🗣️ Sharkbait Reef: Reviews
Fantastic experience: Lovely animals, a really good range of species with information about them on screens. Glass was clean and all animals look well cared for and healthy. Would absolutely go again, a nice place to go to have a break from the rollercoasters and the queuing
Fantastic experience: This is a part of the sea life chain and as lots of different aquariums with different types of sea life including fish, sharks and starfish etc. There is also the opportunity to be able to touch some of the starfish under supervision which is a good experience for young children and adults also. Very educational and enjoyable
Fantastic experience: Small but with plenty to see as you walked around with lots of large tanks which are all easy to view the different types of fish. A friendly staff member was available to chat about the starfish which you are allowed to touch, great for young kids. Sharks, stingrays amongst many of the sea life that were here. Great addition to the theme park giving you some rest from the excitement of the rollercoasters and rides at the Alton towers theme park. Definitely recommend visiting while your there
Fantastic experience: Wierdly the part of Alton Towers i enjoyed the most, highly reccemend if you get a little downtime and just want to relax. A beautiful collection of incredible animals.
Fantastic experience: Brilliant and definitely worth a visit.
Fantastic experience: Good aquarium got really good photos
Fantastic experience: I had expected much less considering it’s just a sea life within a theme park but it’s actually quite dense! Lots of fun, and a nice break from the rollercoasters.
Fantastic experience: Nice little aquarium inside alton towers. Free to enter, has well themed exhibits and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly
Negative experience: The tanks seemed much too small and overcrowded for the fish
Fantastic experience: Brilliant alternative for people who don't like rides and rollercoasters. Thankfully I love all that stuff but enjoyed a full Sea Life Centre experience on top as well
Fantastic experience: Lovely little aquarium with a variety of sea creatures - it's a nice break from all the rides! I especially enjoyed the area where you could touch the starfish - very informative and interesting
Fantastic experience: God I love my fish and this aquarium has some crackers! Whether your a jellyfish man, or like your sharks or finding nemo then this place is for you! I even washed my hands and stroked 'Troy' the starfish
Fantastic experience: It's an absolutely amazing little aquarium, just on the edge of Mutiny Bay & Katanga Canyon in Alton Towers. Great break out of bad weather, or just some time to calm your nerves before & after the wickerman get away from the busy park and screams. Beautifully set out tanks, showing of a vast array of stunning fish, sharks and rays..... and get your fingers cleaned after eating doughnuts by the cleaner shrimp.. Best bit it's FREE to enter
Fantastic experience: Great as a free aquarium inside the park. Nice to break up the day a bit between rides and queuing.
Fantastic experience: If you want a bit of a break for the rides in Alton Towers this is great for kids and adults , lots to see and look at , laid out good & interesting for kids
Fantastic experience: What an awesome aquarium, I love that it's something indoors that isn't a ride but is just as fun and interesting. The staff at the touch pools are very informative, I was asking a lot of questions as I was very interested and found the staff were great. I love the photo entrance with the huge tentacles, and it fits in to the pirate theme very well
Fantastic experience: What a lovely relaxing experience amongst the hustle and bustle of Alton towers. You can even touch starfish or have a shrimp clean your fingernails. You can go in a shark tunnel and see lots of amazing sea creatures. It’s bigger than I thought it was too
Positive experience: I've been to Alton Towers a lot but this is the first time I've been in Sharkbait Reef. It's a lot bigger than you think with a lot of great tanks and big fish. There is also a small interaction area where you can touch star fish. Definitely recommend visiting my children enjoyed it.
Fantastic experience: My kids absolutely loved it. Got to touch star fish and see so many different sorts of fish. We went through twice while visiting alton towers. After visiting a larger sealife centre 2 weeks before I can honestly say that I was happy to see how clean it was and how well cared for the tanks were in comparison
Fantastic experience: Enjoyable visit, and just enough fish! Once you’ve been here, there’s no need to visit a larger Sea Life facility!
Fantastic experience: I was amazed with the variety of sea life here. It was a spectacular experience and was really mesmerising. Nice and peaceful. We got to touch starfish, shrimps and hermit crabs. The staff are really friendly. Amazing!
Fantastic experience: Been to alton towers many times before but never to this (I think it's relatively new) Included in the price and was amazed at how big it was Brilliant!
Fantastic experience: Best sealife on the planet. Still loads of fish, and definitely. No penguins
Fantastic experience: Great attraction for a theme park. Quick walk through, and educational.
Fantastic experience: Me and a friend visited here at the end of the day after spending the day on rides. We are both Zoology students and were amazed at how knowledgeable the staff were, they spoke to us in great detail and we really loved our visit! Thanks for ending our day on such a high, we’d love to see axolotl on our next visit
Fantastic experience: Let it be known... Alton Towers isn't just an adrenaline junkies dream, the other stuff you can do here is just as fun. The team up with the Sea Life Centre is a nice touch, the team members were really nice and friendly and really keen to chat about the sea life.
Fantastic experience: My brother had a great time on Sharkbait Reef at Alton Towers today and he loved it and it is the time time he went to Sharkbait Reef in Alton Towers that it is similar to Sealife Manchester that that is his opinion for Sharkbait Reef and he thinks it just like Spongebob where Spongebob lives in a pineapple under the sea this is also his opinion for Sharkbait Reef as well, he had a nice time at Sharkbait Reef at Alton Towers today
Fantastic experience: Great facility for children to experience marine life. Excellent idea for touching hermit crabs, starfish and shrimp. Thank you for explaining in detail so our children could understand. Will definitely come again. All staff accommodated us well.
Fantastic experience: A great place to pop into when you need to slow the pace of your day down. It's essentially a slimmed down version of a sealife centre. You can see plenty of fish and we even got to feel a star fish. Great for all ages and the added bonus of this being included in your regular theme park ticket.
Fantastic experience: Really nice aquarium with lots of diversity of species
Fantastic experience: Brilliant sealife centre, especially considering it's included in the entrance price. Loads to see and very well maintained! All the fish are well kept and the staff are very knowledgeable. Good education in caring for our sealife!
Positive experience: Something a little bit different in amongst the rides.
Fantastic experience: An absolutely fantastic little aquarium! It could be a stabs alone place to visit and it would still be worth it. Amazing to see horseshoe crabs
Fantastic experience: I love an aquarium, so I'm probably biased, but I thought it was great. Considering it was free and just an extra attraction at the park, there were plenty of fish to look at and the staff were very informative. It's not very big so you can go round quite quickly unless you are like me and spend ages looking at each section.
Fantastic experience: Best fish's ever. It's quite rare there's a horseshoe crab there.
Fantastic experience: Lovely aquarium to pop in and see the fish, sharks, jellyfish and other critters for a while! We stayed for 2 days at the park, so sparing an hour to leisurely wonder around the tanks was a wonderful way to end the trip. The information plaques next to eat different species were very interesting and informative. Not sure I would take the time out if only visiting for one day if you don’t go to Alton Towers regularly.
Fantastic experience: Amazing attraction, so many great fish and the atmosphere was great. Wouldn't recommend bringing very small children as the dim lighting could be scary, and due to the one way, no overtaking system in place for covid, once inside you can't easily get them out and would have to wait for everyone in front to leave. I say this as a family behind me had a small child who wanted to leave and the mother was upset that I was actually looking at the fish, rather than just walking quickly out, which is ridiculous. Nonetheless, great show with plenty of information and different tanks. I personally loved the seahorse, as well as the underwater tunnel.
Positive experience: Small aquarium with a variety of fish to see. They were just feeding some of the fish when we walked around, so there was lots of activity.
Positive experience: The fish are Beautiful to watch swimming and i have always been a fan of sea life centres but I'm not happy that someone who works here was running after people with learning disabilities saying " exuse me guys " who hadn't explained things properly after they walked past other people in there and there was loads of people outside not social distancing, it was embarrassing and i had to bite my tongue in there listening to her going on about restrictions when they let thousands of people into Alton towers who don't social distance.
Fantastic experience: Many fishes, excellent for children.
Fantastic experience: Can't believe this attraction is free! Amazing!
Fantastic experience: Great visit with autistic child ok so things where a little differant this time no photo on entry but can live with that. Spacing well thought out and staffed well enough though it was a quite time we visited it worked well
Fantastic experience: This is a great place to visit. A good array of creatures with some you can touch. There are sharks which were very popular with our 3 year old as well as Nemos and Dories!
Fantastic experience: Good attraction to visit especially this is something different running between all rides. For 20 minutes you can relax watching quite interesting examples of various types of sea creatures. For bigger fans of sealife there is nice observation point where you can sit back and watch relaxing life of the sea. When my daughter was little, we sat there and watched the beautiful underwater life many times. Since she has reached 1.4m we run more around the bigger rides, however we still always visit sealife when we are there. Good thing as well the queue is generally short . For little kids this is quite educational as well. Certainly worth visit.
Fantastic experience: Clean tanks and well cared for marine life. Friendly, helpful and knowledgable staff.
Fantastic experience: One of the best but obviously smaller
Positive experience: Loved seeing all the aquatic life
Positive experience: It's a good attraction within the Alton Towers Resort. It's normally fairly busy and you have to give yourself plenty of time to do it justice.
Fantastic experience: Loved the place.
Positive experience: Great little add on to Alton Towers Theme park. Our little girl loved it.
Fantastic experience: Great time at this attraction while we were staying in the splash landings hotel. Just round the corner and free admission. A helpful and knowledgeable team of staff. Great for our young kids to pass some time.
Fantastic experience: A large amount of different fish here. The perfect place to pass some time when you don’t feel like rides.
Fantastic experience: Great when visiting the Trafford Centre
Fantastic experience: Really loved looking round at all the fish not massive but definitely worth a look got some brilliant pics
Positive experience: A nice little aquarium. Nothing great but well kept. But very simple. Don’t expect anything amazing in terms of wide range of fishes. It is definitely worth a look.
Positive experience: Exact same format and layout as other SeaLife Centres. Little one loved it non-the-less. Pricey gift shop
Fantastic experience: Fantastic little aquarium. We loved the pools where you can feel the creatures.
Positive experience: I of the better Sealife Centers
Positive experience: Good addition to the Alton Towers rides and my daughter really liked it, especially given that the fastest ride she will go on is the runaway mine train
Fantastic experience: I would like to sing the praises of Nathan at Sharkbait reef my 3 children have been through the aquarium at least four times in the last two days because of his willingness to answer questions and his enthusiasm for his job! His knowledge is amazing and my son Tom thinks he is the best!! Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to them and help them learn!
Fantastic experience: Fantastic place. Pleasantly surprised by the collection of sea creatures considering it is in the middle of a theme park! Very nice way of spending time away from roller-coasters.
Positive experience: Slightly odd to find a small aquarium in a theme park, but not a bad way to pass a little time particularly with smaller children
Positive experience: This was much better than we expected, worth 20 minutes of your time, more if you have kids who get to touch some of the creatures on display with staff.
Positive experience: A great aquarium free of charge.
Positive experience: Nice to see some fish
Positive experience: It's a nice addition to the park especially for the younger kids.
Fantastic experience: Love a good aquarium, great addition to the park. Well maintenance with plenty of things to see and do.
Fantastic experience: Great attraction to visit. The staff during our visit were really hands on and gave a lot of information about the sealife on display. We got a 1 on 1 short session about the starfish which our little girl enjoyed very much. She got to touch some of the starfish and found out lots about them. The guy tailored the information perfectly to her age group.
Positive experience: Nice and simple aquarium and great for getting hands on with some sea creatures
Positive experience: Always nice and warm in here, great for when it's raining too
Positive experience: Sealife centre that is pirate themed, the largest tank doesn't have any really large sharks but its a nice sealife centre.
