Fantastic experience: ARC aquariums is my trusted aquarium place to go. My knowledge about aquariums is very basic and the team at ARC have gone above and beyond in helping me. Not only do they have good equipment and products, on top of that they teach you exactly how to use it and run through with you on exactly how to do it, when to do it and the dos and don’ts. Highly recommend these guys and girls they have my trust. Very friendly team as well

Fantastic experience: Honourable mentions to all the staff members working on Monday the 9th of June ,2025 ; especially Kevin and Jess ! My mate and I were travelling from Sydney and did a stop over at this store . Every single one of the staff members displayed excellent customer service skills, were very helpful and extremely friendly and accommodating. This store displayed an array of fresh and salt water fish ; and a huge variety of corals ! We spent over an hour browsing around ; enjoying our time and conversing with Kev who presents him self as being very , very knowledgeable. I ended up walking out with 5 coral cardinal and 3 new corals that were reasonably priced ! Super stoked with my purchases and will definitely return again . 5 stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Fantastic experience: Dear Eric, the ARC team and the previous tank owner, Thank you so much for your generous donation of the Aqua One, 300 Litre tank to my sons and I. What you have given to us is more than just a fish tank, but years of quality bonding time and memories. At first I was concerned that my sons would loose interest in the tank and I would be left looking after the tank and fish, however surprisingly, since we received the tank, I have got more and more excited and interested in the hobby. The tank has provided a great shared interest and hobby for my sons and I to work on together and so far has provided some great father and sons times, and learning experiences. We have worked together to cover the cabinet so that it is white, debating where it should be put in the house and hours of research on fish, tank set up, what we want it to look like and of course random adventures to the beach and bush to look for "the perfect rock or driftwood" as my son would say. The tank has fueled my sons interest for the hobby and I have on occasion found in awake at 5am researching all things aquarium related. All three of us have learnt about the chemistry and bio diversity of aquariums and have had countless debates on what fish types to put in the tank. The tank is set up now and ready to be home to some fish, although my son is already planning some "improvements"! Fantastic experience: As a complete beginner to the saltwater aquarium hobby, I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction than my visit to ARC Aquarium in Hornsby. Eric was incredibly helpful and patient — he generously spent two hours teaching me all the foundational knowledge I needed to get started, sharing both his expertise and passion for marine life. What really stood out was the store’s strong focus on sustainability and education. I was lucky enough to catch Eric on a quieter day, which gave me the chance to absorb so much valuable insight. Another fantastic aspect is their dedicated section for people who are breaking down their tanks — allowing them to bring in livestock to be rehomed. It’s the first store I’ve seen offer this, and it shows their genuine care for aquatic life. Highly recommend this place whether you're just starting out or a seasoned aquarist looking for a community-minded store.

Negative experience: Decent store with decent quality things but there's still things that need improving. Been at the store a few times in the past week and I always seen a few dead fish in different tanks that seem to go very unnoticed. Went in today for some female fish. I trusted the workers judgement have realised now I wasn't sold females but just some low quality males. All in all, store good be better but could be worse too.

Arc Aquariums in Hornsby is hands down the best aquarium store I’ve ever visited -honestly, I’ve never seen anything like it. The place is massive, spotless, and stocked with everything you could need for both freshwater and saltwater setups, including rare fish, tanks, supplies, and even a live plankton and brine shrimp setup . Every section is laid out perfectly, making it easy to explore, and there’s even an upstairs area with even more to discover. Eric was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, honest, and genuinely passionate. Instead of just pushing a sale, he gave me solid advice on the best setup for my goals and even offered to help me build it within my budget when I’m ready. If you're into aquariums, you need to check this place out for yourself. Walk in, and you’ll see exactly what I’m talking about. 5 stars, no question!

The staff are super friendly and passionate, they never make you feel rushed and love educating newcomers to the fish keeping hobby. The fish are all super healthy, and the range is amazing. Fantastic experience: Beyond excellent experience!! The knowledge and professionalism of staff here is second to none! I had the pleasure of being taken care of one particular young lady who was not only extremely passionate, but took so much care to make sure the two comet goldfish I bought for my pond (about 3 weeks ago) were transported like royalty (other shops have provided tiny bags and minuscule amounts of water which clearly stress the fish) and I’ve never spoken to someone who had such a wealth of knowledge! My fish are so happy and healthy in their new home! I’m so grateful and I’ll be back to add to my growing family of fish. It should also be noted (as it is noticeable), that the health and vitality of the fish at this place are superior. Thank you so much!!

Fantastic experience: UNBEATABLE EXPERIENCE FROM SUPER FRIENDLY AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF. I first visited ARC Aquariums some 8+ years ago, and after year upon year of service, I would not go elsewhere when it comes to aquarium and live stock supplies. The owner, Eric, has endless years of experience in the industry. If there is anything he doesn't know, then you won't find too many others that do. I purchased a custom-made live coral marine tank, which I enjoyed for years before upgrading to a mixed SPS dominate tank. Unfortunately, I needed to move properties and had to leave this behind, but I am already working with them to set up a new freshwater aquarium for my new apartment. If you are looking for anything fish related, I would not hesitate to recommend Eric and his professional staff, who will make sure all your dreams come true.

We have set up a few aquariums in our house over the past few months and the level customer care and freely available knowledge that ARC Aquariums provide consistently is great. You can tell that each of the employees is invested and passionate about the hobby and that makes the whole process learning the hobby that much easier. Not to mention the stores reef and fresh water displays are top notch. Couldn't recommend more.

We couldn’t help ourselves and had to come again this weekend and Eric was amazing! Fantastic experience: So this is the most amazingly run family business. The staff know everything there is to know but more importantly they actually care about you as a person and fish keeper. So to explain I ran a mixed salt water tank 30 years ago and so much has changed for the positive since then. They have all helped so much for me to set up the most new amazing and calming reef setup within 4 weeks filled with A grade corals. But most importantly they have bought myself and youngest son back together after a bit of a messy divorce, my Coops has an absolute desire to make his dream of fish keeping a profession and Eric, Kevin and sorry Mum have only pushed him to consider what works together but most importantly continually asking him what he wants as the end aquarium that will make him happy. Honestly I can thank you all enough, you are family of great people and that is really hard to find these days, I wish you all the success in the future.

Negative experience: Last time I came here, I reviewed it as five stars. This time I review this as one star. I bought two fish, and the staff deliberately charged me for the price of four fish. Even after I told them about their “mistake”, they completely ignored me and even told me that I was the one who was mistaken. Never coming back, terrible service.

Loads of beautiful healthy corals and fish I could only dream about getting my hands on back in Norway. Even if I was visiting from Norway, and not able to buy anything, they took very good care of me and showed me around the store. I even got some great advice on new lights for my tank, and supplements for bettering my acro growth when I get back to Norway. Awsome store and great people. Fantastic experience: I had an incredible experience as a complete amateur at ARC! This was my second visit to the shop, and on both occasions, every team member was exceptionally welcoming. Today, I went in to purchase my first freshwater tank with minimal research. Gabby assisted me for over an hour, offering guidance without being pushy or trying to upsell. The pricing was great, and Gabby went above and beyond by including filter noodles with bacteria to kickstart the tank. To top it off, she sent a detailed email with instructions when I got home. A fantastic and personalised service and will 100% return and recommend to others.

Fantastic experience: Recently upgraded a non-sustainable, trial CO2 system to a much better setup from ARC thanks to the help and knowledge from their team. Particular thanks to Kevin for running me through all the options and finding me cost effective, quality options for my small tank. With his advice I’m looking forward to finally getting a planted carpet in my aquascape! Over the years I’ve bought livestock, plants and gear from ARC and I’d certainly recommend them to anyone looking to get into, or already obsessed with the hobby. Negative experience: I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this aquarium. The fish I purchased recently turned out to be infected with cotton wool disease (columnaris), leading to the death of many of my older expensive fish. Costing me hundreds of dollars and counting. The shop's failure to provide healthy stock has cost me both emotionally and financially. I strongly advise against purchasing from this establishment to avoid the stress and financial loss I've endured. Buy at your own risk.

Negative experience: Avoid like the plague. All their expensive fish are on seperate systems because their freshwater fish are NOT healthy. I bought fish last week and now almost wiped my whole established tank out. Very sad

Fantastic experience: Amazing team Eric Anthony and everyone I talk with in the store even tho they are really busy in weekends they spent time with me to explain exactly how to fix my phosphate, how to use the Radion g5 I got from them and have me notes and tips of how to set it up Anthony and Eric msgs me to check up on my new fish and give me tips of taking care of them And never forgets to call me as soon as my order comes in They are not shy share knowledge with me and give me the best advise that I wouldn’t even find online Cheers guys no wonder why I drive nearly an hour to see you guys every time I need something

Fantastic experience: Amazingly knowledgeable and helpful staff. Customer service is next level awesome and the display tanks are amazing. Can’t recommend this place enough. I recently purchased a tank through ARC and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. A difficult delivery, on a weekend, at night and these guys made it look easy. Staff make the effort to know your name, are great with kids and remember you and your tank to ensure personalised advice is given. ARC is a brilliant shop to visit for beginners all the way to seasoned aquarists and is by far my favourite.

It has a wide range of fresh and salt water fish species as well as various fish foods, aquariums, and equipment to run your tank. From the moment you walk in after easy access to parking downstairs you are warmly welcomed into this aquarium palace, and it is HUGE. I needed advice on my 2nd hand tank and modernising the filter system, i also needed advice on enhancing and testing the water quality (i came in with water samples) and I needed to learn how to properly maintain/clean my new tank. No task too small, no hard sales tactic pressure, just pure passion and commitment to excellence in the customer experience. I walked out feeling in complete control of my fish tank and have confidence in knowing that Eric and his team will support me all the way.

From fish tank with best equipment available on the market , to a little snail and copepods to seed your newly established tank. In case you feel like you can't afford some items, friendly and responsive staff always happy to negotiate. This place is not your regular LFS , it feels like you paying a visit to your friends and family....

Fantastic experience: Very impressed with ARC Aquariums!! I went with my kids and was amazed by the vast variety of Tropical and Freshwater fish, from Fancy goldfish, Betta's, Neon Tetra's, Angel Fish to Sting ray pups. We were there to pick up a few more fish to add to our tanks and the staff were super friendly, letting my kids feed the Koi fish and very helpful, showing me how to use the vacuum and syphon the gravel. I had also accidentally left an item at the store and Eric was kind enough to give me a buzz and set it aside. Under ground customer parking is also a bonus! My new go-to for all fish related purchases.

Negative experience: while some staff is good, others just care about selling you things. many things are overpriced, make sure you check other stores! they take advantage of beginners by selling you maga size super glue that they know you will only need 1/10 of it and convinced you you need all of it. or selling you chemicals to treat dino issues which crashed my tank irrevesibly. absolutely hate this store. if you jave to go, do your homework, dont ask for advice, avoid a guy called Daniel. if you afford the travel, recommended going to eastwood aquarium, or even bespoke aquarium at blacktown.

Fantastic experience: Wow amazing the staff here absolutely so friendly talked about getting Fish Tank an aquarium set up for my wife, super genuine and really ready to help. It’s the first time I’ve ever walked into an aquarium and actually saw not one dead fish and stuff cleaning the gravel on every single tank, that’s amazing I highly recommend these guys and I will be coming back shortly. Negative experience: Interesting experience. My son wanted an aquarium with fish during school holidays. Sales guy won't sell an aquarium without a stand. I was too lazy to install the stand but said ok when he's willing to install and deliver for $220 extra. Willing to spend $600-$900 but he won't deliver same day, not next day, but the week after because he's too busy. Now my son is almost in tears because school will reopen and asked why can't he get an aquarium and fish that day? He doesn't mind if it's a smaller aquarium but he wanted it the same day. Sales guy said no, even for a small tank we can't put fish in for 7 days. Son is now twitching and I took him to another shop. Got everything he wanted there including bags of aquarium water and got his aquarium same day. Spent about $300. ARC missed a sale.
