Fantastic experience: Incredible!!! So happy I got to see cracker the dolphin so close at shore! Arrive at 8am out the front of the centre where volunteers guide you for the free interaction. The discovery centre also is informative with fish tanks with turtles, octopus, and some hands on displays for the kids. There is also a cafe. A great experience highly recomend.

Negative experience: Under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016, disturbing a cetacean (dolphin or whale) is a serious offence. Fines for breaching these distances or harassing marine life can reach up to $500,000. You do this every day.

Negative experience: One to ten, value for money probably a 4. This was comparing to other places charging similar amount. Raptor center much much better. Aquarium in Busselton much much better. Ok for first time children to see octopus, turtles and a few fish. Could not hear the movie presentation, the other presentation, during school holiday period was non functional. Quite a disappointment

Fantastic experience: The swimming with dolphins was awesome! We spent quite a long time with the dolphins in the water. Our guide Kim and the volunteers were great and really took care of the dolphins. As they are wild animals we were rather waiting for them to approach us, than swimming towards them. For our group that worked out perfectly, the dolphins came to us, circled us several times and swam right besides and beneath us. Great experience and highly recommendable.

Negative experience: We bought cake and coffee. I have to say the service was amazing and Kevin our server was a breath of fresh air with his polite personality and quirky jokes put a smile on our faces. The coffee was cold . But the worst was the carrot cake we ordered was dry and tasteless . The table was grubby and there was ants on it. Thank goodness for Kevin as that is the only good experience.

I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. From the start, genuine commitment of the team weas evident. The guarantee of a dolphin encounter, with a complimentary re-booking option should a sighting be missed, shows a true dedication to the visitor experience. The gear provided—the wetsuit, goggles, and fins—was all clean and well-maintained, ensuring comfort and safety in the water. Our guide, Yvette deserves special shout-out. She was not only informative about the dolphins and their environment but also wonderfully genuine in her enthusiasm. Her passion was infectious. Every volunteer on the tour was friendly, helpful, and contributed to the welcoming atmosphere. Despite the water being a little murky following a storm the day before, the dolphin encounter itself was breathtaking. The dolphins were curious and interactive, swimming close to our group many times. I was fortunate enough to have several swim right next to me and beneath me—close enough to feel like I could touch them. Knowing that the centre operates as a non-profit organization and that these tours directly fund essential research into dolphin conservation makes the experience even more meaningful. I wholeheartedly recommend this tour. It's an incredible opportunity to connect with nature while supporting a vital cause.

Fantastic experience: What a well set up place to learn about our marine life. Lots for the kids to do to keep them entertained. We loved the talk and feeding presentation.

Negative experience: over pricey, and since the weather turned out rainy wasnt able to get the view of the dolphins.

Positive experience: As a group of 5, we decided to do a day trip to the DDC today being a Thurs to wrap up the school holiday. Drove 2 hours down, got there around 10.30am, 2-3 groups waiting in line for entry. We made it to get a glimpse of a dolphin fin half way down to the interaction zone, then came back for feeding time inside the centre. The marine discovery centre wasn’t big but had enough to offer for an hour or so. Younger children could spend longer in there. They also have a scanner for kids’ colourings to be scanned and projected onto the screens. We then went on the train ride for $35 for all 5 of us before coming back to spend a bit more time at the interaction zone but no dolphin showed up again. Most staff members were friendly and helpful. The toilets there in DDC have warm showers which was very helpful. There is this big playground next to DDC, with flying fox and suspended rope bridge. We will come back again if we are in the area again, and will bring the kids back to swim with the dolphins when kids are more grown up. The only thing to mention is that the website is a bit confusing in main entry vs feeding time tickets. It looked to me that we would have to get separate passes for entry and feeding times. All in all we had a good day.

Negative experience: REVIEW OF THE COFFE SHOP, ONLY Albeit being thoroughly described to the tiniest detail, half of the order was grossly confused. No apologies were offered while the confused items were re-brewed, in sequence - no prompt service was provided to cure the situation. So, the half of the order cooled down while sitting on the table, and had to be consumed in rush. To purchase one extra marshmallow, I was sent back into the queue. Tables are not wiped cleaned after the dishes are removed after the customers departure - it needs to be asked for, extra. Very few smiles but a great selection of frowns instead. And yes, the barista brings the clean mugs from the kitchen by grabbing them with her fingers by insides, not by handles. RECOMMENDATION: Order your coffee elsewhere.

Positive experience: The Dolphin trip was amazing. 5 stars. The skipper was lovely and very knowledgeable, she made sure that we would spot the dolphins. However, when we went to the discovery centre, the staff were so rude. No smiles, no idea about customer service. The cafe staff were the worst, one girl got my order wrong twice and didn’t know how to give the correct change. Then the other two girls were gossiping about her right in front of the customers! 100% yes to the dolphin trip but definitely wouldn’t go back to the centre unless they have pleasant staff.

Our skipper tried his absolute hardest to find some and eventually we did just nearing the end of our tour so he extended it so we could spend some time looking at the dolphins! Fantastic experience: We were warned by the staff that weather is not ideal and should return another day. But we chose to go ahead as our itinerary is qt packed. It was really choppy on the boat due to the strong winds. But we still managed to see dolphins which is really qt an experience. We were all sea sick after that but I would say it's still worth it for the experience. All the staff were very friendly and kind to the kids.

Negative experience: Horrible. Would rate 0 stars if possible. Booked a party for our 4yr old, told the table was okay for 20 and that we could bring our own food, everyone gets there and the manager has the nerve to berate us in front of all our guests, other customers and staff. We were told by her "we don't host parties and you will be charged $10 per person for today" We had already spent over $800 on chips, drinks and entry into the attraction area, yet we were belittled and told to pay an extra $210 despite this. No onus was taken on their behalf for communicating false information and telling us we were okay to hold the party there and we were told to either pay or leave. Completely disrespectful treatment by absolutely all the staff members. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS ESTABLISHMENT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

Fantastic experience: The Dolphin Discovery Centre in Bunbury was an absolute highlight of our trip — and a perfect sanctuary on a wet and rainy day with the kids. As soon as we stepped inside, we were impressed by how well-designed and family-friendly the space was. It’s clear that the centre is not just about entertainment, but also about education, conservation, and meaningful engagement with marine life. Our kids were immediately drawn to the interactive exhibits — from the fascinating digital displays that explain dolphin behavior, to the touch pool where they got to gently handle starfish and sea cucumbers. The marine life 3D movie was a surprise hit with our younger ones, who sat mesmerized by the stunning visuals and underwater footage. Everything was hands-on, engaging, and perfectly pitched for children, while still being interesting for adults. The staff and volunteers were truly wonderful — warm, welcoming, and full of knowledge. They took the time to explain things to our children and answer all their (many!) questions patiently. Their passion for marine conservation really shines through, and it added depth and meaning to the whole visit. We left feeling like we had learned something new, not just had a good time. There’s also a small café on site with great coffee, simple kid-friendly meals, and panoramic views of the bay. It was a nice spot to unwind while the rain poured outside. Even better, we learned that if you come back on a sunnier day, you can take part in their dolphin eco-cruises or beach encounters — which we’d love to try next time. All in all, the Dolphin Discovery Centre is a top-notch experience for families, especially if you’re looking for a quality indoor activity during bad weather. It was fun, educational, and left us with warm memories and a deeper appreciation for marine life. Highly recommend!

Fantastic experience: What an incredible place. Everything was so well laid out, the staff there were so present and kind. A special mention to Suzette who was very informative and helpful with all of the children. We stayed for the main tank feeding, and the man speaking was fantastic. Lots to see, read and do. Overall a great experience and would visit again.

Fantastic experience: had a wonderful trip this morning. what we loved about it was the short journey needed to spot the dolphins, no choppy waters and sea sickness. almost no lull time at all, amazing time for the kids and adults alike. bonus was the humpback whale sighted tog with a small pod of dolphins!

The indoor exhibit is thoughtfully curated with interactive displays on dolphin rescues, sea turtle rehab, and marine conservation. Great for both kids and adults to learn through hands-on experiences. You can also book dolphin and whale watching tours here.. just be sure to check the timings online in advance. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, taking time to explain and answer questions on the tours.

Fantastic experience: Due to the weather, we were told to move the boarding to a different location which made it cooler to be fair! Getting on from a playground! Journey was nice and yes we caught sight of some dolphins. What’s important was that the team were really good with dolphin knowledge in the area, sharing about habits and tips on these amazing creatures in their natural habitat. Team also ensured we caught sight of dolphins! Would definitely do this again some time in the future but probably during the warmer seasons. Thank you!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I were visiting Bunbury for 2 weeks from Canada, well my husband was here on a work trip and I came along. I am so glad I decided to go on the Dolphin Eco-Cruise! We saw dolphins pretty much straight away, swimming close to the boat at times. It was a first for me and it was wonderful and amazing! Also, kudos to the Centre, employees and volunteers for their awesome job rescuing and helping marine animals. The Centre is a great place where we learn much about dolphins and other marine creatures.

Fantastic experience: We thoroughly enjoyed our dolphin discovery cruise from Bunbury. Although we were here in May when the dolphins are quieter our knowledgeable captain still found numerous pods of dolphins in the bay. His commentary was helpful. Overall it was a great trip.

Negative experience: Very disappointed for today's visit. We arrived at 2pm (1hr before close) got through fine to find all the staff inside sitting around chatting... walked through and asked what 1 of the species were to be told "I don't know, you should have come earlier because we are closing soon" (again... still an hr before close) continued wandering through as we had purchased an annual pass and weren't going to waste it... staff had their bags on their shoulders impatiently waiting to leave, went and checked out the 360 dolphin display, went to have a look at the film which had already been turned off, the interactive sand pit had been turned off as well as the VR interactive zone... quite disappointing and disheartening. We walked out at 2:45pm as nobody was willing to discuss and educate us or help us navigate anything. To be closing at 3pm on top of that experience shuts down the ability for children to get the interaction and education that isn't offered anywhere else. Will be trying 1 more time but if we have the same experience then we will not be renewing our annual family pass

Fantastic experience: Great place really friendly volenteers who were very knowlegable about the dolphins and their behaviour.

Positive experience: Honest review. It's a beautiful place, and the tour guides are extremely talented and passionate in what they do. But in my opinion, it wasn't worth $60 to see a couple dolphins when they could be easily seen from the shore. If the beach/bay had other geographical features or cool formations or if there were other animals to spot apart from just dolphins, it would've been worth it. But it is what it is! While the discovery Centre mini Aquarium was very small, I think the interactive features were quite cool and different, there were some fish I've never seen even in other, famous aquariums like sea life in sydney. This part was worth it in general compared to the cruise. But if you're looking for a proper Aquarium experience, it would be quite dissapointing (sealife is 2x the cost but the Aquarium/walk area is maybe 20x bigger). If you're looking to spend your money somewhere in bunbury, I would highly recommend bunbury wildlife park, its about the same price but you get to interact with the animals a lot more. All in all, I'm happy to know that the money goes back towards the conservation and research of our wildlife, and it was still a pleasant experience.

Fantastic experience: Had a fantastic time swimming with the dolphins out in the Indian Ocean today. Axel was a super host and taught us so much about the mammals! Seeing the dolphins was breathtaking and I 100% recommend going during the season!

Negative experience: Worth a visit as there is really not much else to do in Bunbury. A bit of a tourist trap id say, great for kids yes. But I can't get past how the 'rescued' sea life are living a better life in the tiny tanks. The turtles spent the entire feeding session banging into walls and trying to get away from the people 'feeding' them. The Octopus are in tiny boring boxes - for an intelligent animal these tanks looked incredibly depressing. They also refused to come out for feeding. You can't help but think this is because they are so under stimulated they are waiting to die. It seemed like a sad aquarium

Fantastic experience: Hubby and I did the dolphin eco cruise today and absolutely loved it. Staff (especially our tour guide Paul) were friendly and well organised so everything ran smoothly. The boat had plenty of space even though it was fully booked and entering from the beach was a fun way to begin. We didn’t have to go very far before we started seeing dolphins and they continued to appear throughout most of the cruise which was great. Will definitely recommend to others.

Very lucky to sight Dolphins swimming around the boat in their nature habitat. Disclaimer: remember to wear enough as the sea wind is really cold!

Fantastic experience: Despite not seeing any dolphins due to the ordinary weather, the family had a great time looking at the marine exhibits, most notably the main tank, the turtle tank and the octopus tank. We had no idea that octopus only live for up to a year to a year and a half. The cafe that adjoins the centre was also excellent and the staff who work there were great!!

Fantastic experience: A great spot to take the kids during the holidays. The bay adjacent is also perfect for a protected swim.

Positive experience: The Discovery Centre was an amazing space especially the track of rescued sea turtles. The large cylindrical dish tank was stunning toon but we were left concerned about the boring conditions for the fish in it, especially the larger species like Pink Snapper and Dhufish which seemed to have bruises from repeatedly bumping the side of the tank. The other smaller aquariums seemed better and less crowded. Overall a great place to learn about, and raise awareness for, local marine life.

Negative experience: The boat ride was good. Rocky road is actually a really wet cake and tastes disgusting as it has been cross contaminated with something garlicky

Positive experience: Seeing the dolphins on the beach was fantastic but the heritage centre is very small with a few aquariums. We were there literally 10 minutes. Wasn't worth the entrance fee. Thankyou for the reply and we are always willing to contribute to worthy charities and your work is commendable. Maybe we missed some things. The 360 degree cinema was a simple ai generated image of dolphins swimming around. The vr goggles showed similar game like images. Never saw a 2d cinema or 3d movie. Asked an attendant if that was it just past the vr section and was told yes. Aqua in Hillary's is just over $10 more for a massive venue of fish and aquariums. You do great work but thought the centre was over priced for what it had. Really just for kids. Upgraded rating due to the dolphin experience.

Fantastic experience: We are considering lucky to be there at the right time. On Internet people were saying about 9am. So we are early that day, found a nice parking spot with our motorhome, then stroll the beach at about 7+ in the morning. And we are surprised to see an early bird! I can't rmb her name, that was mentioned but they said its an rare site for early sighting. And after about 15mins, the dolphin swam away, and we went back our motorhome for breakfast. Till about 9am+ we start to see commotion, then we went back to the shoreline where the centre was, and yes we saw her again. First of all, all these experience is free, so don't worry about it. Only those going for swimming with dolphin then you need to pay,which is organised by them. Secondly, the dolphins will swim quite close to you,depending on your luck. As they swam beside us really very close like a hand reach away, while we are knee deep in seawater. Lastly! I would like to thank all the crew from DOLPHIN DISCOVERY CENTRE, for constantly looking out for dolphin and so caring these wild dolphin, which benefit us public and also these dolphin eco life!
