Negative experience: Where do I begin? Firstly, this is my second visit. My first visit was satisfactory, but the service was not impressive. On my second visit, I waited for 1 hour to be served, which is understandable given that only one staff member was working. However, once I was served, the staff member was rushing me to serve other customers. If a customer is rushed and pressured to speed up the process, mistakes can occur. Unfortunately, mistakes did happen. I purchased $180 worth of fish, and by the time I arrived home, six had died. The next day, all the fish died. I contacted the store by phone, and they were reluctant to exchange the fish unless I provided a receipt and a water sample. While I had no issue with providing this information, the staff's attitude over the phone was unprofessional. As a result, I refused to return to the store. I will not shop there again. Buyers should be aware of the store's policies. Other local businesses may have more accommodating return policies without the hassle and attitude. I will not return to this store again.

Negative experience: Do not buy fish from this store. After the owner change the quality has taken a massive dive which is a shame when you want to support local businesses. I watched staff fumble to get a fish into a bag to the point one was hand picked out of the net. I paid for 14 rummynose but there were only 13 in the bag...I should have checked but trusted the staff. One did not look good in the bag, floating to the top on the 5 minute drive home, likely the roughly handled one. While acclimating them to the water temperature I could see 1 fish dead in the bag! After a week 6 more have died. As someone who has cared for fish/aquariums for over 10 years I take great pride in the quality of my tank and have never had an experience like this. I urge you to avoid the store if you're after any fish. I will be sticking to trusted stores like All Fish to You which I've bought fish from with no issues. They know how to handle and care for animals and have even shipped fish to me overnight with no problems, compared to this store where a fish won't even make the 5 minute trip home.

Fantastic experience: This is hands down the best aquarium store around! The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and always willing to share their expertise. I learn something new every time I visit. They have a fantastic variety of fish, as well as a huge selection of accessories to suit all aquarium needs. The atmosphere is friendly, and the people here are genuinely passionate about what they do. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced aquarist, this is the perfect place to shop. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Unfortunately, my experience at this aquarium shop wasn’t great. I was completely ignored by the staff. I waited for around 10 minutes and there was only one staff, and the staff was with other customer. Never bothered to say a hello.

Fantastic experience: We are snake novices and the young lady knew her stuff and was very excited to know my daughter was getting a snake and share her experience. We purchased a great tank for our childrens python and the right accessories to get started. And know what to get as we add lighting and other accessories. We will be back.

Fantastic experience: Alway extremely helpful, I have been going here for years and have always been so happy with the fish, plants and shrimp I have bought. The staff are friendly and are always happy to answer any questions I have.

Negative experience: All there marine tanks are full of killing parasites, they won’t even give you a warning or a heads up!!! Then they tried to rip me off with dirty dry rock in the garden for $30 a kilo.

Fantastic experience: Daniel and Max help me out each week I bounce ideas off them and they always come up with solutions, the whole team there are awesome !! Cold water, tropical or saltwater they have it all, even reptile equipment!

Positive experience: I'm always happy when I am in an aquarium store. The youngsters who run this seem to be pretty switched on with fish. All the tanks are well maintained.

Negative experience: Very disappointed. Was advised that the 5 Pacific Blue Fish we bought could be added to the garden pond and we questioned its a new pond with lotus. We were sold fish food and told just let the fish sit in the plastic bag until the next. There was no advice on water testing. All fish die within 2 days. Total waste of money. Went to the another aquarium and the husband and wife at Long Jetty were so helpful tested the water and advice us to wait and have the water tested again. They cared about their customers not the sale.

Fantastic experience: All i can say is "Fantastic shop". Yesterday for the first time in years I have been in the shop and I realised that a massive change is happening. Customer service was amazing and the range of new corals was brilliant. I can see there is big changes. The boys were hard at it to help the shop and everything was looking much better. The old sumps were cleaned out, the old display tanks were getting replaced with new ones and the vibe in the shop was next level. I will be a happy returning customer.

Fantastic experience: We are very new to fish and aquariums. Dan (Rex), was super patient with us and provided all the information we needed and I will happily return in the future. He was very patient and understanding with my 5 and 7 year old sons firing consistent questions at him as well.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic helpful staff who know their stuff. Would highly recommend for all your aquarium or pond needs.

Negative experience: Arrogant. Driver of the ute thinks he can park wherever he wants with total disregard for anyone and anything. Parked dangerously in a no stopping at Woy Woy in the rain forcing cars into a dangerous position to get around him. Don’t trust the livelihood of your fish and aquatic life with somebody who can’t follow simple road rules. The response says the ute “broke down”. Convenient that it “broke down” opposite a mechanics without any hazard lights or any person within kooee of the vehicle. What an amazing coincidence.

Negative experience: Very overpriced and under stocked. Sold me some fish whom shortly died due to ich, luckily i quarantined. Unfortunately wouldn't give any refund or amount of store credit. Have made multiple orders for particular livestock and never received a return phone call. Shame as the store is conveniently located. Will be sticking to known stockists in Sydney.

Fantastic experience: This weekend I had my washing machine leak all over the floor, followed by my sink, so when my fish tank also decided to leak everywhere I was at my wit's end. I was so relieved to find out Fantasea was still open during lockdown on a Saturday afternoon. When I got there, the man searched high and low for the part I needed to stop my filter leaking. Unfortunately he couldn't find the part. He ended up searching his house for the part when he got home from work and brought it in to the shop on his day off the next day. When I got there they wouldnt accept payment for the part too! After the weekend Ive had coupled with the fact that I have a pregnant wife due to give birth any minute, this really made my day. Thank you guys so much I'll definitely be coming back for all my aquarium needs.

Positive experience: This place is great, I got so much information and help to set my tank up again after 5 years. The guy that helped me answered all my questions and made me confident in getting it up and running. I would definitely recommend this place. They have a good range and very helpful!

Negative experience: Quite expensive place. You will be constantly hounded with upselling, a common tactic here. When you hit the checkout they'll take a few dollars off as if doing you a favour when they just charged you a 200% markup on some rocks and fish. Their knowledge of tropical is very lacking, but they pretend they know everything. This is particularly true with their shrimp. Can't comment on reef although that seems to be their specialty here so it's likely they are better in that area. The bloke with the glasses is pretty much the reason I stopped coming here. He killed a shrimp right in front of me as he was too rough with the net. Avoid if you can. Plenty of better places around that deserve your money.

Fantastic experience: The BEST in the Business. Shane and the team really went above and beyond for our emergency to save our fish from dying, upgrading us to a proper tank, delivering, setting up and filling with salt water the day after purchase. I cant recommend this business enough! Great selection or coral and tanks on display. Always a fresh amount of marine fish for purchase plus a huge variety of fresh water.

Fantastic experience: Beautiful selection of coral, invertebrates, salt and fresh water fish, aswell as accessories and anything else you could need. Staff super knowledgeable, lovely and helpful. Every Time I go in they spend a fair bit of time with me and ease my worries. Tony, Daniel and Hannah are an asset the team. Always leave super happy and with goodies in hand. They must be sick of how much I visit the store now hahah

Negative experience: I was hoping things would of changed with having a new owner but sadly it has not. Way over priced sometimes up to 75% more than other local aquarium stores. And they openly justify this by saying "we specialise in saltwater" well All coast aquariums sells Saltwater products and fish. No idea what their excuse for up pricing freshwater stuff. Customer service isn't great. Staff member repeatedly spoke over top of me, didn't want to listen to what I had to say. Savw yourself the headache and save your money and go elsewhere. Heck even buying online and waiting a couple of days is worth it. I know I'll be from now on

Negative experience: No one approached us or seemed interested in serving us while in store. Parking not great. There was one other customer in the store and staff talking to each other.

Negative experience: These guys take advantage of being the only major saltwater Aquarium dealer on the Central Coast and charge through the roof as a result. Come in here and you'll be paying at least twice the price for stock (fish, plants, rock) and an extra 50% on everything else. Price gouging at its finest! Save yourself a whole lot and just drive 40 minutes down the freeway. It's so worth it

Fantastic experience: Had a great experience today. Really enjoy visiting the friendly team. Today they really went out of their way to look after my friends and us. Sold me some beautiful corals and had a great chat with the knowledgeable team on the corals and some fish we’ve bought prior. Highly recommend. That pink morph is just divine.

Negative experience: My tank had six thriving fish. We purchased one fish from here - it looked like it was in good shape but it was spotty so we couldn’t see the ich on him. A few days after we added the fish from Fantasea our fish were infected with ich and very sick. Then a couple of days later they all died. I’m very upset and will never set foot in this store again.

My family got its first set up today as a birthday present for my daughter and with such an extensive range and sheer amount of stock I didn’t know where to begin! The staff were amazing and friendly, listened to me and addressed all my concerns and made suitable recommendations. Suffice to say we have a happy birthday girl and a stunning set up! Can’t wait to some back on Saturday and choose our new fish family!

Negative experience: I would suggest to anyone thinking of buying fish from fantasea aquarium to have a very very good look at the fish I purchased 1 expensive $75 goldfish on a Saturday & placed an order for 4 more expensive goldfish to arrive the following Thursday I noticed the first had 3 hookworms on him I put it down to bad luck but when the order came in for the other 4 goldfish they were all riddled with hookworm the & 2 of them weren’t even the breed I had ordered I called them immediately only to be stuffed around I had to call back 3 times before anyone took any interest in my complaint & then I was told to bring back the two fish which were not what I had ordered when I arrived the owner argued the fish weren’t sick they were just scratched, well this morning I found one of the remaining 3 dead with a hook worm near his head for the owner of fantasea who should have a trained eye to not know a hookworm when he sees it is ridiculous I’m not going to bother driving a 2 hour roun trip to talk to people that clearly just don’t care . There are plenty’s of aquariums in the central Coast to choose from that are good I recommend go to those instead save yourself the headache

Negative experience: New owners but unfortunately not hitting the mark. We were basically ripped off by a employee who just made up prices on the go. Pity cause the previous owners were all about the fish.....

Fantastic experience: Excellent service, have been servicing my marine tank for multiple years. Helpful staff and the shop looks great. They are happy to go above and beyond, they even gave me a lift home after have my car towed to a mechanic nearby.

One of, if not the nicest range of corals on the coast. I'd highly recommend them, especially if you are after healthy fish (both marine and freshwater) and corals. If you are just looking at setting up your own freshwater or marine aquarium, definitely visit Fantasea. If you don't leave with everything you'll need, you will leave with plenty of knowledge and advice.

Fantastic experience: Has recently had a change of ownership. Store is back to being clean, tanks look healthy and well stocked. I'll be going back in a week or so to pick up some new fish, will be interesting to see if things are still looking as good then. Time to have another visit if you have thought this store was average in the past.
