Fantastic experience: Beautiful selection of fish

Negative experience: Very disappointed in my experience with this shop today, I usually enjoy coming here but I purchased a sunrise dotty today and was told it would be ok with my sixline wrasse, when I got home I put into tank and on inspection of the fish the fins were damaged and also had some skin damage, it definitely was not the one I seen in the tank, silly me should of went with the guy when he bagged it but I trusted them because there was definitely only one i seen so they must had another dotty somewhere else. also my wrasse also went straight after it and attacked it so i had to take it back, I was going to anyway because it was not the one I seen in the tank. My lfs said they should not of sold me the fish when the knew I had a sixline wrasse. The only good thing is that they did let me return the fish and get a refund and when I took it back I noticed the sunrise dotty that I originally seen was still in the same tank. I assume they realised that I didn't follow the guy down and they must of had another dotty somewhere else and gave me that one instead. I will never come back ever again

Negative experience: Disappointing experience recently visited last week as the family was excited to purchase there first aquarium an fish , non existent customer service when asked for assistance given vague answers very rude dismissive.. Iv have edited my review as owner has responded quickly, I will not call to give information I will leave it here two male employees one middle age tall other medium height late 20 s .. obviously there ongoing problems as most reviews are about non existent customer service or rude behaviour, suggest staff retraining .. theres a lot of options we went to another shop just based on the poor attitude of staff when arriving at a new business instantly helped made our purchase with 10 mins also informed with everything need to no ..

Negative experience: I have a few things to share on Majestic Aquariums. The first being their range of fish is great, there’s many different freshwater and marine fish that you can’t easily find elsewhere and they provide a good gateway into the hobby by offering unique species’ and animals. My second one is the staff are rude and sexist. I asked an employee about their openness for casuals as aquarium keeping is my favourite hobby, and i’d love to do some work in the field. I was met with almost immediate denial, being shut down and told (in front of my family) that i’d be better off “just folding jeans at JayJay’s” because I am a woman and therefore i’m not cut out for the manual labour side of aquarium keeping, despite the fact that I have multiple aquariums of my own and I’m very experienced with fish husbandry and keeping. My third and final say on the matter is I bought some unknowingly infected platys from Majestic, and not even two days later they spread a fungal infection through my tank and killed my favourite fish. Overall the quality of fish is usually quite fine despite these things, but the rudeness and sexist comments has caused me to really shop elsewhere, and to advise the people I know to shop elsewhere also.

Negative experience: Put an order in through the website after asking if a price was right and being told they usually are correct on the website. However, once the order was confirmed and paid for I received a follow up notice saying that the price was wrong.

Negative experience: drove over an hour to get a product showing as in stock on their website, but when I arrived it was not in stock even though it was still showing as in stock on their website

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love this place every time I come I learn something new im unsure of his name but the bloke with a lot of tattoos is the best. The quality of the fish is amazing I have had a jack dempsey for 1.5 years and hes been great I also purchased a oscar cichlid and he is doing great. otherall this place is amazing and a number 1 fish store in sydney.

Negative experience: Rudest staff. When I go to a retail establishment I like to be made to feel that your presence is welcomed, but not here, when asked for a quote on a specific shark, they talked down to me as if I knew nothing, they told me they have to come and personally inspect my tank, I live 2 hrs away from the shop and i have no problem having someone come and inspect, i told him ill send a pic to which he replied a picture could be anyone's, i then told him how big my system is and that i currently have 3 other sharks he still preceeded to tell me he has to inspect my filtration to make sure the shark won't die, the manager was trying to one up me and argue with me, I told the manager Cameron i can understand he would get calls everyday from people with a 6x2x2 thinking its big enough for a shark but im not that person, if you intend to advertise the sale of sharks you must be accepting of this happening and treat everybody with respect, I have been keeping sharks for 15yrs with adequate aquarium space and knowledge, i have a complete room dedicated to my 5500l aquarium and filtration set up, they act as if they are the only aquarium in the world that has had sharks, when I was in the shop I'd showed paul the owner my set up which he said thats very impressive and that not many people have something like that, he then asked i send him a video so he can put it on his YouTube channel. After the phone call with the manager I had asked for the owner to call me, the manager called me back and said Paul has no reason to talk to you and we are out of the shark game so we can't help you, with customer service like this its a wonder they had to sell their shark tank to pay bills, would be losing customers everyday, will never recommend anyone to go here. I've since ordered the shark from another aquarium that were a pleasure to deal with, when I'm spending 1.5k I'd like a little customer service. Staff are so rude its embarrassing very disappointed I was never asked to see my tank, the staff just assume your useless

Negative experience: So drove half hr with my 5 kids there was like 3 or more men at the register not 1 not one served me and my family why? Is it because I had hijab on because we Muslim family?They having chat and jokes and still no one served us ? Wow well there are a lot marine stores out there who have a lot more manners then you guys and know what customer service is shame on you guys we are family people with children What wrong did we do ?

Fantastic experience: James, Adrian and Luke are genuine, knowledgeable and extremely friendly guys that made my visit as simple and easy as possible. Would highly recommend Majestic Aquariums for any of your aquarium needs. As a beginner and starting up a new hobby the guys made me feel comfortable to ask questions, I was never made to feel any questions were silly and overall felt the service was above expectations. Thanks for all your help guys. Looking forward to being a repeat customer and seeing you all again soon.

Fantastic experience: The guys at the shop are always helpful and knowledgeable. Paul is very good at managing this wonderful business. Everything from water testing to ordering new parts for a filter, to ordering a new aquarium is possible. Live stock and fresh plants too! I wish prices on everything in the world were cheaper atm and I then would go to the shop weekly.

Fantastic experience: I have two fish tanks and needed to test the water for both. Water tests are $10 which I thought was steep in comparison to petbarn whose is free.. however, their expertise and friendliness made it 100% WORTH the price! They were super friendly, and gave me everything I needed to help my tanks get back into shape. Amazing service. I wish I knew the name of the team member who helped me

Negative experience: Unfortunately I bought contaminated fish from this aquarium. Fish died not long after being introduced into an established aquarium with ideal water parameters and suitable tank mates. There are so many aquariums around with better service. My advice is look elsewhere.

Fantastic experience: I absolutely loved the experience at this place, the fish are so colourful and the tanks are well set up. This place has inspired me to become a fish keeper myself, and I’m sure anyone else will be inspired to. The prices are affordable, however tanks are a bit expensive. The stock of chemicals and filters are good, and you can find pretty much anything there. Customer service could be a little better, however besides from that I absolutely love this place. I would 100% come here if you have the chance, it is truly a wonder.

Negative experience: Three guys at the desk, told me to wait while they had a conversation. Eventually I asked my questions, guy was rude with a ‘yeah whatever’ response to most things, just wanted to make a sale.

Fantastic experience: Amazing (Missed the giant live shark though ) But awesome place !!

Negative experience: Very poor customer service. My partner and I tried to ask some questions on how to use/set up filters I received for Christmas and hopefully buy some fish and additional equipment for maintenance. Immediately met with sarcastic remarks, blunt responses and no helpful tips at all. We asked what was involved in the setup of the filter and he just replied with the name of the filter and said it was self explanatory. We left immediate angry and frustrated. Not the way you help first time fish owners. Save yourself the stress and go to pet warehouse around the corner where they are excited to help you even at the Christmas peak times.

Fantastic experience: Cracking place. Everything you need and things you didn't know you needed for an aquarium. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful.

Positive experience: Good selection on marine fish and corals, pretty low selection with freshwater species and plants. Service could be a little better, like asking customers if they were okay and wanted help with anything they were after. Would be 5 stars if the freshwater fish didnt seem much lethargic and if there was a good selection of freshwater fish species and plants. Nice display tanks with a massive monster saltwater tank too.

Negative experience: The worse customer service ever encountered, rude and ignorant. Staff just wanted to up sale on everything. Staff were inconsistent with information regarding care and did not take responsibility when confronted. Will never be going back and never recommending to friends.

Fantastic experience: A fantastic ‘fish’ shop. They cater to all your aquarium needs. The staff are great, they always go above and beyond of duty. The pricing is highly-competitive too.

Fantastic experience: Go and see Kalan and Luke down at Majestic. They’ve been able to help me with every and any issue I’ve had to tackle with my marine setup. Pre sales service is only 5% of what’s needed in this game and the guys sure have been there to help me along the journey.

Positive experience: Nice big store with a good layout. Stock levels are usually pretty decent. Staff could be a little more attentive when we need something.

Fantastic experience: I haven’t been there yet but I heard on the phone they usually catch big Mantis shrimp instead of the the little ones which is really good because if you catch the small ones they die because how young they are and don’t know how to survive. While catching the big ones they have learnt there ways and the staff usually get the peacock mantis shrimp which many people love and which I love as well! If you don’t know what a Mantis shrimp is I recommend getting one because they are intelligent really easy to keep and are very interactive!

Fantastic experience: Awesome range of saltwater fish and tanks. One of the best when it comes to saltwater in Sydney. If you are after a saltwater setup, I wouldn't go anywhere else. Freshwater range is pretty good as well. Prices are competitive given the high level of service. Staff are friendly and always willing to help. There is also a shark tank display with 4 sharks.

Fantastic experience: Always helpful above and beyond all other stores, knowledgeable in all the problems I have seemed to run into with my reef tank. Been going here for years now and yes I shop around for variety as every store has different corals on different days but no store has the help and support or friendly staff that majestic offers.

Fantastic experience: Came to Majesyic Aquariums today with my sister to get her some fish for her new unit. Neither of us had any idea where to start however with the help of the team we left completely set up and happy. The customer service was excellent and we felt really comfortable with our purchase. They have everything you need here and guide you every step of the way, also completely considerate of the budget we had and worked with us. There were so many fish to choose from but thanks to the professional advice we were able to make a choice that we were really happy with. To add to this they also give you really clear and easy to follow care instructions and encourage you to come back when you are set up to ensure your tank is set-up correctly and your water and fish are healthy. Further to this I had to call with a question when I was setting up the tank and again staff were really attentive and helpful.

Negative experience: I want to like Majestic because I used to go 10+ years ago and always had a great experience and service from Chris. Today however, is a very different story. The customer service is attrocious, the range is usually pretty average and pricey. I went in quite regularly, as they are 5 minutes away, and each visit was more disappointing than the last, so I will be travelling from now on for better customer service elsewhere and I will not visit Majestic again.

Positive experience: Great place for fish and a huge selection - but some of the staff are a bit lacklustre. The kids loved the shark! Edit: Can't figure out how to respond to you but potentially yes - it was a kid that got our fish for us and he barely spoke and didn't make eye contact. A bit disappointing - but the shop itself was amazing.

Negative experience: Bro this place is such a rip off!! Nice shop tho but I have been to places that looks just as good with everything you need but 3× lower in price. I've been keeping fish for about 16 years and this place is the world most expensive aquirum I've ever seen eg. ( Hikari jumbo sticks 500g this place charge $98.24, pet warehouse has the same item sold at $60 including free delivery). Btw the tanks are EXTREMELY!! over priced, what you pay here for a 3ft tank only... you can get a 8ft tank including stands and hood for the same price.

Negative experience: A large range of fish including a shark but disappointed to see the poor condition the Betta fish were being displayed in.

Positive experience: I was recommended by a family member, and warned pricing was a tad high... He was right!!! I spent $400 over the weekend on Salt, chemicals and consumables... The pricing for the same brands as other shops were $20-$30 more expensive, do yourself a favour shop elsewhere. Staff were friendly and attentive as you'd expect... At the of the day it felt like i was paying a whole lot more without benefit.. Not worth it

Negative experience: Ok I don’t usually write reviews good or bad however i feel its time!! This place seriously reminds me of a used car dealership from the 80s arrogant and not willing to accept any responsibility for their mistakes! Prices vary depending on which staff member u speak to which usually means they are undercutting the house , and as for the poor shark?? Sad

Positive experience: Located opposite winning appliances, it is a great marine fish enthusiast shop. Two levels (with fish furniture upstairs) . Staff are super helpful and courteous. A few nice marine set up. I'm a fresh water tropical gal so this shop unfortunately doesnt have much to look at for me. There's a lot of ciclids and marine and goldfish but the range of fresh water tropical was evidently not this shops focus. They definitely specialise and cater for marine. I was also looking for a water pump but didn't see any. Range of fish products isnt as wide ranging as I'd have hoped when i browsed the isles. I would still need to visit to Fish Bowl or Hurstville aquarium to get the stuff I need ( they have more fresh water tropical range)

Positive experience: Retail prices a tad high but advice and range is awesome. Plus the shark tank is amazing In relation to response from Owner: I appreciate that you match prices - that's great to know. However it is hard for a consumer to have to ask for a price match on everything they buy each time they visit a store. Its easier to know that the prices are best effort in the first instance :) All that being said it is my feeling that the prices pretty much match the awesome service.

Negative experience: im looking for a new tank and im honestly astounded at how expensive everything is, like serious $500 for a fish bowl, or how about 450 for a 46litre tank, rip off, and i can already tell by how slow ur website is its not going to be good service

Negative experience: A great place to find your worst nightmare. I blame myself I should have had my glasses on I would have seen the white spot on the fish I bought. I might have even noticed the unwanted snails in the plants. Never again, by far the worst aquarium store I have ever been too. There us a good reason this place is not on the main road and in a back lot. Do yourself a favor and give it a wide berth.

Fantastic experience: Majestic came out and rejuvenated my old pond and gave great advice on maintenance when I couldn't find anyone else. Their youtube videos sre great too and the store has what you need.
