Fantastic experience: I have always enjoyed shopping here. They have a good website that allows you to order online for instore pickup, or you can walk into the store and place order on the spot. Very competitive pricing for livestock and some of the best prices for dry goods in GTA. Staff are always helpful and friendly, not to mention a beautiful showroom with various livestock and corals.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic Reef Aquarium store. Excellent selection of dry goods, great fish food variety (dry and frozen) and other supplies. Plenty in stock for viewing and purchase. Extensive variety of Livestock including fish, CUC and corals (including hard to find rare high end stock). Fair and competitive prices. Very clean and well maintained store. Negative experience: I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel obligated to warn others. I received a tank that was flawed and not in a small way. I reached out to the Seller right away and was ignored (for over 10 days). After starting a PayPal claim due to the lack of response from her, they told me they’d send me a return shipping label. That never happened, despite multiple messages and follow-ups. And now there is just silence. To ​top it off, PayPal denied my claim because I haven’t returned the item​ but​ I can't return it without the label the Seller promised to send​. The quote for me to ship was anywhere from $200-$1000. It feels like a deliberate runaround designed to make me give up. What really bothers me is how little accountability the Seller has taken. No ownership, no apology, no resolution​, just avoidance. And now I'm out both the money and a functioning product. After this whole mess, I went back and read the other one​ star reviews. I wish I had done that sooner. There's a clear pattern here​, other buyers have had nearly identical experiences. This isn’t a one​ off​, it’s a repeat problem.​ Save yourself the time, money​ and frustration. I wouldn’t buy from this Seller again under ​ANY circumstances.

Fantastic experience: Hussain went above for me to custom make an attachment for my skimmer pump, he spend over 2 hours trying to accommodate what I needed as the skimmer pump I need is now discontinued , I don’t think anywhere else would have took the time , they would have tried to sell me a new skimmer. Negative experience: Placed an order for some reason SHOP changed my delivery address to my old address I lived at 5 years ago. Noticed as soon as the order confirmation came through, I contacted them right away and Hussain Baig got back to me quickly said he would change the address for me. It was picked up by ups 2 days later and delivered to my old address in a different province. I have emailed 4 times with no response from them.

Negative experience: **Please Read Before Buying Fish Online** I'm not usually the type to leave bad reviews or hate on a store, but here’s my story: On February 14th, I went into the store to buy a Royal Gramma. When I asked for one, the staff went into the back to check if they had one. Instead of showing it to me, they bagged it up and handed it over in a translucent bag. I checked, and it looked fine, swimming near the bottom. I took it home and drip-acclimated it into a separate tank with plenty of hiding spots. Three weeks later, I noticed it only swam along the sand bed and never came up. I got tired of having to spot-feed it, so I reached out to Aquarium Depot. They told me they had the fish for 6 months and that it was healthy, implying that I must be new to the hobby and did something wrong. But they clearly acknowledged that this fish had been in their care for “6 months,” so they knew exactly which one I was talking about. Two weeks after that, I visited the store again to buy something and brought up my concern to one of the employees. I said I suspected the fish had an internal parasite that wasn't immediately visible. He told me that was impossible because they treat all their fish for a couple of weeks before selling them. About a week ago, I finally decided to try Metroplex and Focus. I used the medication for two days, and to my surprise, the fish started swimming normally again. Keep in mind, the fish had its own tank because I always quarantine new additions to ensure the safety of my other fish. I did everything right and spent more than expected to deal with a problem I didn’t cause. I’m not sure how they’ll respond to this, but I doubt they’ll take any accountability. This situation could have been avoided if they had simply taken me to the back — which is literally five steps from the counter — and let me see the fish first. I noticed after the fact that they do take some customers to the back. I trusted them. It was my first time buying a Royal Gramma, and when I saw it sitting at the bottom of the bag, I didn’t think much of it because I had heard they’re naturally shy and stress easily. I really hate making bad reviews, but every time I look at the Gramma, I’m reminded of how it was struggling day after day. It honestly makes me feel worse knowing it had to go through that. Even though the problem has been solved on my end, I did try to contact them again — and it’s been a week with no response. It’s just sad to think they had this fish in that condition for so long, and still sold it for $100, leaving someone else to deal with the consequences. Spent over $80 on the medications. And if they decide to reply to this, then I guess it’s still somehow my fault... But just wanted to voice my experience. Update: Finally got a reply. Pretty pathetic how sweet and nice their replies are on this when compared to messaging them one-on-one

I plan to share this experience with fellow store owners to caution them about customers who behave as you have. Your assertion on Google that we ignored your emails is misleading, and I will make our full correspondence public to set the record straight and expose the inaccuracies in your claims. I even took the time to address your concerns in person at the store. Your dissatisfaction appears to stem from our refusal to accept the fish’s return—a decision aligned with our clearly stated policies, which you should have reviewed prior to your purchase.

Your decision to isolate a single response from me and attach it to your review, while omitting the full context of our exchanges, is highly misleading. This message was sent to you after you posted a 1-star review, as we have chosen not to continue dealing with a customer like yourself. Spreading false accusations online in an attempt to assert influence and tarnish our reputation carries serious consequences.

Fantastic experience: I purchased an aquarium sensor that was difficult to source elsewhere. The transaction was smooth and the local delivery was a nice bonus. I did have a minor glitch with the delivery email arriving prematurely, but this was quickly resolved by the owner by email. The product pricing is fixed by the manufacturer, so I can't comment on pricing, but AD provided excellent service.

Negative experience: I ordered a Nero Guard, but it arrived broken. I've tried contacting customer service multiple times, but I haven't received any response. I then placed another order on February 24th, and as of today, March 20th, I still haven't received it. The order status still says "preparing shipment," even though I've already paid for it. Very disappointed with the lack of communication and service.

Regarding your first order, each item is thoroughly inspected and packed properly before shipment to ensure it leaves our facility in perfect condition. Fantastic experience: Ordered 4 Pitho Crabs to help with a bubble algae outbreak. All 4 arrived alive and healthy. Most of the bubble algae has been cleaned within one week without using chemicals. I ordered during a cold week and they waited till it got warmer to ensure they shipped alive.

Fantastic experience: Very nice media basket fits well in the WB 50.3. The only thing wrong with this is they need to make a left and right. On the left side it hangs on the baffles and the back part of the basket is facing the display tank. The right side, the open side of the media basket faces the display. The whole idea of the black edition is not show the inside of the media basket. You can probably hang it on the right side of the glass but, you have to really pry it open to take the thicker glass.

Fantastic experience: Husein and his team at Aquarium Depot are next to the Best in the market. They make things easily achievable at reasonable price for you. What makes them stand out is the extra mile they go to provide their services. I had an incident where I needed an important plumbing part in a Sunday evening which I broke on my Reese’s reefer while doing maintenance. Red Sea plumbing parts are metric so hard to find locally in Home Depot it Lowe’s. I reached out to Husein who was kind enough to take the exact part from one of his floor model and give it to me. That I believe saved my tank because without the emergency drainpipe I would not have been able to start my system which could have than crashed my tank. He did not even ask me money for that. This is why I will always support him. A customer service like this only few can provide. Good luck my friend we are lucky to have Husein and Aquarium Depot around.

Fantastic experience: Let me get right to the punchline: The service and dedication to the hobby exhibited by the staff and owner of Aquarium Depot is unparalleled. I will add, that I was a Distributor and Manufacturer Sales Representative in The Aquatic Industry for a number of years, calling on numerous retail stores and Distributors throughout Canada and Western New York, as well as being a life-long hobbyist. My Vectra M1 crapped out and I got to Aquarium Depot at 6:30 PM last night. I was advised by Hussain Baig to go with a Sicce Syncra SDC 9.0 but lets say my plumbing knowledge is somewhere around zero. Hussain Baig was extremely busy but he got to my condo at 8:30 PM that night with supplies and tools and set up my new pump. There is no way that I could have accomplished this on my own and he would not accept any payment for his service, time and expertise. And the pump? Incredible! I am running it at 55% and that may be too high, while my M1 was running at 100%. Thank you Hussain Baig.

Fantastic experience: Great selection of goods and livestock and really loved this store. Will still likely make purchases in the future but have to say that my most recent experience with an issue has left me disappointed. I've had issues with equipment purchases in the past and they have always done a great job in addressing my concerns and going above and beyond with replacement. However on a most recent issue with a heater where a new element needed to be ordered through warranty (I even provided direct communication with manufacturer to AD), after initial response never heard back after a month and 3 additional attempts to contact. Ended up having to go through manufacturer directly and pay for shipping and duties myself. *** Revised Review *** After posting this I was contacted and am very pleased with the outcome of the response received. Increasing my rating to 5 stars and chalking this one up to bad timing and an outlier experience. Highly recommend Aquarium Depot for your needs!

Negative experience: I've had some really good experience with online dry good orders with AD. Like another reviewer said, the diversity of offered products is great. As well, prices are generally the best or at least very competitive, and they have good/regular sales and deals. Unfortunately, like in the review I just read, I have to agree that the customer support is lacking and I often feel "ghosted." Again, in that aforementioned review, I also had received a defective T5HO ATI bulb and have not yet received a response on how to deal with this from AD. At least from reading that same review, and the response from the owner, I saw from that what I was required to do. I purchased an Innovative Marine EXT 100 Complete Reef System, plus rocks, sand, a skimmer, and numerous other parts, equipment and supplies. Everything arrived packaged carefully on a pallet and I was very impressed! It was definitely nerve-wracking up to the moment it was delivered. AD was certainly more helpful around the time I was inquiring about this system and ultimately ording it, around Black Friday last year. Since then, getting a response has been unfortunately hit-or-miss. Sadly, a few small parts on the tank stand came broken and Innovative Marine instructed me to direct my warranty inquiry/claim with the supplier (Aquarium Depot). I reached out to AD and they offered to help, but after four more emails from me looking for updates on this issue (and asking about that defective bulb) since April 18th, I'm left feeling like I have to deal with it on my own. Even more concerning is if (hopefully not) I have a significant or critical issue with my aquarium, and I REALLY need supplier support for my warranty, and it just won't be there. I hate to write less-than-glowing reviews, and I write this with a fair bit of conflict as I have had good experience and that's not forgotten. I have a feeling they are extremely busy, and I know emails can get lost and buried. It would just be nice to get somewhat of a timely response, if any at all. Like the other reviewer said, I've not had this experience with other Canadian saltwater retailers. The support elsewhere is not only there, but always above and beyond, and always within the same day. It really makes a big difference when deciding where to shop.

Negative experience: Ordered something that was on backorder, I emailed asking when it would possibly ship out. I received and email within a few minutes, the product doesn't fit in my setup and so I emailed to possibly return it and have just been ghosted ever since. Fantastic experience: Started my saltwater journey with Hussain and his team at Aquarium Depot and I can tell he treats all his customers equally with fairness and respect! He ensured all the equipment is what I need and did not try to upsell me on anything. He went out of his way to get me a product that seem to have an error with no questions asked. Which is why I refer to all my family and friends to go to him and not the stores close to him which all they are interested is your money. Also, James whom works at the store took his time to educate me with starting a saltwater aquarium. Kudos to him !

Fantastic experience: I've purchased all my chemicals and substaintial amount of my hardware from here, and they are fantastic. Same-day delivery in the GTA is great, and if you go into the store they know their stuff and can offer good advice. Hands-down, best place for aquarium dry goods in the GTA.

Fantastic experience: I made my first order with Aquarium Depot for a Neptune A3 System, and when I placed the order, it was on back order. I was starting to get a bit nervous as it was my first order with them, and I wasn’t familiar with their store, but Hussein and the team were able to quickly get my Neptune shipped and I can’t be happier! I’m constantly buying new gear for this hobby and will 100% be coming back to them for more! Thanks so much Aquarium depot!

Fantastic experience: My go to for all my dry goods, owner helped me out big time when I was setting up my tank. Haven’t been to their new location but seems like they have alot of nice livestock available.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been buying supplies from Hussein when he was selling out of his garage. I went to his recent grand opening, bought something and entered the raffle and ended up wining a AIO tank. I honestly wasn’t expecting it and if this doesn’t prove he’s legit honest I don’t know what is.

Fantastic experience: There was a mistake with one of my shipping, i have to say that it was the first time, so i took pictures and send them (i always take pictures when i unboxes my stuff so its easyer when there is a problem) and they gave me a new product with a compensation and it was resolve fast. Good service as always
