Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium

Positive experience: There's a good variety of fish and other creatures here. The Otters weren't expected for me, but nonetheless were a welcome site. Make sure you check the schedule online before you go to see what time certain events start. I went earlier in the day and then found out an event I'd want to see would start in an hour. Plan accordingly around the shows if you want to see them. Some hallways are a bit narrow which can make it a bit difficult to view all the different tanks, especially if there are children around. Overall it's not the biggest aquarium in the world, but it's an aquarium. If you like fish you'll be happy.

Fantastic experience: We had an absolutely fantastic family day out at Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium! The kids were captivated from the moment we walked in. There's a brilliant collection of marine life, but a few things really made our visit special. We were lucky enough to be there for the otter feeding, and the staff gave a wonderful explanation – it was both fun and educational. The kids were completely thrilled to spot real-life 'Nemo' and 'Dory' in the tanks! The absolute showstoppers were the two huge sharks, which were simply stunning to see up close, and the amazing sea turtle. The turtle was so calm and would swim right up to the glass, happily posing for photos with the children. It's a must-visit in Dingle and a perfect activity for families. We loved every minute!

Fantastic experience: Doesn't appear large from the outside, but there's a huge amount to see inside. I was very impressed, and I've been to many aquariums. The penguin exhibit and seeing the loggerhead turtle up close were particular highlights. Highly recommended

Fantastic experience: Always love coming to Dingle Aquarium! It was the 23rd of March when I visited and I want to say that the guy who was running the otter feeding that day was fantastic! He gave so much interesting information, was really engaging and overall just wonderful. Before feeding the otters, he was telling me about fish in the touch pool and then let me know he was about to feed the otters and on his way from there to the otter enclosure (about half of the aquarium) he told everyone who he passed that it was about to be feeding time for the otters. That meant no one missed it, everyone who was in the aquarium made their way to the otters and it was great seeing a staff member caring so much about customers experience and being so engaging while doing so This place also has the coolest animals and they're always expanding. The butterfly room that opened 3 years ago (I think) is just so cool, it's wonderful to see new butterflies coming out of the cocoons each year. And I love how this aquarium really places an emphasis on education but in a fun, inviting way

Fantastic experience: Dingle is one of the most picturesque towns in the country. Some great places to eat, beautiful views, really friendly people and some absolutely beautiful views but every time we’re there the Aquarium is a must for us. It’s such a wonderful experience for young and old. From native fish, tropical saltwater fish, sharks, turtles and rays to highly entertaining penguins, it has so much on offer. On our most recent visit the tropical jungle area was open with lizards, iguanas and a mesmerising selection of butterflies. Reasonably priced, an excellent variety of sea creatures, a lovely gift shop and staff and just an all round wonderful experience every time. Highly recommended as is the drive to Dingle.

Fantastic experience: Lovely place to spent family time. Great for smaller kids but the place can attract teenagers too. Over the years improvements took place. Beautiful collection of fish and sea life. Educational tasks over the day. You can also see the penquins, small talk at their feeding time too. Butterfly section is lovely. Younger kids can spend there about 1h.

Negative experience: Was here on Sunday, nice spot but really not worth the €42 if cost to enter for two adults. Been to bigger and better Aquariums with a lot more in them for half the cost. Unfortunately not a great review but not worth the price in my opinion Update: I see that I got a reply from the management saying that cost is high etc, but if you look at the aquarium in Salthill in Galway it's €15 per adult and they have a larger aquarium with more live animals then Dingle. So the reply doesn't make any sense. Due to the shocking reply and cost I have downgraded again to one star. As someone from Kerry and loves Kerry I hate to see tourist traps like this place.

Fantastic experience: Visited Oceanworld on a Sunday afternoon.it is situated by the pier and looks tiny from the outside but is actually very spacious inside.spent over an hour going through the aquarium and there was loads to see.the highlight was definitely the 2 sharks.seeing them up close was amazing.we had a great day out..highly recommend..

The aquarium itself has plenty to see with great underwater viewing areas, touch pools and a tropical butterfly area. There's plenty of parking across the road and it's only a short walk into town. Negative experience: It's very well arranged and good for the kids?. but this is an old-fashioned zoo. Fish that migrate over thousands of miles trapped in small glass boxes, it's wrong. In response to the owner I won't be visiting an aquarium again yours was my first and last. I visited only as my kids wanted too. Your response makes no defence of my view on the treatment of the fish in your establishment. This was the key point of my review.

Fantastic experience: Brilliant experience. The ability to touch some of the rays, under supervision, were a highlight. Watching the feeding of the penguins and Michelle's commentary was superb. She is so well versed in all that is there. She made the trip even more worthwhile.

Fantastic experience: Oceanworld aquarium is located shorefront in downtown Dingle. Walking distance to everything. I'm always a fan of visiting a local zoo or aquarium. I love the animals and seeing how each city/country highlights different aspects of their own wildlife. My husband and I really liked the Oceanworld aquarium and felt that we got our money's worth (if nothing else, we felt like we contributed to their conservation efforts). As you would expect, the aquarium had lots of fish both small as large and fresh water or salt water. They also had an otter exhibit (quite big actually) and since it was still morning, they were swimming and out and about. So cute!! Our favorites were both of the penguins exhibits. They were swimming and playing and interacting with us. Their names were posted and they had little beaded bracelets to identify each one. The king penguins would launch out of the water to jump onto to rocks and would torpedo through the water (using their poop to propel them). We met Molly the sea turtle who was rescued in one of the local bays. She was also very interactive but almost trance-like, so that was kind of sad too. They had 2 large sharks in her exhibit and beautiful large mantra rays (which I absolutely adore their faces that usually are on the ocean floor, but they would climb up the glass and show off for us. Another unique exhibit was the butterfly room and we learned that if you wear a bright color like hot pink, they might actually land on you! The aquarium was breeding the butterflies in a case too, so it was cool to see how they invest in their little habitat. As we left the aquarium, we walked through their large gift shop (great for kids) and stopped at the dolphin, Fungi's statue, before making

Fantastic experience: Visited while on holiday with my kids. We had an excellent visit, the staff were very helpful throughout, proactively approaching several times to point out something worth seeing to the kids or grown ups. The layout was really clear and some brilliant sections based around different parts of the sea such as the Atlantic and more tropical. Even got to rub a stingray. It’s about an hour to get around comfortably.

Positive experience: Good place for kids and adults. It’s in the centre of Dingle town. There is no parking inside the compound but there is a public parking area just opposite to the aquarium, busy time it’s hard to get. Toilets are neat and clean.

Fantastic experience: Thoroughly enjoyed our visit, lots of interesting facts, posters and videos on all the sea life in the aquarium. The areas for the animals are well looked after and makes for a great experience to get up close to so many amazing creatures like penguins, butterflies, sharks, turtles, otters etc. well worth a visit. Fantastic experience: What an amazing Aquarium. It’s very big. Has so many different fish. A huge shark tank, a butterfly garden, otters, two penguins exhibits. One inside and one outdoor. Lots of viewing tanks. And even an arch one that you walk under. A huge gift shop. It was 52e for 2 adults and a child but we spent 2 hours at it which I think is good value. I’d definitely recommend this for a day out.

Fantastic experience: We spend a morning here after the weather turned on us - and what a lovely aquarium this was! Even though it’s relatively small, there’s lots to see and do, and it’s not just fish! Visit the butterfly centre, see the otters and penguins, as well as a giant turtle and walk through water tunnel. I would highly recommend Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium, an it’s a great option for rainy days. There are various talks throughout the day too. I would recommend buying tickets in advance as it can get busy - just to make sure you reserve your spot.

Fantastic experience: Great place to introduce kids to our Sealife. The staff are very knowledgeable and the tanks were clean, with plenty of hiding spots for the shyer species. I felt a little sad though for the captive otters and the penguins had a small area. Otherwise it was a good place to visit

Fantastic experience: Excellent experience to be had, for big kids and small, everything from rather large sharks to all sorts of fish, You can see Penguins and Otters, they also have a tropical butterfly room. Large Shark tank , loads of other fish tanks. You can even find Nemo. I was very impressed with he wrap around huge screen where for over 5 minutes you think you are playing with the dolphins, swimming with the fish, and dive deep with a whale. I love it there and staff are friendly and informative.

My biggest complaint is other guests with children. I know kids get excited and bang, but none of the staff stepped up and asked the kids to stop banging on the glass. There were lots of staff out and present ready to answer any and all questions, everyone was very knowledgeable. All the posters displayed great info. The animal habitats were very clean! We would most certainly visit again!

Negative experience: Place is an absolute ripoff. Took 12 minutes from start to finish and both my partner and I love fish. Very little to look at and extortionately expensive. We’ve been to aquariums all over Ireland and have to say this was the most expensive for the very little experience you get. They have a great big tank with sharks etc but the bottom line is that this place isn’t worth the outrageous cost.

Positive experience: Good place to visit in Dingle, It looked pretty tiny on the outside but was surprisingly big. It was cool to see all the different types of first and to see the sharks ! The only downside would be the gift shop, I purchased magnets and all of them in the pile had some sort of scratch so had to dig out the less damaged one :(

Staff in there are so knowledgeable, can answer any questions. Ideal venue for a family trip,the kids will have a great time. The new reptile area fabulous,dont miss the crocs and iguanas .... Once you've paid,you can come and go all day. Fantastic experience: Had a wonderful here at ocean world. Loved seeing the seals, otters, sharks, manta rays. Crabs. But most of all the antics of the penguins. We purchased a painting by paddy the penguin. Of feet paint, ( like kids hand painting), but with his feet. Excellent day out.
