Negative experience: Thought we'd give the shop another try since we haven't been in for a couple years; since every fish we've ever bought from them (tetras, plecos, reedfish, angels etc) either got ill/died within the first few hours of getting them home. Upon walking in, the tanks looked a hell of a lot cleaner than what they used to look like. That seems to be the only positive we've took from this. We bought some rummy nose tetras & a red devil angelfish & within hours the angels health had depleted; from swimming through the plants and decor to laying on the substrate with laboured breathing. We put the angel in its own tank overnight with treatment & it's no better so it's definitely not a problem with our water (since it's a well established tank with very healthy fish, surely if there was a problem with our water such as ammonia, we'd have nothing but dead fish?) So it has to be a problem with the fish itself because all the other fish are feeding (rummys included), lively and swimming fine. Extremely disappointed not only because we had to spend more money rushing around for treatment but upsetting, because we love fish keeping and hate seeing them suffer.

Fantastic experience: This is an independent aquatics shop. The owners are always happy to advise and know their stuff. Good healthy fish and lots of variety. Always have some unusual specimen fish. Great selection of food, substrate and decorations. Healthy liive plants. Well worth a visit.

Negative experience: I pop in this evening and was going to spend so amount of money in the shop but the lady in there was so Rude can could not get me out of the shop quick enough so went to pet station and they was help full and polite so 10 minutes of there time as gained £50 in there till not yours unfortunately

Fantastic experience: Fantastic store. When I started fish keeping I had been to many aquatic stores but Ak aquatics was the best by far. Staff are very informative and friendly. I've never had an issue with any fish bought from the store and they have a good variety of fish available. I would recommend this place to any fish keeper.

Fantastic experience: Amazing selection of fish, some really quality rare species everytime I visit. The gentleman that works in the shop has excellent knowledge and a genuine passion for the hobby. Only downside is i’ve been a few times when finishing work around 4:30 to find it closed when its meant to be open until 6 according to the opening hours on google. Still definitely recommended.

Negative experience: Called in dead on closing time and the guy in the shop was very helpful, called in again in the middle of the day and was told I could not look at any stock fish could only buy what I needed, not very helpful.
