Positive experience: This aquarium is a great place for children of all ages. There is a lot to see and do from the jellies and jellyfish to the frogs to the sea lions. Make sure to watch the 4D movie that's included with your admission; it is informative, fun and entertaining. Food is good and pricey.

Fantastic experience: This is a great aquarium, with a variety of interesting exhibits. We had fun trying to find the Giant Pacific Octopus, enjoyed seeing the sea otters up close(we watched from the bottom floor of the exhibit) and loved seeing the two-toed sloth have lunch(around 3:30 daily)! This aquarium is impressive for its size. It was busy, but we enjoyed it anyway. We thought it was well worth the cost and recommended you don’t miss it!

Fantastic experience: Vancouver aquarium is an incredible place to explore lot of aquatic & amphibians. The whole place is mesmerizing. Loved the jellyfishesits magical. Otters & sea lions are fun to watch. We missed the green anaconda as he was hiding in the hole, was only able to get tiny sneak peek. Great experience with family or family. Worth the price!!

Positive experience: Loved the jellyfish exhibit, so dreamy! The otters were adorable, stealing the show. It’s a bit pricey, but great for a chill day out with cute marine vibes.

Positive experience: Hit up the Vancouver Aquarium with the family, and it was a blast. The kids were glued to the tanks, especially the jellyfish and the otters, those little guys stole the show. The touch pools were a big hit, letting the kids get up close with starfish and stuff. It’s a relaxed setup, with plenty to see and learn without feeling rushed. Kept everyone entertained and curious, so yeah, worth the trip.

Positive experience: The Aquarium, now that’s a marvel. Fish from all corners of the globe, swimming about in tanks so clear you’d swear you’re underwater yourself. The jellyfish display was downright mesmerizing, and those cheeky otters had us all chuckling. Only gripe is the gift shop prices, bit steep for a pensioner’s wallet! All in all, a grand day out for young and old alike. Highly recommend both if you’re in town.

Positive experience: Stepping into the Vancouver Aquarium is like diving into another world! It's super engaging, with playful sea otters and majestic sea lions stealing the show. You could easily spend hours wandering through all the cool exhibits, from local BC marine life to the vibrant Amazon gallery. Definitely a must-see for anyone in Vancouver!

Positive experience: The Aquarium is really enjoyable, especially with kids. My family and I spent quite a long time inside to explore and move around. It really is a different feeling seeing the smiles on your loved one's faces. We are for sure coming back here, maybe sometime again around winter time. It was a blast and you will really enjoy it. I would recommend the Vancouver Aquarium to everyone. See something new!

Positive experience: I had such a nice time at the Vancouver Aquarium! There’s a lot to see, and I really appreciated how they’re focused on ocean conservation. The exhibits are pretty interactive and educational, so it’s a great spot for families or anyone who loves sea life. I’d say some of the exhibits could be a bit bigger, but overall, the experience was enjoyable, and the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Plus, the location in Stanley Park is gorgeous.

Fantastic experience: This is my happy place. No matter how many times I come here, it’s never the same experience twice. I love the educational programs and Vanessa in particular is so fun and really engaging. Definitely come for a visit if you haven’t been recently!

Fantastic experience: Came to Vancouver for the weekend and on my first day decided to check out the aquarium. The line was long to get in but went pretty fast, I think the tickets are cheaper in person than online (at least that was the case when I went.) At 2pm they fed the seals and sea lions and that was pretty fun. Absolutely great exhibits and well organized, the animals are very well taken care of

Fantastic experience: Visiting the Vancouver Aquarium was truly a memorable experience! From the moment we entered, everything was well organized, clean, and family-friendly. The exhibits are beautifully designed and educational, with an incredible variety of marine life including sea otters, jellyfish, sea lions, and tropical fish.

Fantastic experience: Had an absolute blast, spent about 5 hours. The staff is great, the food is great, and the exhibits are superb. Lots of fun interactive activities throughout the day. Definitely go there if you’re visiting Vancouver !

Fantastic experience: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Must-Visit Spot in Vancouver! The Vancouver Aquarium is absolutely incredible! It’s not just a place to see marine animals — it’s an immersive, educational experience that’s fun for all ages. The exhibits are beautifully designed and full of fascinating creatures, from playful sea otters and jellyfish to penguins and even sloths! What really impressed me was the aquarium’s focus on conservation and animal rescue. You can tell they genuinely care about the environment and the animals they look after. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to answer questions. Great for families, tourists, or anyone who loves the ocean. Highly recommend spending a few hours here — it’s worth every minute!

Positive experience: It’s a nice place but tickets are a bit pricey at around $50 for an adult. lots of screaming children around in the summer time.

Positive experience: Feb 2025: Last week visited the aquarium, but disappointed both the he wanted to see died . Definitely not busy and not much events or shows in comparion to summer and weekend. We arrived when open 10am on Monday and completed it all within two hours which good for parking fees didn't have to pay too much June 2025: Learning about the wonders of wildlife around the world, from the enchanting tides of local Canadian waters to the vibrant coral reefs of the Tropics. I learned they currently houses around 300 species of fish, almost 30,000 invertebrates, and 56 species of amphibians and reptiles. They also have around 60 mammals and birds. I miss the days when they had The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre is one of the world's largest hospitals dedicated for sick, injured or orphaned marine mammals and proudly internationally recognized for its world-class reward in animal care, educational displays, and interpretation of excellence.

Fantastic experience: Fun, educational, and inspiring! The Vancouver Aquarium is a fantastic place for all ages. The exhibits are well-designed, engaging, and full of incredible marine life—from sea otters and jellyfish to tropical fish and sea lions. What I really appreciate is the focus on conservation and education—every visit feels meaningful. The staff are knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what they do. It’s located in the heart of Stanley Park, making it a perfect stop during a day out. A must-visit if you’re in Vancouver!

Fantastic experience: This attraction features a wide variety of aquatic life, with both indoor exhibits showcasing traditional sea creatures and outdoor areas housing larger marine animals, complete with above and underwater viewing options. The admission price is reasonable considering the extensive exhibits, and the parking provides convenient access to multiple areas around Stanley Park from a central location.

Fantastic experience: Our Sea Otter Encounter with Vanessa was absolutely amazing! From the moment we started, Vanessa made the whole experience educational, fun, and incredibly engaging. Her passion for marine life really shines through, and she made sure everyone felt comfortable and got the most out of the encounter. Getting up close to the sea otters was magical—they are so intelligent, playful, and full of personality. Vanessa shared so many interesting facts and stories that made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend this to anyone visiting—definitely a highlight of our trip!

Positive experience: Very cool but pricey at over $50 per adult. We spent around 2.5 hours, including taking some breaks. We probably could have taken a little longer as well. It was a little busy but not crazy on a Wednesday afternoon. Lots of cool fish and other animals which I wasn't expecting.

Jason Van Camp 3 months ago

Fantastic experience: There's a lot going on here, and there had better be, for what it cost to get in the door! Shelling out $130 CAD for two adults, one 8 year old, and two freebie babies is pretty steep, especially when we arrived at 3:00 PM, not knowing that the whole place closed at 5:00 PM. No discount for dumbass, late-arriving tourists? Price point aside, this really is a fantastic aquarium. I'd been here once before, around 12 years ago, but my memory of the place was fuzzy, at best. I remember there were dolphins back then, but the weather conspired against me, and prevented me from seeing them in any meaningful capacity. They appear to be gone now, replaced with sea otters (one of my wife's favorite creatures), which is an acceptable substitution. Near as I can tell, even with our limited amount of time, I believe we were able to see pretty much every gallery and attraction the place had to offer. Our kids loved it, from the 8-year old, to our toddler, and even our infant, who was fascinated by the ambient lights and strange, floating creatures. Beyond the undersea attractions, there was also an Amazon rainforest exhibit, featuring all manner of creatures, aquatic or otherwise, including monkeys, sloths, colorful birds, frogs, snakes, assorted reptiles and amphibians, and exotic plant life. I wish we'd had more time, to thoroughly flesh out the place, but even with our limited run, I could tell that our boys really enjoyed their time here. Seeing their smiles is very much worth the price of admission, regardless of how steep it may be.

Renee Moisan 3 months ago

Positive experience: Checked this place out while on vacation from Edmonton. It was pretty cool to see things there that we don’t have in Alberta. The admission I found was a bit over priced but still enjoyed seeing the facility regardless of the pricing. I would suggest to pay online, as the pricing varies from $39.95 to $55.20 daily and I wish we knew that before arriving. Very clean and the staff were very pleasant when we asked questions.

Fantastic experience: We love the Aquarium! Vanessa narrated a great show while they were feeding the harbour seals. So educational, and all animals have been rescued. They are reintroduced to the wild if they will thrive.

Positive experience: We always enjoy visiting. They had some new exhibits since last time and we really enjoyed seeing the slow creatures.

Fantastic experience: Been to many aquariums over the years. This is second to only Sheds, and it's a close 2nd. Staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Facility is well laid out and exhibits are set up in a way that makes it easy for young and old alike to be able to see what's going on. Well done. Oh yeah, easy to buy tickets online. I did so in front of the Aquarium in about 2 minutes and was able to skip the line waiting to purchase tickets.

Shok 3 months ago

Positive experience: Great institution. Quality education and conservation work. But from tourist's perspective it is expensive for what it offers. There are better and bigger aquariums around the world that give more for same or less money.

Randall King 3 months ago

Fantastic experience: Very good aquarium, paid parking is kind of a pain and holy hell navigating the park around the aquarium just to get to the aquarium is wild. Never seen anything quite like that mess of speed humps, bikers, low speed limits and hikers on my way to an aquarium before... Tons and tons of fish from all over. Even some snakes, lots of frogs, some turtles, a sloth and some birds too. Great exhibits, had to wait a while to get in.

Tim Cooper 3 months ago

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic aquarium, well laid out and with exceptional, accessible information on the animals and plants exhibited. It's a great way to while away a couple of hours, though naturally some of the content is a bit kid-centric. The staff is knowledgeable and more than happy to talk about the exhibits at whatever level you're most comfortable with.

Fantastic experience: Sure! Here's a polished and positive review based on your input: We had a truly wonderful experience at the Vancouver Aquarium! We visited with three kids, and they absolutely loved it. The exhibits were engaging, educational, and beautifully designed. It was amazing to see how excited and curious the kids were throughout our visit. The variety of marine life and interactive displays kept them entertained the entire time. This is definitely a fantastic place for families and a must-visit in Vancouver!

Fantastic experience: My husband and I had an awesome experience at the aquarium this past weekend! There is SO much to see and do and we were really impressed by how much the location had to offer. We expected mainly sea life but were also blown away by the tropical section that had monkeys, sloths, snakes, bats, and so much more! The daily shows were informative with a focus on education around conservation, and there were lots of great food options for all. We were especially impressed by the on-site coffee shop (they make a mean latte)! All of the staff had big smiles on their face and were eager to answer questions. 10/10 recommend a visit!

Tony Chu 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: Really nice place, second time here in the last 10 years but this time with little one. He had a lot of fun checking out the aquarium. Only thing to note is the ticket price is dynamic subject to days and business of the location. $54/ticket seems a bit excessive but overall a good tour.

Cole Davis 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: Since there were many things to look at, I took so many videos that I didn't have space to upload any photos! As my first time visiting, the Vancouver aquarium was an excellent experience. It won't be my last visit, I can see this as an annual thing. The sea otters and jellyfish were my favorite exhibits. I'd highly recommend 2-3 hours here, depending on how detailed you view each space. Not shown in photos, but they have a bat exhibit where you can hear live feedback. If you're more of a shopping oriented person, the aquarium could end up being a 30 minute visit Overall, I'd come back again. The aquarium shop has many cute plushies.

Julio Villafuerte 4 months ago

Positive experience: Expensive for a day admission - interesting but compared to other aquariums in the world does not stack up too high. The diversity of ocean animals is actually limited, specially missing large animals typical of the pacific ocean (dolphins, whales, manta-ray., sharks. Focused on rescuing sea lions which is fine and i assume funding is limited

Dhinesh R 4 months ago

Negative experience: Over priced for the stuff they have inside. Jelly Fishes are the best, other than that, I don't have much to say about. To my guess, around $25 is optimal price. But its hugely over priced now.

Bradley Michaelian (Brad) 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: Super fun and engaging, lots of animals to visit and see with the staff having the knowledge and enthusiasm to teach all. Many exhibits including Sharks, Otters, Octopus, Frogs, and more!

Fantastic experience: I got to take my wife to Vancouver Aquarium today (mother's day outing). She loved it so much, being that she loves sea creatures. She got to experience different sea creatures in close view. If your girlfriend, wife or partner loves the movie "Finding Nemo"... this would be mind-blowing. We actually got to see the Nemo Fish and other beautiful species. There are a ton of fish species at Vancouver Aquarium plus other sea creatures outside. I highly recommend visiting. Family friendly environment. Booking ahead is advisable because you can get a better price. Paid parking on site. Food/ snacks available. Gift shop available. Have Fun Everyone! Cheers!

Fantastic experience: My son loves coming here. Lots to learn each time. Nice to see animals being genuinely cared for. Plenty of choices for gifts in the souvenir shop. Great option to see in the winter when it’s less busy.

Fantastic experience: Nice tourist attraction in Vancouver, quite large, and don't let the name of the place mislead you, they have more animals than fish, they also have a bat enclosure!

Harry Bradley 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: Thr Vancouver Aquarium is very fun. There are plenty of animals to see (not just fish) and the staff are very knowledgeable about them. It's maybe a bit pricey but you'll enjoy your time there.

Fantastic experience: This male California sea lion weighs… 800 kg! That’s more than the average horse And then there are otters - skwee!! Fabulous place for all ages! If you’re a nature lover, this is the spot for you. Worth checking out the schedule in advance so you can catch the various feedings and training sessions for the aquatic animals. Absolutely love the jellyfish tanks, they are hypnotic! It’s also worth taking a minute to read some of the displays and descriptions, I’ve lived in BC most of my life and I still learned a ton. The staff were all pleasant, plentiful and ready to help. The facilities are clean and there’s also a lot of variety. Don’t miss the rainforest :-)

Positive experience: Fun aquarium, lots of cool things. Parking is kinda expensive and there are lots of children everywhere you look, they like to scream and dance and sing and touch the animals. Would recommend if you’re a kid. Would also recommend if you’re not. Aquariums are lit, bro.

Fantastic experience: For real best aquarium in Canada, the ad doesn’t lie. A lot of animals and takes a few hours to see everything. I came from Toronto aquarium, and this one is 100 times better. Feels more like zoo of water animals, than aquarium. It wasn’t too busy on a Sunday 1pm, so even if you can’t visit on a weekday it should be fine

Fantastic experience: It’s a great experience and worth the money. There are many different types of fish and sea lions to see.

Fantastic experience: Amazing place! Loved the sea otters and interactive exhibits. It’s clean, well-organized, and great for all ages. A perfect spot to spend a few hours exploring and learning about sea life.

Taimaz Bahadory 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: Definitely worth the visit. There are also events like seal feeding and sea lions training if you know the times. It is more than an aquarium, as there are some other animals and birds to visit too. Parking is not free, but expensive either. Paid $17 for almost 7 hours of parking. Used the ZipBy app with no issue to pay for the parking and track the remaining time.

Linda Nolan 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: A must-visit if you’re in Vancouver! I don’t usually leave reviews (especially for places that aren’t restaurants), but this spot is worth checking out. Inside, they do have food, but it’s more like casual fast food think burgers and fries.

Laura Cottle 4 months ago

Fantastic experience: The education part is the most interesting and absolutely necessary! The educators connect visitors to the animals in unique ways that cannot be replicated through any other means. I'm a member and I come here and bring others often. We're always looking for the educational sessions and so much appreciate the knowledge of the education team.

Fantastic experience: This is my second time seeing Vanessa do a sea otter information session and every time I learn something new. Seeing the information session is one of my favourite things to see when I visit the aquarium. Can’t wait to come back again soon.

Fantastic experience: The Vancouver Aquarium has been a part of my life since I was six years old. I remember seeing the whales especially Skana and the belugas and Chester. I made sure that my son grew up loving the experiences and ocean/ marine mammal life at the aquarium including a behind the scenes with the belugas for his 16 th birthday - we are all so proud of Sam who fulfilled his dream by becoming employed first for Ocean Wise and then by the aquarium. Thank you to Sarah, Billy and Sam for helping me feel joy in my heart seeing the important work you do to help people learn about the animals, appreciating the work behind conservation and all that the trainers do. I am so proud of all of you and the amazing memories our family has thanks to the Vancouver aquarium- # forever grateful - thank you to all of the Vancouver Aquarium staff and the Vancouver marine mammal rescue society for all that you do in teaching us and providing experiences that last lifetimes …

Fantastic experience: Wonderful experience! Dave put on a great chat about the sea otters during feeding time. Pre-purchasing tickets online saved us a line up at the ticket booth, but we were surprised with the number of school groups present in the am. We didn't expect it to feel so busy midweek in April.

Fantastic experience: We had an amazing time here! As soon as we walked in, we completely lost track of time exploring and discovering all the different animals..They were absolutely lovely to see. One of my personal favorites was the black and golden poison dart frog such a perfect and fascinating color combination! āœØļø The food was also delicious. My son and I started with some fries as an appetizer, and of course, we couldn’t leave without trying the ice cream it was so yummy! Overall, we had a fantastic day and made some great memories. Highly recommended!

Matt Gaboury 5 months ago

Positive experience: I'd rate it higher but $100 for 2 people is pretty steep for what there is to see. It's not bad, the otters and sea lions carry the show.

Fantastic experience: Very nice all day program. Miss the dolphin and the belugas, but still very entertaining. A must see in Vancouver!

Fantastic experience: The Vancouver Aquarium is truly an iconic experience. It’s not just a place to see marine life. It’s a space that invites learning, reflection, and awe. I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained everything was, and it’s great to see how mobility accessible the layout is. You can really take your time and explore comfortably. There’s a lot to see here from the mesmerizing jellyfish to playful seals, but for me, the sea otters completely stole the show. They’re just as charming in person as you’d hope. The only real miss was the gift shop. It felt like an afterthought and I didn’t find anything I wanted to bring home, which was a bit disappointing given how memorable the experience was. Still, I walked away with great memories and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Vancouver.

Fantastic experience: Haven't been to a Aquarium since I was a child. This was a fun experience as an adult. The jellyfish exhibits were my favourite for sure.

Daniel Gerlach 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: Even on a rainy monday when we went they were quite busy. I suggest arriving when they open. Food is expensive (but delicious) bring your own food or snacks if you want to save. Also, if you're able to purchase tickets ahead, it might save you a bit of money and avoid waiting in the lineup. Lots of washrooms all around the facility, and they were very clean. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Kids had a good time. We look forward to coming back soon

Chris Ko 5 months ago

Negative experience: How could they change the membership price? Ever since the African penguins had moved to Alberta, I was a bit disappointed, but I understand for their concerns about the penguin species. But this? How they have the audacity to charge us more money with less things to see? You can still buy ā€˜silver’ for $80, however if you still want to continue your bring a friend free week benefit or even early mornings, you need to upgrade yours to gold ($95)! That is why I won’t extend my membership after this summer, they are trying scam our money people!! Any sane people would realize the membership price is not reasonable, which is extremely unfriendly for Vancouver residents that visit there regularly. The non profitable educational aquarium we once knew is gone and abolished by greedy businessmen. Wake up and stop supporting by buying their products and tickets. Donate the ocean wise organization directly instead

Mohamad Zada 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: Expensive but it is handicap & family oriented with entrepreneurs that care about safety. Full day parking was $12 as the two hours option was useless. Side note: pay online to skip the line at the entrance

Allen Felker VITVca 5 months ago

Fantastic experience: First visit. First impression. This was actually nicer than the LA aquarium with much more to see and interact with. Good effort on the displays and enclosures. Such a wide variety of fish, frogs, mamels and world wide aquatic life.

Fantastic experience: Recommend to purchase tickets in advance. A few sites offer a saving if you purchase multiple activities around the city. We combined with bicycle rentals and save 25%. You can easily spend 4 hours at the aquarium. So much to see and do. Perfect for a rainy day.

Fantastic experience: Great place to go with kids (or without). Very educative and entertaining. We liked it so much that we got seasonal pass. I wish parking was free, but it’s not (as is the case with many go to spots in Vancouver). Great experience overall!

Fantastic experience: I had a fantastic time at the Vancouver Aquarium! Walking around and seeing all the animals was a highlight, especially the adorable otters. The informative sessions where they fed the seals and discussed the wildlife rescue program were truly engaging. My only suggestion would be to improve the lighting on the signs in the darker areas, as they were hard to read. The cafĆ© was a pleasant surprise, serving decent fish and chips. While the admission fees felt a bit steep for two, I’d recommend allowing 3-4 hours to fully enjoy the experience. Overall, a great day out!

Fantastic experience: Had a great visit on our way through Vancouver! Was worried it wouldn't be as fun with all the rain but they have done a wonderful job of covering high trafficked walk ways with tents. Love seeing the trainers feed the animals. There is easily enough you could spend the whole day there especially with children. For two adults it took us about 3-4hr to see everything.

Fantastic experience: We recently travelled to Vancouver and visited the aquarium on a Friday. The whole experience was top notch. From purchasing the tickets online to the fabulous exhibits and shows. Loved learning about (and touching!) sea cucumbers in the wet lab - don't miss it. After leaving (and flying home the next day) we realized we had left my daughter's fave sweater there. I wrote to the guest experience team who replied immediately. Not only that, they quickly found and offered to ship the sweater home to Ontario. To top it off, they included a hand-written note to my daughter in the package. My heartfelt thanks to Joey and the rest of the team who were so kind, quick and human through all this. It reminded me there are good people in this world and just made the memorable visit all the more special. If you find yourself out west, I highly recommend you visit this magical place and leave a donation while you are at it. They are doing such important work and it's an experience my daughter and I won't forget. THANK YOU!!

Fantastic experience: One of most amazing aquariums we have visited around the globe. There are some very interesting species that we have never seen elsewhere. Also the contact part was great u could touch almost every funny and safe creatures. Also the tarantula rescued. This is definitely a must see of Vancouver. Considering that the city itself is quite boring and there is not much to do aquarium is so so cool!

Fantastic experience: Absolutely love the Vancouver Aquarium! We try to make it up once a year! There is so much to see! Tanks are very well kept and nicely stocked! Love the touch pools and feeding times ! Prices are very fair, and the gift shops are also well stocked and well priced ! Food court is a little pricey but tasty! You gotta pay for convenience sometimes!

Greta Gogol 6 months ago

Fantastic experience: The aquarium is outstanding! There is so much to see and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. We were especially delighted with the touch room. Chelsea and Briane, the touch room staff, had so much interesting and fun information to share, and they took note of our interests and expanded on them. We learned a lot and appreciated the opportunity to have some (gentle!) hands on experience with sea creatures. Who knew that gulls can swallow an urchin whole! There was so much to see there, four hours was about right for our visit. One concern was about the mammals there. I know their care meets standards, but it didn't seem like the sea mammals had any "off duty" areas where they could escape the crowds, and we felt bad about the limited range of the monkeys. The sea animals were rescued, but it doesn't seem like the monkeys are. Overall, highly recommend and we'll hope to back for Pride tours in June!

Positive experience: Very cool aquarium that has been set up really well. Each display is just stunning and the information written about the fish, other animals and their habitats is very educational. The 4D movie was pretty cool too. The jellyfish displays are truly mesmerizing. So much to see. Very well laid out

Fantastic experience: We happened to visit the Vancouver Aquarium today while driving around with friends, and it was absolutely amazing! The place is much bigger than we expected, and all the animals look so cute and well cared for. The staff are incredibly friendly and passionate about their work. One of the highlights was on the lower level, where we saw an educational session about snakes. What really impressed us was how the staff member actually knelt down to let the children in line touch the snake and patiently explained everything to them. Such a thoughtful and dedicated attitude truly makes a difference! This place is definitely worth visiting again!

Fantastic experience: The exhibits are well-designed, and it’s clear that a lot of care goes into the rescue and rehabilitation of animals like sea otters, seals, and sea lions. The staff and volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable, making the visit even more enjoyable. It’s a great spot to learn about marine life and conservation while having a really fun time!

Fantastic experience: The kids love it here and it is great for adults who love animals and learning, too! This aquarium is less on the entertainment aspect and more on education about the marine mammals and the importance of conservation. I especially like their work with the Marine Mammal Rescue centre - it is an affiliated non-profit organization that rescues, rehabilitates, and releases marine wildlife in distress. They have nursed a variety of marine mammals back to health, mostly harbour seals with some sea otters, Northern fur seals, sea turtles, sea lions, and even a porpoise and a false killer whale (Chester).

Fantastic experience: There is much to see! It is a pretty big aquarium so make sure to have all day free haha, there are exhibitions inside and outside, they also have a food service area.

Positive experience: Overall a pretty good place especially for kids but it's a bit small for the price. Buying tickets was painfully slow since only 1 register was opened. You buy online but they actually charge more than in person so we waited. If you've been to other aquariums in bigger cities this won't impress but they had a good variety. Don't miss the outside part the sea lions area was pretty nice and we enjoyed the rainforest area.

Fantastic experience: Worth every penny! I feel the ticket is pricey at first, but the animals look like they are being cared well and in good condition. Plus the experience is super cool. I spent ~3.5 hours. There are so much to see with variety of pieces across the globe. If you are a fan of aquarium, consider getting a membership for ~80$, you can freely come within a year, which is more beneficial than a 50$ one time entrance.

Positive experience: Nice place to explore and to kill some time in town. Sea lion show was best. Quite informative too

Positive experience: If money is no option the aquarium makes a great activity with the kid. If you are an aquarium enthusiast you'll be underwhelmed. The aquarium is small and very busy. We have gone a few times now and have never been able to see the otters due to the crowds. It was difficult to see exhibits which created a hostile environment amongst guests. The aquarium is wheelchair accessible. Bring a lunch or buy one in the cafe. The cafe has decent coffee and i was happy to get a latte. The gift shops have some great finds and unique items.

Fantastic experience: Fantastic experience! Dave the Otter Interpreter was a highlight (OK, his furry coworkers were the real stars, but Dave did a great job repping them). There's so much to see and learn - give yourself several hours to enjoy everything.

Fantastic experience: The entry fee for 2 was about $95 in Jan 2025, truly eye-popping. But did I have a great time? You bet. It exceeded my expectations, it was significantly more enjoyable and memorable compared to what I remembered as a kid. Other than wishing that the admission prices were more friendly, I would recommend dropping by the aquarium if you’re from out of town. I recommend budgeting 3.5-4 hours for the visit.

Fantastic experience: The Vancouver Aquarium has been one of my favourite things in this city since I was young. It’s really amazing to have such a place that is so dedicated to conservation and rehabilitation/rescue of animals. As a marine animal lover, I’ve been to my fair share of aquariums and I think the animals here genuinely seem to be thriving and love their trainers and caretakers. It’s a blast for kids, and visiting as an adult gave me a new lens on this place. My friend had told me about the annual membership, and how if you can visit at least twice in a year it already pays for itself, so it was a no-brainer. I’m looking forward to bringing friends here especially on the months you can bring in a friend for free! If it’s one thing I regret, it’s not visiting more often and I had forgotten what a neat place this is. Definitely aim for a weekday if you want to take your time to see everything including the many training and feeding shows. We got lucky and stumbled upon the two-toed sloth getting some treats!

Fantastic experience: Parking is a challenge on holidays and weekends. But kids enjoyed the displays. We got the chance to see Scuba-clause just before Christmas. It was a good experience though it was very crowded and the fun eroded a bit because of that. Marine life can be experienced first hand without getting wet or diving in.

Fantastic experience: I loved it. I went so many times and it was great, they have an extensive variety of fishes, jelly fish, starfish, sponges and other kinds of animals like reptiles, amphibians and also animals from Amazonia. The show with seals is cute and funny. If you're thinking of going it's better if you buy tickets online and you haven't to wait at the line.

Fantastic experience: I always love visiting the Vancouver Aquarium! I hadn’t been back for about 6 years but visited yesterday. Ticket prices are expensive but I definitely think it’s worth the price. The exhibits were great and I loved seeing the frog one in particular. Watched a sea lion show which was also really fun. Had lunch there - also expensive but very tasty.

Fantastic experience: We had a great experience at the aquarium! We were able to see all or the animals that we intended to see and the wet lab was phenomenal! Our guide Teagan was knowledgeable and great at sharing information about the wonderful creatures in there that we were allowed to touch!

Fantastic experience: I’m a member, so I visit often, but today was especially fascinating. I got to see the giant octopus and sloth in action, and I thoroughly enjoyed the staff’s insightful explanations about the sea lions and otters. Thank you!

Positive experience: Great aquarium - we had a blast visiting! The layout was a bit confusing but we eventually figured it out. There wasn’t a long wait to utilize the elevator (we had a stroller), so visiting different floors was easy. Our son LOVED the kids play area where he could play veterinarian to different stuffed animals. They have 2 octopuses at this aquarium, but unfortunately both were hiding when we were there.

Fantastic experience: This place is such a calm and enjoyable mix of learning and fun. I’ve made so many special memories here over the years, and every visit feels unique. The displays are always interesting, and the staff are super friendly and happy to answer questions. If you’re not a fan of big crowds or lots of kids, I’d recommend going on a weekday for a more relaxed vibe.

Fantastic experience: The Vancouver Aquarium is definitely one of the best attractions in the city. While the price is insanely high (can be up to 55$ for one ticket depending on the day), it is a well maintained and well designed facility and worth the cost. It can get busy on the weekends, so plan accordingly. The aquarium provides excellent learning opportunities for visitors young and old.
