Negative experience: been here several times and find the staff very helpful, however today I was extremely disappointed with Antony who I found patronising, passive aggressive unhelpful. once I got home I called the shop for the advice I was asking Antony for as I didn't get the answers from him! thankfully in the end I got the help I needed.

Positive experience: I find these people so helpful. Yes I have also ordered online and 2 fish had issues and died. But when I went back and said this that helped me out and got me free replacements. Going in and buying from the shop is definitely the best way to do it but just be mindful of keeping fish in your car for extended periods of time. Also this place is generally busy so be mindful of making room for other customers is you want to spend a couple of hours there. Also last thing I would say is to be patient with staff. They don't know everything and it's impossible to know absolutely everything. While this place does have experts in the field and they are super knowledgeable don't be mean and asking all sorts of very specific questions that you yourself can use your phone for. They also have loads of information on the fish through their website

Negative experience: My initial experience with SA was a bit of a disappointment. I ordered a rare pair of betta fish, a male and female. Upon arrival, the male was in critical condition, clearly dying. Within 30 minutes, prior to any attempts to acclimate him, he was gone. While they agreed to replace him, after about a month and a half, I was told they are having difficulties procuring one and that, if they don't get it in the next shipment they'd refund. It did not arrive and they proccessed a refund for half the pair's price. Felt like they gave up. Selling a pair implies a complete offering, not a partial one. It is like ordering 40 euro grilled steak and mash in a restaurant and receiving just the mash but being charged 20. I chose to not make too big of a deal out of it and left it at that. Their subsequent orders were handled well, and I even left positive reviews. I appreciated the convenience and generally good service. However, what left me really dissapointed now is that I was offered second hand aquarium rack system, including a sump, at a reasonable price. I would have loved that deal as I had decent success breeding wild bettas. I was in the process of arranging transport from Dublin. I was then informed the sump was excluded. I accepted this. I can get a sump, and it is still convenient as it would have been with plumbing and tanks however they left the price as is. Then on Sunday, after waiting a week and a half while they're “sorting their inventory “, I was told there was a bit of an urgency as there is a second party interested. This was the first time I was informed about any urgency and I immediately offered to pay at least a deposit or if they wish the full amount. I asked my transport that was on standby to pick it up and they confirmed they can pick up Monday next week. The following day they informed me that the deal was off as the other buyer was taking the entire lot. What is particularly frustrating is the lack of decency. At no point was I informed of the urgency or the other interested party. The decision was relayed through a casual WhatsApp message. Courtesy would at least have been at least quick call and, as is common in customer service, some type of a gesture of good will and reconciliation. Over the past year, I've spent approximately €1,400 with SA, including a pending €300 pending order and €200 pump purchase planned which was supposed to be connected to that rack and additional plumbing for a separate project. This would have brought the total close to 2000. While this may not be a monumental sum, I believed to have shown some loyalty, and then to have a promised deal revoked so casually, without even a sincere apology or gesture of goodwill, is disappointing. Well money talks, and to avoid future disappointments, I will just shift to sources which will value the business. Additionally, the prices at SA are somewhat higher than all of their competitors to accommodate the loyalty system.

Negative experience: I have had no issue with this shop prior to this and have always loved the selection of fish and helpful staff. I checked the website for stock of the dwarf pea puffers which advised to contact the shop, i did this on instagram and 2 days later (yesterday at lunch time) got advised that yes they had loads in stock, made the journey to the shop today to be told they do not have any and havnt had for a number of days, extremly unhappy with this as clearly the staff member replying to messages did not acctual check the shop stock

Negative experience: Really overpriced smallish ryukin goldfish 25 Euro went two mins down the road same fish and same size 10 Euro, also you have to wait forever to get served honestly decent fish but no better than elsewhere in most cases, one large goldfish was 60 Euro :) again 2 min down the road an even larger goldfish 30 or if I got 2 it would have been 50 for both.

Negative experience: One star only because I got 6 guppies from here and two shrimp. My freshwater tropical tank has been running for almost 3 months now and all other fish are happy and plants are happy however two days after adding my new guppies and shrimp in the all of sudden died one by one and the I I also added two shrimp yesterday 19/10/24 and it was not even in the tank 24 hours and found them dead already and I’ve done nothing different and tested tank all tests 0ppm. Tank running well, have also got water tested from other shops and all is well.

Fantastic experience: First time to visit Seahorse Aquariums to pick up our little axolotl. From the very first contact with Stacey via email a few weeks ago, the experience has been incredible. Kept up to date regularly in relation to our order. Today we had the pleasure of meeting Kealan,who was nothing short of amazing. Took the time to show my fish crazy 6 year old around, and also let him hold and touch some sea creatures which made his day. This is truly an amazing place!!

Edit: it's well set shop all fish are in a clean tanks clearly marked which fish is where. Well organized overall. One remark to a staff members, if you just dropped expensive fish to the floor in front of the customer who wants to buy it NEVER say the fish is OK. Negative experience: I used to drive 1 hour just to buy fish from here but my last experience makes me give a 1 star review just to worn others. I got really bad quality fish , from the back, NEVER ACCEPT FISH FROM THE BACK. I wanted to buy fish from a fishtank and I was told that they are not for sale, and suggested to buy from a different tank much smaller fish. No sign sugested not for sale. Again Do not accept fish from the back. Was a waste of money for me because some of them died the next day and some where to small for the price asked.

Fantastic experience: I had put in a small Order to Cork yesterday for freshwater Tropical fish. As people do, I changed my mind on the quantity at 8am this morning through the order menu. I stated, I would call at 9:30am when the shop opened. 9:30am hit and Stacey called me instead and provided further guidance. Drew from freshwater assisted me further with my current 40L/10.5 gallon planted tank setup. I am a beginner here and could not be more pleased with the service. I wish I had found this site sooner, (last month) as I would have bought the whole aquarium setup from this team. Thank you very much Seahorse team!

Great crew, incredible selection of fish, both marine and freshwater. My only problem with Seahorse is that... I cannot buy all fish I'd like to buy every time I am there...

Fantastic experience: Was in there today have to say had a problem with my external filter for my tank rang them told them the make rang me back with the part and put it aside for me. Recommend this please. Only downside was I bought 6 fish and a angelfish got home and there was only 5 in the bag I don't think the chap did it on purpose he probably missed the bag with one of the fish just I recommend checking before you leave the shop it can happen. It's not seahorse fault or the chap I would still give them 10 out of 10 and definitely will be back

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic fish shop. The fish and plants are healthy, with a huge range of products in all areas, food, aquascaping, filters, etc. The staff never make you feel like you’ve asked a silly question and always dedicate their time to helping. Kurt went above and beyond for me today. He saw I was looking a little lost and spent a huge amount of time advising me on rocks, driftwood and aquascaping ideas for my betta tank. He went out of his way to hand pick the best plants for setting up my tank, and answered any questions I had. He explained everything well, and was funny and kind. He even helped me choose shrimp for my aquarium. He is a member of staff who stands out in my opinion. Will be returning soon to buy my betta! Thank you Kurt

Fantastic experience: Probably the best place you can visit if you are wanting to get into fishkeeping. The staff are wizards when it comes to everything you'll need to know, along with being very friendly. Their range of fish is unmatched in Ireland. Our first visit last year had us blown away, their tanks are all filled to the brim with fish which is something you don't often see. They have tons of materials to get started too and the stamp cards are just the cherry on top! Ordered fish online from them many times and only twice have we had a dead on arrival, which they promptly refunded without question.

Negative experience: Well I respect the owner ,great knowledge on tropical and marine fish. But unfortunately I received 6 tetra from one tanks in store and with in 24hr of entry my tank other fish started dieing and new fish started showing clear signs on there sides. Unfortunately I lost 20 and was lucky to get treatment for them from different store to cover 10 illness. Which worked. I reported to the store and was shocked to see tetra were still for sale. All do it was confirmed by few staff any reported of sick fish gets marked and removed from sale. Next time my tank is need water test And past .but there own tanks levels were off the scale. I have also read that others have had same experience and left with no choice but to shop elsewhere for fish. Now after I treatment I got some fish and put in same tank. All fine. I continued to put fish from other breeders in. All are fine no issues at all. Only 6 fish I got from this store were cause of my problem. When I told staff yes I believe you 100 % but you got to past are test you never get perfect results. But ha at least the store does loose any profits. I got very abuse off staff and don't care lf customer hear anything. Most looked around and only purchased food etc and left. The owner will have smart replies to this. Or something like we don't behave this way. Sure. Bucket of died fish from early morning before customer arrives hide.

Negative experience: Unfortunately I have to give a one star after previously giving 5. I am a regular customer of the shop but I won't be again. So I have a tropical fresh water aquarium it's cycled over a year, very happy full of live plants, snails, and community fish never an issue with it. So I was in the store buying some plant fertiliser and co2 and my father in law asked would I like some albino corys as a gift he insisted so I said OK and put them in my tank it was 30 euro for 6. I only have one left after a few days and hes very happy in the tank. I done a digital test on my tetra aquatics and showed the older guy in store at the fresh water instead of giving me replacement fish he sold me products for my water. He said my hardness wasn't great and said it must be my tank and my tetra strips don't test for ammonia and it seems my tank has crashed? Which is nonsense the tank is as healthy as can be very disappointed in the customer service won't be back again. Also I've seen another 1 star review about the albino corys so the guy in the fresh water area needs listen to customers more. Very strange how there's 1 very happy albino corry left if my tank has crashed? Also its not fair he's on his own now when they are suppose to be in groups which is why I BOUGHT 6!

Well stocked, helpful staff, but most importantly they will advise you not to buy something if you don't have the resources or ability to keep it. That goes for fish and plants.
