Fantastic experience: Visited again after 10 years and still loved it! Even with teenagers now, the kids had a great time. The VR attraction was a highlight, and we got discounted tickets through OZ Experience. Great day out — would visit again!
Fantastic experience: We took our family to SEA LIFE today, as our daughter—who is in palliative care—absolutely loves sea animals. While our other two children were enjoying the VR experience, I asked if there was any way our wheelchair-bound daughter might also be able to take part. Pheobe went above and beyond to make it happen. She ensured our daughter could remain comfortably in her wheelchair and still fully experience the VR alongside her siblings. Pheobe was incredibly kind, compassionate, and attentive—checking in throughout to make sure our daughter was okay. Her care and thoughtfulness truly meant the world to us. Thank you for making such a special memory for our family.
Fantastic experience: I recently book an Extreme Shark Dive experience as a birthday present for my wife (I had to go also to give support and ensure the shark would eat me first in the event they weren't fed that morning :) just kidding:)) Unfortunately we could not meet the medical requirements to proceed with the dive ( I think quietly my wife was relieved :) ) Anyway, Sea Life were great through the process and refunded us in full. Thank you Sea Life. We'll be back for another visit

Positive experience: Bit crowded and expensive but a good experience for the kids.
Negative experience: It’s easy to walk through an aquarium and become mesmerised by glowing tanks, colourful fish and choreographed displays. Visitors see clear water, pretty lighting, and smooth soundtracks — and they leave saying they were “well entertained” or “nicely served.” But beneath that polished surface is a very different story: the story of the animals themselves. Most of the creatures we see in aquariums live in environments that cannot come close to the scale, complexity, and freedom of the ocean. A single dolphin or shark in captivity may have access to only a tiny fraction of the space it would naturally roam. Animals that would travel kilometres each day are instead confined to pools that often feel like bathtubs compared to the wild. And yet we judge the experience by how we felt, not by how they are living.

Fantastic experience: The admission prices are reasonable. But if you book days in advance they are cheaper. We paid an extra $15 per person for the Behind-the-Scenes Tour I loved seeing all the animals. There was an adorable baby penguin and a fun hands-on section where we got to touch some marine life. Walking through the underwater tunnels was definitely a highlight, it felt like being surrounded by the ocean — though it was crowded at times. The Behind-the-Scenes Tour was a great experience. We saw how they house for injured animals and protect local marine life. There were three green sea turtles recovering, and we got to look down into the big pool above the tunnels — seeing the sharks and other animals swimming below was amazing. The seal show was light-hearted and fun, especially Ruby, a playful five-year-old seal. She was absolutely adorable! In total, we saw three seals during the show. The café, which had some food options — mainly small snacks and pies. So, don’t expect a full meal there. The only downside was, the Behind-the-Scenes Tour felt a little short, and unfortunately, no photos or videos were allowed during it. A wonderful experience and perfect would definitely come back again!!

Fantastic experience: Was here 20 years ago as a kid, now back again as an adult. Still as incredible as ever! That said I miss the 2006 Jeep Fishtank. In where the engine was the filter system. Pretty mad lol.

Fantastic experience: Our family with teenage kids wanted to go in here and we all loved it. Spent a good 2 and a bit hours in here as we explored the aquarium. Has so many sea creatures and even warning signs when you enter the penguin area as it stinks! You ignore the smell when you see the penguins and the cafe was reasonably priced. The seal talk was great and informative and kept my teens engaged and out of the heat for a few hours. Customer service at front desk was amazing also.

Positive experience: Great experience, my only concern is the steepness of the Ramos for mobility users, I had to get my wife to take my scooter up the ramp and I had to walk due to the weight vs incline, some of the spaces are a touch snug to maneuver through, a lift from the bottom most level back to the surface level would be a great benefit to those with mobility issues and aids
Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience. Kids thoroughly loved it. Seal talk and show was great. We went during school holidays so it did get busy but was still able to easily move around. I'd recommend buying tickets in advanced.

Negative experience: Aquarium is definitely outdated in layout and exhibitions. Penguin Enclosure does not need to be on the nose, not fishy but ammonia/urine stench. General lack of different species. Cairns Aquarium is the minimum standard. Sunshine Coast is such a popular destination, time to lift the standard.
Positive experience: It's ok not the best layout as there are several choke points, but there are fish lol
Fantastic experience: This is a review for the amazing customer service I received from Brontë Hahn via email. They answered every and any question, and replied within the day or the next morning. They also helped me with a refund for the dive extreme experience, as I was not allowed to participate due to medical issues. They did this promptly and everything was a smooth process. Despite not getting to do the experience, I was so happy with the customer service I received and I'm grateful. Thank you, Tahnee.

Positive experience: Interesting and informative way to spend a couple of hours, but it isn't large and is a bit pricey. Don't fall for their ads saying you can buy adult tickets online from them for $36 each, only to find that their cheapest adult online tickets are $44. Go to Agoda instead, select "Activities", and you can buy the adult tickets for <$36 each, securely pay through PayPal or a credit card, then receive a QR code one can have scanned for entry.

Positive experience: We quite enjoyed seeing the aquarium, and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It isn't large, we saw all of it and took our time (& lots of pics), in a bit over 2 hours but it's easy to walk away having been entertained while learning new things, a great combination. Buying tickets was one of the most difficult parts as their ads say general admission adult tickets are $36 of purchased online, but when one goes online the cheapest are $44. It annoys me when companies do this so a Google search led me to Agoda where I bought 2 adult tickets for $71, they sent me a QR code for the tickets and the aquarium staff just scan them on entry. I would readily recommend going, it was an interesting experience.

Fantastic experience: Great for kids. Good way to pass an hour or two. Staff were friendly and helpful
Positive experience: Good fun for the kids and teens take some extra $$ for pics with seals kids won't forget it
Fantastic experience: Fabulous displays, great seal show. Allow several hours for a visit as there is do much to see. Great day trip for kids and adults alike. Online tickets are cheaper. Weekdays are best if possible. Lots of eateries in surrounding streets or cafe on site. Plenty of parking nearby when we visited.
Negative experience: Do not pay for photos with the seals. Terrible experience. We paid for one group photo and a single for my eldest daughter but only ended up getting the group as they had ‘run out of food for the seal’ so they had to take him away. No refund for the photo we didn’t get and when we were finished and picked up the group photo, the quality was terrible. One child was sticking out their tongue in one picture and one child was looking away in another. Total waste of money. Again, do not waste your money on the photos

Fantastic experience: I love this place, my 7 month old son is obsessed with watching the fish in the underwater tunnel. They raise money for conservation work and research and rescue of injured and sick wildlife like turtles and sea lions/seals. It's usually fairly quiet on a weekday during school times, it gets pretty packed on a weekend or holiday times but even with a crowd it's still lots of fun, I like to walk through slowly and take our time looking at and watching all the different types of fish, sharks, rays and all the other ocean creatures swimming around.

Positive experience: Great place to go to see a large variety of sea life from seals to octopus to sea horses. Very extensive tunnel with a variety of sharks, stingrays, other small fish, etc. The seal show is a great watch. I would definitely recommend coming to sea life if you are looking for relatively well priced entertainment for an hour or two.

Fantastic experience: What a neat place! My 10yr old Marine obsessed kid loved every bit of this place. We did the 'behind the scenes tour' which was the info overload my daughter wanted. Fantastic experience: Smaller than Melbourne but out ranks for experience. The seal & penguin display was fabulous. The water tank tunnels are amazing. Much more close up & personal with watching all the rays sharks turtles etc.

Fantastic experience: recently had the incredible opportunity to take the "Behind the Scenes Turtle Tour" at SEA LIFE, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! If you're looking for something truly special beyond the main exhibits, this tour is an absolute must-do. From the moment we started, our guide (who was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate!) made the whole experience fascinating. We were given exclusive access to areas the public never sees, which really brought to life the immense effort and dedication that goes into caring for these magnificent creatures. Seeing the turtles behind-the-scenes area you saw food preparation area and quarantine tanks was eye-opening and gave me a newfound appreciation for the complex operations of the aquarium. The absolute highlight for me was, of course, the chance to get up close and personal with the sea turtles. The resident green sea turtle' was a truly magical moment I won't soon forget! It was amazing to learn about their individual personalities and the specific care they receive. Our guide shared so many interesting facts about their diets, health, and the critical role they play in ocean ecosystems. Beyond the close encounters, the tour was incredibly informative about SEA LIFE's vital conservation efforts. Learning about their "Breed, Rescue, Protect" initiatives and how they rehabilitate injured turtles gave me a much deeper understanding of the challenges facing these animals and how we can all contribute to their protection. The small group size made the experience feel very personal, and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions, which our guide answered with genuine enthusiasm. It truly enhanced my overall visit to SEA LIFE. Negative experience: One word: underwhelming. Very basic with barely enough space to manoeuvre around other visitors. Not much to look at and really quite boring. We were done in 15 minutes tops.

Positive experience: We really enjoyed our visit. Animals are well cared for and the staff were lovely. I would however like to see them manage the issue of baby strollers. There were SO many strollers inside and which impacted how close we could get to exhibits as we were often and I mean often blocked by strollers.

Negative experience: We went to Sea Life for a family outing, for a birthday. It was very pricey for what it was, as you have to pay for a lot of activities, my grandson was so excited to see the fairy penguins that he went under a rope where a photographer was, she screamed at me to get him out of there, at the time I was actually bending over to pick him up but having her having her scream at me was very upsetting.

Fantastic experience: We took our 1 year old for his birthday and he had a great time! This is a family-friendly place that's good for younger children and families that don't want to pay an arm and a leg for the Gold Coast experience with rides included when they won't even use them. Plenty of parking and definitely book your tickets online before you go 101%!

Positive experience: It was good, but need more varieties of fishes or sea animals, for a toddlers it probably very entertaining but for teenagers and adults, one round is all done. Also the lady who guarding the starfish in the room near the entrance, she need to bit chilled. Overall its ok.

Negative experience: Absolutely not worth $100 for 2 people!!!!! We were in there for 30 minutes but only due to them cramming people in there, otherwise you could see the whole thing in 15 minutes. Honestly a safety hazard, there underwater tunnel was the full of people you could barely move and people were complaining out loud saying it was claustrophobic and too hot.

Positive experience: This is where you go on the Sunny Coast to get your fix of all things marine -they have everything from sharks to frogs, seahorses, octopi, penguins, turtles, seals, groper fish and all between. The tunnels under the ocean are nice, and there is a massive set of shark jaws in that area -sadly, it didn’t say what species they were from. My favourite part was the jellyfish at the end, I always like them. A print of the photo they take of you as you enter was very expensive, as was the ride in the amphibious vehicle that picks up passengers out front, so we skipped those. The day we went (my birthday) it was closing at 4PM, so maybe try to get here not later than 2PM. Decent day out.

Negative experience: I visited with my grandson on Thursday 17th April for some special time out together and encountered a rude man at the touch pool. My grandson is 2 therefore a paid ticket of $33. He had barely touched the pool when he was told not to chase the fish. When I asked the same man if he could touch a starfish his response was “why? Can’t you reach?” When just seconds before he was enthusiastically holding the starfish for some young girls to touch. If you are over your job get out of there.

Fantastic experience: Sensational marine life to see and fall in love with. Great educational opportunities. No phone service so download their map before going in at the check in, or take the paper copy. Easy to navigate the venue with arrows. Pram parking at the end in the cafe after the gift shop. Awesome merch Cafe food is not appealing or healthy though the great staff made up for it.

Negative experience: Sadly Underwater World in QLD is a real ripoff. Definitely not worth the entry fee. I have gone to a few Underwater World around the world and the one olin QalD pales in comparison. Firstly, it is very small so not much to see. The freshwater displays are poorly scaped and small and not much fish variety to see. The sea lion show was good but the enclosures they were housed in were pathetically small and so I feel sorry that they have to live in such an environment. If it weren't for the sea lion show, you could probably see everything in 30 minutes. Even if the tickets were half the price, I eould not consider worth the time to drive all that way to see what was on display.

Fantastic experience: Such a fun experience! The exhibits are well-maintained and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Loved getting up close with the sea creatures—especially the sharks and rays! Great place for families or anyone interested in marine life.
Fantastic experience: We had the most phenomenal time at Sea Life!!! Our daughters 6 and 3 just loved all the exhibits and the staff were just lovely. Upon finding out it was our daughters birthday yesterday one of the staff sat down and let her ask him lots of seal related questions and even performed a little magic Her day was thoroughly made, thank you Sea Life!!!
Positive experience: It’s very good but disappointed that we were refused entry to the sea lion show (was going to be the highlight of the trip) we pre booked so we could get in in good time, but still had to queue. Turtles? Only saw one through a porthole where we weren’t supposed to be. It was very crowded being a public holiday, with the prices charged we expected it to be a more leasurable experience but it was packed to the max. Could not find any octopus but asked and told they had none.

Regarding the turtles, I understand it must have been frustrating to anticipate seeing more. We do have a large hawksbill resident in the Ocean Tunnel, but he sometimes likes to swim out of view or behind the statues. We also have recovering turtles in quieter our back of house area. They can be seen by the small groups that book a Behind the Scenes tour. And we also have a pig-nose turtle swimming around near our Penguin area. Positive experience: Lovely visit. Would be better if crowds were more directed to avoid having to run into people milling in all sorts of directions and to avoid having to back track. Loved the underwater tunnel. The 'hands-on' was great even for a toddler. Good time overall
Positive experience: Great spot for families. They have a seal show too. the seals are super cute and smart! The only downside is that the aquarium’s pretty small, so I didn’t feel totally satisfied. Should go early a little bit, extremely difficult to find a parking spot :((

Negative experience: Had a great behind the scenes tour for my marine loving daughters 8th birthday,the tour guide was excellent. The highlight was to be the jellyfish which we finally found at the end, after waiting to purchase in the gift shop, we rushed thru the jellyfish tunnel and we're perplexed to see nothing. We tried to see in dark windows and tubes, my daughter clutching the expensive jellyfish souvenirs she chose, and finally asked a staff member what was happening, she said "we're closed" it was 4:02pm and she turned the lights off so we couldn't see them as we walked through. This was one of the meanest things I've experienced, my daughter is devastated. We were politely waiting behind the group in front of us and it cost us seeing the main event. That they can't let you walk out first is a disgrace. Really disappointing after a long drive to get here.

Negative experience: Turns out to be quite expensive when paying for a family of four. You can walk through the entire centre in less than an hour and for the price you’d expect a little more to be there. We drove a four hour round trip to come and only ended up shaking 45 minutes

Fantastic experience: Great place to visit. It is bigger and has more sea animals than I expected. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff and a high standard in animal care. Takes about 3 hours to view and with the shows it’s awesome. Great gift shop and all ages will like it

Fantastic experience: Groovy little collection of water lovers here, really well run and super friendly team who were very helpful to our fam. The tunnel was one of the best, and my children were in awe seeing 5 or so sharks in a row, each one bigger than the last. Treasured memories! The seal show was adorable and a definite highlight, Moana was our fav FELL IN LOVE with the jelly collection, a beautiful tranquil space and great presentation, we were all in awe Also hello, chicken-salt chips from the cafe! Happy times :)

Fantastic experience: We absolutely loved every second of it. I took my 18 month old and he was mesmerized. My seal swim was canceled, but they let me know in time, and we still decided to go. This is an awesome place for children and adults. My favorite was the seal show, and my son's favorite was the penguin presentation.

Fantastic experience: What a Great Day, So Much to See Take the Time & Experience Aquatic Life Absolutely Breathtaking
Negative experience: The aquarium is ok for kids. As adults we were really disappointed mainly due to the high ticket cost, we felt it wasn’t value for money. $162 for 4 of us to walk around for just under an hour & a 15 minute seal show. There wasn’t as many big tanks as we thought there would have been based on the way the advertising looks. I thought we missed part of the aquarium, which we didn’t.
