOVE THIS PLACE!! The annual pass is super affordable which we really appreciate because kids need resources like this to play and learn! We also LOVEEE the outdoor spaces for picnics and playing in nice weather. Oh, And with a membership you have unlimited access to the huge indoor play jungle that is fun and safe for any age! Game changer in the winter when it’s too cold to go to the park. Highly recommend the annual pass if you live semi-close. It’s basically the same price as coming twice but it’s for the whole year!

Experiencia fantástica: What a great aquarium! It was a bit confusing to navigate and wild school children running unsupervised did not help (I mean wild, too. I'm a former teacher of 30+ years and could not wrap my head around the teachers or volunteers' inability and in some blatant cases, unwillingness to manage the students. When the school tours exited the building, the volume went done 90%. That is not an exaggeration. I was audibly noticeable.) The workers, stationed at different areas were excellent with the student's rowdiness and did their interactive jobs well. The aquarium itself is the cleanest I've ever seen! The glass was clean and recleaned once the school's vacated. I spent a long time in the Rain Forest, it was well done. I even felt compelled to two finger touch an urchin! I viewed knew to me species, so that was great, too. The film on sharks was excellent and included in the admission. I enjoyed a reasonably priced and sized pretzel dog and bag of chips. There are several themed sections where children can run around and play on equipment. There are other areas outside I did not see because it was raining by the time I was finished inside. It is also wheelchair accessible. This is a great place, for all ages.

Experiencia fantástica: We had a lot of fun! The staff was friendly and excited to talk about the animals they love. One pointed out a cool fish I totally missed called a Grunt Sculpin who looks like a barnacle to hide in plain site. Don't miss seeing this fish you'll be a better person for it. Cafe had yummy coffee that was kinda expensive but I really needed caffeine so no regrets.

Experiencia positiva: I really enjoyed my first visit to this aquarium in February. So much that I bought an annual pasd. There were minimal crowds which was ideal with a toddler. Unfortunately the last 2 visits have had large crowds with school trips. It's still fun to visit, but after about an hour in ready to go due to the amount of people.

Kelly Keel 4 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Getting better in some aspects but still not what it used to be. I wish they would spend some money maintaining what they have instead of building so much new to not maintain. The grass is blah....could get some good landscapers in to actually fix it. And let's be honest the rain forest still feels more like a desert as they have not kept the foliage up since they opened. The plants look like my houseplants and I have no green thumb. When they opened it was amazing and full. Full of critters and birds. Now it is a typical zoo with dead dying plants and animals in cages. But hey they can afford to expand just not maintain. That being said we are still annual pass holders for more than 10 years.

Experiencia fantástica: I had my whole family and it was a really cool experience. We brought the kiddo who is one even has a fun time. The grandparents had a hard time walking but they had plenty of sitting areas for them to take a break. They don’t have any wheelchairs to borrow but over all super nice and clean.

Experiencia fantástica: The Aquarium is worth the visit, all the animals were out and about today. The Asia leopard lounging around and the otters are our favorite. The new penguins zooming underwater were a thrill to watch the kids watch. We appreciated the quality service at the café from Eric Andre, not the comedian though just as hilarious. Recommend enjoying the delicious pretzels, birria ramen and steak nachos. We had a great time even though rain nixed our playground plans. Still, all the aquarium’s magic made it a perfect indoor day.

Experiencia positiva: It was super expensive almost 200 $ to get 4 of the grandkids, my daughter and my sister in it was my sister's birthday and she loves penguins so I thought this would be a great choice for her I couldn't get a penguin experience for her so if you want something cool definitely plan far ahead so that was a bummer I would have been happy to spend so much money if it was worth it when we got inside but personally I think they need to give the animals larger habitats so many penguins in such a small space I felt really bad for them and the otters they had a couple cool things for the kids they can touch a starfish and stingray they had a small tunnel that's completely surrounded by water that was cool still small though compared to other states Nebraska Knicks our butts for a aquarium but overall drove over an hour for a so so experience and the food is as overpriced as everything else 14 $ for a hotdog no thank you probably won't go back

Valeria 4 months ago

Experiencia positiva: Its an AMAZING place to go to! There was more people than we thought there would be but we still enjoyed it! I was sad given they changed the menu at the café and got rid of the icecream.. there used to be more fresh options. Overall though its very family friendly and all the workers are great!

Phebe Rose 4 months ago

Experiencia positiva: The aquarium is one of the best places to visit in Utah! There are so many fun animals and plants. However, the line to buy tickets took so long. If you can, just buy tickets online. I ended up buying tickets online while in the line because it was taking way too long. I went on a Friday evening and only had 1.5 hours till it closed. It was $28 a person which is way too expensive especially if it’s going to close in less than two hours. I don’t think I will visit for at least another year because of the price. It’s way too much money for a short busy experience.

Curtis 5 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Not a great experience overall. The entrance to the actual aquarium is a plywood tunnel due to construction. I understand they’re expanding the building, so this can be forgiven. However, the aquarium as a whole was a disappointment. I was expecting more fish and animals. I left wishing we had seen more. The absolute worst part though was the other guests. Parents were letting their children run free, splashing water at the stingray pool. Children were pushing their way to the viewing windows, blocking our view. I saw very few staff throughout the aquarium, and the ones I did see did nothing to mitigate the chaos. They just let the children run free. People were also sleeping on the floor of the viewing areas, especially in the shark area. Guests were stopping in the middle of the shark tunnel, preventing others from walking through. The guests at the aquarium were acting more animalistic than the fish/animals in the exhibits. I will not be returning with my family.

Experiencia positiva: People can't park. They have a big parking lot and you will find numerous vehicles that park so bad you can't park next to them. This place is expensive ($102- 2 Adults 2 kids 12-under for basic entry), but it's pretty enjoyable. We go maybe once a year and that is plenty for us. I love how they made South America feel a little like the actual place. I wish they'd do that to every area that you walk through just to give it a bit more of a flare when going through each one. Their ride they offer with the VR headset is also pretty fun for an extra cost. My kids and I personally love touching the starfish and stingrays. If you've never gone I recommend going at least once because it is very unique and fun to learn about the different plants/animals.

Rachel Brower 5 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Honestly this aquarium was a bit of a let down. We had to walk through the whole thing just to get to the sharks and the one shark tank with minimal info was a bit underwhelming. We thought this aquarium was going to have much more than it did, for $25pp. The otters and the penguins were the best exhibits, by far. I'd say the shark exhibit was third place. We liked that they had signs that had calls to action, so people can learn about small ways they can make the planet a healthier happier place for everyone. Parking is free and there is a large lot. Expect that there will be many children running everywhere when you arrive, and it will be difficult to see different exhibits sometimes.

Niki Challis 5 months ago

Experiencia positiva: The aquarium itself is great. We’ve been here numerous times, and also did a penguin encounter where you feed them. It was a lot of fun. However - if you’d like to experience hell, come during school break or on a busy weekend. The amount of screeching kids is next level. It was absolutely awful and I’m not sure they limit amount of people. You couldn’t even get to the exhibits.

Experiencia fantástica: One of the best aquariums I’ve visited. The facility is clean and spacious enough for crowds. There are a lot of exhibits and you can easily spend 2-3 hours here. I loved the rainforest exhibit and shark tunnel. The otters and penguins were fun to watch. There is so much to see here, it really is quite impressive.

James Zundel 5 months ago

Experiencia positiva: I've been to this Aquarium as a kid, and it's a really nice place to learn about ocean conservation efforts and the life in our oceans. The tickets are pricey, but not that bad compared to other places around and there's a lot of unregulated crowds in there. Overall, it's a good place where the fate of our sealife and our future generations depend on its message.

Savannah Hirschi Lines 5 months ago

Experiencia fantástica: I love visiting this aquarium! I've been multiple times and it's always so much fun. The shark exhibit is one of my absolute favorites as well as seeing the otters. We went in the morning when it was slow but a couple hours later it was a bit busy. Only downside is when animals aren't in their exhibit for maintenance, but that's to be expected.

Experiencia positiva: We went today from about 11-2. It honestly was super clean / awesome animal exhibits! I do wish we would have known that there was going to be school field trips though. We drove 2 hours to come and there was 3 buses out front (and 5 when we left). It was insanely packed with a bunch of kids and not enough adults. Loud, obnoxious, and overstimulating lol especially for my toddler.. (we reserved out tickets online so it would have been nice to have it flagged that it was a field trip day or something?) Overall, bathrooms were clean, staff were friendly, expensive food & gifts (per usual). A lot less people would have made it more enjoyable.. especially for a long drive to this place.

Experiencia fantástica: My group and of three had a lovely time. It was very busy, but we were there on a Saturday so it's to be expected. I would highly recommend getting your tickets ahead of time, we skipped the line with ours being pre bought.

Taylor Jolley 5 months ago

Experiencia negativa: Disgusting place, this aquarium makes millions on sales and donations, yet feed their animals synthetic garbage rather than a natural diet. What a cheap money making scheme. tortoises in captivity don't take that much to take care of but you're giving them calcium chews rather than the natural stuff they're supposed to eat. Literally you're feeding it romaine lettuce and the cheapest forms of food while you're raking in millions of dollars. I'm not against zoos aquariums or keeping animals in captivity if it's a small amount, but the quality of care is absolutely horrendous. Most of the sharks are lethargic, along with the fish half the animals are almost always asleep and they're not nocturnal animals. I guess when you start making millions on donors, raise prices by 100% (double), you start to not care about the animals anymore only the money that it brings in. Seriously disgusting, and you have an octopus one of the most intelligent creatures on Earth in a small micro enclosure. This place is disgusting. If you're going to keep animals and captivity at least have decently sized the containment or enclosures. There were almost 20 sea otters here last time I came, another testament too how terrible the quality of life and minimal amount of money they spend on the actual animals and enclosures. All they care about is revenue while hiding behind the facade of calling themselves a "non-profit". We will not be returning and I am not even a person against aquariums and zoos. I'm just against an organizations that create bad environments and conditions for their animals, especially because almost all of their Otters have died

Experiencia fantástica: A must-see! We had such a great time exploring and viewing all the exhibits. Next time, we'll have to allow more time for a movie. We spent almost 3 hours walking around seeing everything. The animals are unreal, and only a couple of animals remained hidden from sight. Loved seeing the otters play.

Experiencia fantástica: The Loveland Living Planet Aquarium in Draper, Utah, is an absolute gem for families, nature lovers, and anyone looking to be inspired by the wonders of the natural world. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're immersed in a vibrant, beautifully designed space that brings the planet’s ecosystems to life. Each exhibit feels thoughtfully curated, whether you're walking through the warm, lush rainforest with free-flying birds and tree-dwelling animals, or standing inches away from massive sharks and stingrays gliding through the Ocean Explorer tunnel. It’s not just a visit—it’s a journey through Earth’s most incredible habitats. What really makes this aquarium stand out is how engaging and interactive it is. You can touch starfish, get up close to playful penguins, and even watch otters tumble around in their water wonderland. It’s easy to see the care the staff put into the animals’ well-being and the educational experience for guests. Whether you're a child seeing sea creatures for the first time or an adult rekindling a sense of wonder, the aquarium leaves you feeling connected to the planet in a meaningful way. It’s a place you’ll want to come back to—full of awe, joy, and discovery.

Experiencia fantástica: It's a great aquarium! It was busy because there was a bunch of school busses doing field trips.

Experiencia fantástica: Having a season pass here has been worth it. My son eventually got board of the animals, but between the rope bridge and the coin swirl things and the elevator, he is still entertained and loves going there.

Experiencia fantástica: Even though the aquarium is expensive, they offer many things to see. Several exotic animals in the deep sea areas. The penguin exhibit and otter exhibit were hits with my family. It was also really cool to see all the jellyfish and octopus available. The snack bar was really good and the pretzels were phenomenal! Like, I might come back just for the pretzels! This is a really fun thing to do when ever we come to Salt Lake and Provo!

Experiencia positiva: While visiting my family in Utah from California, we decided to check out an aquarium. It was a cool experience, but it was packed—probably because of a field trip. There were kids running around everywhere, which made it hard to get through some of the exhibits. If you’re planning to go, definitely book your tickets online to skip the long line. The outside was under renovation, so we didn’t get to see everything, which was a bit of a bummer. But the best part? I got to see my favorite sea animals—jellyfish and a turtle! Even with the crowds, I had a good time exploring with my family. If you go, try to pick a quieter time for a more chill experience.

Experiencia fantástica: Cool aquarium, unfortunately it is not world known, but that changes today. Taught the sharks pose 28 and definitely suggest the 2 touch pools and the sexy dance shrimp.

Experiencia fantástica: The displays are amazing! Crowds were amazing too. We went on a Saturday. Expect lines for every window!! But otherwise we loved all the animals and presentations.

Experiencia fantástica: Extremely busy, so I would recommend buying your admission well in advance to avoid the long wait times and being a snap member allows us to visit the museum for a reduced fee which is great for being a family.

Experiencia positiva: I've been there several times. Some days you see lots of animal activity. Some days you don't. Arrive right when they open to have the best chance to see the animals active.

Experiencia fantástica: This place is UNBELIEVABLE!! I never thought I would see so many beautiful animals for such a cheap price! They have many different sections of the aquarium and two stories. They have even had a play area for the kids to take a break! My favorite part was seeing the exotic frogs and other rare animals they had because you never know when they will become extinct. I will cherish these memories, thank you!!

Experiencia negativa: Went went here for a private event after hours, and all i can say is for the amount of money we paid for this, it SUCKED. We were to have a private dinner with alcohol served and be able to walk around the aquarium. Our dinner was 3 different stations crammed into an area big enough for 100 people, and there was closer to 250 people. Each station had a tiny plate with about a half ounce of meat with potatoes or grits, and they couldn't keep up with the demand at all. They ran out of food and alcohol both. Some people in our group didn't even get food. Then, a bunch of the exhibits were closed and lights off, I believe we were kept out of many areas as well. Overall, for $150 that each person paid, I'd say we got $50 in value and then hustled out like cattle. I was not impressed one bit with this place or the event they catered.

Experiencia fantástica: An incredible aquarium. It has a lot of ways for children to learn about and safely interact with sea animals. The biggest draw, in my opinion, is the underwater tunnel where you get to walk underneath sharks, sting rays, and other fish. The jungle experience is awesome as well. A fun mesh rope bridge that children and adults alike can walk across.

Experiencia fantástica: I'm very impressed with the layout of the aquarium. There is a natural flow to the exhibits that takes you through all the exhibits without having to think too hard about it and without having to constantly backtrack. And you never have to climb stairs, unless you want to. There are ramps from one exhibit to another. The workers are all so friendly and willing to answer questions and they constantly have little mini classes that you can join as you're wandering if you're interested. The signage makes it very easy to figure out what animals you're looking for and what they should look like and there are plenty of interactive exhibits besides the ones that are just for looking at. My preschooler loved it and did not want to leave even after 2+ hours.
