Experiencia positiva: So cool to see the mermaids! Penguin walk was great hard to see at times due to all the people!

Experiencia fantástica: Lots of creatures to see. We touched jellyfish, and there is a hands-on portion for stingrays. There is a special room for rotating exhibits. This year was Polynesian culture. There is a playground inside the aquarium that kids love, and they make fresh mini donuts! Gift shop prices were reasonable.

Experiencia positiva: It's so busy. While I expected busy, it was way more than that. The moving sidewalk through the tanks was cool, and the indoor playground was a nice relief for the kids. We also wanted to go back to the gift shop, and it was kind of a hassle to do to just go buy a mermaid.

I would recommend buying tickets in advance its very easy and you can search Google for a promo code to make it cheaper. We paid 155 for 4 people to do the aquarium plus 2 (you get to go to 2 other ripley attractions we did the mirror maze and ripleys believe it or not!) Super fun!! Go in the late afternoon for less of a crowd on a week day!

Experiencia negativa: I went on a Thursday at noon. I’ve been to aquariums all over the country and across 4 continents. This was hands down the worst experience I’ve had anywhere. This is the first aquarium I’ve visited that doesn’t use timed entries to only allow a set amount of people in at once. They allow as many people to enter at a time as will pay for a ticket. From the moment we got close to the aquarium, it was shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of people right next to you in small spaces. The wait time from trying to enter the aquarium to seeing the first exhibit was about 30 minutes, even though the exhibit was very close to the entrance. This was solely due to the number of people inside the building. I had to fold down my stroller and carry it because of how many people they cram inside. I’m not a person who has ever experienced claustrophobia before, but I felt it here. I’m shocked that this place has not been shut down by the fire department. As someone who travels about every 6 weeks and has been to a large number of museums, aquariums, zoos, public transport systems, etc, I’ve never seen anything like it. Children were regularly getting separated from parents in dark hallways. The playground areas were chaos. If you have a medical emergency, I see no chance of getting timely assistance. The price of tickets was not justified for what this place gets you. Because of the amount of people, it took 10 minutes to get from one exhibit to the next (even ones that were 6 feet apart). There are endless amounts of fun things to do in Pigeon Forge and I highly recommend choosing something else for your family instead.

Experiencia negativa: They let so many people it it was unsafe and you could not actually see anything. The place was so overcrowded I’m surprised the fire dept is not constantly shutting it down. I saw children lost in dark hallways trying to find parents as they were shuffled between adults. The play area spans two levels and was absolute pandemonium. Panicked parents searching for children as families and teens walked through. Absolute cash grab for $200 with very little to offer in the way of aquatic life, education, or sustainability information. All in all, super disappointing and a complete waste of time and money.

Experiencia positiva: The Jellyfish touch tank was a favorite! My kiddo loved the indoor slides and the shark popcorn bucket. I wish the stingray touch tank was more accessible. We enjoyed the day and will be back next year!

Walking around way fairly easy but when we went to the penguin show it was hard to see anything because they parade them around and everyone swarms them. Over all we had an amazing time and was a great place to bring kids!

We especially enjoyed the stingray pool where you had the chance of petting one. The tunnel under the main tank was amazing. I do wish there were more photo opertunities the cgi background ones diddnt cut it for us.

Experiencia fantástica: We've been to many aquariums, this one was really large and had a great assortment. We had kids, parents and grandparents, everyone had a great time. Be careful in the souvenir shop, they have so much cool stuff you'll want to get lots of stuff.

The moving floor in the shark tunnel was super cool, made you feel like you weren't in anybody's way since everybody was moving the same pace. The giant tank throughout the aquarium and being able to see different parts of it as you walk through was great too. Definitely worth checking out if your in the area and enjoy aquariums. Only downfall was the octopus wasnt there.

You can buy tickets through human contact or at a kiosk if you can handle technology. We used the kiosk and it was fast and easy. Our experience at the aquarium was fantastic and we strongly recommend it.

The shark experience was so incredibly cool we had to see it twice. The aquarium seems to take great care of their animals which I so appreciated!

Experiencia fantástica: After having visited a half dozen aquariums, this is by far my favorite. There are plenty of things for kids to do, aside from looking at all of the aquatic animals. The animals are the most active of any place I have been to. Absolutely amazing and I can't wait to visit again.

Experiencia negativa: *TOURIST TRAP* trying to help anyone else visiting. Unless you like endless children running around everywhere and families blocking the view of all the aquatic creatures don’t come here. NOT worth the grand total of $100 that was for only 2 adults. Also must pay for parking.

Experiencia positiva: We took the trolley, which goes directly to the aquarium. The building is very eye-catching, with lovely scenery, which we also explored a little. The exhibits are well maintained and the facility itself very clean. We took the glass- bottom boat ride and the young man who conducted the tour was hilarious! I wish I could remember his name. The sawfish was our favorite. My biggest contention was with the layout. It is like a big maze, and while we didn't have a problem finding a restroom, we did get turned around a few times. Other than that, we had a blast!

Experiencia fantástica: I had a wonderful time going with my friends we all managed to get in with no trouble and explored the aquarium and doubled back to our favorite spots and were able to enjoy the full experience without interruption or feeling like our enjoyment of it was under a time limit. Definitely check it out atleast once and bring friends to enjoy it together.

Experiencia fantástica: Excellent for kids of all ages. Brought my 13-month old along hoping they would enjoy toddling around some of the tanks and pointing at fish. Easy to stroller through, exhibits were all well maintained, unique, and well signed with fun information about the fish and critters. These were at fairly inclusive heights - no raising the kids above your head to peak at things. The climbing tunnel into the penguin enclosure was super popular and you can get up close to the little dudes. We passed on touching rays until kiddo is a little older and won’t splash or startle the fish but the tunnel walk where sharks swim overhead was definitely the most exciting part for little one. We missed seeing the octopus as that enclosure was under construction - hopefully next time!

Experiencia positiva: The aquarium displays were AWESOME! This should have been a wonderful experience, but the aquarium was so busy we had a hard time seeing several of the exhibits. People rudely stopped in front of them and stayed for long periods of time, oblivious to the other people trying to see. We were not the only people annoyed at the inability to see the displays. It cost about $150 for three people, including tax and parking. I'd really like to see them maybe limit the number of people inside in 30-45 minute intervals. Or perhaps have employees in places to move people along. Overall the aquarium was really cool and I would like to go back when it is not so crowded.

Experiencia fantástica: This was a nice indoor aquarium with lots of stuff to keep our kids that ranged from 1.5-14 years old. There’s a lot of walking so come prepared for that but it was a fun place to spend a few hours on a rainy day.

Some of the penguins looked a little unhealthy but I am not sure l, not a penguin Dr. Would definitely recommend going probably best tourist attraction here

Experiencia positiva: Aquariums are great to visit on rainy days, but be aware, the walk from their parking garage to the aquarium is not covered. It was also frustrating to stand in the ticket lane outside in the rain, and then once inside, still having to wait in another line before getting to explore . With younger kids and one with autism, the sensory stimulus of wet clothes and then crowded lines set her off before even getting to enjoy. However once inside and getting her calmed, it was a very nice facility. Tanks very clean inside and outside. The play area in middle was nice touch.

Def not the best in the country or nearly top 5 I've visited... but still fun (mostly the kids enjoyed the play yard the most and wife loved the penguin march)... I don't think it's worth the admission price. Mermaid show was packed and was pretty dull tbh. Wouldn't probably come back just because it wasn't anything spectacular.

Experiencia positiva: I wanted so badly to give this aquarium five stars, but there’s a few key reasons why I couldn’t. First, the parking is such a mess. It’s not bad once you get in and get a spot, but we waited forever to even reach the small (compared to how many people want to go)parking garage. The lot was completely full, so the line is literally waiting for people to leave before you can even get in. Parking is $10 on TOP of the already insanely high ticket pricing. The handicap parking is actually a joke. There are very few spots and it’s quite a ways away from the aquarium. The aquarium does have a lot to see, but the design of the building is super annoying. It’s basically like a big maze going around in a big circle with restrooms few and fair between. Backtracking is very hard to do. The exhibits themselves were nice, I don’t have any complaints there, but my husband wasn’t very impressed at all. He loves saltwater creatures and said it was pretty basic for the most part. The penguins were my favorite part. They are absolutely adorable and the penguins parade was really neat! The giant sea turtle I saw was SO cool!!

Very kid friendly, there’s a free(?) multilevel soft play structure and they have ‘attractions’ you can pay extra for. I will say the glass bottom boat seemed a little extra for the space available - especially when they have the tunnels that run under. $10. Parking nearby which was nice!

The moving walkway through the underwater tunnel was perfect for a break from walking but also kept everyone moving so there was no crowding. The kids loved the play space inside as well. If you’re one of those people who might be wondering how good can an aquarium be in a tourist town in the Smokies, I’m here to tell you this place way impressed. Large variety of fish species from around the world, the underwater tunnel is amazing, the sharks, eels, stingrays, and penguins are all very cool to see. And you can touch jelly fish AND stingrays. Very worth it….recommend you do the Ripley’s multiple option pass. They do a military discount at the ticket booth as well.

Experiencia positiva: Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies – Crowded but Impressive We came with a family of nine, and while the aquarium itself was impressive, the experience was a bit overwhelming. Tickets were on the pricey side — about $46 per adult and $15 for our little one. We expected a good time, and in terms of exhibits and design, the aquarium delivered. However, it was extremely crowded. At times, it was hard to get to the viewing areas because of how packed it was. You had to wait your turn, and people were constantly bumping into each other just to see the animals. Finding parking was a nightmare — I ended up dropping off my family and circling for over 30 minutes to find a spot. Once inside, we took our time, sometimes splitting up and regrouping. The walk-through tunnel with sharks was a highlight — really cool and well-done. We grabbed a quick snack (popcorn and a shark-head drink), and the food was surprisingly fresh and hot. My 3-year-old had a blast overall, especially in the play area — but parents, be warned: it’s chaotic. There were so many kids and multiple exits inside the play structure that I got really nervous. I wasn’t aware my child could exit through the top side across a bridge. If you're alone with a toddler, it’s hard to keep track of them. After a couple minutes of panic, I found him and decided it wasn’t safe enough for us to stay in that area. In the end, it was a cool experience, but we left feeling exhausted and overstimulated. Gatlinburg itself was so crowded we decided to skip exploring and head back to Pigeon Forge. Bottom line: The aquarium is very well done and fun, but if it’s as busy as it was when we went, it may not be worth the high ticket price — especially for large families. Go early or on a less busy day if you can

You aren't rushed and can go at your own pace and do as you choose. Very nicely put together. Wife range of wildlife to see! We showed up with no tickets and got right on in. Very family friendly, too, by the way. We will be back each time we visit.

Experiencia fantástica: My mother and I went to Tennessee for a Mother's Day weekend. We went to the Wrigley's museum when purchasing tickets we had the option to buy more than one event. It was well worth it we ended up getting tickets. The price we paid was well worth it it was a few dollars more to get into two extra parks. We also did as you see the aquarium and shoot em up movie gun thing LOL. The aquarium was absolutely amazing. I live in Arizona and our aquariums sharks are not as big as they have their. It was very clean and everybody was friendly. I can't wait to do another trip and take my kids out there.

The price point can be a little high if you’re a large family but well worth it if you take the time to soak it all in and read the placards on each exhibit. Highly recommend and will return.

Experiencia fantástica: It was so cool! My husband and I liked the experience. I do wish that the gift shop had basic enamel pins for the general aquarium. I always get one from aquariums I visit and they didn't have any other than a three pack that all said the same thing. My fav part was seeing the tunnel and experiencing those animals so closely.

Experiencia fantástica: Okay this place was super confusing I'm sorry but I'm from Florida and I'm not with Peta but this place shouldn't exist I'm sorry but looking at all the sad seahorse sink to the bottom and one dead one made me so sad they are so majestic and for them to go here to die. then you shark with their fin flipping over that mean there are too many in the tank, and they are sad and sick they have been handled so much that the calluses under their fins are so white I could go on but if you dive or love the ocean this is a sad place, kids don't understand what they are looking at because it is really cool a different but in the middle of the mountains!This place should exist at all it scary and sad the world is so different now and there are other way for people to learn about animals and life but here goes the pix I took sorry not sorry just honest otherwise it's a good day my son had fun and the fish have to eat so buy a ticket and take videos....

Experiencia fantástica: We purchased both the glass bottom boat experience and the penguin encounter experience. We do not have children, so as two adults we found the aquarium very nice, but definitely more geared to children. We walked through the entire thing in under two hours, but overall I'm pleased with the visit. The glass bottom boat experience was well worth the cost - it was REALLY cool to see the animals from the top of the water. I also learned a lot during the boat ride, as our captain really knew his stuff and could provide all kinds of information about the fish. The penguin encounter was *very* cool. Our trainers were Brent and Chelsea, and they were phenomenal. You could really tell how much they love animals and how knowledgeable they were. We were lucky enough to meet, take a photo with, and pet a lovely penguin lady named Moana. Our trip was pricey, but we overall had a great experience and enjoyed the additional experiences. As an adult, I'm not sure I would have enjoyed just visiting the aquarium without the extras. One thing that was not clear on the website is that you do have to park in a parking garage and walk to the aquarium - you cannot park onsite. Parking was an additional $10. Not a terrible expense, but we didn't know that we were going to have to find a garage to park in, and then walk to the aquarium in the rain. Overall a great experience and I would recommend it to others.

Experiencia fantástica: My husband and I visited the aquarium on a Monday in early May. It was not too busy, a few families and a couple of school buses. Parking was no problem, there is a city parking garage a few hundred feet away for a flat rate of $10. The aquarium was fun, interesting, and educational. The temperature was comfortable and there was a place to buy food and drinks if you wanted them. I definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for an indoor activity

Experiencia fantástica: Despite the crowd I have a wonderful time every time I visit the Gatlinburg. (Backstory) This year is my first year being a mother and I brought along my 3 month old baby. I had a complicated pregnancy. She was born with a brain defect caught at my Anatomy scan. I was told she’d be a vegetable with no quality of life. Luckily they were very wrong and the defect was very minimal and her brain surgery was successful. As of now she’s a typical baby. I remember one thing I was excited about when pregnant was taking my daughter to her first aquarium trip. It honestly made me emotional my whole visit. She loved the lights and tracing the fish back and forth, it filled my heart hearing her delighted squeals. I will always visit every time I’m in gatlinburg and I can’t wait to take her again when she’s older

Experiencia positiva: It was very busy but still enough room to see everything. The aquarium was clean and everyone was very nice. The only thing I would say negative was very dull fish no colorful fish. Overall not bad a little pricey but good time.

You could do it in less time or more. Worth the ticket price and the added attractions filled our next few days with so much fun.

The highlights for us were walking underneath the shark lagoon and seeing the penguins, though everything was impressive. Of course, the centerpiece playground was also nice for the kids to burn off some excess energy and appreciated! The staff was exemplary and facilities were immaculate. Parking garage in the back is available with ample spaces for a flat $10 fee. Whatever the weather is I'd recommend making this aquarium a part of your trip.

Experiencia positiva: I go here quite a bit, the adults only overnight events are amazing. And the painting with penguins activity for the kids is honestly really fun even for adults. Maybe it's just my autism or maybe it's because I grew up watching shark week, but I absolutely love the shark tunnel. Yes I am lazy and just stand on the moving walkway, but you can always walk around people on the side. The food that they offer for you to buy there isn't the best quality, but that's why it's the aquarium and not a restaurant.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a great place to go and take your kid.. the long winding floor moving ride that you can stand on and your kids stand on and look up into the aquarium is just awesome. It is a little pricey but just playing on spending a lot of time in there. There is a lot of things for kids to do and a huge climbing gym which took forever to get our daughter out. She wore herself out though so job well done

Experiencia positiva: Nice aquarium with one of the best water domes we've seen. Just wish it was a little bit bigger, maybe it was because we beat the crowds or there's just not as much going on in the early evening, but it only took us just over an hour to get through the aquarium. Also, they tend to offer online discounts/promos, we ended up saving 25% which made the total worth the visit and one of the cheaper experiences for a family of 4 in Gatlinburg!

Experiencia fantástica: Was an absolute blast. We enjoyed Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies more than The Georgia Aquarium. 5 Stars. Definitely check it out if you get the opportunity. The Aquarium parking garage is also all day for $10 flat rate and that is the cheapest we encountered in the area. Everything else was $20 that we went by.

Experiencia positiva: We visited Ripley's Aquarium in early April on a rainy day. We expected a busy crowd because of that, and it was packed. We parked in the deck behind the aquarium at $10/day. Convenient especially if you are competing with crowds for Anakeesta (sp?). Aside: We bought tickets in advance, which I recommend. We did the combo +3, and I'm not really sure the combos are a great deal. Our combo ticket got us 1 hr at the Super Fun Park. It was very fun. But driving by the park itself, it had a sign that said $19.99 for all day. So, didn't feel like that was a win. We waited in line to scan tickets for ab 15 minutes and then got into the aquarium. The staff were all terrific, very hospitable and helpful. The beginning of the aquarium was a bit clogged as people were caught up at the first exhibits. After that, it eased up. Even though it was crowded we had sufficient space. It's not a huge aquarium but there was a good amount to do. We are frequent aquarium visitors in NC and VA, and we spent almost 2 hours. Important to know about the penguin walk timing of you go. 1, because it will be very busy and crowded in those areas and 2. You may want to see the penguins waddle around There's a cool kids playground in the middle. Definitely a great rainy day place to go if you have kids (our 8 and 9 year old had fun). Recommend if it's on your list, the other Ripley's stuff is hit or miss, we did really like the Super Fun Park.

Experiencia positiva: Overall, it's a pretty decent aquarium. - They have a lot of great animals, but some enclosures are definitely less appealing than others. - The shark lagoon was gorgeous, so it was unfortunate that the green sea turtle was hiding in the dark when I went. - The sawfish alone was worth the price of the tickets. Seeing it was the highlight of my visit. - The glass boat ride was something I was considering but looking at it it seemed a bit cheesy and not worth it. If you plan to go to this aquarium I'd save the money for a real glass boat ride through a mangrove forest.

Experiencia positiva: Nice aquarium, not worth the hype though. I love aquariums, and like to take my time to view aquariums and exhibits- which is almost impossible to do & get your money’s worth when it’s overcrowded here. You’ll have people breathing down your neck with zero regard for personal space waiting to look at the tanks… which makes it feel extremely rushed. I honestly wish they could limit the amount of people that come in at a time. It was a great little aquarium, but it wasn’t anything we hadn’t seen before. I feel like when people go on vacation, they forget their manners at the house.

Experiencia fantástica: This aquarium is absolutely amazing. This is the best one I have ever been to! It's very spacious lots of things to see and do inside, from the ripleys glass bottom boat, tour to touching jellyfish, the giant play area for kids and the gift shop plus so much more.

Experiencia fantástica: Well worth the money! Was hesitant to go cuz it seems like a tourist trap. Oh boy was I wrong. Set up really well and tons of stuff for kids to do. Even had a big kids playground that the kids played in for over and hour. Then the glass bottom boat is not to be slept on. Kinda short, but what a cool experience! Definitely worth your time and money. Buy tickets in advance.

Experiencia positiva: Nice smaller aquarium with wide aisles so you have room to walk even when it's crowded. It can be a bit overwhelming when it's busy though. the waiting in line for a picture before entering is kind of out dated and takes forever. The ticket line only took about 10 minutes to get in. After tickets was 30-40 minutes in line for a picture even if you don't want one. There are some amazing creatures to look at, and even though we did go during a peak time (1pm on a Wednesday during spring break) the crowd was pretty considerate. The noise in the playground area was loud. I'm sure if my kids were younger they would have loved the play area though, it looked like fun. I wish there was more seating at the tank near the food court. it was a very relaxing area and my kids could have sat there forever if I would have let them. The penguins were cute. You get a good view of an axolotl. The tunnel under the water is really nice. It's very long and you get a good look at the fish and sea turtles. (And occasionally the people in the glass bottom boat.) I really liked that they allow you to bring in your own water bottles and even had refill stations for them.

Experiencia fantástica: We always have fun going to Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies. We live in Knoxville and go every year or two. The kids always love it and the aquarium is always developing the exhibits so we have a new experience each time. *Local Tip: check for discount codes online

Experiencia positiva: This was a fun aquarium exhibit, though so.ewhat smaller than the one we have in Chattanooga. The underwater tunnel was the highlight, by far. It was a really up close and personal experience with a lot of sea life we can't otherwise see in such detail. It was a really cool exhibit that I'm glad I get to experience.

Experiencia fantástica: This is a MUST DO in Gatlinburg! Ticket line was quick. The aquatic animals were so exciting to see. The underwater tunnel was amazing. Our family with adult children enjoyed this so much! Took about 2 hours to walk through. The store at the end was fun to grab a souvenir.

Experiencia fantástica: We enjoyed this so much. My son wanted to see live sharks and he got to see a lot of them. This was a very good experience for my kids to see the different water animals. We had so much fun.

Experiencia fantástica: Much better than expected! We've been to Atlanta, Camden, Baltimore...Gatlinburg is definitely better than Chattanooga. The Shark tunnel was a cool 10 minute roll, and the gift shop prices are way more reasonable than any others I've seen.
