North East Koi

Fantastic experience: 1st time visiting North East Koi and what an amazing shop to visit and to buy some top quality fish from. If you have any worries or questions the owners are always there to help. Would recommend to anyone whos interested in fish keeping. I will certainly be visiting again i would go as far as saying this is my new shop for purchasing ALL my Koi from.

Fantastic experience: Keeping fish has beern a steep learning curve as we inherited them with our new house. We need to transport our biggest koi, having no idea how we asked the lovely ladies at North East Koi for advice. They were extremely helpful, explained how go about it and put together a package of bags, a box etc to move him in. We will be back here to purchase our pond needs and fish in the future.

Fantastic experience: Excellent place to by kit , the staff are well clued up , just purchased a new pump and uv unit , cheapest in the north east by far.

Negative experience: Staff completely uninterested and unhelpful, didn’t even look up to say hello, very small and limited selection of tropical fish, won’t be visiting again!

Fantastic experience: Superb shop. Always helpful. Great prices on tropical fish, plants and accessories. They are always willing to give good advice. Bought a lovely Aqua One set up in January off them. Very good price.

Negative experience: Staff were rude and didn't even reply when I said hello. Very expensive for their products too went to a different supplier.

Positive experience: Good set of products good koi but felt really awkward and unfriendly not even a welcome on the way in when we were the only ones in the shop . Will give it Another shot but almost felt unwelcome . Lots of parking good plants ☘️

Negative experience: Visited this store today, walked through the door and got a box shoved in my face, and the woman just said face mask (no hello or welcome or please)…me and my partner looked around and the staff did nothing to offer any help or assistance, they came across very lazy and unwelcoming. We had chosen the get harlequin rasbora and all my partner said was could you try to get the slightly larger ones as the others would be too small for my tank and the woman said you get what you get we won’t hand pick fish due to social distancing. By this point we were very tempted to just leave.

Fantastic experience: Trouble with my koi.....they were spot on, told me how to treat and had treatments. Been again for flukes and they scraped and diagnosed straight away. Highly competent, helpfull and a pleasure to deal with. Nothing has been too much trouble and advice always given. I dont need anywhere else.

Negative experience: I, like many suffer with C.O.P.D, i struggle to breath without a mask never mind with one, so I am excempt from wearing one, i have a badge i wear to show this and also a lanyard, i am registered disabled. I went to go into the shop and was told "not without a mask" when i explained i was excempt and showed my badge and lanyard, i also pointed out my blue badge on my car, i was still told, "NO" I think.its amazing how i was disgriminated against just because i have C.O.P.D and cant wear a mask. I went elsewhere to buy a new aquarium set up which cost me over £300, I know not to go there again.

Fantastic experience: Even in these difficult times, the staff there is wonderful and welcoming, putting above all safety measures for their customers. We felt welcome, the prices are ok and of course we bought some tropical fish for our aquarium. You can even find a rich assortment of accessories there, in addition to the stock of live fish and plants. We will definitely come back!

Fantastic experience: I went to North East koi for some advice after thinking I had some parasites in my Pond, the lady I spoke to was extremely helpful, I took one of my fish and she scraped his scales and checked the mucus to find that I did have then advised me of how to fix the issue, I'm new to fish keeping and am really thankful to find such knowledgeable people who are able to share that knowledge, I will definitely be returning and would advise anyone who keeps fish in the north east to drop in for advice/ pond products / fish, its worth dropping in just to see the fish they have, thank you north east koi

Positive experience: First things first, the wood choice isn’t good. So if you’re looking for wood like I was it isn’t your place! That is the sole reason for losing a star. I was seriously impressed with the supply of Esha products. I bought some I didn’t even know existed, I was very happy with that! I got some vitamins and minerals for my water. I’d happily go back just for those. I forgot to even look for tropica plant food which was one reason I went. Also their dog is amazing and I wish I could have went into the back just to see him/her lol!
