Fantastic experience: I loveeeee this aquarium! I love their plants for my tank , always so healthy. The staff are always so helpful and willing to answer any question, no matter how dumb I sound I also love their reptile area and my next enclosure will be a frog . Will be coming here for my supplies!

Fantastic experience: We visited Lots Of Fins Aquarium to buy the very first fish tank for our 3-year-old son, and we had absolutely no idea where to start. The team was incredibly friendly, patient, and supportive. They explained everything in a simple way and helped us choose the right tank and fish for a beginner setup. They also guided us on how to maintain the tank and take care of the fish, which gave us a lot of confidence. Our little one is super happy with his new fish, and that made the experience even more special for us. We’ll definitely be going back in a couple of weeks to buy more fish. Highly recommended!

Negative experience: Visited for the first time in a few years yesterday. Overall wasn't very impressed. The range of aquarium live stock was quite good, yet setups were quite overstocked, and there were a couple of tanks in which fish were gasping at the surface, however I did appreciate the continued use of substrate and live plants in the majority of the livestock setups, a nice constrast to the bare bottom tanks found in most shops. Dry stock was perfectly average with all bases covered sufficiently. The real letdown was the reptile section. Most of the enclosures with live animals looked subpar. Most of them only had a very thin layer of substrate, a single small hide to be shared by inhabitants, dirty or empty water bowls, and in many a scattering of old waste throughout. Additionally, many enclosures lacked UV lighting, the effect of which was paticularly noticeable in the turtles, a number of whose shells appeared to be starting to warping. The heating setups for the turtles were also concerning, with at least one enclosure using a ceramic heat emitter positioned incorrectly. The animals also do not appear to be sufficiently well fed, with many of the turtles, alongside the lace monitor appearing significantly underweight. A lot of work to be done.

Negative experience: This place should just stick to fish, their reptile knowledge is lacking. Turtles and tree frogs kept on aquarium LEDs with no UVB, algae in water bowls, wildtype jungle pythons mislabeled as Jags...

Negative experience: Over priced, staff rude and do not have the knowledge. Lack of range of products, The range of fish they have a severely over priced. The only thing they have going for them is their hours but if you can hold off and go elsewhere you may save your money and get a better experience. I really wouldn’t recommend.

As a saltwater a fish keeper the range of food additives and accessories as well of livestock is impressive. Pricing is very competitive and the Health of animals is also amazing great to see so many stores get this wrong. Very happy to say this is now my LFS.

Fantastic experience: Incredible fish and incredible staff that actually give you the time of day to answer any questions I had. Paul is an absolute well of endless knowledge and was amazing to talk to! Plus it's instantly obvious they take good care of there tanks, every tank has crystal clear water to the point that the fish within looked like they were floating in air! Absolutely phenomenal experience I would highly recommend for any aquarist whether your a beginner or a veteran these guys will give you accurate information and set straight all the conflicting information everywhere else blurbs out just to get a sale. I didn't even make a purchase on this trip and Paul spent 30 mins past his close time making sure I was a happy customer. 11/10 only Aquarium I will shop at from this day on!

Fantastic experience: First time coming to the store and I love it!! There’s tons of different fishes ranging from saltwater to freshwater fishes! your usual bettas, tetras, guppies, catfishes, goldies, snails (also my favourite crustaceans SHRIMPSS!!) and even more, including reptiles like snakes, monitor lizards and bearded dragons!!! The whole store basically has it all and I especially appreciate is the kind and generous staff member that helped me and my family enjoy our time with picking the right equipment and fish that I wanted. Along with helpful information to guide us with how to proceed from that point and I am very much thankful for her help! We’ll for sure be coming back soon!

Fantastic experience: Came in today for the first time and had a look, staff were so lovely and willing to give me advice on some plants. I bought a stand as well and they lowered the price for me (it was discontinued) as well as making sure my tank would be the right size for it.

Fantastic experience: Been coming to this place for a couple of years, they got me into co2. The knowledge is awesome. Ive been keeping tropical fish for over 20 years, and still learn heaps from them. I had a problem with cloudy water that I hadn't encountered before, spoke to one of the lovely staff there, got a recommendation and bam. Within a week I've got water clearer than ive ever seen. Thanks again!!!

Negative experience: Very over priced. Not worth worth the money. I sent my son in to buy some plants for my Betta tank, i told him the size and told him what the size of the tank was and to ask them to recommend what the best plants were to help filtration. Not only did they see him coming and rip him off, my actual fish is bigger than the pants!!!! He even pointed out my actual tank in the store and showed her!!! i don’t know how my better is going to hide and lay on them when they are smaller than him. He asked them what would be the best plants to help with the levels of ammonia, and. she said don’t feed them as much. Thank you for your advice, but I won’t be ever coming back, after buying all my Betta’s there, and all the equipment. Sorry do better. !!!!!

Fantastic experience: Lots Of Fins in Narre Warren are extremely knowledgeable in terms of their products and Fish. We went in looking for a new fish tank after being extremely disappointed with our previous one which was from another store, and was sold on the Juwel Rio 240 Fish Tank. It is more of an advanced tank compared to our old one, and we prefer the look of this tank. Hayley who encouraged us to go for this fish tank knew what she was talking about in terms of specs and quality, and did us a solid deal after speaking to her manager. We also had Caleb assemble the cabinet for us which we were really appreciative of and we couldn't of been in better hands when purchasing another fish tank. We found the right place, and we won't be going anywhere else when it comes to our Fish and their needs. We will be coming to Lots of Fins for all our purchases as they really know their stuff. Thank you so much Hayley, Caleb & also the Manager who made our purchase happen and to anyone else involved in the transaction, were beyond greatful and love our new Juwel Rio 240 litre Fish Tank.

Negative experience: My experience with this store has been terribly disappointing. I followed the sales reps instructions for setting up a brand new tank and purchased everything that was suggested (this was hundreds of dollars). Fish were sick straight after being placed in brand new tank and ended up dying after 2 days. The remaining fish were also not in great health. We received no compensation and received minimal help from staff, all they seem to care about was selling us new products each time to cure their sick fish.

Negative experience: They are selling 5 times more than other places. The guy seems to be in a hurry to sell off things and don't care what u really need to know or don't. I'm slightly disappointed. Not going back..

Negative experience: I would not recommend buying fish from Fins Aquarium!! We purchased a tropical fish for $95.00 and it was introduced to our tank when we brought it home on Saturday. We have over 5 different species who have lived in this tank with no issues. Our new tropical fish was swimming upside down yesterday morning and when we go home it was dead after 5 days. This is the 2nd fish we have brought from Fins Aquarium that has died within a week, and they suggested it was an issue with our tank!! Wake UP guys!! I suggest you need to look at the condition of your tanks and water quality before selling any more fish without providing a guarantee!!

Negative experience: Decent collection but staff didn't say boo when we came in or the entire time we were there. There was a guy sitting in a chair looking bored as hell but didn't say hi so maybe he wasn't even staff, then he disappeared when we came back to see someone to talk to. We came in to ask about a full tank and some fish, but decided to take our business elsewhere. 2 staff and 1 other customer but it's like we were invisible. Also clean your guppy tanks guys. There's one in a tank that's very decayed. Clearly not a new death, so that'll contaminate the water. The other fish next to it was leaned against the wall, so I'm assuming it was sick. Disappointed over all. Could have been a place we'd visit often.

But the blonde lady and black headed lady were two bush cleaning a tank and talking amongst themselves to give us the time of the day. We wanted the buy things and have lunch there but it completely put me off the service.

Fantastic experience: Went in to get some answers about my cloudy aquarium, the guy I spoke to was very knowledgeable and explained why it could of been cloudy turns out I needed to replace my carbon in my canister filter that was a horrible quality! And gave a detailed description on how my canister should be stacked! Tank cleared up within 2 days after switching stuff over! Thankyou so much

Negative experience: Lots to choose from, very large selection of fish varieties, however I walked out empty handed as the tanks were heavily stocked, cloudy and I noticed many dead and dying fish. The prices are on the higher end and I was not willing to risk it.

Positive experience: Really beautiful store. Fish are well looked after! The owner is knowledgeable and helped a lot to pick and look after our new fish. Only downside is I spent a lot on fish food & meds, which were just handed to us, we just went with it cuz we wanted the best for the fish. I didn't notice until I got home that everything I bought is out of date by 3 - 12 months. Will continue to shop here, just double check the expiry date on stock first :)

Fantastic experience: Really cool selection. Great place to take the children and just look around a bit because the variety is unmatched and you will see more unique offerings than most. Also in the reptile and amphibian game as of August 2024 when a lot of pet stores are re-homing at other stores and no longer offering them. Also have spiders, scorpions, the odd snake, and a cafe nearby, so a must visit for anyone in the surrounds looking for a store that specialises in non-furry companions. Store is excellently taken care of and staff actually seem to enjoy working there, and can be seen tending to the tanks and aquatic occupants. All the stores in Pakenham now have tanks that look like they haven't been cleaned in months and don't seem particularly concerned that their tanks often house dead fish. None of that here. Most tanks were pristine with a specialised tropical section, and some living sea fare such as anemones, urchins, starfish, seahorses, snails, cucumbers, crabs, as well as varied live plants and terrariums. Was even a small shark and a moray eel, who my sons named Marty and got around 30 mins of entertainment watching him. I honestly don't believe there is much they do not stock, so if you are looking for a more specialised store with ample variety, simply head straight here and the friendly and knowledgeable staff will point you in the right direction. The only thing that may constitute a con is the multiple rooms and variety won't allow for a short visit. If you want to take it all in, allow for a considerable block of time to do so

Negative experience: ***edited x2/my reply at the bottom*** Wouldnt even bother supporting them. Enquired online about selling fish to them, gave them quantity and sizing. When i arrived (i live an hour away) was told they wont buy them for the agreed price because theyre too small and need to be this big, holding up his fingers, and that they determine the size based on what they think Xcm is not what is on a tape measure. Offered me half of what was agreed over messages and store credit, not cash like agreed upon. I walked out and will encourage the people i know locally in the fish community to make appropriate decisions before going back there My reply Have a look at the attitude of the business owner in their reply. Says it all. The fish were 4-5 weeks old when i messaged them and then 6-7 weeks when i took them in. I stated they were 2cm, 2cm is 2cm. They held their fingers up at least 4cm saying they need to be this big. Despite what we agreed on, with the size being 2cm, in messages, reneged on what they said. They call me cruel, yet, allow me to drive over an hour knowing the fish are 2cm, to then offer me half hoping id settle for it or have fun on my over an hour drive back, with the fish. I gave an honest review and experience i had. Their reply has just confirmed that my experience is exactly what i have stated and what to expect. They dont like bad reviews yet treat people and reply in the same way. Thank you 2nd edit If you were as honest as you make out, you would have honoured your offer. 2cm is 2cm, not +4cm shown with your fingers on quote 'what you determine is 2cm'. Once again, an honest review of what happened and my experience that you agreed with yet, you think it is acceptable and I am the bad person. Your replies say it all

Negative experience: Bought 2 fancy goldfish around 6months ago from Lots of Fins (both dead after around 3) my tank is well established (2yrs running) all water parameters all excellent and spent over $300 on these 2 fish. The water quality the goldfish are in (bar that planted 1 tank at the front is terrible) this cant be denied, go see for yourself! (I should of gone with my instinct when I walked in). Very disappointing and never going back! 1 star is generous, very generous! ------------ (2nd) Response after your very immature one below: Nice professional reply by the way (childish), do you realize Goldfish should live for years. (not 3 months) my water parameters are all excellent and have been weekly! What a very dismal blaming game response from you, I see this is normal looking at your many with others I have just seen Goodluck! Your water quality for the goldfish in your store in that Aile you keep the fancies is very questionable, never again and I will warn others!!! Let me get this straight as you said: Goldfish don't die in 3 months, what's your lifespan for them lol? They came very lethargic as well but I let this slip, very silly of me, I know! Seriously! Shocking and with attitude, well done, keep it up! I would never run my business as such and add zero compassion as a response to the list, very bad friend. Not good at all!

Negative experience: Told store I wanted a small tank with a couple of gold fish. Spent $280 on set up. Went back next day to purchase fish as per their instructions only to be told if I buy 2 gold fish will have to upgrade to a bigger tank. Very disappointed. Feel I have been ripped off

Fantastic experience: Purchased a Pond one Claritin filtration system got home had issues with it leaking took it back to the store they were fantastic in helping me sort out issue.Had the rep out next day found out that the bucket was out of shape replaced all faulty components and gave me spare filters and UV light very helpful and friendly .

Negative experience: I have not had a good experience. Sadly. I was sent home with two male mandarin dragonets. On a second day of new salt water tank. After I researched it, horrified I took one back, naively thinking that I could hand feed the second one. Definitely won’t be returning there.

Negative experience: Avoid this business like the plague, I wish I never bought my aquarium from here, everything is well overpriced compared to many other Aquarium shops, unfortunately I didn't relise what std prices are until afterwards, hard to get service from anyone and very rude, and lastly the advice what they give is wrong ,basically set you up to fail , they either do this on purpose or just simply don't care!

Fantastic experience: This has got to be the best aquarium place in Melbourne. Absolutely everything in stock, and reasonable prices. Grab a yummy Nutella milk shake from the coffee shop (kids loved it!) while you browse. Nice owners and really quality stuff, especially if you are a serious collector or just newbie like us.

Negative experience: Really disappointing. Have been coming here for quiet some time and over the months more and more fish are dead in the tanks and aren’t removed for a while as I see the same dead when I come the next time. Staff are always on the defence and quick to blame each other. So many fish have damaged fins … If your comany staff have fighting fish with other fish in the same tank and YOU KNOW they are nipping the fish and damaging them… take them out and don’t sell damaged fish to your community. Take pride. It’s becoming the same issue all the time. I think this was our last attempt coming here..

Negative experience: October 2022 From 5 Stars to Zero 5 How times change,, Yes they still have a great range and they have expanded even more, but after a 3 year absence from the Aquarium scene due to health reasons, I decided to go back and arrange for a new Salt Water Aquarium. Which I paid for in full, prior to installation due to the previous history with the store, but then the Customer Service and the Communication basically became very poor to the point after 12 days I cancelled the order with the same person I did the order with, only to be told that they could not authorize the credit only the Owner and this is where they lose points as trying to obtain a legally allowed Credit under the Australian Consumer Law is and has become a nightmare with the store's management insistence that they, HE, will only give a store credit. And they, HE, will even ring you and bully you and basically harass you on the phone by telling you the products are still ready to be installed when ever you are ready.. AS if, i would now have any one from Lots of Fins in my Home or ever recommend them again. So be very careful and ensure, you obtain everything in writing and any invoice is itemized. Also make sure you are aware of the credit policy and the Australia Consumer Law. covering your rights It really should not be this hard to buy an Aquarium, but thanks for making it such a bad experience, that I truly regret ever going back to a store I once could highly recommend , but sadly no more... Fantastic experience: This place is fantastic with super friendly staff. I just went to visit the cafe there for a coffee and to look around with my 1 year old. So many things on display lots of fish and now reptiles. My son had a great time looking at the wonders of the under water world.

Fantastic experience: Plenty variety in fish, frogs turtles and more, with a great selection of product to care well for them. The staff are very helpful and friendly. There is also the option of a snack experience indoors if you wanted to eat something while looking at the fish. Ive been there twice and will definitely go back for my fishy needs.

Fantastic experience: This owner was amazing standing up to these police. This man is doing more for his and other countries by donating alot of money then the government has itself. It's great to watch what this man's doing and standing firm! Great job mate.
