Fantastic experience: Picked up four massive S.A.E’s today which I’m very happy with help from Peter, as usual I will be back soon, if not to buy more fish then to absorb the 10/10 vibes the store and staff always give off

Negative experience: Extremely rude and condescending behaviour by the guys who work at this shop, dealing with the girls is slightly better. Wait times at the shop is horrible, noone comes to help you, you have to go hunting to find someone to come help you. It's like they don't want to do business and they are doing us a favour by shilling the stuff out. If you ask a question they will look at you like you are stupid an don't really care or show any empathy or interest in answering proper questions. My wife felt extremely hesitant to even call or ask them anything. Marine fish I bought died in 2 weeks looked liked they were sick from the start, only reason I go is their prices are somewhat reasonable an they have alot of stock at store but now I'm thinking of paying the higher $$$ for better customer service.

Negative experience: Visited for the first time yesterday, and had mixed feelings about the shop. The display tanks downstairs are beautiful, and there is a great range of freshwater fish and plants that all seem very healthy. However, the reptile section is shameful, half the animals are visibly emaciated, the bearded dragons look half dead, shouldn't be selling animals you don't know how to look after.

Fantastic experience: Great shop well stocked with fish,chemicals,food plants,stones tanks the two guys I’ve spoken with when coming have been great help. Priced better than a lot of shops.

Negative experience: I was served last Friday by who I presume is the owner, and I was incredibly disappointed with the experience. Not only was he patronising and unnecessarily rude, but he also seemed surprisingly misinformed about the very products he was selling. For someone running an aquarium shop, you’d expect a basic level of knowledge and professionalism. Unfortunately I received neither.

Negative experience: Terrible experience – avoid if you care about your fish I spent over $350 at Nature Aquariums on a small tank setup for my son's birthday. Within weeks, the pump they sold me started sucking in his little danio fish—we lost three in a month. When I went back for help, staff alternated between not believing me and insisting this was "normal." No support, no empathy, and definitely not a friendly place when you have a problem. I regret shopping here. Avoid.

Fantastic experience: Found this store two years ago after resume my aquarium hobby. I found this store to be very customer service oriented as staff often come up asking if help is needed. After many visits and I came to know a few staff members and would like to mention that Alan's service is exceptional. He has a vast knowledge not only on the products but experiences to provide the right advices to all my aquarium problems! He is very friendly and helpful and above all, processes an outstanding customer service quality. He is a valuable asset to the store and I love being looked after by him each time coming in.

Fantastic experience: A huge aquarium shop.fantastic service we bought am 1800 salt water tank from these guys ..didn't wait long for delivery either. Really happy with it..also a mystery snail now named fudge and if is doing well..best thing to see was clean tanks and also knowledge from staff!

Fantastic experience: Amazing place to learn about setting up Palladariums. Huge selection of fish and plants. Totally underrated reptiles section at the back. With live animals in good enclosures. Selection of crickets and frogs, dragons etc. love that they check reptile licences for buyers. A little expensive hobby that can be really well established from this place. They have literally everything you need. And good advice to go with it. Some amazing set up tanks for inspiration.

Negative experience: Huge shop with a wide variety of products, fish/aquatic creatures, and beautiful inspirational tanks. Horrible service everytime I go though. Really makes you feel horrible about yourself

Fantastic experience: A well stocked and reasonably priced shop with a range of aquarium supplies. we came into store this weekend, and were served by Raph, who was extremely knowledgeable, informative and helpful. We are somewhat new to fish keeping and he understood what fish I was after and what products I needed to care for them in a pre-established tank, even took the time to explain the chemical levels I needed to keep the fish, and explained what it all meant, which was super helpful as I did not have any previous experience with this stuff. I am very grateful for the customer service demonstrated by Raph, and will definitely be back in the future and hope to be served by him again - an absolute asset to the business.

Negative experience: 1 hour drive for nothing. Understaffed. Under stocked. Website is misleading. I do not recommend for live stock. However they have a great variety of aquarium products.

Negative experience: Good selection, terrible customer service. Got used to Ben, he is rude but whatever, but there seems to be a couple of the weekend workers behaving the same way. Its not great. I think im going to give it a miss from now on, dont want to be treated like trash thanks.

Fantastic experience: I love this store! Even when busy, staff always checking in to see if I need a hand. Prices are reasonable. I heard a young salesman teaching a customer about the nitrogen cycle before selling them a tank and fish in the same day which is signs of a responsible store! Well done!

Negative experience: Seems to be a trend in recent reviews regarding the condescending and rude behaviour of the person who I can only assume is the owner or manager. I had to return mid week as I was sold a product that was missing an important component, and was treated as if I was asking for gold, rather than the complete item I had purchased, not to mention the inconvenience to me having to call to arrange the missing part to be left at service desk, and travel to return to the store. All of the staff I’ve dealt with on weekends are incredibly polite and helpful, but this ‘Senior’ staff member present mid-week couldn’t have been more different. I consequently cancelled my pending order and will driving a little further to other local reptile/aquarium suppliers then this store which is unfortunate, as their products are normally really great.

Fantastic experience: Staff are very friendly and helpful. The store is large and well maintained. Stock is spread out nicely and not cramped. Had a nice variety, quality, and some amazing displays.

Fantastic experience: James is very experienced in salt water corals and fish. Very patient and takes the time to explain and choose corals for me. Many corals to choose from and very reasonable price. Will go back and grab a beautiful clam once I do more research.

Fantastic experience: Excellent Fish Quality I recently bought some cardinal tetras from this aquarium store, and I’m very impressed with the quality of the fish. They are all healthy, strong, and active—none of them have died! The staff were very knowledgeable and helpful, especially a friendly Asian guy who speaks Chinese. He was very enthusiastic and provided great service. I will definitely be coming back for more in the future.

Negative experience: Absolutely abhorrent treatment of their baby turtles!! We just rescued a tiny baby Murray river turtle from people who had bought him from this shop a few weeks prior. The little guy was brought home with an RI infection, which is highly contagious amongst turtles and they were kept 20+ turtles in one small tank. They were upsold on all of the equipment, told they didn’t need to cycle the water before putting in their turtle, and not instructed to buy a UV lamp or the proper chemicals to treat the water. They were recommended large adult pellets by the staff that the little guy could barely even eat. The employee could tell that the couple had money and just tried to sell them their most expensive equipment without actually giving them any proper advice on how to look after a tiny baby turtle. Animal abusers and scum of the earth. Do NOT BUY from here!!

Fantastic experience: An AWESOME shop with so much to see and staff who are clearly very knowledgeable about all things reptile/marine. Special shout-out to Raph who helped me with not only my fish and turtle aquarium but also my snake enclosure. He was friendly and gave me all the information I needed. Whilst I usually feel like I have to be quick because staff at these kinds of shops are usually rushing off to deal with the stampeed of customers, I did not feel like this today. I asked many, MANY questions and had all of them answered thoroughly. Will 100% be coming back. This is the place to go!

Fantastic experience: I always enjoy coming here for aquarium supplies, they have a huge variety of stock (live and scape) and their staff are both knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. I actually had a lovely chat about Walstad tanks today and the fish I was keeping at the moment. I'd highly recommend going here regardless of your experience in aquariums.

Negative experience: Visited Nature Aquarium on the weekend. Have been visiting this shop for years. Was "helped" by staff member Ben. He was rude and seemed annoyed when my partner asked questions. When answering he spoke in a condescending manner, and responded as though our questions were not welcome. Was planning on buying fish, plants and other products, but instead left without purchasing a thing. When speaking to the owner and explaining how I was treated, instead of apologising for his worker's behaviour, he then proceeded to asked "how" exactly I was treated rudely, implying that I was making a issue out of nothing and didn't act surprised in the least about Ben's behaviour. After reading other reviews Ben obviously has form in being rude to customers, and he, nor management have any intentions in changing his behaviour towards customers. Will not be returning and would encourage others not to go there. Many other Aquariums in the area to shop at.

Fantastic experience: Low key this place is a massive vibe got a couple fish/plants from here and they’re doing amazing! And I only started this hobbie like 2 months ago.

Fantastic experience: I have chosen to give 5 stars as I had ordered an aquarium light which is not easily available and they have been fantastic with communication. It was their employee Bailey with their great customer service which prompted me to leave a review as they rectified a delivery issue promptly . A++

Fantastic experience: Update - - after years of visits, I've witnessed the growth and expansion of the place after the relocation. A much bigger and organised place with friendly and knowledgeable staff, having new sections of reptiles and aquatic utilities. They have more than everything that you want for your lovely fishy! The heaven for fishy lovers! The beautiful settings and a very organised aquarium!

Negative experience: Today we went to buy a new Aquarium at this shop. The shop had some options to choose from. Attitude of one senior staff member, Ben M, was appalling. He was extremely rude to our family, was reluctant to explain and answer our queries and quite impatient. In terms of customer service, the shop should get Zero stars. He even spoke quite rudely to our child which is unacceptable. We will not be going back to this shop to buy anything more.

Negative experience: I bought 3 Anubias, they’ve been hit by anubias rot , when I opened the bag at home it stinks , Absolutely disappointed ,☹️

Negative experience: Ordered 10 chilli rasboras delivered to my house. 1 was dead on arrival which I received a voucher. However 2 of them were very skinny and subsequently died the next day. I also received one phoenix rasbora instead of chilli. Bit disappointed.

Negative experience: I had a very disappointing experience at Nature Pet on 3rd January 2025. I went to drop off some fish worth over $300, offering them for free. Just a week ago, I visited the store to confirm the process of dropping the fish and collected bags for transport. Unfortunately, when I returned today, the person working at the store was extremely rude, both to me and to another employee of a different origin.Despite my intention to help by donating the fish, I was treated like I was there to get something for free. It was disheartening, especially considering I’ve been a regular customer and have had good experiences in the past. The attitude of this staff member was toxic and doesn’t reflect the welcoming environment. I hope the management addresses this issue, as this kind of behaviour can really tarnish the reputation.

Fantastic experience: So impressed! Excellent range of products and excellent prices. Living in WA aquarium items are so inflated, but Nature Pets is excellent value for money with great prices. Received my order in 3 days, tracking was brilliant. Highly recommend Nature Pets and Aquarium.

Negative experience: Have been coming here for years for all our aquarium needs and the staff have always been fantastic until we were served by the owner today who was aggressive in his approach, condescending and unhelpful. We will find a friendlier business. Very disappointing.

Fantastic experience: I don’t usually do reviews. But this store deserves it. I recently decided to make the (slightly longer) trek out here, after visiting the closer store to me, Coburg Aquariums, and seeing the horrendous conditions their fish are kept in, and the inherent lack of knowledge their staff have. Nature Aquariums is truly every fishkeeping hobbyists dream, all of their fish are in immaculate conditions, and are happy and healthy. Their extensive range of lush, healthy plants are truly unmatched, and the aquascaped displays as you walk into the store are truly a testament to this stores immaculate care of the animals and plants in their care, all of the freshwater displays I looked at (I know nothing about reefs) had incredibly healthy, lush, and vibrant plants, and the fish in these displays could not have been more healthy or happy. If you are reading this and don’t know which of the stores around Melbourne to visit, I’ll make it easy for you, Nature Aquariums Blackburn. It was well worth the longer trip, and after being able to visibly see the amount of care the staff in this care have, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. They also keep their betta’s in the largest tanks I have seen anyone do, all attached to (I believe) a sump, if want a fighting fish/betta in perfect health, GO HERE.

Positive experience: Fantastic Store for Aquarium Enthusiasts! I’ve only been to Nature Pets & Aquariums a couple of times, but each visit has been a really great experience. Parking is always plentiful, thanks to their large car park, which makes popping in super convenient. Their range of products is truly impressive. I’ve never walked into an aquarium store before and thought, Wow, they literally have everything from every brand! Most of their pricing is very competitive, although some items are priced a bit higher. Still, overall, it’s a great place to shop. I haven’t explored their fish selection yet, as I’ve mainly been focused on products for my CO2 tanks, like liquid fertilizers. But one thing that stood out to me was their massive selection of rocks and driftwood. They have so many different types, perfect for anyone who loves aquascaping or wants to put extra effort into designing their tank. If you’re looking for quality products and a great selection, Nature Pets & Aquariums is definitely worth checking out!

Negative experience: Asked for the quietest wave makers available, as was going in lounge room Was told nero 7s, got them home and anything above 40% they produced a loud hum noise. Returned them, then they put next to a reef wave and said the nero are quieter so there nothing they can do about it.. Wasn't happy about, it over $800 down the drain and owner was arrogant prick about it.. Bought 2nd hand mp40s and they are dead silent... Stay clear from this shop

Negative experience: Purchased an Eheim filter from them which straight out of the box didn’t work. I understand these things happen but I’ve emailed them multiple times now over the last couple of weeks trying to organise a refund and I’ve not received a reply. Extremely frustrating Edit: after 6 weeks straight of ignored emails I finally get a reply, I get a very poorly worded apology and get told I’d have to cover the cost of postage with the faulty product and I’d be reimbursed if it’s found to be faulty. To be clear the filter will not work for 99% of the time. I mailed it back, they’ve taken their time and said it works they’ve sent it back with a video of it working. I’m hesitant but I trust they’ve tested it properly and not just thrown it in the water, I get it back and straight away it’s not working. After a further month of extremely slow replying I state I’m following up under consumer laws, amazingly I get a reply the same day advising I can get a full refund of my filter. After nearly 3 months you’d think it was over? I got my refund and I’ve followed up regarding the postage costs I was told I’d be reimbursed. Please understand all my communications have been extremely respectful, they’re managing to ignore my emails, my instagram messages and my phone calls. I get told management will call me back and nothing happens. It’s a shame as I have quite a few friends in the hobby who have spent lots of money here without issue, but moving forward we’re going to find a new supplier.

Fantastic experience: Had the best experience today (Sun 27th Oct). Not only was the overall facility immaculate but I had the helping hand of James. He was phenomenal! He knew his stuff and being a first time large aquarium owner his recommendations and advice were amazing! I gave him some fish that I liked and he showed me a bunch of different fish that would work well together! I absolutely will be back and will recommend to anyone interested in keeping fish!

Negative experience: If you like being ignored this is the place to buy from. If you have any issues with an online order they will ignore multiple E-Mails from you. Instead buy from stores that have the decency to respond.

Negative experience: Purchased item and had to provide evidence of payment a week later (sent this to them). Two weeks in “item is still there and not left” No sorry no apology, apparently my fault cause their first email went to junk box and I didn’t check?? Not good enough.

Fantastic experience: Came in today after work with my friend. As a person who have no fish or pet, this is the first time I ever entered stores like this. Stunning and attractive when I walked in. I can stay in here and watch those life for whole day(if they let me). Store staffs here are all well manners and full of knowledge that I can feel they loving their jobs and they explained to my friend very professionally. Very nice place to relief my whole week’s working stress as well!!! Highly recommended! Will have my tank in the future if my circumstances are allowed!

Fantastic experience: Great range of products and amazing staff with lots of knowledge, they have helped me numerous times with different medications for fish diseases from fish that I bought elsewhere. Will 100% be coming back.

They have a huge range, including a lot of hardscaping materials and tanks - I will be back! While I was browsing, no less than 3 staff stopped to check if I needed assistance. Great service and great store.

Negative experience: Great range of products, and livestock. However I recently purchased a piece of driftwood, which after rinsing and soaking I added to my tank with caridina shrimp. Less than 24 hours later and every single shrimp had died. No other additions or changer were made to this tank, and had been previously running for many months. I tried contacting the store, however I have not received a response nearly two weeks on. This is very disappointing, some form of communication and acknowledgement would have been appreciated. Hopefully no one else experiences something similar.

Negative experience: Placed an order that was apparently "In stock" only to receive an email saying that they were a special order item. They did send the rest of my order and assured me it wouldn't take too long for the item to come in. Over a month later I'm still waiting for the item with pretty much no communication from them. Cancelled my order today but this has set back my tank build by a significant chunk.

Negative experience: Eventually refunded me for fish that I ordered that were falsely advertised however not without trying to blame me for the issue & having a bad attitude about the whole thing... don't trust the pictures of the fish on their website

Positive experience: Online shopping with this shop has been disappointing. I ordered a "medium" bunch of needle leaf java fern, expecting a reasonable amount of leaves given the price. However, what I received was a plant with only about 4 leaves, 2 of which were damaged and ripped in half. I've reached out via email and sent a photo, but unfortunately, I never received any response. Some sort of acknowledgement or response to my emails would have been great!

Fantastic experience: Arguably the biggest aquarium shop in Melbourne. Great staff, friendly service. After months and months of struggling with algea in our pond it is finally fixed. New fish is also happy lol.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic live plants and stock selection for my aquariums!

Positive experience: There was a plentiful amount of fish, aquatic plants and accessories! They have good prices and perfect to bring kids to have a look. Staff were approachable, welcoming and always keen on helping. However, the availability of some fish is the biggest downside. Sometimes the fish are not for sale or are sold out. In conclusion, this is a great place to visit to learn more about fishes and get fish/accessories for your aquarium!

Positive experience: I like this new location better because of the ample parking. The shop itself is bigger and not cramped. The selections are great with good price. Only had a bit of waiting time due to low staff but I can see they really take the time to tend to each customer.

Negative experience: Extremely disappointed!!! After spending over $10,000 in tanks, fish, supplies and services over the years, they do not value customers. Unbelievably condescending attitude displayed by most staff, especially owner STEVE. Do not bother wasting your money here. Today the cherry shrimps which I have spent over $500 (buy regularly every couple weeks) had LEECHES and WORMS in the display tank in-store. This was the final straw and I have had enough.

Fantastic experience: Amazing quality supplies, the team work really hard to keep the everything in great condition. Not like many other supplies stores where the fish are neglected, quality of the water in their tanks is incredible and lots of really healthy fish! Great selection and very helpful staff, highly recommended!

Negative experience: I was disappointed after visiting the store and being told on the phone that you had more then betta fish then you did and the state and conditions the betta fish you did have were in. Betta fish in smaller containers then the ones at petbarn .. wouldn’t be more then 250 ml(a cup) with no filter or heater …. Fish lying on the floor with fin rot. I was appalled!

Fantastic experience: This is by far the best fish store i have ever been to. The best quality care for fish, no overstocking, good water quality, no fish crammed into small spaces. The friendly staff help so much and give excellent advice. A definite 5 stars although some things cost more than average and the refund policy is short.

Fantastic experience: I have shopped for aquarium supplies here for the past 2 years and have been very happy. They have a huge range of fish and plant species and a great selection of equipment. The staff are knowledgeable and recently Bailey was super friendly and happy to help me out with a piece of equipment experiencing a manufacturing fault. I highly recommend this place whether you are new to the hobby, or are an experienced aquarium keeper.

Fantastic experience: Wow, I just happened to stumble across this place because I was in the area, and omg it’s an aquatic oasis in here. Friendly and helpful staff, heaps of aquariums on display, lots of fish, plants and accessories. Highly recommend.

Negative experience: They get one star for moving locations as this means that parking has drastically improved so it is possible to go into the shop now. Unfortunately despite visiting the shop on at least 4 separate recent occasions at different times of day I have not been able to purchase any fish or plants because there is absolutely no customer service. The staff are very selective in who they assist i noticed them approach other people but they never approached me or another customer even though we were standing at their station waiting for someone to come help. The photo is for reference re. Where NOT to stand if you want assistance. I am not sure what I am doing wrong but attempting to buy anything here is nearly impossible. Don't waste your time.
