Experiencia fantástica: Nice aquarium. Lots of things to see. Shedd Aquarium is actively involved in coral reef rehabilitation and research, focusing on climate-resilient corals and restoration efforts, which is awesome!!! The aquarium is also part of museums for everyone.

Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely love this place!! The staff are very friendly and helpful! It’s wheelchair and stroller friendly. There is a great cafeteria with some gluten free options as well. You can definitely spend multiple hours here without getting bored!

Experiencia fantástica: Except the high admission fee everything else is just beautiful. There are lot of things to see and learn about different fish and reptiles. Kids would love it to interact with the sturgis, starfish and penguins. We had the beluga whale show when we visited the aquarium. It was so fun and exciting to see different animals playing and interacting with each other.

Experiencia fantástica: Very well maintained, lots of sea creatures to see, I would say plan for at least an hour and a half to be able to see and enjoy everything, I was with a toddler, so not much patience and had to rush after an hour max lol, the culmination for us were the sharks. Didn't "pet the fishes" as I was grossed out of the thought how many people put their hands in that water... I might have issues lol Didn't bought the pictures they made, since we make our own on a real background, overall it's a must see location in Chicago :)

Experiencia fantástica: It was an amazing experience. After a few years of living here finally decided to visit and loved it. Was definitely busy. Cafe was out of most food items too, didn’t realize there was a food court until I was leaving. Only real complaint was the amount of stairs and a lack of elevators. But it wasn’t a horrible issue for me.

Some areas are easy to miss because the map and signage isn't very clear. I like that they have quite a few stations where visitors can touch and interact with things. It was crowded, but still had plenty of space to move around. Find out when the animal sightings are for the beluga whales and the dolphins - fun shows to see!

Experiencia negativa: We had a great visit up until an employee decided to be hostile immediately upon seeing us. We had no previous interaction that could've explained his attitude. He repeated yelled for us to move our stroller out of the walkway. When I informed him it was literally against the wall, he said it was not (as he stood in the distance and we stood in line against the wall, the wheels touching the wall). His attitude completely overshadowed our experience, so much that we left and didn't purchase the pictures we were waiting in line for. Also didn't buy from the gift shop because we didn't want to deal with any more attitude from employees. Next time, we will be making the trip to the Indianapolis aquarium instead. This was not the family friendly atmosphere we were hoping to enjoy

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent educational and community engagement events. Staff are always kind and informative. One of my favorite places in the city. The penguin encounter was so fun and a memory I will treasure forever. Coming on a free day is fun, but prepared because the aquarium will be packed! The food court here has delicious food as well and a wonderful view of the city.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently visited Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, and I’ve got to say—it was an amazing experience. The building itself is beautiful, and the exhibits were super engaging. Here’s what stood out for me: • The Caribbean Reef was one of my favorites. Watching the diver swim around and feed the fish right in front of us was pretty awesome. • The Wild Reef section had sharks swimming right past you behind curved glass—felt like I was underwater with them. • The Oceanarium with beluga whales, sea otters, and dolphins was peaceful and fun. The dolphin show especially was a highlight. • I also really liked the Amazon Rising area—it was like stepping into a jungle with all the tropical fish, frogs, and even snakes. • If you’re visiting with kids, there are a ton of interactive zones like touching stingrays and a polar play area—they’ll love it. Couple things to keep in mind: • Some parts were under renovation, so a few exhibits weren’t open. It didn’t ruin the visit, but it’s good to know before you go. • Definitely book tickets online in advance—it gets busy, and lines can be long. • Honestly, it’s more exciting for kids and families, but even as an adult, I still enjoyed it a lot. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a few hours. I’d absolutely go back once everything’s fully open again. Solid 4 out of 5 stars from me.

Experiencia positiva: We visited the Shedd Aquarium today and really enjoyed our time! It was pretty crowded especially around the Wild Reef where the line was really long so we ended up skipping it. My daughter loved the Stingray Touch area, even thought we weren’t able to feed them, which was a little disappointing. The building itself is beautiful and has such a fun history. Alejandro and Luke were super helpful and took the time to tell us more about the aquarium’s story and that made our visit feel so much more more personal . It was a great visit overall, and I’d recommend this to anyone in Chicago

Experiencia fantástica: Good for making family memories. The line was long but was moving fast. Don't be late at whatever time you pick or you are going to miss the whale show. The aquarium is big so it's going to take 2-4 hours to see everything.

Experiencia fantástica: I just went yesterday with a friend for FREE #Illinois resident privileges. I havent been here in 4-5 yrs, but it is as beautiful as i remember it! Beautiful layout, e-maps (saves paper!), diverse fish, cool touchpads to learn more about each species. Friendly staff. I got to pet a sturgeon and a stingray!!

Experiencia positiva: I'll start by saying this is a pretty nice aquarium. But it comes with too many drawbacks for me to leave thinking it was worth the time and money I spent. There is a lot of good ocean life to see here and it's layed out well. The building is beautiful and the staff seem knowledgeable. That being said the cost is just way too much. It cost me $170 for tickets alone for my family of four. Parking on the street is scarce and fills up fast, and the recommended garage is a 10-15 minute walk, costs $32, and feels somewhat unsafe. So over $200 before we even walked in the door. Add food in the cafeteria and/or a movie and you're at or above $300. Whew. Though there is a lot of good ocean life to see there just isn't enough to fill much over 3-4 hours. In contrast we spent almost 7 hours at the Griffin science center for half the price and still didn't get to do everything we wanted. Overall it's a nice place but nowhere near worth the cost.

Experiencia fantástica: I am an aquarium aficionado (my fav being Monterey in Northern California) and the Shedd Aquarium honestly exceeded my expectations. The exhibits were very well grouped together and nicely displayed. Excellent variety of species - highlight were leafy seahorses which I did not expect to see in this part of the world! They do a good job of staggering their shows as well so you can catch as many during the time you’re there. Highly recommend the Beluga whale informative demonstration. Easily a half day activity (good to plan on a rainy day!) Buy your tickets online to avoid the wait !

Experiencia fantástica: Plan your day ahead. Reasonable price , clean, organized, busy, Great fun and adventures place for all ages. Very educational experience for everyone. Variety of sea creatures. Sharks, tropical fish, electric eels, turtles, dolphins, beluga whales, live corals, Amazon rainforest, and so much more. Dolphins show, seals show, penguins walks, with different schedule through Out the day. Outdoor stingrays touch exhibit. Live sea stars touch exhibit, Mini playgrounds, and submarine along with beluga whales observation / sharks (other sea species) are located on the lower level. There are so many species that we can learn, feel, observe, and respect. Great portion from their cafe, popcorn and snack stands are available with good prices. Limited valet parking and surcharge parking are available.

Experiencia fantástica: Was a absolutely perfect experience at the Shedd Aquarium. Make sure to buy your tickets early or use CityPASS (and reserve) as walk up tickets were sold out when we went. Also if you have the CityPASS you get the 4D experience for free which was cool! Would 100% recommend, i would estimate taking 4-5 hrs to explore it all.

Experiencia positiva: Going to the Shedd Aquarium is more than just seeing fish. For me, it was about thinking about how we fit into the amazing world of nature. It's a really big aquarium, one of the largest in the Western Hemisphere! Seeing so many different sea animals made me feel very small and thankful. We saw so much, from giant whale sharks and graceful stingrays to all sorts of fishes, both tiny (micro) and huge (macro). It wasn't just water creatures either; we also saw a tortoise, python snakes, and even glowing luminous fishes! Each animal showed how amazing nature is. You start to think about how these animals live in their homes. This makes you feel connected to all life on Earth. What I liked most was how well they take care of the animals. The homes for the animals felt like they were made to keep them happy. Watching the staff with the animals, whether feeding them or just watching them, showed how much we need to care for these living things. It makes you remember that we must be kind to all life. Plus, the dolphin shows are truly amazing, you get to see these smart animals up close! The Shedd also teaches you things, but not in a pushy way. It's not just about learning animal names. It's about understanding their part in nature, what troubles them, and what we can do to help. This idea of helping nature fits with my beliefs – that we should be good to the Earth and all its creatures. And when you get hungry, there are a few restaurants inside for good food and snacks, so you don't have to leave to grab a bite. But thinking about it, keeping wild animals in tanks can feel a bit strange. Even if it's for teaching people, some might wonder if it's right. Still, seeing a beluga whale up close or a smart sea otter can make people care about nature in a way that books or TV shows can't. In the end, my visit to the Shedd Aquarium showed me how we are all linked to nature. It was more than just tanks of fish; it was a living, breathing place that showed how wonderful and delicate life is. It made me feel more respect for our planet and want to help keep it safe.

Experiencia fantástica: On top of seeing dolphins, belugas, otters, mini crocs and more, I was also able to touch stingrays, sturgeons and starfish too! I highly recommend adding $5 for the 4D octopus experience. There’s also so many free animal shows/spotlights so check the schedule. The amphitheater is also well done - it even faces Lake Michigan. Of course if you go during the day on a weekday be warned there’s going to be tons of kids on field trips.

Experiencia positiva: A good aquarium but not great. Most serious issue is the confusing layout and lack of elevator access. You can find the elevators, but they’re not easy to get to If you have someone in a wheelchair or a stroller like we did, you have to walk farther and work harder to find an access to the elevators to see all the things you wanna see The exhibits are nice. The fish of course are amazing. The show doesn’t have enough seats for the number of tickets they’ve sold for that time. So unless you wanna go early and just wait, you’re not gonna see the shows. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn’t come back next year

Experiencia fantástica: I absolutely adored it here. I love fish, reptiles, and really every kind of animal and the Shedd aquarium does an amazing job of showing off their animals and making sure that they are all extremely well taken care of. All of the enclosures were very clean and they were all very appropriate for the animals that were contained in them. The tanks were all beautifully decorated, especially the smaller ones. The larger animals, such as the belugas and the dolphins, seemed very content and they seemed healthy as well which was pleasant to see. The only downside is that it gets VERY busy at certain points in the day. I was there for around 6 hours (you can certainly see everything in less time but I just adore being there) and right around 2 it gets BUSY. Other than a few hours though it's pretty quiet; especially if you come during a weekday rather than a weekend. I recommend this place to anyone who loves animals. Especially if you have kids!

Experiencia fantástica: Me and my bf went on a date here it was fun I love the shedd so much We unexpectedly came during feeding time so we witnessed a lot of funny moments while the fish ate (as seen in one of the pics eating a shrimp) it was fun I also captured a lot more funny moments, i really love it and it's aesthetically a beautiful place there's a variety of fish and sea life as well as I didn't even know til I saw but birds!! the sections are pretty and my fav was seeing jelly fish

Experiencia fantástica: Loved visiting this aquarium. The exhibits are amazing and there is so much to see. One of the staff stopped and talked to us while we were looking at an unusual fish. She was so knowledgeable and we learned so much. I highly recommend visiting if you are in Chicago. Be warned, however, it is not cheap. I was disappointed that so many shows were an additional cost. I understand it costs a lot to maintain the place, but it really hits the wallet by the time you leave.

Experiencia negativa: Look I don’t want to be all negative. But I do want to be honest. That being said, I expected this to be the most mouth dropping/breath taking experience. Sadly, it was not. In the movies and even some photos, it looks amazing. But when you are actually here…it’s honestly very boring.its maybe an hour and half to see everything-if that. That and it’s super busy and wayyy over priced for what you are actually getting. And I don’t say that lightly. As I don’t mind spending money for a good time. This just wasn’t it! If you want a great experience that will truly knock your socks off, plan a trip to the Omaha Zoo! It’s more affordable and so much more worth it-on ever level. Here is to hoping the Field Museum is better then this.

Experiencia fantástica: Tonight I got to feel a starfish underwater and touch great lakes sturgeon fish swimming under my finger tips! Beluga whales, dolphins, otters, seals, penguins, sharks and stingrays are all present. Great viewing areas and wonderful staff. Amphitheater shows overlooking lake Michigan are cool, plus view of the city skyline entering and exiting. Note that the line to the wild reef always looks long because you have to take an elevator down to see it. Spent three hours at the Shedd but could spend plenty more gazing into the many tanks in true fascination. Note, my visit was free IL resident Tuesday night after 5 p.m.. No entry wait and low crowds made experience easy.

My three year old is absolutely obsessed with sharks right now so I thought I’d take him on a trip down from Lansing, Michigan to the aquarium to see some sharks. We were not disappointed. We wanted to go straight to the sharks when we got there and met Craig working the door. He was so friendly and helpful, he heard my son say he wanted to ride the escalator so he took us up and walked us directly to the wild reef. The gift shop was full of cool things and we picked up some shark toys. I can’t wait to make it back later this summer and more when my little one calms down a little bit and can enjoy more of the exhibits.

Experiencia fantástica: my favourite aquarium i've ever been to!! the dolphin show was the coolest, and we absolutely loved the 4D movie!! def unlike anything we've ever experienced. and with the citypass, you can't beat the deal. lots of diverse wildlife and an awesome gift shop!! they even had three separate exhibits for petting animals: stingrays, sturgeons, and starfish!! even just the attention to detail in the architecture was cool to see. i would 100% recommend! make sure to book tickets ahead to avoid any lines—we were in the door and on our way to exhibits in seconds!!

Experiencia fantástica: This is truly a world renowned aquarium. Every experience and exhibition is unique and fun! Be sure to purchase tickets in advance and get event times when you arrive since most shows and events are popular and seats and space are limited. There are many options for food and snacks available. There is a lot to see and do, so plan to spend more than a few hours here. I can’t imagine being in Chicago and not visiting the Shedd. Absolutely worth the entrance fee. The views of the lake mixed with all the surroundings make this a great experience for anyone that visits.

There were numerous displays, but they seemed repetitive - and the shark exhibit was extremely lacking (not to mention the only access is via elevator which causes significant waits). Idk. Sure - i just had a nice time - but was it worth it? Nah probably not

Experiencia fantástica: This is a great aquarium! We did the beluga experience, which was phenomenal, but there are so many things to see and do. It looks overwhelming when you first go in, but you quickly figure things out and realize that some exhibits wind so you see both the entrance and the exit at the same time. All the fish, the penguins, the dolphins, the belugas, the otters are all fantastic, and there are lots of petting areas (sting rays, lake sturgeon, etc). It's one of the best aquariums I've been to.

Our guide, Steve, was so friendly and knowledgeable, and since we were a little early for our scheduled encounter he gave us a bit of a tour, and helpful suggestions about how we might plan our day to get the most out of it. 10/10 experience!

Experiencia fantástica: This aquarium is beautiful w lots of sea animals. They also have fun events for drinks and live music in the summer. The parking is by meter or an underground garage but it’s a little walk. By the water it’s very windy on some days so bring a jacket even in May. It’s cold! It was 50 degrees today 5/3/2025.

Experiencia positiva: That dolphin aquatics show was a definite highlight! We were thrilled to observe diverse marine life, including majestic Beluga whales native to the Arctic, the delicate and camouflaged Sea dragons found in Australian coastal waters, and the vibrant ecosystems of the wild reef. It was fascinating to see how they cultivate their own plankton, the foundation of many aquatic food webs. The interactive touch tanks were also incredible, offering a unique opportunity to feel the textures of sea stars and the surprisingly smooth skin of stingrays.

Experiencia negativa: I have no idea why this is a top attraction. I hate that reviews aren’t truthful or simply people have such low standards. This was absolutely one of the worst aquariums I’ve ever been to. It’s insanely boring, and not very clear to get around. It’s a beautiful building but that’s all it is, doesn’t seem like an actual aquarium. Definitely should not be suggested as a top attraction for the city pass. What a waste of money.

Experiencia positiva: Enjoyed my recent experience at the Shedd Aquarium. This aquarium visit was different as it was interactive. How? They offers animal spotlight events for Dolphins and Beluga whales . Not only this, was able to touch and feel the Starfish and the shark-shaped lake sturgeon fish . Overall, good for those who like to explore.

Experiencia positiva: I had an awesome time! I definitely enjoyed EVERYTHING. A bit crowded, but youll be able to see everything. My favorites were the belugas, penguins, sea otter and dolphins. Part of me felt a bit bad that they were here and not in their natural habitat, but I think that they are taken care of well. A lot of the species there are endangered and preyed upon a lot by humans, so I think is nice that a few could have an environment where they are at least safe and fed. Definitely enjoyed seeing the penguins hug eachother.

Experiencia fantástica: First visit today with our girls, and we had a great time! We would definitely recommend it as a great place to visit with kids, but be prepared — it’s not cheap. Make sure to buy tickets in advance and note that they use timed admissions. There are lots of great exhibits, and with our family (including a 5- and 3-year-old), it took about three hours to explore. One thing to know if you're familiar with other aquariums: this one isn’t a linear path. You can choose your own adventure, so be sure to grab a map!

Experiencia fantástica: The Aquarium was amazing. Get an early ticket so you have plenty of time. We did the 4D Shark mvoe about 2 hours into our time there and it was a perfect break. Beautiful exhibits, friendly staff and an easy to navigate layout. The whales and baby jellyfish were amazing.

Experiencia fantástica: The Shedd Aquarium is the best aquarium ever! It has levels of attractions from sharks and snakes to turtles and frogs! It’s such a fun place to learn about the Earths water creatures, and the staff are so knowledgeable and kind. Upon entry into the aquarium, there are lockers for the guests to rent so they don’t have to carry all their stuff around! It was around $8 for the entire day which was great! We were happy we didn’t have to lug around our winter coats. The gift shop is near the entrance and it has so many fun things to offer! Around every corner there’s something amazing to spot. The jelly fish and sharks are some of our favorites! We enjoyed our time at the Shedd Aquarium, and can’t wait to return!

Experiencia fantástica: Haven’t been to The Shedd Aquarium since 2012, where my high school held our prom… So this felt like traveling back in time! There’s so many creatures to see here, from fish to ducks… No shortage of stingrays either. I would definitely recommend booking in advance! 2.5+ hours is a good amount of time to spend here, less than that and you will feel a bit rushed trying to see it all. FYI -Famous tunnel area is under renovation.

Experiencia fantástica: You really got to love Shedd Aquarium. One of the best museums in Chicago, and everywhere else really. My favorite part was seeing the penguins, especially because of the movie Happy Feet. Great experience, great to bring the family and friends. There are also several areas where you can touch fish and starfish.

Experiencia fantástica: I got our tickets online, which I definitely recommend. We walked right in, no waiting. It was a little crowded but we still got to see everything and the dolphin show was great! My son also got to “pet” sturgeons and starfish. All very educational AND fun. Great for little ones and older kids.

Experiencia fantástica: So, I want to give a shout out to several people. I made a mistake in scheduling an experience and came in on the wrong day. We were only in the city for a week so we wouldn't have made the experience. Jamia in the security office realized my mistake and really went above and beyond to help fix it. Because there are no refunds, she and a few more people at admissions (Kim and Lauren) were able to switch our experience to the Must See Tour later on in the day! Already an amazing team and super helpful! Once we came back for the tour, our Tour Guide, Aloha, was super passionate and knowledgeable about the entire aquarium! It really made the day shine even brighter! Thank you so much to the entire team!!

Experiencia positiva: Visited on a Friday morning and there was a lot of people, but not overly crowded that you couldn’t see any of their exhibits if you really wanted to. There’s a lot of construction around the aquarium grounds so there’s a lot of diversion to get to the main entrance. They had a 4D movie experience that came with the CityPass. The movies are about 10min or so. The theatre has a good amount of capacity. The squirting water is a bit gimmicky in my opinion and doesn’t exactly match what’s going on on the screen. I like the exhibits where staff are providing some education and awareness around the animals. There are some scheduled shows throughout the day to check out. There are also opportunities to touch some of the animals. In one area, you were able to pet some sturgeon. In another area you were able to touch starfish and barnacles. They have a reef section on the Lower Level 2. They set this up so you have to take a picture and then offer it to you to buy on your way out - something like $25 for one digital and printed copy of some photoshopped images of your group with some reefs in the background. $30 for 4. Way overpriced in my opinion. I also really don’t like having to line up to get into this area of the aquarium for them to force you through this picture buying thing. We spent a good three hours here walking around to see every section, seeing a couple of the shows, as well as the 4D movie. Pretty good experience overall and worth checking out if it’s your first time here.

Experiencia fantástica: We had such a wonderful time at Shedd Aquarium! Our 2-year-old absolutely loved it—there was so much to see and explore. From the vibrant fish to the playful otters, every exhibit kept her completely engaged. The highlight of our visit was definitely the dolphin show—it was amazing to see how well-trained and graceful the dolphins were, and our little one couldn’t stop clapping and smiling the whole time. The staff was friendly, and the space was clean and stroller-friendly, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for families with young kids—it’s such a magical experience!

Experiencia positiva: It was cool, but way too busy. It was not worth the money. It was too stressful. Definitely go to the natural history museum first to make sure you see all of that as it has more value for the money. It's good that they have timed entry, but it still seems ineffective. I think they should still limit entry by counting entries/exits.

Experiencia fantástica: Our family had 2 teenagers and we all really enjoyed the shedd aquarium from the beluga, to the dolphin show, and the 4D shark experience. We didn't get to see the wild reef as the line was really long. And there were tons of kids on school field trips, so have patience.

Experiencia positiva: I love the aquarium!! ok I love the animals, I really like the animal spotlight shows( we saw the beluga whale one!) it’s nicely organized but it also lowk didn’t take us that long to go through everything. My favorite animals were the penguins and the sharks. But I love all fish. Just beware that there are a lot of parents and kids just running everywhere. The place is also more kid-targeted than when I was younger so be mindful of the audience that will be around you if you get annoyed by constant screaming and crying. Also my bowels were going CRAZY after the food. But I LOVE THE AQUARIUM!!! I LOVE THE ANIMALS!!!

Experiencia positiva: The staff ehh. I'm confused why my purse was asked to be open and no one else in front of me especially when I had took out anything even sharp or electronic before I went in. One grown ass man bumped my baby and hit her head he is lucky I couldn't catch him . Other than that the kids enjoyed. Also with the pictures I was mislead that if I buy for $30 I get one print and 4 digital but the digitals are watermarked and have to be purchased so your paying an extra $5 just to see the digital pictures to purchased is not actually included in the 30 like he said. The animals were exciting specifically seeing the dolphins, sharks and whales, and getting to touch the fish.

Experiencia positiva: We enjoyed the aquarium for the most part and understand that there are peak times and not peak times. I assumed with times tickets, the crowd would be better, but it unfortunately was not. I recommend listening to their peak times. Especially if you have a stroller. We waited 20 minutes to be able to get on the elevator. My children did enjoy the experience.

Experiencia fantástica: The Shedd aquarium is the granddaddy of public aquariums in the United States. They have been doing extensive remodeling lately, to keep up with the competition from other, newer aquariums around the country. Sadly, the giant octogon aquarium with the diver feeding the fish is gone! Replaced by two smaller kidney shaped aquariums. Hopefully, they reinstall the classic octogon somewhere in one of the new additions. Whoever decided to remove it should be ashamed of themselves. You can now pet a Starfish, a sturgeon, a stingray and all the usual stuff you now see in any modern aquarium. Amazon fish display is insane! Gigantic Arrowanna, Pacu and Stingrays. Brought down to kid level, so the youngsters will lose their minds. We got to see the Beluga whales mating. The bull has an enormous package. One of the cows had just given birth, and was still all stretched out. Stuff you never thought you would see. Better figure on about 5 hours to really see everything. Highly Recommend!

Experiencia positiva: The aquarium is great just crazy crowded. Flow is a challenge but could be because of construction. HIGHLY recommend the behind the scenes experience. It was great and Pearl was awesome.

Experiencia positiva: We just visited using the Go City Pass over Spring Break. It also happens to be a "free night" after 5pm. We arrived at 12:50 and could not get in until 3- wasn't a big deal because we just toured the Adler. The Shedd was obviously totally packed once we got in and the construction happening did not help. The kids had fun and that's all that matters. The beluga whale show was pretty cool. I enjoyed a Modelo during the show, which made the whole experience a lot more manageable.

Experiencia negativa: To say the Shedd Aquarium was a disappointment is an understatement. Had it not been for my 4 year old daughter being so excited and a 2 hr train ride to get in Chicago I would’ve left within 5 minutes of getting there. To start, you need tickets at a specific time. No just showing up, paying and going in. Nope I got there at 12:30pm and only once there I realized I couldn’t get in until 3. Luckily it was at least sunny on our 45 degree day on March 26th to walk around the city. Well at least having a limit on tickets means the crowd size will be limited right? Nope… it was horrendous. You could not see much, especially if you are a 4 yr old girl. She couldn’t see any of the animals she wanted due to the fact people were EVERYWHERE. She got to see the Octopus while on my shoulders from 10 ft away. I couldn’t even talk to her cuz I’d need a megaphone to get over the crowd noise. On the plus side she eventually said she wanted to go home so my favorite part happened, leaving!!!! She loved the train ride though, so that part was nice

Experiencia positiva: It was fun, but we chose to come when there was a field trip, so it was filled with little kids running, screaming everywhere, so it kind of killed the vibe, very hot, thick air inside. Couldn't watch the 3D show cus everytime it showed a shark and the seat vibrated the kids would scream and continue to scream. Other than the loudness and chaos from kids it was a good time. Only had 2 anxiety attacks. Parking isn't easy so if you go make sure to get there early for a parking spot along the road and you pay a meter by debt/credit card and it goes by your license plate. Was $109 for 2 of us. And if you go make sure to buy tickets ahead of time cus it may be filled so full that ppl were turned away and told to come back 4 hrs later to get a ticket.

Experiencia positiva: Kids loved it, good way to spend 4-5 hours, make sure you take some snacks or drinks in, we spent $50 on two bags of chips, two bottles of water and a pretzel with cheese. We did the animal spotlight on dolphins, great experience, get there early for better seating. We also watched a 15 minute show on sharks, this cost extra. We went on Saturday and the tickets for that day were all sold out around 9:30am when we got there, good thing we purchased ours in advance, I highly recommend doing the same.

Experiencia positiva: I haven’t been here in about 10 years and the Shedd has changed for good and some room for improvement. I enjoyed how they redid Amazon Rising and made a huge tank for the Arapaima. I do wish though they had more galleries for waters of the world, I missed seeing the biodiversity. The oceanarium on the surface viewing was great. But sadly struggled to get pictures because the water at underwater viewing was murky. However, the food at surroundings café was good, and the staff in the aquarium were so helpful. I also like the new contemporary side entrance being built.

Experiencia positiva: The aquarium was interesting. The ticketing process was not. The kiosk broke and our bank was showing it went through, the ticket people were very rude about it. We eventually figured it out and went in. The price of water was advertising $4.50 but rang up $5.59. The attendant said the price changed but they did not have the signs update. Other than those two things. Did have fun.

Experiencia positiva: In general everything was really amazing to see, just the tank of the beluga whales feels too small for the amount of bélugas, if they could have a bigger tank will be perfect.

Experiencia positiva: I've lived in Chicago 20 years and never went here until last week when my nephew came to visit. It's huge. Went on Pulaski Day, lots of school groups running around. I like getting the resident discount. Sharks, sting rays, fish upon fish, a few snakes. I really liked this place. Haven't been to an aquarium since Point Defiance Zoo in the 90s. About 2 hours of exhibits if you walk at a normal pace

Experiencia positiva: Nice aquarium and the shows are great. But Food option aren’t that great and the line to get in to the shark area is often blocked by this line to force you to take photos. There should be a separate line for people who know they don’t want to buy over priced photos! It’s quite annoying. One star off for that…

The Amazon exhibit is mind blowing, including the anaconda, that thing is massive, I mean seriously, never seen one? They have one here! 4D movie was fun, you might get wet The other fish and mammals are too many to mention, so you'll just have to go!

Experiencia fantástica: Great place! I've never seen Beluga whales before so that was really neat. Lots of animals and unique sea animals. Kids, teens and adults would enjoy! They do have lockers so you don't have to carry your coat or other items.

Experiencia fantástica: tickets were 105 total for two for adults from out of state tsk be prepared, but understandable the building is beautiful and all of the animals look healthy and well taken care of, interior was beautiful and staff were so friendly, also taking pictures throughout the building had minimal glare which was super cool, really nice facility, belugas were super cute probably one of my favorites. also mostly everything is in spanish and english which is nice for visitors if they don’t speak english.

Experiencia fantástica: Wow! What a magical day!! Highly suggest visiting the Shedd, even if you’re only in the city for the weekend. The dolphin show was free and the beluga experience was magical (and also free)! I’ve never seen a beluga in person and they would swim right next to the glass! When we got upstairs they were doing a beluga talk. We sat them giving an ultrasound to a pregnant beluga (who ended up giving birth the following weekend). There was fresh water and salt water tanks. We were able to pet huge three foot long fresh water fish! And pet a variety of species of star fish. What an amazing day!

Experiencia negativa: I spent two days at the Field Museum, and I still feel like I could have easily spent a third day in there without running out of interesting exhibits. A day ticket at the Field Museum is ~$30 at the time of this writing. A day ticket at Shedd Aquarium is ~$42 at the time of this writing... I had a very hard time even killing 3 hours there, let alone the entire 9 to 5 open-to-close that I spent at the Field Museum TWICE. It seemed like multiple sections which are usually open were closed for construction or something, and Shedd also seems to expect you to pay a hefty extra premium to see the sharks... Me and my friends were very disappointed in the experience, and concluded we may as well have just gone to the Field Museum a third time. I am now extending this recommendation to you. Shedd, I know running an aquarium is expensive, but don't charge full price when literally half of the museum is closed, with what little is left costing even more than the full price ticket. Ridiculous. At the very minimum, you could offer people a free viewing of one of your "4D" movies or something... My buddy from Chicago says he's never going back, and I don't blame him. One last note: if you must go to this place, try to get tickets at the actual museum. They charge you a scummy $5 """convenience fee""" if you buy a ticket online.

Experiencia fantástica: Enjoyed my visit at the Shedd Aquarium. Took us about 3.5 hours to make it through the whole thing. We made it in time to see the dolphin show which was cool. I love how you’re able to touch plants,starfish, and stingrays (seasonal). Def needs more parking availability, so I’d recommend taking an uber. I also recommend getting a citypass to save money!

Experiencia fantástica: Awe-inspiring experience. Great, large, and suitable habitats. Well maintained. Gorgeous and exotic fish. Would have loved to see more sharks and jellyfish, but the exhibits that were available were amazing and the best of the best. The two large tanks in the entrance were astonishing. We spent a good 30 mins lost in those alone. So, so beautiful. It was wonderful to see the beautiful dolphins and belugas. There is a lot of love put into the care of this aquarium and it’s visible in every facet of the experience. Thank you so much for such a wonderful time!

Experiencia fantástica: PLAN AHEAD!! You will need to pick a time to visit the aquarium that’s work with their capacity. My boyfriend and I wanted to visit after the Field Museum and found out we couldn’t get tickets until 3PM which was 2 hours from when we arrived. We ended up buying tickets for the next morning when they opened. The visit was very beautiful and has a huge reputation for a reason. Just be prepared to share the space with plenty of people and families and may have to wait in line for certain attractions inside.

Experiencia fantástica: I went to Shedd Aquarium last Saturday amazing place for kids and adults to gain some knowledge on aquatic animals.I suggest this place takes half day to cover each and every place in detail. There is dolphin show which is amazing but the time duration of show is short.We can see some animals which are grown near amazon river like Anaconda,Poison frog,Amazonian giant centipede etc.A wonderful experience MUST VISIT place in Chicago do not forget to visit Ground floor we can see penguins, jellyfish and beluga whales.
