Fantastic experience: I recently purchased a 5ft fish tank from this establishment, and I am extremely impressed with the level of customer service provided. The delivery process was seamless—prior to delivery, the team called to ensure I had enough time to rearrange my space, which was a thoughtful touch. After setting up the tank, I returned to the store as I encountered some difficulty with the glass top, particularly when trying to place items within the aquarium. I approached a staff member for guidance, and without hesitation, he assisted me in selecting the appropriate accessories. Not only did he recommend the ideal fit, but he also demonstrated how they would work, which greatly boosted my confidence in my setup. This was only my second visit to the store, and I felt well-supported throughout the entire experience. I highly recommend this establishment for its exceptional customer care and knowledgeable staff.

They are very informative and eager to assist. Whatever my reason for visiting is it is always a pleasant experience, I whole heartedly recommend a visit and although I haven't tried it yet the inhouse cafe/coffee bar is also a very popular venue.

Fantastic experience: This is mine and my husbands favourite garden centre (and we spend a lot of time in them!). The staff are always super friendly and helpful. There is a great stock of both pond and aquarium fish, we've had many and they have all been healthy. Staff are knowledgeable and ask questions before you buy to ensure that the fish are right for you but also so the fish have everything they need which is really nice to see as some places will sell anything to anyone. The outdoor plant area is well kept and well stocked and reasonably priced. We have bought many pond plants from here that we were unable to find elsewhere. Anything you need for your fish tank or pond you will find here and if they don't have it I bet they'd let you know where you can get it! There is also an area that sells small gifts and cards. The cafe is great, very fairly priced and gorgeous food and the staff are attentive and friendly.

Fantastic experience: Called in with the dogs for a late breakfast, the food quality was superb at a reasonable price. Everything freshly cooked to order. There's a dedicated doggy area, thankfully inside. Treats and water for the dogs. Interesting and good selection of pond plants. We also enjoyed looking at the Axolotyls.

Negative experience: Very disappointed with the service went to buy a fish and because we had a certain fish already wouldn’t sell it to us but surely that our choice as we had the fish before which was fine so I think recommend fine but do t lose customers as I won’t be going there again Further to your response yet last year your sales person talked me into buying some fish I was unsure about and told me I wouldn’t have a problem as their fast swimmers but yet they never lasted the night as I predicted. I know my own fish and temperament yet you can’t take that in to consideration I’ll be going elsewhere in future where I’m actually listened too.

Negative experience: First & last time we will be visiting the cafe here! 45 minuite wait for a pathetic looking tuna melt sandwich. £8.45!!!!!! Nothing else on the plate, apparently if we wanted side salad it was 50p extra. Come on guys ...wayyyy over priced for what we got. We were asked if everything was OK & when I gave my concerns was told its due to prices going up etc. There were 4 members of staff serving there & it's only a small place. Maybe cut the staff down & charge a reasonable price for food

Fantastic experience: I recently visited this pet and fish store, and it was a fantastic experience! The store was very clean and well-organized, making it easy to find everything I needed. The staff was friendly and went above and beyond in helping me. They provided a lot of useful information for setting up and maintaining my tank, clearly knowledgeable and eager to help. Pricing was reasonable, with a good selection of fish, tank accessories, and supplies to choose from. It’s definitely a great spot for anyone looking to start or expand their aquarium. Fantastic experience: Well, where do I begin? Firstly, I’d suggest you grab a cup of tea or coffee or whatever your favourite drink is. You could pop along to this garden and water centre and have a drink there whilst you read this review. You may need it. I’m a bit of an old dinosaur. A Yorkshireman who likes to moan and groan. I’m sure you’ve all met and know me very well. This isn’t a sprawling garden centre with a mosaic of concrete floors or roofs that look as if they wouldn’t remain fixed if the wind got up a little. Nope. It’s not got oodles of items stacked on pallets, nor the latest bargains at knock down prices. But … • The staff are all; o very friendly o extremely knowledgeable – beyond anything I’ve experienced in all my, way too many, years o unbelievably patient o polite, happy, relaxed, helpful, considerate, thoughtful, o kind, very kind indeed • The Café and food is; o competitively priced o hot o delicious o served promptly – they bring your drinks to the table before your food arrives o very clean, very tidy, exceedingly pleasant • The incredible bits; o tea is served in a large porcelain tea pot. Yup, one that doesn’t pour five gallons of water on the table. Oh, my word, pure heaven. o the porcelain cups are large and a pot of tea for 2 people has a smaller pot of hot water for top ups • Did I mention; o how kind and friendly all of the staff are o the large porcelain tea pot that doesn’t leak There’s a well organised section for each of the items they stock. Their knowledge of tropical and saltwater fish is, quite frankly, to be envied. There’s plenty of room to move around and explore each area. This specialist outlet has remained firmly focused on the core retail fundamentals; • good friendly knowledgeable service • clean, tidy with space to move around and browse It doesn’t “stack em high and sell em cheap”. In my, somewhat humble opinion, with the value I’ve alluded to above it doesn’t have to. As many of you will know, it takes a Yorkshireman a good week to find his wallet, and another week after that to remember the code to its lock. We’re not easily pleased when asked to spend our hard earned brass. Leaving a 5 Star review is as rare for me as it is opening my wallet. But … 5 Stars it is, not only with my thanks and appreciation but those of my better half and daughter. I’d like to leave you with my final words, if I may please. If you live local and enjoy a decent cafe or need support with your fish this garden and water garden centre is worth a visit.

Fantastic experience: We bought 2 gold fish for £12.50 each. Got them before 7 years ago, and they are still alive. Now we have a bigger pond, we bought another 2 ! Very helpful staff. We also bought 4 water plants and the lady (short curly hair) was very helpful and knowledgeable in recommending us what to get. Excellent customer service from her. Happy customer all round.

Fantastic experience: BEST FISH SHOP IN OR NEAR HULL!!! This shop is the best place to go when setting up or caring for a fish tank. The prices are really good, and fish are in a very healthy condition. Staff are friendly, and we go in here so regularly that we know each other haha. If the staff are reading this, you can probably guess who we are. We have bought 3 fish tanks from here, two being proper community tanks, and the third being a small quarantine tank. Also all the fish we have have come from here. Need any tips on setting up your first fish tank or looking after certain types of fish? Ask the staff! They are very happy to help. Fantastic experience: Me and my partner attended here yesterday afternoon and purchased a few supplies for our tanks. Unfortunately we weren't able to buy any live stock due to our schedule...Although the staff and particularly the gentleman that was busy cleaning the tanks were the most helpful I've come across at aquatic stores. We asked .any questions and he did not hesitate to answer us in depth with amazing knowledge and even took time to show us examples of certain things.... all whilst doing his routine tasks. This place is definitely one to visit and we will certainly be attending again on a more regular basis

Positive experience: Great variety of pond equipment, happy to find the selection, and the staff for the most part are super friendly and helpful. Although the blonde lady can be a bit condescending. Edit: To clarify, the 'Blonde Lady' Was used in an identifying manner (The rest of the staff were male). In no way is this a statement on gender capability - and more so a comment on customer service quality. The person in question had an immense amount of professional knowledge that is clear, the problem is in the civility and deliverability of that information. Don't ask me a question i haven't a clue about, then laugh when i explain i don't know, then don't provide a follow up or clarification. For clarity: Used to work in sales and deliveries, know how to speak to a clueless customer without laughing at them.

Fantastic experience: Great garden center, the only one in the area that has a good selection of pond plants. Knowledgeable staff and good selection of healthy plants. Not as many as somof the garden centres but i see this as a good thing, they have some more unusual plants and its obvious they are taken care off .

Fantastic experience: Lovely little garden centre. Great cafe and the plants are well cared for. The range of fish and tank accessories is great here, my little boy loves looking at all the fish and spotting the decorations in the tanks and I am always happy to see the tanks are so clean and well kept. Staff are very welcoming and helpful. My son loves the little stream and water features in the outdoors bit. To say it is only a small garden centre, I do always end up making a purchase when I come even when I don't plan to so I would say they have a good range of stock.

Positive experience: Nice place with plenty of fish and fish keeping products. Staff are helpful and informative. The animals seem to be healthy and well cared for. Some really nice coloured Betta fish to choose from. A nice little selection of water plants too. Unfortunately the outdoor pond section was closed, as its winter. The shop floor is clean and uncluttered, easy to get around. Some nice tank set ups on display. Will definitely be coming back in the future ^-^

Fantastic experience: Not been here for many years, just thought I'd go in and price some Fish tanks up. As I'm doing another setup, and was really surprised how much bigger it is from the last time I was here. Staff are friendly and approachable, will help you out if you need any information about products. Live Fish are kept ed in clean tanks a wide selection of fish for sale, (as this is where I used to buy my fish years ago). They have a little café inside to, Koi fish for sale aswell. Then of course there is the garden center which is good to, just waiting on phone call on Tuesday for purchasing a fish tank. Been a few weeks now since I got my fish tank, its all set up now and plants and fish are in. Will be buying all my fish from here, and still give good knowledge and information if needed.

Fantastic experience: Been coming for years and the recent visit was excellent. Great healthy selection of fish which are encouraged with different food to their preference. It's fun to see them munching a cucumber! Staff know the behaviours and characteristics of their fish and give great advice for your existing tank. Fish were cared for while catching them and well wrapped for the journey home.

Positive experience: We came here for tropical fish and also inspiration for our garden pond, was expecting more set ups out on show (ponds) Good choice of tropical fish but nothing unusual or any different to our local pet shop even. We traveled from scunthorpe and we left empty handed. Was a little disappointed tbh. Staff were lovely though. Cafe nice and clean, food was nice but over priced.

Negative experience: Atrocious customer service, manager was condescending, uneducated and useless, as was the young assistant. We bought 7 fish from them and within just under 3 weeks, our established aquarium of 4 years had been wiped out but everything was our fault or Yorkshire Water's. Took absolutely no responsibility, had a ridiculous answer for everything. There are plenty of places in the area where you can buy with confidence. AVOID!!!

Positive experience: Popped in to buy some pond plants, this was about the only place that had any as it's the wrong time of year. They explained that there wasn't much choice at this time of year with it being so cold but pointed us in the right direction. I was amazed at the size of the place. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable and there was even a cafe which I hadn't expected or I would have left room for coffee and cake after my lunch. Well worth a visit. They have a large aquatics section if that's your thing. I knocked a star off because there was a rather run down card and present bit which they'd be better off getting rid of if they're not intending to stock it properly. Well worth the other 4 stars though.

Negative experience: Nice and clean fish tanks and good selection of fish, but aftersale service very poor. We have bought two fish tanks from them and plenty of fish over the last year but on a recent purchase of fish one died just over 24hrs, we went into the shop explained the issue but was told these things can happen, and you must let us know ASAP within 24hrs as they are only guaranteed for this period. Also need proof and fish to be frozen if can not get next day. As we are full time at work this was only time we could go into the store 4 days after purchase, we have never been told about the 24hr gap and all other fish are fine so this fish was not OK when bought , the man we spoke to did nothing to try and assist or even consult a manager to replace the less than £5.00 fish. No good will gesture or anything, just anything else you require so had to buy another replacement fish, plus spent over £40.00 on other fish. We always go here for our aquarium supply's and they know we go in a lot I honestly thought they would of done more how wrong could I be... I would of given 5 star but customer service is always the top of any business to get good reviews and feel looked after.. reply to last response from owner did have receipt you did not ask and also we purchase todays fish after discussion with member of staff the conversation started as intended about the dead fish also wish to correct you on not everyone has a mobile phone my parents don't. I also did not ask for a free fish..... was seeing what response I got..

Positive experience: My wife and I have been shopping for pond supplies, for nearly 3 years. Fantastic experience: The staff are always cheerful and welcoming as soon as you step in. They seem to be really knowledgeable and if they cant answer your query they will always find another staff member around who can. Emma's Café is great, serving branded food & drinks, (what I mean is not cash & carry tasteless stuff that some places offer.) and menu is nice & simple. I actually think this café offers the best all day vegetarian breakfast in the area. One day I might even have room to try one of the Burgess ice cream that they sell. The only downside is that the toilets are slightly far from the main building. (other toilets are also nearby :) )

Negative experience: Not impressed by the attitude of the young man who i approached about the shubumkins I bought. He was very defensive and arrogant when I told him mine died after 10 days. I have bought all my fish from here over the last 10 years, but will not be buying anymore because of the young man's attitude. Ha needs to learn some social skills.

Fantastic experience: Pleasantly surprised. I was expecting a shed with a few aquariums. I took my grandaughter who was setting up a small tank. The assistants were ready and willing with advice. I didnt expect it to be a well stocked garden centre but plants were really well presented. There were a few at reduced prices but they were still good quality. Nice cafe too. All staff were polite and obliging. Well done all!

Positive experience: Could do with a solid path to toilets not good for wheelchair's. Staff very nice . . Nice little Cafe will try some food next time.
