Negative experience: Customer service is much to be desired was walking around looking for a turtle dock/basking dock for 10 minutes before any staff asked if I needed any assistance then I leave with the worst one ever that is flimsily and probably meant for baby turtles after I told him the size of my turtle and showed him a picture what a waste of money it could snap in half easily they are weak pieces of foam shit. Asked for feeder fish 10 for $15 more like 8 lol obviously can’t count yet said there was a couple extra in there for me then paid more attention to the customer getting served next to me then interacting with me and didn’t even ask if I was a member or wanted to become one. Basically scanned everything said the price and goodbye. Then continued his conversation with the customer next to me about the fish she was buying. Must be a regular customer so more important then new customers or people who don’t go in often. Don’t buy the one I did they are crap as is the customer service. So many staff yet such bad customer service. On a positive note they had beautiful tank set up’s with some amazing fish. That’s about it. Didn’t leave feeling like I got what I wanted just felt rushed and not listened to at all and like they didn’t want to engage in a conversation. Did I mention “Don’t” buy the basking turtle dock I got they are crap.

Negative experience: Have had nothing but problems with purchasing fish from this place.. have dealt with ICH, fin rot and now randomly 3 of my goldfish dead. Informed them each time with this problem and they don’t seem to care have even gone back to the store and looked at the tank where I purchased the fish from and the fish are still available to buy instead of treating the tank so the next person doesn’t have the same problem as me.. Have tested my water when having these problems and everything’s been absolutely fine, been dealing with fish for awhile now so I know what I’m doing and what not to do, so why they keep selling fish that are sick is beyond me. Every time I’ve contacted them for help I just to get nothing or just a blunt/short response. Have been a buyer at this place for a little while now but no more would rather drive further to another store. Just make sure when you go to buy a fish inspect the tank and individual fish to make sure there’s nothing wrong with them as it’s extremely disappointing bringing them home just for them to die on you or spending EXTRA money on treating the fish.

Fantastic experience: One of the Biggest ranges of fish in South Australia and its in the actual south. Probably set out better than most aquarium stores. From Hardware, Fish, Corals and accessories this place has it all. Many exotic tropical fish as well as salt water. Always enough staff to help through the busy times. The staff members knowledge is amazing. You can never not find something you want in this shop. Check it out

Negative experience: TERRIBLE customer service and horrible reliability. Took a air pump to get repaired as it had 3 year warranty on it, I’m a member with marine plus as well have been for some time.. until today I went to get my warranty and replacement & they are meant to send emails with receipts so they should have had my receipt there on the system, never had to worry about a physical copy because they email receipts with members. They told me I can’t get a refund or a new one simply because they couldn’t find a receipt because of their own mistakes, Will never be going back as Brian the worker looked like he had no clue what he was doing, waited for 15mins of him playing around with an air pump looking like a lost puppy to turn around and tell me they can’t do a refund or replacement so now I have to go buy a whole new air pump because of a stores own mistakes. And my fish don’t have an air pump for oxygen and I have to run around to get another one. Spoke to Brian and patty, nothing but a waste of time & money

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love this place , the team went above and beyond to help me out after my old fish tank broke , they helped pack up my new tank safely all with a smile .they have the biggest range of products and beautiful fish at a fantastic price the fish are healthy witch is great aswell , I’m going back to get more fish and ornaments for my new tank thanks to all the team I’m happy

Fantastic experience: Marine Plus is the first aquarium shop we visited on an ongoing basis, their helpful and knowledgeable advice about salt water and tropical aquariums is fantastic. I highly recommend them, based in the southern areas, located close to the Southern Expressway and the Lonsdale highway makes them easy to access. You can purchase corals, plants and faux plants, a good selection of rocks and other accessories for your aquarium too. They also have turtles, Siamese Fighting fish, lizards and pond fish too. Stockists of tanks, and can custom build tanks too. Loads on display. It's even a great place to take the kids (under a watchful eye as the floors tend to be slippery) to see the tanks and the colourful fish. And the store is always changing.

Negative experience: Bought a aqua one tank six months ago the power adaptor failed on the light system went in to buy a replacement even though might have been under warranty but was told not available have to buy another light and retro fit piss poor service not carrying spare parts and not really caring attitude I suggested myself that I would try jcar and guess what in an out with the right power supply last time I’ll buy from marine plus sorry

Fantastic experience: A great place to go if you need anything for Tropical or marine aquariums. Staff are very knowledgeable and helpful. They also have a great range of tanks, tank stands/hoods. I set up a 290 lt peacock cichlid tank from scratch, including the fish, tank, light, filter etc without having to leave the shop.

Negative experience: I normally have very positive things to say about marine plus. This time isn't very positive. I brought a expensive angelfish from these guys 1 week ago got him home no issues settled in well but around day 5 to day 6 he stated not eating, swimming slowly and seemed unhappy. Day 7 he could no longer swim he was sinking to the bottom of the tank laying upside. I rang marine plus and was told there is NOTHING THEY WOULD DO. THEY WOULDN'T RE FUND HIM OR EXCHANGE HIM OVER and if he died that's not there fault. I tried to help him but despite my best efforts this morning he had passed. I am VERY disappointed in marine plus I feel I have wasted $65 and these days that isn't money to sneeze at so I'm very disappointed I got pushed away and nothing got done on there behalf.

Fantastic experience: Great shop in Lonsdale, I am not an owner of fish and do not claim to know anything about them or how tanks work but i do take my niece to this store. I find the staff are helpful and friendly and very attentive. The shop itself is tidy and easy to find things, with a big variety of fish, some cute turtles and I did also see lizards They also stock aquariums and cabinetry along with plantlife and from what my niece tells me reasonably priced. The only downfall here is the parking we need a disability park and unfortunately there isn't one available so have to try and pick our times when its not too busy. I am almost at the point that if I keep coming here I just may end up with an aquarium . PS Not my tank my neices purchase today more plants and a few fish (their names escape me

Even with current "mandates" the staff have always been kind - they accept non-mask wearers (we've never worn one in there) and it doesn't change their service delivery. Always polite and helpful. In this current day, this is extremely important to know that this is a SAFE and INCLUSIVE store. Have purchased an array of tropical fish from them from Mothers Day 2021 until now - they are our go to place for all fish related stuff. Live fish have always come healthy and adjusted well into our home tanks. Approx 18 fish of our collection have come from Marine Plus. We have also had 2 lots of babies born recently. Purchased 2x aqua one filter systems, drift wood, gravel/rocks, plastic and fresh plants and an assorted mix of foods both frozen, live and shelf variety. Water treatments, stuff to help keep fish healthy after water changes and new arrivals. Staff knowledge on products and fish are always detailed and accurate. Spoken to all the floor staff at one point or another. In process of arranging collection of our large custom made fish tank (made by marine plus) and all the accessories soon. (Laybuy available at this store as is zip pay etc if needed). Thanks staff :)

Negative experience: HAD been a customer for years, but literally seen this place dissolve over time into mismanagement and poor staff attitude. Just looks like it has become a priority to make money with customer satisfaction coming second. Once upon a time I would drive 40 minutes to get what I need from you, but in recent times; if it should be in stock, you don't have it! Not worth the drive anymore.

Positive experience: Bought 2 Oscars. ($35 each) 1 died within 12hrs of bringing it home the other one layed on the bottom of the tank for a week and somehow come back too life. Water was checked by the shop before we bought them. We rang and told them what happened said they would call back and organise a refund and they never rang back that was 10 months ago. 3 star because I love my surviving Oscar

Spent over 2 hours there and still didn't see everything they have on offer, only downfall would be that they are on the higher end of the average pricing and actually the opposite side of Adelaide to me! Fantastic experience: Olivers sold us fish with Anchor Worms. One passed. Took photos and video of fish number 2 and was introduced to a man who was very professional and said 'lets treat what I can see but your fish is very unwell' which he was. Well. Glad to say we are still treating our tank but the fish has made a remarkable recovery. He is still not out of the woods but defiantly thought one night it was the end to now less red, eating and swimming around again. Thank you so much. See you in a week to see what we are to do next.
