š£ļø Bristol Aquarium: Reviews
Fantastic experience: All of our family loved the experience. Very clean, lots of information and huge selection of displays and fish!
Positive experience: Lovely place with friendly staff. So much to learn, small but resourceful . Plenty of variety to see and observe. Cafe and souvenir available .
Positive experience: Had a really good experience at the Aquarium. The displays and layout is very well done and the stamp collection card for the younger ones is a good touch too...... Its also really good that the ticket is valid all day, so you can come and go multiple times
Fantastic experience: You can kiss a fish and the fish kisses back, what more can you ask for?
Positive experience: The Bristol Aquarium was small but had a good pair of large tanks with interesting fish seen in different perspectives and many smaller tanks. I loved seeing the local aquatic life. They also emphasize plant species, both in the tank and older plant species from Jurassic on the walk around the aquarium.
Fantastic experience: Fantastic visit with the grand kids, entertaining and educational
Fantastic experience: Brilliant day out... the VR experience was truly out of this world. Try and get there for feeding time in the main tank area...really interesting talk from the people doing the feeding. Will definitely be back .
Positive experience: Had a good time at the aquarium! It wasn't too crowded (except at the Octopus talk - which was otherwise fab!) and there was many interesting fish and underwater creatures. However, I have been to better and bigger aquariums, so about £42 for two adults felt a little steep for about 1.5h - we went slow and took our time looking at all the fish.
Positive experience: Good aquarium with a variety of different areas to wonder through and enjoy. Perfect for kids/families however tickets are expensive for what it is.
Fantastic experience: My grandsons first birthday.... lovely for him to see the fish. Very accessible with pushchair....been before but I love aquariums.
Fantastic experience: Very quiet weekday at around 11am with our toddler. No queue. Great that you're able to leave and re-enter which meant we could walk round, leave for lunch and return to watch some of the feedings on the schedule. A great variety of sea life and the largest "tank" was absolutely stunning, I could have spent a whole afternoon watching that one alone. Gift shop is pricey but I think we've all come to expect that these days. Short, simple walk from Temple Meads station.
Positive experience: Weekend away with my partner and we decided to get tickets online on the day as it was raining. There was no queue to get in. A really nice perk was that you could visit numerous times throughout the day. After our first walk around we decided to have lunch at a near by restaurant and then go around a 2nd time. For me the first time was all about the information and looking but it was busy with younger children (as expected but a bit loud). The 2nd time around later in the afternoon and it was very quiet and relaxed. Not an all day event but really nice.
Fantastic experience: So many great talks and a lovely trip out! Nice and calm during the day, makes for a lovely wander.
Fantastic experience: I love it here! I used to have a yearly pass and would visit every week. The glass tunnel is beautiful and Iām a huge Sheila fan (see photo). There is a good range of species and they all seem happy and well cared for.
Negative experience: For a business linked to nature and conservation of wildlife, the amount of plastic packaging and items on sale was quite shocking. Can you consider more sustainable catering and packaging options?
Positive experience: It was nice trip, but place is very small, not worth yhe pricd of tickets.
Positive experience: Was smaller then thought but there was still a lot to look at. Helpful how you can leave and enter on the same ticket so great if children get restless. Talks throughout the day were engaging and allowed to q&a. Very informative. We went for my sonās 1st birthday and was a good couple of hours out.
Fantastic experience: Had an amazing day out here! The staff were well informed and gave great talks about all the different creatures! The octopus talk was our favourite. They had so so many amazing fish and other animals, I just canāt recommend enough.
Fantastic experience: Excellent facility with Wheelchair access. Cafe on site with a small shop with reasonable prices. Facilities were clean and easy to access. A variety of animals and they seem to be well looked after.
Fantastic experience: What a fantastic day out at Bristol Aquarium! We visited with the kids and they were absolutely mesmerised from start to finish. From the moment we walked in, the place had that magical underwater vibe ā glowing tanks, colourful fish, and even a giant octopus that stole the show! The underwater tunnel was pure wow ā watching rays and sharks glide overhead felt like stepping into another world. The kids were buzzing with excitement, and we loved how educational it was without ever feeling boring. The tropical rainforest zone was a fun surprise too ā fish and actual trees in the same space? Amazing! The staff were super friendly, happy to answer questions, and clearly passionate about marine life. Itās the kind of place that sparks curiosity and wonder in both kids and adults. Bristol Aquarium is a gem ā fun, interactive, and a great way to spend a few hours as a family. Weāll definitely be back! āļøāļøāļøāļøāļø
Negative experience: Paid over £50 for 2 adults and 1 child to walk around for 10 minutes. Price is way too high for what you get. The cafe is what you'd expect, £17.95 for a slice of bread and a whiff of a crisp. Their main attraction was the grouper fish. Stingrays were pretty cool.
Positive experience: A great use of space considering this aquarium is in central Bristol. Tickets are expensive for what the aquarium offers. That being said, my two year old loved her time there.
Positive experience: Initially when you enter you don't really think much, it's a large open building, it looks cheaply thrown together and wasn't very tidy, the inner entrance to the actual attraction was very underwhelming and the cafe was INCREDIBLY over priced. 3.50 for a small bottle of pop prior to going in put a massive down on the whole experience, avoid the cafe and I'd probably give 4 stars. Once you get inside and start to see the difference tanks with different species in you soon realise that a vast majority are local to our beaches, which makes sense and the conditions are easier to meet, there were some more exotic species, but not to the extent of other aquariums I have visited, but don't let that take anything away from the experience, they have used the space incredibly well and have everything you expect from an aquarium, and a few things you wouldn't, the tropics area was more of a plant tour which was refreshing, and in several places there are model dinosaurs, which made me wonder was this originally a dinosaur land attraction or a theme they were going to work on but never finished? We managed to catch one of the feeding sessions and the chap running it was incredibly friendly and spent ages with my children asking questions. The only other thing I can really say is that I only was one fish that I would consider huge, plenty of big ones but they lacked the wow factor. Overall it was a very good trip for the family, and like I said at the start, I would have probably given the place 4 stars if I didn't visit the cafe.
Fantastic experience: Amazing, fantastic and beautiful ! The staff are very friendly and super informative! We enjoyed the feeding times talks !
Fantastic experience: The jellyfish were particularly amazing!
Positive experience: We love aquariums so we had to go it's proberally not the best as it's rather small but it does have talk and feeding shows which was an added bonus oh and I found my new favourite aquatic animal a shrimp the shrimp were VERY interesting
Positive experience: I visited an aquarium recently and had a really pleasant experience. The exhibits were well-organised and featured a good variety of sea life including different kinds of fish, frogs, and other aquatic creatures. Everything was clean and easy to navigate, with clear labels and viewing areas. What stood out to me was that it wasnāt just limited to indoor tanks ā there was also a nice outdoor section with greenery, a small waterfall, and plants that added to the relaxing atmosphere. It felt like a good mix of learning and unwinding. Overall, it was a well-maintained and enjoyable place to spend a few hours.
Fantastic experience: A lot of cool things to see. Really nice environment, every staff member we spoke to were incredibly lovely and helpful and very informative. Would definitely recommend.
Positive experience: Other than parking, the place is awesome with lot many species of fish. My kids are very happy and content. Thank you for providing such a wonderful experience.
Positive experience: We took the kids, kids love fish. So they had fun, but this isn't a full day out like some other aquariums. It's very small, didn't even fill up a morning. You can keep going back in, your ticket lasts all day
Negative experience: So expensive... For not many sea creatures! I paid £21 and it only took around 30 mins to go through the whole aquarium. No really big fish, just loads of little ones... Bit underwhelming to be honest!
Fantastic experience: We love it here, calming & relaxing. Well informed staff who are willing to share their knowledge.
Fantastic experience: It was bank holiday weekend and it even though there was quite a lot of people, it was still easy to see the exhibits/fish - staff were lovely and all of them seemed to love answering my partners neverending questions about sting rays! Definitely recommend to adults even without kids, me and my partner are mid-20s and both still enjoyed it.
Positive experience: Great place to go on a wet bank holiday. It wasn't as busy as expected but plenty of bodies to negotiate. Enjoyed looking at all the different species but would have liked to have spent more time watching. Unfortunately my granddaughter dictated the speed and if she couldn't get in front of people to see properly she moved on to the next tank. Definitely worth another visit.
Positive experience: Was good but extremely small. I thought for what it was it was a lot of money to pay. The kids enjoyed it but we're a bit disappointed on the size... I wouldn't rush back.
Fantastic experience: The place is absolutely gorgeous, there are many things to see and designated places for pictures. The staff was super friendly and we tried the VR and I recommend it 100% it is a wonderful experience
Positive experience: A minor flaw is the standard "exit through the gift shop" which becomes yet another lesson I don't want in how to manage pester power from my kids... Great exhibits although lighting a bit dark in a few areas makes reading a bit tricky for my middle-age eyes. Nice contrast between spaces, and absolutely brilliant staff who are knowledgeable, friendly and approachable.
Fantastic experience: Went with my 2 year old and her nanna and pops. We all loved it! My 2 year old sepnt ages watching the big fish and the turtles. Definitely recommend
Positive experience: Great aquarium for kids. Was lovely to go on an inset day as it was quieter. Easy to find and suitable for walking with buggies. It is brilliant you could reuse your tickets again and go in a second or third time
Fantastic experience: Such a brilliant place to take kids; after school - on the weekend - during public holiday - anytime! Everything is well looked after, beautiful plants, huge range of fish and sea creatures to see. Absolutely amazing experience! Reasonably priced too.
Fantastic experience: Always a good way to spend a few hours wondering around with toddlers. Usually quite quiet during the week and not being rushed through so others can see the exhibits etc. Enough to see to spend around 2 hours there plus time in the cafe. Could spend longer if you take in the various talks and feeds spread across the day. Pricing is OK considering the London Aquarium, while obviously much bigger, is £30pp with horrendous queues daily. Cafe is perhaps a little overpriced on some things so we take food for the kids but buy a sandwich there for ourselves.
Positive experience: The kids really enjoyed it, and there were plenty of different fish to see. I feel the price of admission is too dear for whatās in there. Wasnāt expecting to see a dinosaur part so that was a nice surprise.
Fantastic experience: Had one of the best days in the aquarium. I enjoyed a lot. Because I love seeing fish very much. I spent 3-4 hours. Nice scenary to recharge your soul, mind .
Positive experience: It was somewhere I have wanted to go for a while. I think it's a bit over priced but I guess it cost a lot to maintain. We got around it in just over an hour and that was reading all the info and spotting all the sea creatures. It is very educational and fab for kids. It was like being able to snorkel without breathing equipment.
Fantastic experience: A good day out and stay as long as you like. I thought it was a little pricey at first, but they do have a lot of sea life and they are well looked after. The staff were very welcoming and happy to chat about the animals.
Fantastic experience: I have always loved going to this aquarium ever since i was young, and I'm glad its still amazing and not just the nostalgia talking! The tanks were all well looked after, and the sheer number of different species and types of animals was very interesting to see! was slightly sad at the lack of jellyfish, but when we asked we were told that they would have moon jellyfish and sea nettles in the coming weeks. The talks were interesting and it was very clear that they take good care of their animals, with supplements like calcium powder for their reptiles. the gift shop was mostly a good price in my opinion, the plushies were quite expensive but where are they not? the food was slightly overpriced, at around 8 pounds for a toastie, but the wedges were good for only around 3! overall id definitely be going again!
Fantastic experience: Who'd have thought there was somewhere so beautiful in Bristol . Whan an amazing place. Defo recommend.
Fantastic experience: First time here. Really enjoyed it. Not cheap but worth the money. Lots of varieties of fish to see. Tickets lasts you all day if you leave an come back. Tea cake in the cafe was nice. Helpful staff.
Positive experience: Bristol Aquarium is really nice to walk around with the semi-outdoor areas and some good displays. The animals seem well cared for. However the place is quite expensive for what you get, it doesnāt take much more than an hour or two to go around.
Negative experience: I very rarely leave a negative/neutral review but we were left disappointed following a recent visit. Given the cost of entry I was expecting far more. Two adults and two children (14 years old) cost over Ā£80! We were hoping to spend a couple of hours at the aquarium but itās a struggle to spend more than an hour there. I appreciate you can go back around but once youāve seen it once I donāt see much point. On a positive note I will say that what is there is good and everything was well maintained and all the fish look healthy. If the cost of admission was half of what we paid then maybe my rating would better reflect my experience but left feeling like I had been ripped off which is disappointing!
Positive experience: Very small, can go round in 20 mins, but you get access to the centre all day It's very expensive for what's there. It's worth getting an annual pass as within 3 visits it's paid off. Would be good to have some more interactive things, like a supervised touch pool, more activities to do as you go around. It would also be good if 'we the curious' and the aquarium did a joint pass, so you could visit both centres with one ticket. We have an annual pass, so we don't have to queue.
Positive experience: Perfectly passable if a bit disappointing. I recognize that I'm a bit spoiled for aquarium visits but the Bristol Aquarium feels more like a small private collection and herbarium. There are 7 themed "zones" which cover different biomes and have related fish to each zone. It's nice to see labelled plants and relevant signage, but the fish experience is somewhat lacking. There's about 3 large tanks which are viewable from different angles depending which room you're in, but they are somewhat sparsely populated. The smaller tanks are also limited on population. They do have wonderful staff giving insightful and detailed talks about the fish. These talks happen all over the space throughout the day. It's good for families with small children but is lacking in substance for a £24 experience. My highlight was the huge fish (pictured) in the final tank. More of that please!
Fantastic experience: Had a fab day at the aquarium, the only downside for us having to go through the shop to get to the toilets, as my son has a neurological condition he found it too overwhelming each time going through the shop to get to the toilets. But the aquarium as a whole was fab.
Fantastic experience: Amazing. The best part was the man with the long blonde hair doing the talk about the fish. Very engaging! Inspirational and educational talk. He really cares about the fish and their wellbeing and also the customers.
Fantastic experience: Visited this delightful little Aquarium over the February Half Term. We pre-booked tickets using our Days Out + membership to take advantage of the kids go free offer they were running. We paid £43.50 for 2 adults and 2 children. We didn't have to book a time slot, we were just able to turn up when we wanted. As it was Half Term we were expecting it to be busy (especially as it was a Monday and many of the attractions in Bristol seem to be closed on a Monday!), but there was only a small queue to get in and the staff were dealing with it efficiently. Tickets were a QR code on my phone, which was scanned, and then we were given info about talks that were on throughout the day. We were also informed that your ticket allows you to come and go from the Aquarium as many times as you'd like for the whole day, this was a really great touch as it meant we didn't have to hang around for talks,we could leave and pop back later for them. So the Aquarium is small. Even with it being fairly busy we got round everything in about 90 minutes. The exhibits were all very clean and well maintained, and there was a good selection of fish and sea life to see. My youngest child is fish mad so he absolutely loved sitting watching the fish, and taking photos and videos. The talks we saw were informative and the staff were very friendly when answering questions. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit, and would definitely recommend it, especially if you have little ones (or even slightly bigger ones) who love fish! My son has already requested a return visit!
Fantastic experience: Great day out for all ages my suggestion is get there early and then you can see more
Fantastic experience: had the best Valentines night out at the Bristol Aquarium!! there are such diverse creatures and so so much to learn, the staff did an excellent job making it super enjoyable for adults too and all the animals were well kept and stunningly healthy
Positive experience: Overpriced for such a small aquarium that attracts alot of visitors , some interesting fish but expected a lot more , its pretty much the same two tanks just from different angles, with smaller tanks dotted about. The themes was good and it is enjoyable , I would recommend. However , absoloutley breaks me when places offer student discount but not military.... Nice one. Also crap gift shop.
Fantastic experience: Support events at iconic buildings! This has a huge cinema screen with great atmosphere and sound, which is used to host films, events and festivals. Part of keeping it going means cutting back on decisions such as the thermostat settings, so wear an extra layer.
Positive experience: Obviously the place to go if you like all things aquatic. Expensive for the amount of time we spent there but a good visit anyway.
Positive experience: Not a bad little visit about an hour and a half to see everything. Bit of a strange Jurassic theme mid way through but some great scenes and some funky fish to view. Was hoping to see a shark or something like that but there was a chonker right at the end which was nice. £22 for a visit that's not a bad price
Fantastic experience: A brilliant day out. There was a really informative, funny member of staff called Aaron who gave a fantastic talk on coral seas in the morning. We learned so many interesting facts and the crowd seemed to love the talk too. We will definitely visit again.
Positive experience: Getting a ticket on the front desk was nice and quick, and daughter enjoyed the aquarium. However I would highly recommend avoiding the cafe. It was freezing cold, and despite being very quiet, service was painfully slow.
Negative experience: Did I miss something? Went back through it twice and honestly don't know what I paid for. Unsure whether the reviews on here are legit... Massively overpriced for what it is. Takes 20 minutes slow walking to get around. From the outside and in, all of it feels so tired and outdated, especially as it's surrounded by places like We The Curious. I kept on expecting something more but there wasn't anything. This place is only kept afloat (ha) it seems by parents of babies with annual memberships, which is better value for money, but I've no idea why you would go a second time, even with a child. There are much better places - free - in Bristol to go to. Don't waste your money. In urgent need of modernisation, a bigger space, more variety of fish and sharks, and most importantly a new, creative vision for it - it felt as depressing as the fish looked.
Fantastic experience: What a surprise, I really didn't expect to have fun when my daughter booked the tickets, how wrong I was, it's a must visit, you'll have a great time.
Positive experience: A good way to spend a couple of hours. Very accessible, but not as much variety as I was expecting. It was still enjoyable, though, and I liked that there were sections dedicated to rivers and jungle environments, rather than just the oceans.
Fantastic experience: Bristol Aquarium Here, you can find a wide variety of marine life, including sharks, clownfish, pufferfish, and many more. The interior is beautifully decorated, making you feel like you're diving into the ocean itself. The highlight here is the All-Day Ticket. This means you can enter and exit the aquarium as many times as you like within the same day. This is very convenient for families with children, as children may want to revisit certain areas multiple times. #TravellingAsACouple
Positive experience: Great little aquarium, only took 25 minutes to walk around with an eager little one, but you can re-enter throughout the day so we walked around twice, lots of sharks on website however we only saw one! But nice little day out for kiddos who don't have a full day outs worth of energy!
Positive experience: Nice small aquarium. We came in time for the octopus feeding and talk and really enjoyed it - the guide was very knowledgeable. However, I do feel it is a bit overpriced.
Fantastic experience: Bristol Aquarium is a charming little spot thatās well-decorated and offers a diverse range of aquatic animals to see. One standout feature is Maggie the octopus, an entertaining and fascinating creature that adds a unique touch to the experience. While the aquarium might not be the largest, its cozy appeal and engaging exhibits make it a great choice, especially for families with small children. The admission price is a bit on the higher side, but itās still a fun and worthwhile outing if youāre looking for something to do on a quiet day. Maggie alone might just make it worth the visit!
Fantastic experience: This was such a lovely day out with my family, I have a little one who is 16 months and she loved it here. There are some great displays and you can make this as long or as short as you'd like, we spent around 2 hours there, we did get to see a talk/feeding at the stingray enclosure which was informative and fun. I would suggest maybe looking at what time the talks are on (if it's possible, to time your trip there) Staff are helpful and really friendly, I love the fact that once a ticket is bought you can leave and come back as many times as you want on the day.
Positive experience: Lots of fish! I'm aware that is probably to be expected. The staff do regular talks and are very friendly. The tanks are all large and full of interesting creatures and for the relatively small size of the building there's a lot to see. Gift shop is a little bit naff if you're over the age of 10, but I was mostly there to see the fish Overall I would definitely visit again.
Fantastic experience: Bristol Aquarium was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The entire space is immaculately maintained, and the cleanliness of the tanks stood out immediately. Each exhibit was sparkling, allowing us to fully enjoy the vibrant colours of the marine life. Itās clear that the staff take pride in caring for these beautiful creatures and their habitats. The aquarium itself is bright and welcoming, with excellent lighting that really brings the exhibits to life. Every tank is thoughtfully designed to showcase each species' natural beauty, and the whole experience is very interactive, making it especially engaging for kids and adults alike. Iād highly recommend Bristol Aquarium to families, couples, and anyone with a curiosity about the ocean. Itās truly a place that appeals to all ages and makes for a memorable day out!
Fantastic experience: Great place to visit, lot to do and see. Slightly expensive but when all said and done well with the price!!!! Best to plan in advance we didnāt buy tickets but can absolutely see why youād want to
Positive experience: The kids really enjoyed it as they'd not been to an aquarium in such a long time, overall the experience was OK. Gift shop wasn't too overpriced, we came away with a few bits. It was busy but didn't feel crowded at any time. My son was mostly interested in the dinosaur features and the turtles, my daughters favourite was the "unicorn fish". As we went around Halloween, the addition of the carved pumpkins was also very good.
Fantastic experience: Lovely time with the family and friends, plenty to see . If you've around then give it a go you won't regret expecially kids will definitely enjoy! I would say this one it's far nicer than the Plymouth one. Happy days!
Fantastic experience: Surprisingly excellent aquarium. The displays are focused on sustainability and there are lots of rescue fish. Great plant displays and the plants coexist with the fish in ways I don't often see in, say, the Sealife centre. Expensive admission, but not more than expected given Sealife centre admission. Cafe and shop a bit bare - could be improved if you want people to stick around afterwards.
Fantastic experience: Very nice place in the centre of Bristol. Perfect for littles and not only. My son loves sea animals, so he really enjoy it. It is quite small area (max. 1hr), but enough for children. The beautiful garden with interesting flora is really nice. Price tickets are quite expensive for this size of attraction, but it was nice experience.
Fantastic experience: A great visit and thoroughly enjoyable. You can get round the place in about an hour (without kids) so itās good the ticket can be used throughout the day. So you can go back in and listen to talks and watch the fish being fed. The talks by the staff were informative and fun and the feeding was great too. Who knew you could train a stingray??!! A great place to go on your own, as a couple or with family and children. The place was Well maintained and clean. Just a shame it isnāt bigger but I think thatās something out of their control. We enjoyed it so much we just wanted more.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place to visit. Small but you can see everything and experience all under one roof.
Fantastic experience: Lovely place - we went round twice and it was only at the second circuit that I realised it is not that big! It was really worth a visit though - enjoyed by all visitors of all ages.
Fantastic experience: Cute aquarium that is well kept and wasn't too crazy busy on the Saturday morning. A ticket buys you full access for the day, which is nice if you want to make sure you see everything.
Fantastic experience: brilliant considering its age. feels more designed for children than adults, but that doesn't make it any less fun for all ages! the tickets felt fairly expensive, but it's worth knowing that is for all day access, so absolutely take all the time you want staring at every last tank. photos are almost a waste of time, take short videos instead. i left with an amazing album and great memories. if you are lucky enough for a staff member to be nearby, absolutely ask them politely if they have time for a question. you can expect a delighted and enthusiastic response.
Fantastic experience: I enjoyed the visit to the aquarium. It was nicely set out and housed quite a few species of fish. You had a nice view of the large tank, too.
Fantastic experience: Terrific day out! The turtles, rays, and poison dart frogs an absolute hit. Make sure to get there for the 1:30 feeding session, if you like rays! Staff are all lovely, across the aquarium, cafe, & gift shop. Very nice that your ticket covers you all day, so you can return/break and come back.
Fantastic experience: We had an absolutely fantastic time at Bristol Aquarium! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff. They were eager to answer any questions and made the experience even more enjoyable with their enthusiasm and expertise about the marine life. The variety of fish and other sea creatures on display is simply breathtaking. From colorful tropical fish to mesmerizing jellyfish, every tank is full of life and beautifully maintained. The highlight of our visit was definitely the huge tank that gives you the feeling of being submerged underwater. Walking through the tunnel with sharks, rays, and schools of fish swimming overhead was truly magicalālike stepping into another world! We were also incredibly lucky to catch a glimpse of the aquarium's newest additionāa baby octopus! It was amazing to see such a rare and fascinating creature up close. The staff were excited to share stories about the baby octopus and its behaviors, making the experience even more special. The aquarium is well laid out, with informative displays that cater to both children and adults. Each exhibit is thoughtfully designed to not only showcase the incredible diversity of marine life but also educate visitors on conservation and the importance of protecting our oceans. After exploring the exhibits, we were delighted to find a neat and well-stocked gift shop. It had a great selection of souvenirs, from educational toys and books to unique gifts that will remind you of your visit. We picked up a couple of items, and the prices were quite reasonable. Overall, Bristol Aquarium offers a perfect blend of education and entertainment. Whether you're a family with young kids, a couple looking for a unique date spot, or just a solo traveller wanting to learn more about marine life, this place is a must-visit. Seeing the baby octopus was just the cherry on top of an already wonderful day. We will definitely be back for another underwater adventure!
Fantastic experience: Lovely aquarium! With lots to see. Took the whole family- ages 8- 67 and we all had a great time!
Fantastic experience: Really enjoyed our visit here. The ticket allows you to visit as many times as you would like throughout the day. There are plenty of fish, turtles, lobsters and sharks to see. There is somewhere to buy food and drinks but you can also bring your own food and eat in designated areas. The whole place is easily accessible with no need for steps and everything at a good height for all to see.
Fantastic experience: Great experience and very educational, the kids loved it. Informative display from a member of staff feeding the rays etc full of interesting facts. I've always had my doubts about zoos and aquariums and these aren't entirely assuaged, but I truly believe that every reasonable effort has been made for the welfare and comfort of the sea creatures.
Fantastic experience: An exquisite range of marine life. It was definitely worth the visit! It was not that busy, so we could take our time watching and enjoying the aquatic beauty.
Fantastic experience: Worth visiting if you're around the area. Variety of fish. Both children and adults would enjoy. Parking near the site is Millennium car park. Bristol cathedral is near to it. You can also visit science museum but need to pay for it separately.
Positive experience: Great day out and experience for little ones. Great for accessibility wheelchair whise. No steps that I noticed for the areas that you would go to at the aquarium. Most of the fish are kids eye level which is good too if you struggle to pick kids up or have smaller kids. There are talks throughout the day for the different areas and the different fish. Just wish it could be a bit bigger.
Fantastic experience: Itās a fun aquarium with some amazing specimens of fish, shark, ray, turtle, eel, seahorse and jellyfish, along with the occasional frog, octopus and dinosaur! There are 7 different areas to explore and the ticket allows you to come back as many times in the day as you want. The tanks are well lit, and some of them are walk-through, giving you some amazing views of the animals inside. Itās usually Ā£21.25 at the door, and Ā£2 cheaper if youāre a student or over 65. Itās definitely worth a visit if youāre in Bristol for an hour or 2.
Fantastic experience: Quite nice aquarium! You can use the ticket to visit it more than one time during the day. Staff are very kind and helpful. Good selection of fish and other sea creatures. Ideal for kids!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic aquarium, all the sea life always looks well looked after and in good condition. We took our SEN children, and they had a wonderful time.
Positive experience: Short but sweet aquarium trip, well kept and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. We'd hoped to see an octopus but either we missed it or it's no longer there
Fantastic experience: The receptionist was extremely helpful even when we had bags that were very heavy and we didn't want to carry them around the Aquarium, they offered to store them safe for us until our visit ended. The exhibits were incredible, and the new exhibits included, the different fish and the rain forest exhibit and dinosaur area was refreshing and it was nice to see a mix max of that along side fish. The information all around was helpful and quite interesting, and fact full . Very well decorated, and presented, beautiful flowers, the site shop and cafe were great. Highly recommended, great value for money
Positive experience: Very cool aquarium! Some fishes are funny! Ā£20 is a bit expensive tho as I think its missing some fishes and we often turn 3 times around the same tank from different angles (compared to other aquarium I already visited) But it is a nice place to spend some time with friends or kids! (As long as they donāt scream super loud for 10 min in this closed spaces)
Positive experience: This was a real treat. I forgot how calming and peaceful it is to watch fish do their thing. Nature is so incredible. The colours and patterns on some of these creatures is awe inspiring.
Fantastic experience: Good size Aquarium for younger families, great that you can go around as many times as you like with the ticket valid all day, it took us just over an hour to go round which I felt made the aquarium good value when compared to others we have been to. Great exhibitions and lots to see, and lots for the little ones to do Parking nearby and easy walk from the millennium square
