Positive experience: A short but very memorable visit, with the hand feeding of the mullet being a real highlight. At £10 per person over 15 years old, it seemed expensive for a relatively small display. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff

Fantastic experience: Great aquarium for the whole family. We really enjoyed visiting here. They have a great variety of sea creatures and you even have the opportunity to feed the fish. Great fun for the kids!

Aled Davies 2 months ago

Negative experience: Friendly passionate staff. But impossible to hide the fact that this is a minuscule aquarium, 10m long in total, with around 15 different fish. You’ll be done in 10-15mins. So insanely expensive for £39 for a family of 4.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic place, visited with a large group of family while celebrating a 40th birthday. The staff were so attentive and kind. They made the experience so enjoyable for us all. Great to learn and interact with the sea creatures with them.

Fantastic experience: Such a great experience I had here yesterday, the lovely young lady who was working was so unbelievably nice and welcoming, great with the kids and showing us all the starfish and giving us her knowledge i was learning myself. Throughly enjoyed this aquarium and you continued even feed the fish which was such a great experience and the kids absolutely loved it!! Thanks again to the young lady who was working Saturday 7th July, you really did make our experience!!

Fantastic experience: Beautifully maintained. The staff are always friendly and go to great lengths to engage the little ones. Well worth a visit

Negative experience: Spent £20 and 5 minutes in there and that was going around it twice

Karl Dobson 2 months ago

Negative experience: Went there today fed the Mullet saw everything in under 10 minutes and all for just £10 each

Positive experience: Stopped here whilst on holiday. It was quite small, but was a good bit of fun! We fed the fish, wife held a starfish, definatly worth the experiance to kill 15 mins! Staff very helpful and accommodating. £10 per adult and £3 to feed fish did seem a bit steep for size, think £6-7 would be more appropriate, but we did enjoy it

Helbera 3 months ago

Positive experience: Very interesting facts about the local marine life. Opportunity to feed the fish. Friendly staff. Tho only thing I would say is it is a little expensive for the size of the place.

Fantastic experience: Lovely little aquarium, my husband and I came here to have a look round and feed the mullet, it was a fab experience and would recommend to anyone spending the day in Lyme Regis

Leanne Girardi 3 months ago

Positive experience: This is a lovely little aquarium to visit. You can hand feed the mullet which was lots of fun for the whole family. We were also able to hold a starfish and the staff on site were extremely knowledgable about the different sea creatures there. Maybe a little overpriced for the size of the aquarium but fun none the less.

Fantastic experience: Wholesome family fun at this cute aquarium in Lyme Regis. You can feed some of the fish and they literally kiss your hands! You can also hold star fish! The kids loved it once they got over their initial fears. Now an annual event for us and it never disappoints Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: What a wonderful aquarium in Lyme Regis. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit in May half-term, and although the aquarium is small, you're treated like an old friend from beginning to end. The owner talked us through the history of the aquarium and showed us how to hand-feed the mullet, which was a fantastic experience for all of us! Our children were then able to hold starfish and take a look at all of the local marine life that the aquarium had to offer. We felt the price was extremely reasonable for the intimacy of the aquarium and to keep such a wonderful treasure open to the public. Would definitely recommend and return in the future.

Fantastic experience: Lovely small aquarium , lots of locally found species, ideal for children as you are able to feed and ‘tickle’ the fish. Also the lady let us hold a starfish. Very engaging for young and old alike.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant little aquarium where you get to feed grey mullet from your hand. Ran by a very friendly and knowledgeable young lady. Not a huge place, but well worth a visit

Fantastic experience: Amazing vist, was really fun. We got to each hold a starfish and feed some fishes out of our hands. Everyone working there was very friendly and was very knowledgeable. For £10 each it was a great, unique experience

Fantastic experience: The kids had a fantastic time feeding the fish by hand, getting up close with them. The guide was friendly, helpful, and skillfully managed multiple tasks at once.

Fantastic experience: Lovely little aquarium, we got to feed the fish and hold a star fish, very personal feel to it with a lovely guy running the place. He made us all feel very welcome and even gave him a colouring sheet to takeaway and complete. Not long needed to get around the tanks but more importantly the fish in there aren't just fish from far away but actually the fish from around Lyme and the UK. Much more immersive than any large aquarium I have been to, thank you we will visit again!

Fantastic experience: A unique, wonderful experience and a gem on the south coast. My family and I loved it, the moment to hold a starfish was amazing and I have never seen mullet so up close. It’s a fascinating insight into the local fish around Lyme Regis. Would definitely recommend and go again.

Ewa Podolska 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: We totally loved it! We fed the fish and that was so exciting experience! Lovely lady who was running it fed sharks so we could see it! Great thing about it is that it's more a conservation space then commercial aquarium and all inhabitants are accidental fisherman catches, that are being that are being taken care of until they are strong and healthy enough to be let back to the sea. We stayed much longer then we planned, hahaha!

Reece Charlton 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: Really lovely bloke, very knowledgeable and showed us around. Mullet feeding was brilliant and so was holding the starfish as well.

Positive experience: Very small family run. You can feed the fish, they take it out of your hand. I loved feeding the fish. Also got to touch a star fish.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely incredible. Lovely guy showed us in, how to feed the fish, and let us hold and take pictures with the Starfish from the tank. Will definitely come back to feed the Mullets!!!

Fantastic experience: Had a great time visiting. Learnt a lot about local fish etc. Jenna told us lots of interesting and fun facts and answered all our questions. Got to feed fish by hand and was shown other things close up. Had a really good time and recommend going.

Fantastic experience: We had a really special time here today. We are on a little family holiday and our 2.5 year olds who love anything to do with fish / animals. What made it special was the amazing lady who works there. I am gutted I didn’t get her name but she is absolutely incredible. So knowledgeable. A natural people person and is excellent with the little ones. What an absolute credit to the company. She got the kids involved in whatever she was doing even if it was feeding the birds outside. Thank you so much for such a great experience and we will absolutely be back soon, maybe even in the next few days and the kids keep asking to go back!

Fantastic experience: Great little marine aquarium. The staff there were amazing!

Doram Jacoby 11 months ago

Positive experience: A very small aquarium consisting of something like 2 rooms. But the staff are very nice and helpful and we could feed the fish and touch a star-fish. They also joined us for a bit to answer any questions about the fish they have.

James McAdams 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: Just a delightful little place. It's pretty small, but there's still plenty to see. Feeding the mullet was great fun (such a weird feeling), and we got to stroke a starfish. The staff member on duty when we were there was really friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help. If we took our time to take everything in and read all the material around we could have filled a bit more time, but as it was we just had a nice hour there.

Liz Windridge 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: Small aquarium with examples of local sea life well displayed. Children loved feeding the mullet and the chance to hold a starfish under supervision. Great activity for a wet afternoon. Perhaps a tad pricey.

Tania Chomicz 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: Lovely little aquarium, lovely people. Feed the fishes, hold the star fish. It's only small, but a nice little addition to your day if you participate

Helen Hare 11 months ago

Negative experience: Advertised as open. Was closed. Disappointed! Apparently a local told me it is closed down. ?

Catherine Lay 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: It's not huge or impressive, but hand feeding the fish was a lovely experience, as was holding a starfish. I suspect I am a few decades older than the target audience but it very much wasn't presented as only for the children.

Cthulhu Keeper 11 months ago

Fantastic experience: Fun two room aquarium. Not extensive, but there are a lot of exhibits of local sea life. The family got a lot of amusement out of feeding the mullets (straight out of your hand) and handling a starfish, under supervision.

Teri Lee Ann 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: The aquarium really made our visit to Lyme Regis, my children haven't stopped talking about it since. The lady working on reception was so attentive and informative. We fed the fish by hand and then my children held a starfish each while the lady explained all about them. We also took our sausage dog who loved her first trip to an aquarium and was amused by the fish. It is a small aquarium but I'm so glad we went, it was worth every penny. I would recommend it to anyone, but especially children, so awesome to get a hands on experience with the fish.

Fantastic experience: This is a great little aquarium with friendly and informative staff. It’s really interactive - i got to feed some very cute grey mullet fish and hold a starfish! Very affordable too. Thank you to the staff member showing me around, she was fantastic!

Fantastic experience: Superb little aquarium. The staff member on duty- Jenna- spent ages explaining the fish to us. We fed - and stroked- Mullet, handled starfish, watched the velvet crab being fed. Much more engaging than an aquarium many times the size would be because of this personal and engaging touch. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: A small but wonderful aquarium, I didn't know it was there until someone told me about it. My son and I enjoyed a good hour there. We fed grey mullet from our hands and got to hold and touch a starfish too. Would recommend to anyone with children.

Fantastic experience: Small but perfectly formed! The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and took time to answer any and all questions. Feeding the fish was lots of fun!

Chris Jarvis 1 year ago

Negative experience: Save your money. You'll get more out of a visit to your local pets at home £36 for a family of a and it took us 10 minutes max

Jon Clark 1 year ago

Negative experience: Adult price is £10 each children over 3 is £8 DO NOT BOTHER! This is the biggest waste of money I’ve ever spent! We paid £28 and the “experience” lasted 15 minutes!! Absolutely pathetic!!!!

Jon Elliott 1 year ago

Negative experience: Save your money folks. £36 for 2 adults and 2 kids to see a few mullet wrasse and starfish. Nice bloke running it but he’s taking the Michael charging that. You could be in and out in 10 mins, no drama.

Richy Beech 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: A small but brilliantly run little aquarium. They go above and beyond for their customers. We loved feeding the fish and a young lad showed, and let my daughter stroke , a live starfish. We would highly recommend this place

Terry Boyd 1 year ago

Positive experience: Great experience for the kids to see local wildlife, staff were patient and enthusiastic.

ben padfield 1 year ago

Positive experience: Nice little aquarium and kids had fun feeding the mullet, staff very friendly and great with the kids but it is completely overpriced £10 per adult and £8 per child for something you can do for 30 mins tops and that’s dragging it out. For a family of 4 you could nearly do a day out for the money.

Josie Mellor 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Amazing little aquarium where you can hand-feed some of the fish! Dog friendly too as long as they're well behaved near the lower tanks. Absolutely loved it and would definitely go back if we were in the area again

Fantastic experience: Excellent place to learn about our coast, value for money if you take the time to read all the information and dont just rush through. Boys loved feeding the mullet and speaking to the staff who had time (even on a busy day) to answer their questions. Would highly recommend as a lovely little place to support

Christopher Humphreys 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: On a wim we headed to Lyme Regis and I saw the aquarium on things to do. I'm really glad we did. Where in the world can you hand feed mullet and they're such wonderful fish. Also its really great to see how weavers Bury in the sand. Everything is clearly well looked after. Brilliant time and if you read everything its well worth the time and money.

Fantastic experience: Excellent little aquarium. Brought to life by the friendly and welcoming staff. Even identified a baby cod we caught whilst crabbing. Fully recommend a visit!

Amanda Lindermere 1 year ago

Positive experience: Don’t be fooled it is TINY and your local fish shop is most likely bigger. But we did get to feed the mullet by hand and hold a star fish. All I think is worth knowing Is your paying £10 per adult for 2 rooms! So overprice I feel.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant little find. Really lovely lady on the desk was so knowledgeable about the marine life, she let's you hand feed the fish and also you can hold a star fish! This was such a beautiful ending to a fantastic week at Lyme Regis. This place is a must for anyone at any age. 10/10

Sally Summers 1 year ago

Positive experience: A very small aquarium at the end of the cobb, a nice experience with mullet feeding and starfish handling included. Costs about £10 per adult which is insanely steep, and we spent about 15-20 minutes there in total whilst trying to be as slow as possible. Could do with sprucing up and the fish don't have very exciting tanks which is depressing.

ProSecure Locksmiths 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Great little aquarium, definitely worth a visit. Good entertainment for an hour or so, the highlight is definitely feeding the shoals of grey mullet by hand!

Sarah Holland 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: My husband and I took our 2 year old son to the aquarium today and we all absolutely loved it. The woman working there made the experience extra special; she was wonderfully kind and welcoming to us and our little boy, who was very enthusiastic about his experience! Special praise to her (sadly we didn't get her name) as she was so kind, patient and encouraging helping our son to hold the starfish and she obviously cared about all the sea creatures as she was very knowledgeable and passionate. We all learned a lot today. Thank you so much!

Fantastic experience: Visited 3/04/2024, such a good little addition to the harbour. We got welcomed by a lovely man who showed us how to hand feed the mullet fish which he’s has trained to eat from the hand. Such a great experience and children will love the way it’s more interactive. We then went into the other side of the aquarium and saw lots of fish, lobster & crabs. We then got to hold a star fish and learn about them. Such a great experience!

Fantastic experience: We really enjoyed this little place. It is really small, but you learn quite a lot about the history and the fish and other creatures in the waters around. Hand feeding the mullet was a special treat. We see all the work behind this aquarium and we will come again to support the owners with our entrance fee and to feed the fish.

Fantastic experience: Hidden gem! Got to feed the mullets, and hold a starfish! Absolutley worth the money!

Barney 1 year ago

Positive experience: We visited during half term and spent about 45mins here. The staff were really friendly and knowledgeable and I can't fault their service. I also enjoyed that you could feed the grey mullet and hold a star fish. The displays were interesting but as other reviewers have said, it is a very small aquarium. I think the entrance price is far too much. We paid £28 for two adults and a child, which doesn't represent great value for money given the time that you would expect to spend here. I would visit again if the price was a bit more reasonable. Perhaps they could offer return entry for free for a year, as many similar businesses do?

Fantastic experience: I’ve been living here for four years and thought I’d give it a try with my son, he thoroughly enjoyed it and particularly enjoyed feeding the fish. £18 for us both and we were there for just under an hour as we read all the wonderful information about the local marine life. It’s small so don’t expect a sea life centre but the staff are friendly and we both will be going again

Jon Tomlin 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Lyme Regis aquarium is assured of giving you a warm and friendly welcome. This is a bright, cheerful and fascinating location positioned on the Cobb. The aquarium exhibits an assortment of sea fishes, lobsters and starfish all of which look extrememy comfortable in their watery surroundings. The multi-coloured Wrasse add a sense of carnival to their individual tanks.and the young Mullet are always keen to have their tummies tickled. Whilst walking on the Cobb make a point of stopping at the aquarimium and take in the recentky unveiled displays. You'll be glad you did!

Fantastic experience: Great fun, knowledgeable staff. It's not a big posh aquarium but you can feed the mullet and hold the starfish and there's lots of animals to see. We all enjoyed it

Daniel Caen 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: We came here today and what fabulous surprise it was. My son is 7, absolutely loves fish and all things fish related. We entered and the owner instantly engaged my son (who can be very shy), he allowed him to feed the mullet on multiple occasions, which my son was absolutely gobsmacked with. He got to feed/touch the fish, hold a star fish and even on the way out he was given 2 shells which he is going to take to his class to show off when back at school. All in all a very pleasant experience made even nicer by the staff who were so lovely today.

Negative experience: Friendly staff, but it's a rip off. £30+ for a few tanks filled with sea life is not good value for money. Save your money and go get a fish supper.

Fantastic experience: A lovely experience feeding the mullet and holding the starfish. The Aquarium is small but full of exhibits and interesting posters explaining details of the different fish and even the work done shooting 3 films at Lyme Regis. The young man there was so friendly, informative and pleasant and the fishtanks and surroundings were spotlessly clean. No peering into grimy tanks hoping to spot the inhabitants here !! I thoroughly enjoyed my visit on my first trip to Lyme Regis

Helen Munday 1 year ago

Fantastic experience: Lovely little aquarium displaying local marine life. Jenna was amazing - really enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Hand feeding the grey mullet was a highlight as was holding a starfish. Maybe a little expensive for what it is but for us it was definitely money well spent.

Fantastic experience: Small but perfectly formed, this wonderful gem at the end of the harbour in Lyme Regis is an experience not to miss. At first glance the price does seem high but please do not be put off, it is more than worth it. Feeding the mullet with my 4 year old son is a memory I will cherish for a long time. His delight at the fish eating the food right out of my hand was worth the entrance price alone. Also the chap (son of the owner I beleive) could not have been more helpful and welcoming. He spent so much time with us and my son, who is usally very shy and will hide away from strangers, really took to him and even stroked the star fish and spoke to him. I would highly recommend this attraction and the great people that run it.

Fantastic experience: I had a wonderful time at the Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium. The aquarium is located in the heart of Lyme Regis, just a short walk from the beach. It is a small but well-curated aquarium with a variety of local sea creatures on display. The highlight of the aquarium is the opportunity to feed the mullet fish. The mullets come up in groups and it is a lot of fun to see them swimming around and eating the food. I also enjoyed holding a starfish. It was a little bit ticklish, but it was a cool experience to get up close to one of these creatures. The aquarium also has a number of other exhibits, including a tank of other fish and crabs. There is also a tank where you can see crabs and other creatures. The aquarium is well-maintained and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend the Lyme Regis Marine Aquarium to anyone visiting Lyme Regis. There is a gift shop on site where you can buy souvenirs and gifts related to the aquarium.

Fantastic experience: A unique experience for our granddaughter age 6 who loved hand feeding the mullet so much. The aquarium is well thought out with easy viewing and space to move at leisure. The staff made us feel welcome and shared their knowledge. The surfaces were the feeding took place were cleaned regularly and we were given soap on exit so that we could wash our hands as we left. We will be back on our next visit to Lyme Regis.

Negative experience: Having now been, I would not encourage others to go. Very very small, you can be in and out in 15 mins. So for a family of 5, it cost £45 , extortionate for what there is. Yes, you can feed the fish and hold a starfish, but that's it. It should be £3 per person and no more.

keeley rodgers 2 years ago

Positive experience: Lovely, small aquarium. Surprising though as the cost led me to believe it was a lot bigger with much more to do. £9 per adult and £6 a child is extortionate for the amount of time spent in there.

Dorothy Dwyer 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: I took my 3 teenagers and they really enjoyed the interactions with the fish, etc. The staff were helpful in explaining about the fish, etc. It was a good experience for our 3.

Marie Campbell 2 years ago

Positive experience: Really friendly, lovely young gentleman let my boys hold a starfish, and the boys fed some of the fish, you can see crabs, lobsters and local fish but the price of over £30 for a family of 4 for 15-20mins tops, is just too much for what little is in there, my only hope is that the money goes to conservation.

Jenny Chase 2 years ago

Fantastic experience: Great little aquarium with the chance to hand-feed mullet. The five-year-old was very happy about this.

S T 2 years ago

Negative experience: Apart from handfeeding the mullets, this was way too pricey for a VERY small aquarium that cost £52 for four adults and a child for a ten minute experience

Doeke Scheper 2 years ago

Negative experience: The fish are treated very badly. They have fin rot, and they have no swimming space. So don't go here it costs wey too much, and you promote fish abuse.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic afternoon spent here. Very friendly knowledgeable staff and very child friendly. My children enjoyed feeding the fish and holding a star fish. It is small so not an all day thing but we spent a good hour if nor longer there and loved every second. Everything is from the local area which is amazing really to be so close to it. Very much worth a visit and worth every penny. Thank you to the lovely man there yesterday who made us feel so welcome
