Fantastic experience: I highly recommend this store for fish. One of the only fish stores in Montreal where the fish don’t die after a week. The people who work there are nice and helpful. No bs is told there.

Negative experience: The scammers are terrible! All the goods on the check are listed as final sale so that the buyer cannot return anything. They gave me incorrect advice about the purchased animal and misled me into buying it, and they either kept quiet about the many nuances of its maintenance or provided incorrect information. I definitely do not recommend this establishment to anyone!

Fantastic experience: I've been a client for so many years now and this is an amazing pet shop. I've been going there with my father who is a fanatic of fish and they never disappoint.The owners are extremely friendly. Thank you for your service ❤️

The process was smooth, and the team was friendly, responsive, and genuinely cared about making things right. The wheel is working perfectly now, and I couldn’t be happier. Fantastic experience: This place is wonderful they take care of there animals I have seen the feed back on there Google it not true the place is small but I think the rent here in not cheap

Negative experience: The place is cramped, smelly and unpleasant as are the men working there. I bought a goldfish and asked about guarantee. I was told one day only but I must bring the dead fish in with a sample of the water it was in and only if it passed the tests would I get a replacement. Sure enough the fish was dead the next day but I was suspicious and brought in the water from the tank it had come home in. Surprise! They found all kinds of things wrong with their own water and told me everything was wrong with my tank. I have had aquariums for over sixty years and this never happened before. Do not do business with these crooks!

Fantastic experience: I always come to Passion d'animaux, as the quality of service and variety of products never stop impressing me. The staff there are so friendly and really knowledgeable about the information on pets. It helped me out with exactly what I need for my rabbits and of course for any other pets that may take interest in you. They did not hurry through the answers to my questions but also shared some great tips related to the care, grooming, and nutrition of the pets. From great food quality to toys, accessories grooming services provided it has everything in store. I was really impressed that they actually have all names of specific products you liked, such as "organic treats" or "eco-friendly toys" really proofs that they do care about offering the best for our pets. we'll be regular customers here. If you want everything under one roof, I highly recommend Passion d'animaux for all your needs concerning your pet!

Negative experience: I got so angry seeing the condition of the store, cages and aquariums with filth, also you felt suffocated right when you entered (bad smell). I went there last week and saw paired cockatiels in small cages (LOTS of feathers on bottom of cage, could be a sign of stress/neglect), saw a big fish floating in a depressive state in an aquarium separated by a board from other fish (the space he had was about the length of my hand). I was crying on the way back home. Will be calling the SPCA to hopefully start an investigation ASAP, this is absolutely unacceptable and inhumane. How dare this/these owners run a shop called “Passion d’animaux”. Read the lower ratings, the owner even has the NERVE to answer and blame the clients. A store run by such HYPOCRITES claiming to take care of animals “SUPER WELL”. These animals are ALL suffering in silence. 4.1/5 stars is a huge lie - SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME ON THEM Update: The MAPAQ has also been informed to investigate.

Negative experience: No, just no! Too many birds and fishes in small cages and tanks. Cold customer service. Not a good experience. Asking for information felt like I was bothering the staff who was more interested in advertising his real diamond rings. The respond to this review proves my point. Aucune remise en question.

Fantastic experience: Great service for many years, with unbeatable prices They care for the animals very well. I regularly bring my rabbits here to get their nails trimmed and they do it so effortlessly, they do it quite well and tending with great care for my buns.

Negative experience: If you are reading the reviews you will be smart to go to another pet store. One that will respect its customers. Thus one will treat you with angry disrespect.

Negative experience: I am very unhappy and disappointed with this store. I have been a customer for almost 4 years. I bought my fish tank there and over the year filters and lots of fish. April 24 purchased 9 fish 6 of one kind 3 of another. The next morning 1 of the 6 was dead the day after 2 more till none were alive by April 28th. On the 29th I went to the store to tell them what had happened and was greeted with you don't clean your tank right you don't know what you are doing. I clean my tank the right way and change the water like I was told and learned. I have had no problems with my fish till this time. The guy was very angry with me and I said I spend a lot of money here, he said he didn't care and he said he didn't need me as a customer anymore. Going forward I am putting out information on not going to this store I am telling everyone about the poor treatment I received. I am looking for ways to campaign about this store.

Negative experience: Was a great client there for years, but unfortunately they sold me a expensive sick fish who died within a week of purchase, and they refused to give me another fish blaming my water quality, I offered to test it since he was blaming that on the death (we have about 10 other very healthy fish) and also the fish was not eating much, I knew something was wrong within the first day but they said that all sales are final and there is no warranty to go shop somewhere else than… I guess they lost a faithful customer.

Negative experience: They know nothing beside fishes. They put different rodents in the same cage and can't answer any questions, the only answer is ' I don't know'... I wonder where the animals come from at that point. They have a baby guinea pig with a rabbit in the same... that type of pet store should be closed

Negative experience: Well, it makes me uncomfortable to go to the store. Every time I go to buy something for my pet, the owner or the employee, I don't know what it is, follows me or watches me. The funny thing is that he doesn't even bother to hide that he's bothering me. I am a regular customer of this place, but lately this behavior has made me very uncomfortable, especially when you are only going to buy the usual things.

Fantastic experience: Hi, My honest review: Shop is nice and located at a convenient place. Staff is chill and knows their pets. Pets are all fed and maintained each day. Seen the staff stay even after hours to clean up which is amazing. I rate the place a nice 5/5 as the prices are good for the merchandise and have a nice variety of pets that they offer. Would recommend this place to friends and other people.

Fantastic experience: I went to buy a Beta fish and the service was exceptional. The owner recommended the care and food needed for the fish and it was very helpful. Also, lots of bird varieties and other pets available at a good price. The shop is clean and organized, amazing customer service!

Negative experience: i don’t like this store. the holding cages are too small and some times there’s too many birds in one cage. the conditions are not sanitary, breeding is excessive. the owner lets people off without paying taxes and does not equip them with the proper things they need when buying an animal.. they let someone leave with an animal with no cage or food, didn’t ask for a proof of a cage. they told the owner they were gonna put the animal with a different species and the owner agreed. i work a pet store and i know how these things work and this store does not work properly. i’m sorry if this offends the owner but i don’t find it right the way they are doing things no matter what license or degree they have.

Fantastic experience: Impeccable customer service. David, (the owner) is such an easy going guy and overall a nice guy.The store is eqipped with multiple variety of different fish species, a vast selection of aquarium plants and birds. The father of the owner never ceases to make me laugh. If you prefer efficient service, a good laugh, reputable pet seller and positive vibes, I highly recommend this pet shop.

Negative experience: I went there last week and the one thing that I remembered clearly, it was that were too many birds in such small cages. The store is too small to house this many variety of pets (small/big birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, fishes). In all honesty, the customer service was alright, although the men were looking at me the home time like this , BUT they should relocate some of their birds because the ventilation in the store will not be enough for all the animal excrements to be filtered out by the air filter. I love animals, If the owner did too he or she would do what is best for them and not only care for the money. / **This part is for the owner: I wasn't trying to speak negatively about the store, but trying to describe what I saw during my recent visit and what I found very shocking that I had to write a review. There's one thing you need to know about owning birds is that they need space. You cannot justify it by saying you take care of them if what they need is space and that you are not giving to them. You have to find some places for these other birds to live, they cannot be keeped in such small places. I saw it with my own eyes the size of those cages and it is not what you are describing. As for the baby lovebirds, I already know that they have to stay with their parents until a certain point, but that wasn't my main concern, I was mostly describing the space the larger birds had, in almost every cage there weren't enough sticks or space for them to properly move around and the bottom covered in feces (that were at least 5 days old, you can already imagine the amount for 3 birds). I say all of this honestly and I am not saying this out of hatred or anger, but for the sake of these birds lives .

Positive experience: They have some good products for pets and the staff will always be smiling, the only thing is that the place is very small for so many animals, it makes you wonder if it’s fair to keep them there, the smell is very strong and the environment does not feel very fresh.

Negative experience: I am not happy but need to changing my review (after 4 years) for the behaviour of one male sales person. He is the aged person and has rudeness in his behaviour. He shows no respecet to me and my family. I am not new in this shop. Although not regular, i buy things often and ignore this sales person"s unprofessional behavior. But today his atitude was so insulting. I am complaining at the cash and this person came back and started shouting again. The lady (Nice behavior) also admit this person has lot of complains. The young person in the cash a very gentle (not there today). The old person has "Disgusting behavior". My 10 year old daughter used to love this shop but now she told me she will not go in this shop ever. I am also not going as long as he is there. I will not recommend any one as long this sales person is here. My suggestions to the shop owner to see the recording/ surveillance camera before you lose more customer (if you care).

Negative experience: I asked for 3 female hamsters and was sold 2 males and 1 female. They are injuring each other and now I have the burden of rehoming. Dishonest and irresponsible. They put profit over wellbeing, avoid it.

Fantastic experience: The place has a lot to offer, the staff is very friendly and there’s a special talking parrot which I think you should meet he will make your day also they offer a huge variety of fish and supplies for every animal definitely going back(P.S I got a rabbit and fish from there)

Negative experience: The comments that say that the animals are being mistreated are correct. The birds especially are in tiny cages. Three conures in one tiny cage not even big enough for one… Everytime I go by this place I feel so sad for these poor birds. They will say maybe “the inspectors say it’s fine” but that doesn’t mean that it is actually fine for the animals. Those birds are probably depressed as they don’t have the right food, enough space or even enough toys. I understand a bird could maybe be ok in this place for a few days but I’ve seen a bird stay there for more than a month. This place should be closed down.

Fantastic experience: This is a "mom and pop" store, but it is run by father and son! They are with the long experience and smart service. They will stock fish and animals instead of doing the quick turnover like many box stores. Attention is paid to quality. They have a big selection and high level of inventory, so much so that it can be hard to move around!

Negative experience: Rude Chinese guy! Now let’s talk about the store and the conditions of the birds. The store is very small and over crowded. There is a very strong bad odor as you walk in which is not good for us let alone for these birds who are stuck in this store. The birds are kept in extremely small cages not fit for a finch let alone 2 conures. I didn’t see what other animals he has since he was so rude I just walked out. Please take care of these poor animals.

Fantastic experience: Hey it was small and hot but my bunny looked and felt heathy great customer service even got a free bag of bunny food after what I bought have to say great owners great animals and honestly I would go there again and again I think the good reviews over do the bad ones

Fantastic experience: I think this can be the best pet shop I know in Montreal. They are taking very good care of animals with affection. Also they explained to us very well how to prepare birds foods for beginners even though we didn't buy the bird from there. As its name sake, I feel their passion towards animals.

Negative experience: Positive: Healthy and beautiful budgies. Negative: While taking some pictures, a man in the store came very close and made me feel like i was going to steal something. I asked about bird cage price, I saw one that I liked, the man said that it costs $130. I saw it on Amazon for $88. However, prices are not my concern, it's his store, his prices. I wanted a budgie from that store but the attitude and how unfriendly the man was made me change my mind. The guy on the cash register was amazing and friendly, but the older man in the store was unfriendly with me. I tried to think if something that I did wrong, but all I did was that i spoke on the phone and took some pics to decide what budgie do I want with my family.

Negative experience: Absolutely appalling. Far too many birds are crammed into tiny, bare cages. Most have no toys and only dowel perches, which are bad for their feet. As far as I can tell, the budgies are kept on a seed-only diet, which is terrible for their health. And many of the bird supplies (toys, food, cages) for sale were outright bad for birds. The owners clearly don't know or care about birds and should be ashamed of themselves.

Negative experience: TERRIBLE! The hamster cages are way too small please put them in bigger cages like tanks , please research I know you guys have good hamsters but please research how should a hamster cage should be please !

Positive experience: Came in to get puppy food, as I work close to the area. Unfortunately, they only had one type (one company). But the responding staff, a gentleman, was very kind and helpful. I wish they had 1 or 2 more varieties as to dog/puppy food.

Negative experience: They sold me sick fishes. They were sick since the day I bought them. I saw it. One with red spots et one with rotten fins at a severe state. All my other fishes are fine!I I even have babys. I sent pictures. They didn't want to do anything for me when I complained. Very dishonest!!! Look at the fish in the tank. They are sick!!!

Fantastic experience: The store seems a bit unorganized, and the staff a little pushy at times. Regardless, I love their enthusiasm when it comes to fish and their generous prices and wide selection of tropical fish. I’d rather come here than nature or safari any day.

Negative experience: There isn't that great of a variety of choices in the store. Most of the animals and aquariums are in a pitiful state, crammed in small spaces with little provided for them in their enclosure. You can get the basics and in the area there isn't much competition - so it's the place to go on the other hand.

Fantastic experience: Many petstore owners came and went in the same exact location but this new petstore owner has been the best out of the lot. I haven't ever walked in and saw a dead fish floating around in his store. Price charged for the products/live stocks are great. Sometimes even lower than what walmart charged. Very friendly aswell. Fantastic experience: Best pets shop. They have quality gold fishes. Mines are already 1+ years and are very healthy. Prices amazing. And they have always an advice if you need. Really recommend. And you could find there all kind off aquarium fish food.

Fantastic experience: I work in the plaza.Every time I have a break, instead of going to the food court eat something or just relax, I come and spend all my break in the pet shop. Best pet shop in all the city of Montreal. Very cheap prices(their prices are half of anywhere else). The staff is very friendly, nice and also helpful. It is a family run business. They know their stuff very well, you can ask them what ever you want and they can answer it.

Negative experience: Worst pet store, the rat cages smell like they haven't been cleaned in weeks, the rats are fed bags of dried food ( seeds and fruits, corn,etc ) when they have plenty of bags of oxbow. Most of the rats have health ploblems, etc. DONT GO THERE!

Fantastic experience: It's pet stores like these you want to go to, not the big chain ones. Places like these are run by owners who actually care about their animals. This is the store I go to when it comes to all supplies for my rodents. Not to mention the pricing is amazing. Very good job, guys.
