Negative experience: Not very accessible to families with prams, the walkways are slim the whole way through with random fake rocks tripping you on the sides, thereās only a few parent/disability bathrooms through the Aquarium with not enough space for the prams to follow through the hallways. They definitely need to sell limited tickets to control capacity as itās too full to enjoy.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed with SeaLife Sydney. Had purchased tickets months ago online for today, and lined up in a massive queue which is understandable, got to the front and my friend & I were refused entry since we didnāt have an adult with us. Keep in mind, we are both over 16, which according to your website it says as long as you are over 16, you are allowed entry. We then called & was told to ājust file a complaint onlineā. Absolutely shocking, ruined the whole day.

Negative experience: The animals were nice but it was sooo crowded. I was starting to get very anxious and it was almost hard to breathe in some areas. They should limit the amount of people the let in because it was hard to enjoy it getting so claustrophobic. It was also hard to see some animals because people were crowding the tanks.

Positive experience: Was a great experience and my little one enjoyed seeing all the sea life. However, some of the tanks needed to be cleaned and you could see a lot of water equipment in the tunnel tanks, which took away from the experience a bit.

Negative experience: We visited with our toddler and truly enjoyed the aquarium ā itās a beautiful experience for families. Unfortunately, the interactions with a few staff members were disappointing. The lady at the dugong area, the staff member near the pram parking by the Penguin Ride, and another staff member at the exit discussing the photo bundle came across as quite unfriendly. A warmer and more patient approach would make a big difference, especially for parents managing young children. Family outings can be overwhelming, and a friendly attitude really enhances the overall experience.

Fantastic experience: SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium was a great experience and definitely worth the visit. The aquarium is large, and the walk-through tunnels are the highlight ā itās amazing to see fish and sharks swimming all around you. We especially enjoyed the penguin area. It was quite cold inside, but being able to see the penguins up close made it worthwhile. There was a huge variety of fish and marine life, and the whole place felt immersive and well designed. Compared to other nearby attractions, we found SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium more impressive and better value. Overall, a really enjoyable visit and a must-see if youāre interested in marine life.

Fantastic experience: Have visited many big aquariums in the world and really enjoyed the Sydney Aquarium and all the animals/fish they have. We spent +2 hrs doing the whole aquarium and really enjoyed the penguins, the shark tank and the touch tank. Great for adults and kids. Would highly recommend!

Negative experience: I recently visited SEA LIFE Sydney, and unfortunately it was quite disappointing. The venue had a noticeable unpleasant smell in several areas, and overall it did not feel clean or well-maintained. For the price of admission, I expected a much better experience. Some displays felt neglected, which took away from what could have been an enjoyable visit. I wouldnāt recommend it unless improvements are made to cleanliness and maintenance

Fantastic experience: Best to buy tickets in advance online especially if itās a group as you can find amazing deals and discounts. The Penguin boat ride was the best (considering it was almost 40 degrees the day we went). The grandbabies 4 and 2 and our son 9 had a fantastic afternoon. We will definitely will go again, maybe when itās not so hot āāļø

Fantastic experience: Visited this aquariam today. $55 per person but there was plenty to do. Great suprise to see that the boat that took you around the penguin enclosure was included in the ticket. Fun sydney activity i 100% recommend you do if you have the chance
Positive experience: Visited SEA LIFE today and Iād rate it around 3/5 āļø. Thereās a lot to see inside ā sharks, penguins, tunnels, and many interactive spots, so itās definitely still worth a visit, especially for families. But honestly, maintenance could be better. Some areas really need more cleaning, and overall it didnāt feel as well-kept as expected ā even though I know maintaining is not easy. Customer service wasnāt the best either. A few staff members were a bit rude, which makes visitors feel uncomfortable, especially when everyone comes to enjoy and have a good time. Maybe theyāre young or stressed, but the attitude matters a lot. Also, clearer signs and directions would help, because itās a long walk and the place can get cozy and confusing. Even with these issues, itās still a nice hidden gem in the city ā not as impressive as Melbourneās, but still something families can enjoy. Hope they take a bit more care with cleanliness, maintenance, and customer service to make it even better!
Fantastic experience: Beautifully done interactive aquarium. Great for kids to learn and love nature. Just wish it had been made with wider aisles as prams are everywhere. Loved the sharks and stingrays but really it all was a joy. We went on a Monday and it was busy but not impossible. I would think weekends could get hectic.
Positive experience: This neatly enclosed aquarium located next to the Sydney zoo and madam Tussaudās houses nurse sharks and cute dugongs. An interesting visit if you are around pyrmont area. Educational and interesting. Not very large and you should cover it in about 25 mins. Slightly pricey
Fantastic experience: Such a brilliant experience, and they've a fantastic new sensory space to retreat to and rest from the overwhelm. Just ask the staff to let you in if you need access, they're super supportive.
Positive experience: The aquarium is great , but you need to accept screaming kids and a ticketing system designed between marketing and accounts , with the end goal of fleecing you with fine print , hooks , catches , spam and pricing that must come out of Qantas's playbook.
Fantastic experience: Loved the aquarium and the sea life up close. The variety of marine life is excellent and the seeing sharks and stingray's up close is worth the visit. The penguins are the most entertaining and we can spend a lot of time with them.
Positive experience: Very nice for having a good time despite the pool being too small for the duggong

Negative experience: If I could give this place negative stars I would. Safety issues all through the premises and no staff around to help over a long weekend.
Positive experience: We enjoyed using the SeaScan app. Enjoyable experience.
Fantastic experience: Lots of varieties of fishes, sharks, rays and many other sea life. Dugong and penguins is a bliss to watch. There is a free 2 min penguin ride in the aquarium, and it really is suitable for the kids. Worth for a day visit along with kids or even as friends. Takes almost 2-3 hours to complete the whole place. There is also a small cafe inside the Aquarium for quick Bites and coffee. Soft drinks are available as well.
Positive experience: Well worth the admission price - great exhibitions and loved the Penguin boat ride. Only negative was placement of toilets which seemed to be only located at the beginning and end making for a long walk if you are desperate half way through!
Positive experience: Sydney's aquarium is quite old and requires some upgrades to compete with other major cities aquariums. Compared to Dubai or Toronto aquariums, the watching screen for tunnels was quite dirty and water was not crystal clear thus the experience did not worth the spending. We went on a Saturday and was quite crowded.

Most of the tanks here at SEA LIFE Sydney pull water from Darling Harbour! Every week our amazing Aquarists get into the tanks and clean the glass from the inside with cloths, brushes and even a Ryobi polisher! Not only does the glass need cleaning but so does the gravel and sand. To do this we use a Siphon cleaner it's a bit like a vacuum cleaner but under water to clean the gravel and sand in our tanks - a great example of the innovative way our innovative Aquarists recycle and reuse items around SEA LIFE Sydney Aquarium!
During the filtering process the water can go a little foggy, making it harder for our guests to see our creatures. However this means the creatures are able to live in happy healthy water! Crystal clear water would be amazing, however our little fishes sadly would not survive in this.

The oceanarium tunnels are the standout feature. Walking through Shark Valley and Dugong Island is breathtakingāseeing sharks, rays and giant turtles glide overhead is unforgettable. The Great Barrier Reef section combines lighting, coral displays and schooling fish to create a truly immersive environment. Every tank is well maintained, and animals have room to move, which reflects high standards of care. Families will appreciate how interactive and educational the experience is. Touch pools, informative signage and well-timed talks keep children and adults engaged. The aquarium is also wheelchair and pram friendly, and visitor facilities such as rest areas, signage and crowd flow are thoughtfully designed. The location at Darling Harbour makes it easy to combine with other activities in the area. A highlight worth mentioning separately is the Virtual Reality experience. It is exceptionally well executed with professional equipment and staff supervision. Negative experience: They should not be promoting children to touch the animals in the aquarium. That sends the wrong message for the future protection of wildlife and nature. There is very little scientific education about the care of the oceans and their importance. It feels more like a tourist trap.
Fantastic experience: I bought the two attractions pass online. Amazingly, a single building houses the Sea Life Sydney Aquarium, the Wild Life Sydney Zoo and Madame Tussauds! It's quite convenient that all the entrances are close to one another. You can enter the building on foot via the foot bridge that begins at the corner of Sussex and King St. The aquarium isn't super large but does offer extensive underwater tunnel views of their largest tanks and has many small exhibits featuring local fauna. Their biggest critter is a dewgong called Pig and their most fun critter to watch (in my opinion) are the penguins. One of the penguin species they keep here absolutely LOVE collecting rocks for their nests. Occasionally the keepers bring out giant buckets of rocks to scatter around for the birds to pick up. It's quite the show. There's a boat ride for children that you can pay for to float around the penguin exhibit. An honorable mention is the pig nosed turtle that just couldn't get enough of the diver cleaning his aquarium. So cute!

Positive experience: It is a great experience especially for the first time visitors. A lot to explore especially the shark tunnel. So much of waiting the penguin adventure especially if you want to go on a ride. Nothing has changed over the last many years so paying another $55 for the second time is too much. But yes, you always have the option to combine and purchase a package to make it cheaper.
Fantastic experience: We had the best time!! Alyssa showed us all the rockpools and gave such good info and then emma let us know all the deets about the penguins. Epic fun times

Fantastic experience: Sea life Sydney aquarium. A must visit while youāre in Sydney. Conveniently located within Darling Harbour offering a true sea experience with guaranteed something cool for anybody. From small exhibits to everyoneās favourite the big sharks. In-depth information on each exhibit really giving you a proper understanding of what you are viewing. Fairly priced. Tickets are to be purchased at electronic vending outside of the aquarium. Multiple local multi story car parks with a small walk to aquarium itself in Darling Harbour . A bit of walking and stairs involved . Staff are friendly and helpful . Small on-site cafe/convenience store for nibbles lunch or a drink. Can get busy during peak time such as school holidays and weekends so pick your times wisely. However, ticketing system works in increments of people to prevent overcrowding. Great value great experience . Would recommend .

Fantastic experience: Great exhibits and very cool animals. Staff was very friendly. Penguin experience was closed so that was a bummer. Facilities were nice. I donāt mind paying the ticket cost or more to support wild life.
Negative experience: WE HAD THE WORST TIME HERE - The security guard shouted at my child and I had to call management - then the security guard shouted at my partner and I and said if we cant understand English, we should go home - this personn, I use, that term, generously, doesn't know we were born and raised in Australia - I a taking this further with management and posting all over socials - we felt threatened and the whole experience was incredibly incredibly terrible and horrific.

Negative experience: We went since it bundled with admission to Wild Life, but this was just as disappointing as Wild Life. The dugong was wonderful to watch, however, the small enclosures were sad to see for such intelligent creatures. Additionally, the extensive ramps to get through the tunnels were not worth it at all. If I were you, I would probably skip that part all together. Too many people, you're literally going in circles, climbing down and back up, it's not worth it at all.

Positive experience: We really enjoyed the experience and the exhibits overall, but it was extremely crowded and the tunnels became quite congested. Even with staggered entry times, it felt a bit overwhelming at times, and we couldnāt see some exhibits properly because of the crowds. That said, the shark tunnel and the exhibit with all the rays were definitely the highlight.

Negative experience: We went to Madame Tussauds and they sneakily charged us for Sea Life as well! Never been ripped like this before. We caught a flight right after, and had barely an hour to fill. Can't believe they are running such scams. Shameful to have Aussie businesses stoop to these levels.

Positive experience: For the price you pay, it was an underwhelming experience. Unfortunately, our day started off with a staff member staring at my children when telling "whoever did it" off for knocking on the glass - it was in fact the old man next to us who did it! Quite stupidly too, he was knocking the wood to see how solid it was. I was too shocked by his lack of ownership to his wrongdoing, AND his wife, who also just let my kids cop the blame, to correct the staff member. So in future, staff members should probably figure out who actually did the wrongdoing before making assumptions and eyeing the wrong people. It feels like the facilities need an update to have more walking room, as it was quite tight despite us visiting outside of peak times. This made it feel rushed, as we needed to keep moving along so that others could move along behind us, which meant we could not truely enjoy the experience. We were actually told "tell the people at the front to move along" - the people at the front were poor families with prams and small children, trying to view the exhibit. We had to skip that area because of the tight space. The penguin boat ride was something we looked forward to, and was great but extremely short and for us, the penguins were unfortunately better seen from the viewing window than from the boat ride. There were a lot of experiences with walking underneath the water, which was fantastic. We really would've liked to have been able to make lots of little stops to read the fun facts on the walls. Perhaps they were designed for a crowded day with a slow pace..it was just sadly very rushed for us.

Fantastic experience: So fun! Walking through the glass tunnels surrounded by sharks and stingrays was incredible. Great educational experience for kids and adults alike. Tickets are worth itāallow a few hours.
Positive experience: I was a bit disappointed im sorry to say. I found it very hot inside the Aquarium. Uncomfortably so. There was lots of walking where you didn't see anything. Down and up the ramps. Nothing to look at. I thought the glass was very dirty and hard to see the fish when the sunlight was coming through. Some of the lights were very bright and right in your face. The boat ride was very short in the penguin area. Would of been nice if the boat paused at the penguins for a bit. I didn't come out thinking wow that was great.

Fantastic experience: One of the best aquariums I have ever visited. Much larger than expected and has a lot of walk thru aquarium tunnels. Originally just wanted to go to the Wildlife zoo, and saw that they offered a combo pass for a few dollars more (including Madame Tussauds & Sydney Eye). Definitely worth it to buy the combo, these venues are near each other and can easily knock out. Go early in the day to avoid a line to get in.

Fantastic experience: Finally checked this out after living in Sydney for ages, figured I had to since itās always hyped as a must-do tourist spot. Was expecting it to be a bit overhyped, but honestly? It was better than I thought. The penguin boat ride was the highlight. you hop on this little raft and cruise past different penguin zones. Super peaceful, kinda felt like I was in a theme park ride but slower and colder. Penguins were waddling around doing their thing, some were just posted up like bouncers at a club. The turtles just floated up and stared at me which was a nice experience. The stingrays and sharks gliding over you in the tunnel also made for a cool moment, and thereās something oddly calming about watching fish drift around while kids scream somewhere in the distance. Honestly, good spot to kill a couple hours. Would recommend if youāre in the area or just want something lowkey to do.

Fantastic experience: Grandparents with three grandchildren 7,5 and three It cost us around $160 for tickets online. I was quite surprised that they put a time of entry on them but I guess itās too scatter the admission throughout the day. Give yourselves a good two hours to wander through slowly and take in all the activity and viewings inside. We took a packed lunch and cold drinks with us and we had that in front of the big window towards the end It really isnāt anything Iād like to change Because the whole experience was educational and fun and you didnāt know what was around the corner The best thing we enjoyed was the penguins on ice And make sure you take the boat ride They fill the boat pretty quickly itās really well worthwhile to do it You pay enough money to go and see it so why not do it all? There is a virtual reality booth which is $18 a person and the two older children had fun doing that you pay for it upon entry to the VR booth I take your photos as you enter, but youāre not expected to buy them You can take cameras, you can wear anything Thank you for the lovely day. We finished it with ice cream sitting looking at the water outside.

Fantastic experience: I bought a multi ticket to see four different experiences. Wild Life Zoo? Done! Madame Tussauds? Done! Sea Life Aquarium? Done! All fantastic experiences. I originally thought that the aquarium would have been the least interesting for me, but I have just completed an interesting 50-minute walk through the aquarium - and that was without stopping to read the information. Thoroughly recommended! I am off to the Sydney Tower Eye this afternoon, which I have done before and know will be fantastic.

Positive experience: Went for my mokopunas 3rd birthday. Had 6 different cars in our party. 2 boys with significant sensory needs in my family. They did really well. All the kids enjoyed it. Maybe not as much v as the y could have as it was packed.

Positive experience: As far as aquariums go, this one is just ok. There are several interesting fish to see. Feels very touristy and was a bit crowded so you just followed along in the queue, not really getting to pause in any one location without being in the way. Starts off a little cheesy but does get more interesting as you go along. Good activity for young children or looking for an indoor activity to get out of the weather.

Fantastic experience: Last year, I visited Sydney as an exchange student, and I always wanted to go to SEA LIFE Sydney for once in my life. I planned to visit with my friend, but ended up going alone because she found the problem with the public transportation around her home stay. It was holiday, full of people but I found it was nice because it made me feel less lonely going there alone. The staffs were really nice to me making me felt so happy, and thought it was worth to visit. I asked a female staff to take pictures of me because I wanted to share them to my family that wasn't in Sydney with me. She was so willing to help me and even guided me how to take perfect pictures with fish. I was so happy and appreciated it. The experience makes me want to visit Sydney for visiting Sea Life Sydney again. And also encourages me to travel alone and enjoy the time with myself more, thank you.ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļø

Fantastic experience: It's a must place if you are in Sydney. You will get to see not only various kinds of fish, but you can also touch star fish. You can see penguins & can have a boat ride to see them closely. The best part is the tube, on passing it you will see the shark & various other beautiful fishes too. Take at least 3 hours with you to visit this place & yes you will also find a souvenir shop in the end.

Fantastic experience: The aquarium was larger than I expected, and the variety of marine life was truly impressive ā itās definitely worth a visit. You can easily spend 2 to 3 hours here, making it a great spot for families with children. Itās a wonderful opportunity for kids to learn about and connect with the ocean. Hopefully, experiences like this will inspire more people to care about marine ecosystems and help preserve these natural wonders for the future.

Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful experience going to Sea Life Sydney with a friend. We did the Penguin Encounter experience together and it was a unique time that we both enjoyed and appreciated. Andrew, Steph and Jeff took care of us and were all absolutely wonderful. We learnt so much about Penguins that we didn't know beforehand, and it was so fun to watch them frolic and swim about, and they were super curious and interested in us too. They all had unique personalities and were so cool to watch be themselves It was kinda magical, and something I'm glad to have experienced. The rest of the aquarium was fun to explore afterwards, and all in all we had a wonderful time at Sea Life. Thanks again to Andrew, Steph and Jeff, they really took care of us and absolutely enhanced our experience!

Positive experience: The inside is spacious, and various sea creatures are on display. In particular, the "Shark Walk" offers an exciting experience of watching sharks and rays swim overhead. The "Penguin Expedition" allows you to take a boat ride to observe the penguins' habitat up close, which was very popular with children.

Fantastic experience: Went to see the animal crossing collab. Decent sealife. Enjoyed seeing pig. Good to visit at least once.

Positive experience: Quite enjoyable if you can go at your own pace. Penguin ride was a bit underwhelming but still an experience worth going. Bring a jacket. It can get a bit crowded.

Negative experience: Previous visits have been 5 . But today was a horrible experience. Birthday party of 10, and from the moment we should in the line to get into the moment, we made our escape 99 minutes later. We stood shoulder to shoulder like cattle only moving with the crowd to prevent getting stampled on. You couldn't independently make a decision to go anywhere except where the crowd was taking you. The line to the sharks tunnel snaked all the way uo the ramp to the surface and probably further out with only walking forward a few steps every 5 minutes. It didn't feel at all like they had a cap of visitors, and in case of an emergency, there would have been no safe place to go. Staff were overpowered to move the crowd on due to the sheer size and noise. Will be a long time before I return.

Positive experience: Usually a great experience - but the lines and flow of people was significantly hindered by the volume of prams. Would be much better if prams were better controlled. There are also limited toilet options while inside - this is challenging with kids + queues. On a busy day - itās a bit of a waste of money with kids. To avoid delays and lines, and make the most of the money spent - Iād recommend visiting on a weekday or during a time (early etc) where prams will be limited.

Fantastic experience: Just a lovely little time visiting the Animal Crossing exhibit at Sealife and reading all the fish facts. Pig the Dugong and the jelly fish room were highlights. Wouldnāt recommend coming here on the weekend if you can help it and wouldnāt recommend waiting more than 10mins for the penguin Macquarie expedition ride.

Fantastic experience: Really impressed with the Sydney Aquarium! Such a good variety of marine life and the displays are absolutely beautiful. The kids loved the sharks and penguins, and walking through the underwater tunnels was a definite highlight. Both kids really like the VR experience too. Everything was really well set up and easy to navigate. Great day out and well worth a visit if youāre in Sydney.

Fantastic experience: Been to the aquarium many times. Came for the Animal Crossing X SeaLife exhibit. Unfortunately didn't get to meet Isabel but completed the stamp rally! Attaching meet & greet times for anyone else who comes with a little snippet of what's inside. Also, if you can, visit on a weekday! I entered at 3pm and there was barely anyone there, the penguin ride was closed but got to see Dugongs eating, sharks mating and penguins fighting. Lastly, I'm a FT uni student - you can get a discount student ticket! Just show your student ID at the door

Positive experience: The aquarium is a significant cost for a family, especially when it's only a half day activity. Lines were long and slow moving to get in, and once you got inside, it was overly crowded. Significant waits to see the tanks, which is obviously difficult for children. There are tablets next to the tanks to read the information, however this means you can't read it from a few people back, and if anyone else touches it, you lose your page of information. It was better with larger plaques/signs so you didn't have to be right in front of it to read/control the information. As a result, we couldn't discuss all the various fish and animals in the tanks, as we weren't able to see the information to pass along to the child. There is a tiny cafe area halfway through the aquarium, but very minimal space to sit and eat/drink. It's around the dugong tank, with some bench seats and a small number of tables. Difficult to stop for a snack. Inside was extremely humid, which I would expect at the aquarium, but then after a line up of ~1 hour to go on the penguin boat ride, it is absolutely freezing (bring a jacket for any children!) Overall, an expensive way to spend half a day, but my child still had a good time.

Fantastic experience: My friend and I went to the aquarium for the penguin encounter. We had Xander and Allyra hosting us and they both were beyond amazing. First Xander met us outside and went over safety questions. He mentioned some of the spirited penguins to prepare us for what we might encounter. He then brought us inside and Allyra gave us more information about the penguins while we were in the enclosure. Both of our guides were very informative and really funny and easy going. Overall the experience was amazing and Iām glad I got to do it with Xander and Allyra. The rest of the staff at the aquarium were also warm and welcoming. They helped my friend and I get throughout the aquarium.

Fantastic experience: the place is good but prepare to walk in circles for hours due to how the in and outs are shaped, also more things to do would be good even if it was extra charge such as diving or a boat ride, overall great experience but we definitely need a mich bigger and more open place in sydney
