Fantastic experience: My favorite place to shop for fishes, staff is so professional and friendly!

Negative experience: I was warned to not order from this store. Fish showed up yesterday dead, sick, and damaged. When we tried to get our money back the email suddenly didn't exist. Don't waste your money.

Fantastic experience: This is the place to go for all of your aquarium needs, whether it be freshwater or salt water. The staff here is very knowledgeable, caring and passionate about what they do. There's a wide variety of fishes, plants, substrate, coral, rocks, filters, pumps, fish food, and lots more. The store is very organized and all of the tanks are kept clean and well maintained. Their prices are competitive and they sometimes have a 20% off sale. I highly recommend coming here instead of one of the pet chain stores for all of your aquarium needs. Also, if they don't have a particular item in stock, they will give you options and suggestions, so they're not trying to ambush you into only buying from them, they really do care about the fishes and their habitats.

Fantastic experience: I stopped by this store after eyeing it for some weeks. I had gotten 23 neon tetras from a couple other stores and over 2 weeks all but 3 had unexplainably passed overnight or developed acute swim bladder issues before passing shortly after. My water tested fine and everything else in the tank was thriving. I was wanting to get some more neons at least to complete the school so the ones I still had could have a happy and full life. After seeing that all of their tanks and fish were healthy/thriving, and finding out the neons they had were there for a month with 0 mortalities, I picked up 7 of them and day 1 these guys have already been looking and acting healthier than the others I had added from chain stores. Will definitely be going back for other additions in the future, 100% worth the hour drive

Fantastic experience: I was on the journey of washing my laundry when I smelt the comforting scent of laundry detergent coming from this establishment. I looked up and saw the words ‘SomethingFISHY’. I thought to myself, “Nothing smells fishy here…”, yet I, nonetheless, made my way into this store. Instead of being greeted by loud machines and dirty clothes, I was instead met with the beautiful sight of water plants and fish. Long story short, instead of washing my clothes, I bought myself some plants for my aquarium.

Fantastic experience: The staff is very nice and patient! They helped me with any questions or concerns I had regarding aqua plants. They have a wonderful variety of fish and aqua plant as well. Would recommend!

Negative experience: Last weeked I purchased 5 neon tetras. One died while still in the bag. Ok, sometimes that happens. I removed the dead fish and continued to acclimate the other 4. I thought all was well, but over the past few days, the other 4 died. I'm pretty positive the fish were sick, as all of the other fish in my tank, including my three original tetras, are just fine. Guess I'll stick to driving out to the Daytona aquarium ships in the future.

Fantastic experience: This is the best fish store in 50 miles iv been to. Steven and Brittney are the coolest people and super knowledgeable about the hobby. Iv started 2 tanks now and they have flourished. I could talk to them for hours and they are super nice. Fish and plants are always healthy and have had no issues. Recommend this place to anyone starting a new tank because they care about water parameters and making sure the tank is healthy and ready before selling you fish or shrimp or whatever you are looking for.

Fantastic experience: This fish store is hands down the best in the area and surrounding areas. I drive 40 minutes just to go to this fish store and it is worth it. They have a wide variety of freshwater and salt water fish. Their decor and other merchandise is fairly priced for being a local owned store front. They run great promotions as well. I was purchasing fish at my local pet store and they just kept dying. The fish I have gotten from here are well taken care of and they have thrived since adding them to my tank. I think it’s awesome they also will not sell fish out of a tank if the tank is stressed. Ensuring you are getting happy fish from the start. I had a little scare today with water levels and didn’t want to drive 40 minutes just for some quick questions so I called the store and the gentlemen who works the store kindly offered me advice saving me a 40 minute drive. Support your local fish store - the quality and customer service is unmatched!

Fantastic experience: Great experience here! Steve/Steven was very helpful and very knowledgeable about everything we had questions about. We are beginning our fish journey, so we had lots of questions. We will only be going here for our aquarium needs! Definitely check out both the saltwater and freshwater selection they have! Fish we got came home happy, stress free, and roaming around the tank quickly! Can't wait to go back and get more!

Fantastic experience: My friend and I had walked in to just look around and we were really pleased with this store. The man at the counter was friendly, the displays were great, and you could tell the fish were well taken care of. There’s a coral grow out/ healing area, there’s fish just for display, and there was a lot of variety. I believe the prices are similar to others in the area. Nothing fishy going on here. The employees are extremely educated and very helpful. The entire store is neat and cleaned and all the fish tanks were beautiful! The fish themselves are healthy and thriving! It’s rare you walk into a fish store that does not have dead fish but this one did not have a single dead fish, and that says a lot! They have a wide variety of salt and fresh water fish and tons of thriving plants as well! If you’re in the area looking for a creditable fish store to shop, this one is it!

For aquascaping, they also have an extremely nice selection of freshwater aquarium plants that you just can't get at the corporate pet stores, and always healthier. Can highly recommend.

They aren't just trying to sell you fish. They want to make sure the fish go to a good home and make sure people aren't putting incompatible fish together. They let every new shipment of fish acclimate before selling and treat for ick so it doesn't spread to your tank at home. Everyone here is friendly and helpful. Fantastic experience: It was great to finally get out to visit this store from Saint Cloud. The store is clean and their livestock are well kept! The workers were friendly and very helpful. We just purchased some freshwater babies for our UNS AIO 16 gallon planted tank and can’t wait to get them home and acclimated!

Fantastic experience: 100% my go-to fish store. When I first started my rapidly growing fish hobby I stopped in here, since it was the closest one to my house. I came in here mostly to pick their brain and learn more one on one from people who know best, but not only was I greeted with great knowledge I was also greeted with great hospitality and excitement about the hobby. I started only going here for fish, not just because of the people that work there, but also because of their quality of fish. Everything is so healthy, and even if there is a single fish in their tank that is sick they take care of it right away. I highly recommend coming here, seriously. Stephen, one of the employees, is one of the coolest guys I’ve ever met and he is an all around great dude. If you are looking for fish or even interested in just taking a look at fish…come here, no exaggeration. 10/10

Fantastic experience: First visit and it was absolutely amazing. The guy working there (I forgot his name!) was so knowledgeable and pleasant. The fish are clearly cared for and healthy, and well worth the price compared to sickly $1.50 goldfish you’ll get at a chain pet store. I got my baby Oranda there and she’s the love of my life!!!! Can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic experience: Family owned "somethingFISHY" is sooooooo much better quality fish and plants compared to any of the chain pet stores. We were able to get some established filter media (the ceramic rocks) which are gonna have a lot of already established bacteria that will help us speed up our cycling process.

Fantastic experience: Loved the store! The owner was very knowledgeable and helpful about the freshwater fish, snails, and plant we were buying, and even answered a couple of questions we had about how to maintain a saltwater tank. Will definitely come back next time.

Fantastic experience: Nice fish! Very clean and well maintained tanks. Love the guppies and rainbow fish I purchased as well! Also, I’d like to mention the young lady helping me on Saturday Nov 18. I mentioned a struggle I had with my goldfish and after a lengthy conversation, I took her advice bought some items and upgraded to higher filtration. Magic! Within a couple of days I had zero issues with my water! It’s nice to find someone who takes the time to listen and help correct tank issues! Thank you.

Fantastic experience: I love this place. The staff is always down to talk tanks, fish, and plants and they have a great selection, especially of fish and plants. If you’re looking for gear or hardscape, this isn’t the right place. But if you want a crazy selection of fish and plants, definitely checkout Something Fishy. I focus on planted tanks and they have a huge selection. They even have some local varieties sometimes. If I wasn’t banned from buying more plants by my partner, I would be there right now. Hell, I might go anyway…

Negative experience: I had a similar experience to Antonio. I walked in and the employee was helping the customer. That’s fine, but we were not greeted or asked if we need help in the 10 mins we were there, so we left. I understand making your sale is important but it would also be helpful to learn how to multitask. Also one of the tanks had a huge dead fish floating at the top. Nasty

Fantastic experience: They are super friendly and helpful! We live 30 minutes away but regularly come because for the quality of fish and all of the cool fish they have! They offer great deals and care for their fish really well! 5/5 any day of the week.

Negative experience: Haven’t been to this location for a few months until today. Went in for a very simple purchase of more seachem Prime and frozen foods but when I entered the only employee was busy helping a customer. Totally fine and I kept myself busy looking at the various displays before standing by the counter. I was not spoken to once or told that I would be helped shortly. The employee continued talking to the customer for OVER 15 minutes, showing photos from their phone etc. while I stood by the front. The employee looked at me standing by the front multiple times without acknowledging me. Another employee who was sweeping saw me on more than one occasion standing by the front desk and also did nothing. After waiting over 20 minutes for a very simple purchase I decided to leave. Disappointing to see such poor service at an otherwise awesome and friendly location.

Fantastic experience: One of the best fish stores in the Orlando area (if not the best). Just a few things that caught my attention, first of all, their fishes are very healthy and you can tell that their tanks are in great condition. On the same day I went to their store, I also bought fish from two other stores, during quarantine time none of their fish died, while I had a few losses from the fish from the other stores. A huge factor in this is that when Steve was picking up the fish, not only was he very careful and patient (which is already great not to hurt the fish), but also he was selecting the best-looking and healthiest fish. I saw when he caught one that was not the best option, he released it and went for a better one. I'm definitely going back.

Fantastic experience: Had the very best experience meeting with Leigh to talk about care for our aquatic turtle. He listened to our concerns, asked questions about what we have been doing and what we didn’t like about the process and then made recommendations for how we could do things better and with much less hassle. He also didn’t try to oversell on things that wouldn’t help our situation. We left with a new filtration system that cost far less than we expected. We will absolutely be back should we need anything further.

Positive experience: Selection is one of the better in town. The prices are higher than most. Some staff is great and some staff is average. We have spend good money there on multiple occasions and only the 4th trip did they ask to add us to their rewards program.

Fantastic experience: So far this is one of my favorite aquarium shops in all of Central Florida. The shop is gorgeous and I would say they probably have the biggest selection of freshwater fish around. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They are also extremely honest, which I appreciate. I was going to buy a batch of one species and the guy said that batch wasn't doing well and wouldn't sell it to me. I wound up still getting the same amount of fish just different species. I am new to the hobby and I have been visiting a lot of aquarium shops. I have one other favorite but they are more for supplies than fish. These guys have tons of fish to choose from.

Fantastic experience: I got some plants from Etsy and got a horrible snail infestation because there wasn’t a warning. So I was super bummed and searching for a way to find healthy plants for my tank locally. A friend recommended this place and the girl who helped me was awesome! Even had a little reptile hanging out with her. Love all the wonderful plants and they’re flourishing with no pests in all my tanks. I’ll definitely be back.

Negative experience: I love this shop so I’m at a loss to write this. But I picked up 7 cherry barbs from them today, got them home and floated them, and ich on all the fish. What’s the deal with that? I’ve already treated the fish after releasing them into my tank without checking properly to see. Oh well, teaches me to double check my fish even from a shop I have enjoyed for quite some time. Rough.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for about a month now and honestly the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate honesty with a business, and that is what is practiced here. I came for guppies one day, and was told to wait till next week as the ones they had in stock weren’t doing too hot and they didn’t want to sell me fish that would die once they got home. Fantastic experience: Love this place!!! An amazing selection of fish and now branching out into reptiles!!! Very friendly staff that’s willing to help new comers to the fish community, and great at explaining different aspects of the fish world!!!

Negative experience: The name says it all…Something fishy. Care for animals, fishy. Costumer service policies and attitude, fishy. Animal/plant selection, fishy. Overall consensus, something smells fishy here, and it’s not the animals. If you’re looking for plants that will need to be quarantined because they have snails, then this is your place. They do have plant options, but they all come with snails (even if they claim otherwise). Other local fish stores have the same options if not better when it comes to plants. When it comes to their animals..BIG WARNING. They don’t keep them in good conditions - just walk through and you’ll see for yourself. They also claim to be willing to provide credit if the fish don’t survive the night/day, that’s just not true either. All of that being said, their selection is weak. Other local shops with less square footage have more options and in better condition. There are some great local fish stores in the Orlando area, please give your business to one of those shops. Sadly this store has shady conditions for their animals, and even shadier costumer service tactics! I wish I could give zero stars. My guess is, it all comes from the top down - manager is rude, and I’ve heard bad things from many people about the owner. Thought I’d give them a chance anyways, but I was burned. Lesson learned for me!

Fantastic experience: My wife and I have a fresh water aquarium and we frequently come to SomethingFISHY for fish plants or advice. We had a Cyanobacteria bloom happening and the owner of something fishy knew exactly what was wrong and how to fix it. Their fish always look happy and healthy and the plants always thrive in our aquarium. Their staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We live in Umatilla but choose to make the drive . Well worth it!

They took my name and info down and two days later I got a call they had gotten a new shipment in. Fantastic experience: Only place I'll be buying fish. Super chill staff, they know their stuff and are good at answering questions. Honestly if I wasn't such a homebody I might just go there to hang out and watch the fish! Haven't had a problem with a fish yet, I feel like the fish are more than just a sale for them, they're always very healthy and lively, seem happy as something that can't make many expressions can be!

Fantastic experience: This place is off the charts, you can tell the employees know their stuff, everything from the tanks to the equipment is displayed clean and elegantly. The fish look very happy and most of them are kept in species only tanks for their well being. Even their aquatic plants (which is what I had originally gone in for) were splendid, well lit in a gorgeous center tank framed beautifully by all the surrounding tanks that flowed effortlessly into one another, truly a beautiful store, will definitely be back again!

Fantastic experience: Clean store that has more recently expanded its footprint to an adjacent tenant that vacated. Sells both freshwater and salt water fish. Wish they had a bit more variety in the smaller freshwater fish, but they do rotate what is in stock to keep it from getting stale. They do a good job at treating fish if they come in rough from the breeders and wholesalers before selling to the public. I’d not recommend buying from a Petco or Petsmart. Support your local fish stores that are doing well and have the knowledge and care in selling fish. I’ve purchased different tetras and guppies in the last couple of years, as well as some snails. Also frozen food and some decor. Pretty excited about the newer plant tank. I have ordered live plants online a lot from other outlets, but they’ve got a good variety of very healthy looking plants. Look forward to adding more plants and fish to my tanks in the near future.

Fantastic experience: My daughter and I went there Saturday. Had another great experience. It’s been a while since I’ve gotten some fish for my community tank. Jacob’s knowledge was incredible and he helped us pick out some fish based on my tank size and wants. I’ve been in The hobby for a long time and he taught me a lot of new stuff. This place is clean, bigger than before, and a great local fish store experience!

Salt water is her jam but she’s well informed on freshwater too. We’re super picky when it comes to which fish we want in our tank & Mia always works hard to select the exact fish we want. We’re usually in the store once a week and there’s always a great selection of not only fish but plants as well!

Fantastic experience: Thank you soo much for saving my fish! My show, 240 gal tank, the sump pump, stopped, and I thought I would loose all of mine 25 fish. After making the pump to finaly work, couldn't get the ammonia under control. Thanks to Lee and the team for helping restoring the water quality! Very knowledgeable and professioanal staff. Couldn't have done it without your help. The fish in the store is beautiful and quite the selection. Will be coming back for more plants and fish.

Fantastic experience: Before somethingFISHY, I had only been to the "chain pet" stores to look at freshwater fish and plants, so I had no idea what a difference there is when you visit a professional, specialized fish store instead. SomethingFISHY is, hands down, amazing...their employees have always been exceptional with their knowledge and answering all of my questions. Being new to aquariums, I feel very fortunate to have found such a great place to get free expert advice. We've purchased quite a few fish from here now, and they have all been incredibly healthy and hearty. We haven't lost any. Same for their plants - healthy and beautiful.

Fantastic experience: Great place for fish and also great selection of plants for freshwater Aquariums. I was amazed with how healthy the fish look here. Been here twice this week and will definitely come back even if I have to drive over 30 mins to get there.

Fantastic experience: I called the other day because 2 of my angels purchased here had died. The owner asked me to come in so we could test the water and found that my nitrates were slightly raised and that angels are more sensitive to that. I understood and picked out 2 big, gorgeous marbled angels hoping they will do better and surprisingly, he told me they were on the house, which I was not expecting. GREAT FISH AND CUSTOMER SERVICE.
