Pro Shrimp

Positive experience: Long time customer who's been finding plant orders been deteriorating over the last year, and my last one I had to chuck out half of it, and having experience their poor customer service before I just couldn't be bothered. The last straw is them not retaining our details on their new rubbish website in which it seems has a lot less choices. Time to find a new supplier. Like everything in life, it comes to an end

Negative experience: Returned the item. They did not return the money as promised. Email, website and telephone line - no response. Claim with the PayPal for chargback. Won the case.

Positive experience: Everything was good and smooth and seemed like a legit company. That was until something went wrong. Customer service is not a priority, as evident by the fact the phone lines are like 9am- 3pm and they don't answer the phone, i've had no email message regarding order that was missing for several days. However they did eventually replace the 2 plants that was missing from my order. Also have had many plants arrive in quite a poor state or smaller than pictured and not complained...but missing from order with no explanation other than error is not acceptable.

Positive experience: First time I visited they were closed and we're only accepting people who are collecting. Went back the following week. I tried calling ahead but they diverted to a message service. Took the chance to drive for 30 minutes. I was told that there wasn't much in terms of livestock due to the time of year then I was left for 20 minutes wandering trying to get the attention of someone. The few shrimp there were fairly decent but the lack of customer service and the lack of communication by phone was enough to make me think twice about going back. Their social media presence was also lacking and I was left without any response too. It has potential but they need to work on the customer service front.

Negative experience: Customer service is non existent. Received a damaged item but when I tried to return for a refund all my emails where ignored. Will never buy here again.

Fantastic experience: Slight mix up with my order but it was resolved immediately. My fish love their new coconut moss arch. They keep swimming through it and nibbling it. Thank you.

Positive experience: I have been to the shop and purchased direct but due to the distance from my home this is the first time ordering online with Pro shrimp. Great experience from the time i ordered to the moment i received my plant in perfect condition. I thought Yodel would be naff but i was wrong.Ordered 1st August received 2nd with constant updates from Yodel to the whereabouts of my purchase. Well done Pro Shrimp/Yodel will certainly be ordering again.

Fantastic experience: I want to say that I have already placed several orders in this store. I bought plants and shrimp. Every time, all the shrimps reached me alive. I only had a problem with the plants twice, but both times it was immediately solved within 24 hours. I highly recommend this store due to the quality of service and professional approach to the customer

Negative experience: Spent £40 on 30x natural shrimp and they never arrived. The post office has stupid opening hours so cant even collect in person after two 'missed' deliveries. I was in all day both days, one day sitting by the door literally waiting for them to arrive. Yet they never delivered and never got anything in the post to say they had been. No red card from royal mail. They never arrived and its a Saturday. So wont be able to get to them until monday at the earliest so the shrimp will probably be dead. I now understand why many aquatics shops dont send out live fish for delivery on fridays. Wont be using again. No refunds either. I understand its royal mails fault and not proshrimp but im now £40 short with no shrimp.

Negative experience: ordered aquafleur and was sent cheap tatty alternatives covered in pests. ordered a few lucky dip plants on sale ( noted they would be a little brown and sorry for themselves) they turned up as black goo in a pot stinking of rotten plants and stagnent water. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY, they will take your money and then take liberties

Negative experience: Bought a fish tank I thought I was upgrading from my previous fluval - arrived slightly damaged so emailed and they offered some small compensation which I agreed to but the lights have failed multiple times now and they don't reply to emails or messages. The manufacturer tried to help but no solutions worked so they said I should get a refund or replacement from proshrimp which is impossible as they never reply and don't answer the phone.

Fantastic experience: I have ordered a number of times and each one has been first class. Quick delivery and quality plants.

Fantastic experience: First physical visit to the shop, it’s more of a warehouse. They have absolutely everything and at low prices too. Very quiet so can take your time finding the right things. Definitely one of the best dry aquatic goods retailer. Staff are really helpful too!

Negative experience: I had never had a problem with Pro-Shrimp over the years with ordering items and having them delivered. However, now that I have an issue, their phone number does not work as it goes to answer phone with no call back from the company made even with a message left. It even states “for guaranteed” response to contact them on their form on the website but also, no response. And no response from email. I will have to contact trading standards as a faulty item under warranty and no response is unacceptable. They have a duty to replace items.

Negative experience: Very poor service. Originally delivery of the tank was fast and good but tank led lights went within a couple of weeks of set up. Emailed and got a reply back straight away saying it will be a few days for a replacement. Still waiting from the 2nd November. I have sent three follow up emails with no reply and tried to call but just straight to answerphone. Very poor customer service and I feel like I have been conned. I will be reporting to trading standards as the product was not fit for purpose.

Fantastic experience: Superb online service. They have the best stock ever and always add an extra bit of relevant knowledge to their product that really helps making decisions. Their delivery speed is amazing too. This is my go to shop for aquariums and shrimp. Thank you

Fantastic experience: Pro shrimp are amazing and I wouldn't use anyone else for my shrimp supplies. I have purchased 2 tanks from them and both arrived well packaged and in top condition. The plants I have purchased have always been top quality and really healthy. Delivery is excellent. I recently had a shrimp emergency where I was misold some shrimp (another seller not pro shrimp)they were incompatible with my current set up so have had to house separately in a less than favourable temp set up. Couldnt send back so decided to keep. ordered my 2nd tank and plants on the Thursday and they were here by Saturday morning well ahead of the 5-6 economy delivery time frame. Their website is very easy to navigate and all the product descriptions are very detailed so I know exactly what I am getting. They are also cheaper than most other stores selling similar products so well worth considering when buying aquarium supplies.

Negative experience: Not happy with the quality of one of the plants I purchased, and just pretty shocked that they posted it to me like that.

Positive experience: Edit. I get refund for dead plant 4 stars ⭐️ But it doesn't change fact that I wait for respond to long. .... I ordered bunch of plants 3 weeks ago. One of plant has black spots and doesn't look good. I send pictures immediately. Two weeks after plant died. I'm waiting for respond from support to this day.

Fantastic experience: Staff very helpful and informative. Talked through best options for a substrate for my new tank. They were not just trying to push more expensive option, but what will work best for your needs. Well worth a visit

Negative experience: Don't bother. I received my items and the only thing that was OK was the shrimp dish. Two plants dead on arrival (root rot)and iron fe tablets where all crumbled and ruined in the bottle! I never write reviews but this needed one. Avoid at all costs.

Fantastic experience: I Ordered from proshrimp 2 lots of plants that were healthy and sprouting In the rock wool, and 200g of complete terrapin food that was only 2 pounds more expensive than 20g from our local fish shop. Turned up in 48 hrs well packed. Very impressed 10/10

Fantastic experience: Having bought from them online I decided to visit the shop, I was not disappointed. Spread over two units this shop is well worth a visit. Most if not all you need for setting up an aquarium or a Aquascape. Everything from plants, shrimp, fish, tanks you name it they seem to have it. The prices are very good, usually cheaper than other retailers. Well worth the hour and a half trip to get there and I will be going again.

Fantastic experience: I've placed quite a few orders here now and have been nothing but impressed! My orders have always been dispatched quickly and arrived within a couple of days. Their prices tend to be a bit cheaper than anywhere else. One of my orders contained a heater which was faulty - I contacted Pro Shrimp who resolved the issue very quickly and sent out a replacement immediately. I most recently ordered some plants which I was a bit cautious about given that I haven't ordered plants online before. They were well packaged and arrived in excellent condition and are growing very well in my tank. Safe to say I will be ordering more soon!

Negative experience: My wife ordered a tank for me for Christmas. Shortly after Christmas I got it out the box started to set it up and found one of the lights on the LED strip was faulty. Now 3 of the LED's fail to come on and another 3 are flickering. I have contacted them twice on their website, once by email and tried to call on numerous occasions, left messages to call me back and have been unable to speak to anyone or get any sort of response back.

The item was damaged (through no fault of Pro Shrimp) but Kim and the dispatch team were great at resolving this and sending a replacement within a couple of hours. Fantastic experience: Outstanding customer service from Kim! 24hr next day delivery of 2 parcels. 1 for livestock. T'other plants & lava rock. Excellent packaging of products! Shrimp coloured up beautifully after being conditioned for my aquarium water. Whilst the snail trundled happily as soon as it was added to my bogwood. Plants all look good and decently sized and I can't wait to see them mature over time. The lava rock (3 pieces) were exactly the sizes I had asked for! Highly recommend this company and would give them 10 stars if I could!

Fantastic experience: Ordered a wide variety of Tropica Tissue Culture plants, all of high quality and look excellent within my aquariums. In addition to this, I order some Tropica ferts and substrate both worked very well. I also ordered some dragon stone which were came vary large and of high quality (feedback; could have offered better photos of the stone to show customers the high quality products). All of the products were well packaged. Will 100% be using Pro Shrimp very often as they have great competitive pricing and fast service/ delivery, and look forward to ordering again in the future. Negative experience: Ordered wood stone. Not only was i asked what combination i would like regarding sizes only for it to be completely ignored but £20 plus shipping for what turned up in a box barely holding itself together i'd have been better off taking a gamble on amazon or ebay which i would advise everyone to do and it's what i'll be doing. Now to take a hammer and chisel to it to get the sizes i asked for. Going to cost more to retun it otherwise i would.

Fantastic experience: Absolutely fantastic company with excellent customer services. I had a issue with a (expensive) damaged product and pro shrimp dealt with it instantly and sent me a new one the next day. There communication was by far the best i have ever received from any company and resolved the issue in literally 10 minutes. I also ordered Dragon Rock for my aquarium, if you have ever bought this before, colour and size very drastically. I left a note with specific sizes and colours i wanted and pro shrimp did exactly as i asked and the rock they provided was spot on. Fantastic experience and highly recommend. I will certainly use them again and cannot fault this company in any way.

Negative experience: Purchased 5 plants online, when they turned up 3 were dead and 2 were dying. I decided to take them out of the little caged pots they were in to see if I could trim the dead leaves and save them, but unfortunately they were too far gone to save. contacted customer support , was met with an immediate response asking for pictures of the plants, which I sent back within 5 minutes of receiving the request....That was 4 days ago with no response or acknowledgment. In short, they took my money and sent me dead plants the next day, but when contacted to rectify the issue Pro Shrimp were not nearly as eager to fix the problem.

Fantastic experience: Decided during lockdown to start my own Aquascaping Instagram account @hw_aquascaping. However it has been a struggle sourcing the right plants and hardscape. I've never ordered plants online before but decided to bite the bullet and order from Proshrimp and I am so thankful I did. Plants were delivered quickly and all healthy, I have them in my plant storage tank until my last bits of hardscape arrive. Cannot wait to get them in my aquascapes and get some pictures up on my Instagram. Would highly recommend to anyone and I will be making more purchases from them in the near future.

Where I did have a fault with one item, it was replaced free of charged which wasn't expected but was very appreciated. 100% recommended for aquarium products.

Positive experience: Recently purchased 10 yellow 10 Orange 10 blue 10 white and 10 red shrimp. Delivery came when expected. And for the most part every thing has been perfect. Unfortunately most of the red shrimp have died. All the others remained healthy. Not sure if it was a bad batch or the red cherries don't sued my water but that's been my only issue. Will likely use again.

Fantastic experience: Great place for aquascaping plenty of tissue culture plants, soils and ferts. Great selection of fish. only thing lacking was stone selection, also to add to the reveiw after a recent large order of tissue culture plants and some seachem products fantastic delivery got the order Saturday which allowed me to finish a new scape on the weekend all plants but one pot of the monte carlo which had some root rot all other plants of the dernelle range and tropica were nice and fresh will give a update when rooted in but all seems well and the packaging was fantastic. Bar the one pot of the monte carlo which dident end up getting used I've had nothing but positive experience from pro shrimp the 1 time I've actually traveled down because of a time sensitive scape the staff were pleasant and willing for a nice long chat which is partly the reason we are in the hobby. Get down there take a look around well worth the drive. Will be buying more items in the future.
